Standing soba. Located near Kanda Station, next to a crossroads is "Tenkame Soba". Sandwiched between buildings on both sides, this small shop stands alone. On weekday mornings, the narrow shop is packed with office workers, taxi drivers, truck drivers, and various other working people. Upon entering the shop, there are counters on both sides where about 6-7 people can sit. You place your order in front and pay when you receive your soba. This morning, I tried the specialty dish, "Geso Tempura Soba (510 yen)". The tempura at Tenkame Soba is made of just a small piece of squid and a lot of onions, with the portion seeming to have shrunk as the price increased. As I started eating, the soba noodles were chewy in a rich broth. It hasn't changed! But that's what makes it good! Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant around 8:30 on a regular Thursday. There were 2 customers before me and 2 after me, and the small counter-only seating area quickly filled up. I ordered my favorite dish, the spring vegetable tempura soba with an egg topping for 540 yen, which was quite affordable. The thick soy sauce typical of Tokyo, combined with the tempura and egg, was delicious when mixed with the soba. Although I usually enjoy eating small soba noodles from Komoro Shichibei at home, the flavor of the soba here was a bit weak. Nevertheless, it was a great dish that made me realize "this is how it should be." There are many other standing soba restaurants in the area, so I look forward to comparing them with this one.

Caught up with work and missed the timing for dinner, so I ended up coming home late today. Even though I wanted to grab dinner before heading back, it was hard to find a place open for solo dining due to the early closure trend since the pandemic. In such a situation, I filled my stomach with a quick solo night soba at Tenka, a 24-hour open restaurant. With a capacity of only six people, the standing soba shop had a cozy atmosphere managed by a single mother. While the menu lists options like "Soba with ○○" most people order a base soba and add toppings like "Soba with tempura squid" or "Soba with egg and croquette." It seems like no one orders udon, which might be unique to the Edo-style establishment. I ordered "Soba with carrots" and added carrot tempura for only 450 yen, offering great value for money. The broth, although light in flavor, was just right for a late-night meal in the dark alleys of Tokyo's downtown. Perhaps this is their way of standing out from the lunch-only dark alley shops. The generous portion of green onions and soup filled my stomach late at night.

I watched many videos on a certain video site and wanted to try the food, so I visited the restaurant for the first time. It's located a 2-3 minute drive from Akihabara Station at a crossroads. I arrived early at 5 am, so there weren't many cars on the road and I was able to park easily. The popular dish I tried was "geso tempura soba" and one piece of inari sushi. There were four other customers inside, and the seating consisted of counter seats on both sides with a deep-fried food case in the middle. Next to it was the payment mat, and on the right side was the bowl return area. The food was ready in about 30 seconds. The soba was typical, but the broth was delicious. Unfortunately, the geso tempura had become a bit soggy as it had been fried for a while. I soaked it in the broth to soften it before eating. The inari sushi was equivalent to about 1.5 convenience store rice balls in size and had a satisfying texture. Although the owner, a lively lady, wasn't there, I left feeling energized. I will visit again. They only accept cash, and there is no parking available.

Today, I decided to have breakfast at home and chose to get soba from "Tenkame Soba," the restaurant I visit the most. This place is open 24 hours, so it's always available. When I arrived, there were no other customers in the restaurant, and the radio was playing the Koshien baseball tournament. I ordered my usual "geso tempura soba" for 510 yen. I've been coming here for over 30 years, but the quality hasn't improved much because all the staff are over 70 years old. This time was particularly bad because there was hardly any geso in the tempura. I tried to find it, but all I could locate were tiny fragments. This issue had happened in the past, and when I mentioned it, they fixed it, but this time, I couldn't bring myself to say anything. I just slurped up the broth, added some boiled fish, and turned it into a rich, junky soup that I finished. It was disappointing, and I might not come back again, even though I've visited over 100 times.

Located a 2-minute walk from JR Yamanote Line Kanda Station, this standing soba shop is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, satisfying the stomachs of busy individuals. It was near the hotel where I stayed, so I visited for a late-night meal of soba. During this time, taxi drivers were coming and going. I ordered the kakesoba for 340 yen and the sansai soba for 480 yen. I opted for the sansai soba, which featured thick, chewy noodles, a gentle broth, and plenty of mountain vegetables and seaweed. It was delicious and I finished it in no time. This is the essence of standing soba. I wish there was a place like this near my home. It was a great meal.

