Before the meal, I had plenty of gin and tonics at Nanban 1934. During a business dinner at Nanban Ginendo, we split a bottle of champagne between me and my client, with me drinking slightly more. After sending the client off and coming alone, I visited the restaurant. I stood near the entrance to Contoir as usual. For chilling out and finishing up, I had plenty of martinis. No olives, just a lemon twist, as usual. The bar manager Mr. Watanabe's drink recipes are relatively mild, providing a comforting feeling at this time. It's past 9:00, but the restaurant is fairly busy. People of all ages are leisurely relaxing, creating a nostalgic and pleasant atmosphere reminiscent of a 1980s to early 1990s "local bar". I also feel relaxed. Tonight's total alcohol intake so far is about four weak alcoholic units (equivalent to 20ml of pure alcohol). I feel like I have had enough to drink without feeling too much, but if I drink less, I won't feel satisfied. If I drink more, I might feel a bit anxious the next day. So, I have just the right amount, without overdoing it or falling short. I realized this to myself, muttered it in my mouth, and requested the bill. I haven't become weak, but rather more sensible. There's nothing wrong with that. Please refer to the photos or comments section for details of the specific drinks consumed.

Before 8:00 PM on a Saturday, two people visited a bar located underground in Ginza. The bar is one of the 100 top rated bars. The cost-performance ratio might be good. This was my first visit to a bar, but it seemed easy to go to even for first-timers. I had a Shandygaff and my companion had a Gin and Tonic. With the seat charge, the total came to 3,300 yen for the two of us. There was no menu. The Gin and Tonic had a rich flavor and was slightly strong, but just right for me. The Shandygaff had a bit of spiciness and freshness. I haven't paid much attention to the taste differences in alcohol before, but it was a good experience. It might be interesting to go to another bar and enjoy the differences.

This place is truly authentic and very appealing. I had been curious about it for some time, so I decided to visit after dinner. The atmosphere inside is not overly quiet, yet overall very calming, with a decor that feels like being in a scene from a foreign drama. They had a wide variety of whiskey options available!

At 7:40 pm near the Ginza police box, there is a very stylish antique clock underground. The interior of the place feels nice with a dim light and a pleasant smell. There is no music playing, and there isn't a menu, but you can order at your own pace at the counter or at one of the 5-6 tables available. They have the rare 10-year-old Yoichi on the rocks and the Martini with a rare 8-year-old Talisker on the rocks. The place is stylish and nice, but the shared toilet is quite dirty, almost like a public restroom, so that might be a turn-off for some people. It would be better to avoid it if that's a concern. The women's toilet might be okay, though. Just note that smoking is allowed inside, so it may not be suitable for non-smokers. Our bill for two people was 14,500 yen.

BAR Sanboa Ginza is located a 3-5 minute walk from Ginza Station. With branches in Tokyo and Kansai, this popular BAR has received high praise and was chosen as one of the top 100 bars in 2022. The bar is relatively easy to enter, with the master running the place alone, overseeing a counter and around 20 seats in total. I tried the Gin Buck this time, a classic cocktail made with gin, ginger ale, and citrus aroma. It's a refreshing drink with a sweet and fizzy taste, perfectly balanced with ice that gradually changes the flavor as it melts. Surprisingly, the prices are very reasonable for a bar in Ginza! It's a popular bar that's easy to visit when you want a casual drink in Ginza, so be sure to check it out. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the popular bar Sanboa Ginza store in Ginza. The high-quality atmosphere was fitting of its name, and I was able to enjoy gin and whiskey at the standing counter. The lively conversations of the visitors and interaction with the bartender created a fun time along with the drinks. Despite the standing style, the bartender's skill and hospitality were top-notch, making the ordered gin and whiskey stand out with their unique flavors. The atmosphere of the bar was vibrant, allowing for enjoyable communication with other customers. Bar Sanboa Ginza store, located in the bustling district of Ginza, offers a rare place to relax in a calm atmosphere. You can enjoy various beverages while savoring the adult atmosphere, making it a place I strongly want to visit again.

After drinking a lot in the Ginza area, I always remember Sanboa when I want to have just one more drink before heading home. There are two Sanboa locations in the area, one near Sukiyabashi in Ginza and the other closer to Shinbashi. This time I went to the Ginza Sanboa. It had been a while since I last visited, and as I descended the stairs, I was greeted by the familiar facade. I had planned to have just one drink, but ended up having two highballs. The highballs here are quite satisfying.

I think it's probably the best cost-performance authentic bar in Ginza. The atmosphere is very nice, and both the highballs without ice and with ice were delicious. The raisin butter snack went really well with the whiskey. It's a place I'd like to stop by occasionally.

I wanted to have a drink alone, so I visited the counter by myself. I enjoyed a watermelon cocktail made with seasonal fruits. It was fresh and delicious. I would like to come with someone next time, but since it was a weekend night, it was perfect for savoring a drink slowly by myself in a quiet atmosphere!

Texan Orange, which costs ¥1,760 (tax included) and is a Gin Orange cocktail, was served to me on June 7, 2023. The dress code for this restaurant is smart casual. Men are not allowed to wear shorts or sandals, as extreme casual attire is not permitted. There are a total of 28 seats available, including counter standing and table seating. Smoking is allowed in all seats.

There is not much that has changed in terms of things to do. Going down the stairs, opening the door, and entering, the only disappointing thing is that I don't have the habit of wearing a hat. It would be fun to playfully look for a place to put it before standing at the counter, but oh well, it's not a big deal. While ordering a classic drink, I don't hesitate much because this place is quite fitting for middle-aged and older customers. Lately, customers from various countries besides Japan have been coming and going. Some may show too much "youth" or "liveliness", but after spending some time here and leaving the restaurant, they seem to become more composed naturally. Come to think of it, a long time ago, a friend named Nama visited in jeans and sandals, and the owner gently advised, "It's okay this time, but please consider dressing up a bit next time." Wasn't it the same owner who run the restaurant in Kita-Shinchi that did that? It's nice to have places like this.

