In Edo, Asakusa, I indulged in a Kuro Tendon. Yes, happiness. Lately, I have been able to truly enjoy the Tendon at Daikokuya. I think I will stop taking an anti-Giants stance. If the rating of this restaurant, which was once rated 2.98 on this Tabelog, has been re-evaluated, I feel like my mission is over. I have no intention of interfering with other people's preferences. I just wanted to speak out because I felt that history was being distorted due to ignorance and was being talked about based on that. Even if each person has their ideal Tendon, the Tendon at this restaurant will not change or be affected by my comments. But since I am uploading, I will write a little bit. (laughs) "Tendon (2 shrimp, 1 kakiage)" (1,900 yen) + "Kakitama Wan" (350 yen) - As shown in the photo. It was the same pattern as last time. The Tendon increased by 100 yen, but "I was a child who could endure hunger without complaint." Not Daigoro, but to enjoy the softness, it is best not to open the lid right away. Some ladies even take the trouble to carefully expose the steam rising from the tempura by inserting chopsticks into the shrimp tempura and placing them in several places on the rice. The same goes for the tempura coating of Katsudon and the egg in Oyakodon. Nowadays, it seems that the majority of people are the type who open the lid right away without caring about such things. In terrible restaurants, even though the lid comes with it, they open it right away when serving. It seems that they are ignoring the fact that the lid comes with it. It is a thick and puffy coating that is not just for volume, but a decorative coating. It is the tempura technique of Edomae Tendon. The dark and seemingly intense color actually allows you to enjoy the subtle flavor of the secret sauce. It is said to have been passed down with gratitude to the previous generation who left the taste of this sauce. The compatibility with Kakitama Wan is excellent. The ginger flavor is exquisite. Ah, I ate the Kuro Tendon at Daikokuya. That time is enveloped in a feeling of happiness. Thank you for the meal. I am not a pure Giants fan, but a Giants fan who is anti-Giants. It's a strange position. People have easily acquired a means to attack others. In the Showa era, the biggest event was said to be when mankind acquired "nuclear" power. The power balance of the world, superiority and inferiority, and diplomacy all changed significantly. However, in the Heisei era, the so-called Internet society, a subtle society where reality and virtual space coexist, was created, and people continue to live in the Reiwa era. In a world where many people suffer and even lose their lives due to slander and defamation. I myself was once targeted on 2ch for a Tabelog review. However, I couldn't understand the situation where the attackers said things like "Net Benkei" or "I can't say anything if it's my real name" because they were anonymous. I tried to explain myself, but that was it. I have been mentioning it in my profile for a long time, but <I think humans have mistakes and prejudices. If my writing causes trouble other than the main purpose of this Tabelog, I would like to make corrections, deletions, additions, etc. I have no intention of running away, so I am writing with the determination to meet anyone on this matter. If you have any opinions, please leave a message or comment. I would be happy to meet and talk.> I don't need to chase after the operation or server. If asked to "come out," I will go out. I visited around 5:00 p.m. on a Saturday holiday. There were about four groups waiting in line, and I waited for about 10 minutes before entering the store. This is my second time here, and just like last time, I had the tempura bowl set. The taste is not as strong as it looks, but it is extremely delicious with a perfect balance of flavors.

I arrived around 2 pm on a regular day. Originally, I was planning to go to another tempura restaurant nearby, but when I arrived, they had already run out of ingredients and closed, so I ended up at this restaurant. I was seated right away, but the place was quite full, mostly with foreign tourists. This place seems to be famous for its tempura, but this time I decided to order the tempura set meal. It was served in about 15 minutes. The set included shrimp, mackerel, assorted tempura, shiitake mushrooms, and asparagus, but there was no anago (conger eel). The batter was surprisingly light, so I didn't have to worry about feeling heavy afterwards. The tempura itself was tasty, but personally, it didn't leave a strong impression on me. If I have the chance, I would like to try the tempura bowl next time.

I entered the restaurant around 6:40 pm on Sunday. It was about 80% full, quite busy. This place always has a line, so just being able to get in was lucky. However, by the time it was past 7 pm, it was empty. Since they close at 8 pm, it seems best to come later if you just want to eat tempura. I ordered the tempura with two shrimp. There are three types of tempura, but no distinction on the menu, so saying "the one with two shrimp in the middle!" makes it clear. The tempura here is black! And it has a good chewy texture. Chew well when eating. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is good. It's a tempura to be enjoyed with the atmosphere.