I stopped by a soba shop in the morning and ordered a tempura soba for 450 yen. The soba noodles were reheated boiled noodles. The tempura had a slightly stale taste. The soba broth was a bit sweet. Overall, it was just okay, but the friendly energy of the lady running the shop was good.

I visited in the evening. I ordered the squid tempura soba for 510 yen. The broth was homemade and had a subtle sweetness. The squid tempura had onions in it and was delicious. The soba itself was typical, but what stood out was the dried fish flakes sprinkled on top! It added a nice flavor and I finished it in no time. It was delicious.

As the hot July comes to an end, the eagerly awaited heat of August is now here. However, it's so hot that it's exhausting. I wanted to grab a quick meal while on the move, so I decided to visit this place that I had bookmarked before. This restaurant is open 24 hours a day and is known for its freshly fried tempura and rich broth, making it extremely popular among taxi drivers. The interior of the shop is very small, but the turnover is fast. I had onion tempura and inari sushi. The inari sushi was filled with plenty of ingredients and paired well with the rich broth. All this for 550 yen, which is 1/10 of the price of an eel rice bowl, but I left feeling completely satisfied. It's not about whether the price is high or low, but about how delicious and satisfying the food is. Running a food and beverage business is a difficult task. However, this is a delicious soba restaurant.

Kanda x Standing Soba x 24 Hours = A Takudora Exclusive Shop!? I watched Mokuhansan's video on Tenkame Soba and immediately felt the urge to eat it since it's located in Kanda! So, I went there. The shop is open 24 hours and focuses on standing soba. The broth is carefully made in-house as shown in the video, and I just had to try it! I noticed shiitake tempura on the menu, but opted for the regular tempura soba. The order was promptly served. The soba had a rich soy sauce broth and the tempura was crispy. The soba noodles were thick and delicious, perfect for standing eating. Topped with shichimi spice, it was a great combination. I finished the meal in just 5 minutes, and the broth was so good. I forgot to try the inari sushi, so I'll definitely order it next time! Thank you for the meal!

I arrived after the peak congestion around 9 o'clock and the place was less crowded. I wanted to try the cold noodles with freshly fried tempura, but they were not available, so I ordered the tanuki soba instead. The cold menu items take a little time to prepare. Some customers who arrived later seemed familiar with the place and ordered the hot noodles. They were served quickly and enjoyed their meal. I realized that hot noodles are more popular here, so I enjoyed my cold tanuki soba with freshly fried eggplant tempura on top. It was delicious.

The standing udon noodles were delicious! The broth was flavorful and had a rich color, but it was delicious!! For some reason, I ended up having standing udon noodles in Kanda after drinking. My senpai took me to this place because it's delicious. The interior of the shop has a lot of history, but the udon and squid tempura I ordered had a good aroma from the broth. The portions were huge and the udon was delicious. If I have the chance, I would go there again. Thank you for the meal!

A popular standing soba shop just a few minutes from Kanda Station. The narrow shop is always bustling with customers slurping soba. The appeal lies in the affordability and the variety of tempura options to choose from. Even after ordering, they kindly recommend the freshest tempura. The soba is cooked to a soft texture. The large tempura on top of the bowl is visually pleasing. Enjoying the dish while mixing it with the broth is pure bliss. What's especially unique is that you can sprinkle as much dried sardine powder as you want. It may look like pepper at first glance, but it's actually dried sardines. While preferences may vary, the service of being able to change the flavor of the broth is something you shouldn't miss out on. By utilizing this, I was able to enjoy a satisfying meal. Thank you for the delicious meal!

"I was surprised to learn that the commercial for 'Delicious Shumai Sakaiyoken' is only aired in Kanto region. Similarly, 'Anzu Bo' which I saw at a dagashiya is also apparently unique to this region. Ok, a supermarket in Asakusa, Beckers in front of the JR station, and Ducky Duck also seem to only exist in Kanto. And apparently, this menu item is exclusive to standing soba shops in Kanto as well. So for today's lunch, I had the delicious 'Harusame Tempura Soba' at Tenkame Soba. They used to be open 24 hours a day all year round, but due to the pandemic, they now close on weekends and late nights. However, one thing that hasn't changed is their fast service. I received my order in less than 2 minutes. The soft soba with slightly sweet, rich broth is great. The crispy tempura-fried spring chrysanthemum adds a nice bitter touch. The difference in texture between the crispy parts not touching the broth and the softened parts soaked in the broth is enjoyable. And halfway through, when you melt the raw egg into it, it adds a gentle flavor. The crunchy texture of the green onions is also enjoyable, and before I knew it, I had finished my meal. There are still many tempura items I want to try, so I will definitely visit again soon."