After a long time, I went to Sampo in Ginza from 3 pm. This standing bar tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Ginza is a space where just the atmosphere alone can make you feel intoxicated. I started with a refreshing highball to wet my throat. Even with no ice and using Kakubin whiskey, it tastes so delicious here. For the second drink, I requested a Bombay Sapphire gin to make a Gimlet. It feels great just watching them make it. To finish, I requested a Scotch as a curveball. They served me a 5-year-old Ardbeg Wee Beastie. Normally Ardbeg is valued for its long aging, but this young one packs a powerful punch. Standing around for too long is not cool, so I'll end it here.

Visited "Sanboa Ginza" in Ginza. It seems like this bar was opened around 17 years ago as a branch of a long-established bar in Osaka. The bar is located in the basement floor with a distinctive green sign. The door of the bar is a pull type door, and it gives an impression of uniqueness with the "PULL" sign. The interior of the bar is chic and elegant. The seating at the counter seems to be standing style. A friendly bartender guided us to a high-chair table. We ordered the following:
- Highball (1210 yen tax included): The signature highball. It was recommended to us, so we ordered it as our first drink. It was served quickly, which was nice. It was a highball without ice, a rare type. A classic highball with a refreshing taste. We also enjoyed the complimentary nuts.
- Strawberry cocktail (1870 yen tax included): Seeing the reviews made us curious, so we ordered it as an additional drink. It was served after a while. The bright red color was impressive and looked delicious. The taste was fruity with a strong strawberry flavor. It was pleasantly sweet and didn't need any snacks.
Overall, it was a very comfortable bar with friendly staff. The bartenders maintained a good distance while being attentive. It's a convenient place for a quick visit at any time and for various occasions. The coasters had a clear design of the UK flag, which somehow reminded me of Osaka. We paid with a credit card, and considering the location, the prices were satisfactory. We were escorted out when leaving, which was a nice touch. It was delicious. I will come again. Thank you for the meal.

After my coworker's congratulatory party, I was taken to a bar that apparently originated in 1918 and is known for their highballs! It's very much appreciated to hear that (laughs). It's what you might call an authentic bar, with a bit of a feeling similar to the pubs I visited in London. We sat at the counter, but it didn't feel pretentious at all. Of course, we had to order highballs. No ice. The sweetness and richness were intense. Delicious. What more is there to say? Well, I don't even know how much it cost (laughs).

On Friday night, I went to the Sanboa Ginza store looking for a place where I could smoke and stay open late, and where I could have a relaxing conversation. I don't drink much alcohol, so I don't usually visit bars, and I had a high image of visiting a bar with over 100 years of history. However, when I called for a reservation on the day, they said, "If you don't mind standing, please come." This put me at ease. When I actually visited, the atmosphere was good, calm, and very comfortable. When I asked for a non-alcoholic carbonated drink that wasn't too sweet, the bartender suggested a lime tonic. They made it in front of me, served it, and the service was very polite. As a bar novice, I could catch a glimpse of the charm of the bar. I was able to pay with both PayPay and cash.

[Order] Suntory Adult Highball
[Impression] Oh! I remembered that there was a Suntory Adult Highball on the menu at a bar in Matsuyama. So, I decided to come to the bar owned by my eldest brother in Tokyo. By the way, the original bar is closed, and my eldest brother is in Osaka. Personally, I prefer it with ice, haha. Let's go to Asakusa too— I show maximum respect to all the ingredients I encounter. Thank you for the feast. ☺️

It's a shop in Ginza where you can enjoy delicious drinks from noon. Considering the location, I think the cost performance is good! I had a cocktail made with fruits. It wasn't the perfect taste this time, but it was delicious. One drink costs around 2000 yen including the charge, so it's easy to visit casually. I will go again.

I wandered around Ginza and went downstairs. The atmosphere was warm, maybe because it was one-man operation at a different time than other Sanboas. The highball with no ice was delicious as always, a consistency nationwide. I also tried the gin and tonic, which was tasty too. It's great to have such an easy-to-visit place like Sanboas.

=R5.1=Enter the alley from Sony Street, go down the stairs to the basement floor, and enter the shop at the back on the right. It's my first visit in 3 years and 10 months on a weekend. I secured a standing position in the gap in the center of the counter seats, between other customers. The regular customers sitting next to me are veterans. I can feel their dedication as they order highballs with Nikka. I ordered a corner highball and some salted peanuts. The place is starting to get crowded, so I'll just have one drink for my first stop.

One of the two Suntory branches in Ginza, this branch is known for its spacious interior compared to the Suntory branch in Sukiyabashi. Although Suntory bars are known for their standing counter seats, this branch offers plenty of seating at tables. The interior has an authentic British atmosphere. Despite its prestigious location, the atmosphere is calm and inviting, making it an accessible Ginza bar. Established in Kobe in 1918, Suntory has expanded across the country with 14 branches primarily in the Kansai region. Each branch has developed its own unique characteristics. The Ginza, Asakusa, and Kobe branches serve as branch stores of Suntory Kitashinchi. Highball is a popular choice at Suntory, made with Suntory Kakubin whiskey and served without ice. Other options include whiskey and seasonal fruit cocktails. The bar opens early in the afternoon with affordable prices, making it a reliable choice for a quick visit during your time in Ginza.