I was satisfied with a full stomach for 650 yen. The soba has a lot of noodles. The fried tofu is quite sweet. The seaweed has a slightly strong taste of the sea. The curry is spicy and delicious enough for everyone to enjoy. Tempura of shiso leaf came with the curry, and I discovered for the first time that curry and tempura go well together. Next time, I will try the cold tororo soba or the tororo set meal.

I'm so hungry I could pass out! I feel like eating something! Come to think of it, I haven't had curry ramen at all recently! So, I entered this shop that I happened to pass by. I ordered the curry ramen for 490 yen. It's cheap! I think the taste is great for this price. Personally, I'm a little disappointed that the noodles are soft, but I think it's irresistible for those who like it. The curry is really delicious. It's full of spices. Thank you for the meal! It was delicious!

I had some time before a meeting, so I got off at Kanda Station, where I used to hang out during my student days about 40 years ago. I walked around the station and ended up heading towards Nihonbashi, where I came across this shop. Since I had a dinner meeting later, I decided to have a light meal of croquette soba for 450 yen. The interior of the shop had a nostalgic standing style with counters on both sides, making me feel like I had slipped back in time to the Showa era. I hope the shop owner continues to do their best. Thank you for the meal.

I suddenly felt like eating squid tempura soba, so I visited the restaurant. Luckily, there was a customer leaving as I arrived, so I had the place all to myself. The squid tempura was perfectly tender, soaking in the dark broth, and eating it alternately with the soba was a delightful experience. It was delicious, incredibly delicious. It's no wonder this place is considered a top-notch restaurant.

【Standing Soba #1】Where to start. When to start. I'll try to follow the senior reviewers. LOL Congratulations on taking the first step! I think I first tried standing soba when I was in around 5th grade. It was probably when I went to the game center with my friends for all-you-can-play for 1,000 yen. The first time I remember was a happy service where the old lady would give us extra toppings. Standing soba holds a lot of nostalgic memories for me. Personally, I like the salty black soup with crispy tempura. The croquette slowly falling apart in the soup is also wonderful. Now that I can fry tempura well myself, what I seek in standing soba is the atmosphere of the good old days. It's about a 2-minute walk from JR Kanda Station. The traditional and historical appearance of the shop is already impressive. Tempura soba for ¥450 and homemade inari sushi for ¥100. First, they make the broth at the shop. That's very pleasing. And of course, they fry the tempura at the shop too... even the inari sushi. It's really nice. Standing soba! Thank you for the meal! Please take care of yourself, shop owner!

After drinking and eating in Asakusabashi and Kanda, my blood sugar dropped and I craved carbohydrates. Determined to finish the night with something to eat, I wandered through the streets of Kanda. Surprisingly, this area is more of an office district, so unlike Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Ikebukuro, there are limited options for places open past midnight. Just then, I stumbled upon this place. A standing soba shop open 24 hours, perfect! The shop is small, about the size of four and a half tatami mats. With 7 or 8 people, it would quickly become crowded. I ordered the egg soba for 410 yen, with an extra 100 yen for a large portion. It arrived in just 1 minute. I applaud the F1-like speed of service. The soba noodles are soaked in a black Edo-style broth, with roughly chopped green onions scattered on top and a single egg dropped in. As for the taste, there's no need to nitpick. This is a place where busy men and tipsy customers come to quickly satisfy their hunger, so it would be uncouth to critique the taste. The slightly spicy broth and the slightly chewy soba noodles, likely made with a good amount of wheat, create a strangely satisfying combination. Perhaps this is also a part of the culture. The minimal interaction with the staff, the worn-out walls – this is the epitome of fast food in the city. Just experiencing the atmosphere of a standing eatery like this is worth it, especially if you visit late at night. Thank you for the meal.