I visited around 2 PM on a regular day. There was a long line during lunchtime, but it was quiet at this time so I decided to go in. I ordered the tempura bowl (¥1700). It had four kinds of tempura: kisu, large shrimp, shiitake mushroom, and small shrimp. It was all about the shrimp, haha. The rice portion was small, so even those with a small appetite could easily finish it. The sauce was soaked in well and it was very delicious. Thank you for the meal!

On a Sunday evening in Asakusa, there were many people around, but the popular tourist shops were not too crowded. I was able to enter without waiting. This shop is quite popular and attracts many customers, but it is not difficult to get in, except for during New Year's. It can be considered the best among non-luxury shops. It is originally a high-end Edo-style tempura restaurant, faithfully following the traditional Edo-style tempura. The tempura is deep-fried in sesame oil to a crispy texture, seasoned with a sweet and savory soy sauce flavor, making the tempura bowl a top-notch dish. It is different from the high-end tempura that uses rare seafood with a barely cooked finish. There are three types of tempura bowls, with shrimp, one fish, or mixed tempura, all recommended. The fish used is Edo-style, and it is the most affordable option. The miso soup is not as refined as in high-end Japanese restaurants, but it is still well-prepared without any shortcuts. Overall, the tempura and tempura bowl at this restaurant are satisfying, and the tea service is also attentive.

I lined up 15 minutes before the store opened and just made it in. I ordered the tempura rice bowl (with mixed tempura) and it was served right away. The batter was thick, and it was generously topped with sauce. The sauce had a rich and complex flavor, giving me a sense of history. It turns out they have been using the same sauce recipe for many years.

This is a well-established restaurant known for its large shrimp tempura bowl. Unlike the type that enjoys the aroma with sesame oil, it can be enjoyed relatively lightly. I ordered four shrimp tempura, but surprisingly, I was able to eat it comfortably. They also have side dishes, so you can enjoy a meal while drinking.

I had a meal at the Habuhashi shopping street. The tempura here is not crispy, but thick and moist. The shrimp tempura is thin f^_^; but the mixed tempura with shrimp and squid was very delicious. It's a black tempura bowl, but it's light and easy to eat. The balance of rice and sauce is good. Personally, I prefer the sauce to be a little sweeter and the soy sauce to be a little less intense, so it's not exactly to my liking, but everyone has their own preferences. The tempura was thick, so it felt like you were eating the batter.

I ate. The menu was a bit confusing. But, I ended up choosing the tempura bowl. I also ordered some alcohol, but in the end, I went with the tempura bowl. The seating was like a typical diner with chairs and tables, and there were quite a few families. There were also many foreigners, probably tourists. Is this the famous tempura bowl from Asakusa? It's not crispy, but moist. The flavor is well infused. It's quite satisfying. The sauce is a bit sweet. Kids would probably like it. It was my first time trying it, so I enjoyed it while savoring the taste. It was a bit hot outside, so the restaurant was a bit warm inside as well. There was a lot of heat. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had the shrimp tempura rice bowl. It came with four large shrimp on top, overflowing from the bowl, which really whet my appetite. The batter was soft and not crispy, but had a unique texture. The sauce was also unique, not very sweet, more soy sauce-based, which gave it a traditional flavor that I enjoyed. The whole dining experience, including the historic atmosphere of the restaurant, made me feel like I had traveled back in time to the Showa era. I fully enjoyed my dinner.

A historic tempura restaurant. My friend who lives in Asakusa and I randomly stopped by... Established in the Meiji era! My friend didn't even know about it. There are so many shops in Asakusa... The atmosphere inside the store is Showa era... The retro vibe is amazing. They close at 8pm at night. We went in after 7pm, but since it's tempura rice bowl, it was enough time. It was delicious ♡

Established in the 20th year of the Meiji era! Edo-style tempura rice bowl in Asakusa—@Asakusa Established in 1887, so it's been 136 years since its founding! What an incredible history, right? The fact that tempura rice bowls have been loved since that time is truly amazing. While working, I suddenly felt like having a tempura rice bowl—around 3 PM. It's the perfect time to visit a famous restaurant. So, I headed to Daikokuya, which usually has long lines on weekends. It was a little past 3 PM on a weekday, and the spacious restaurant was only about half full. Many customers were there, but it was the perfect time to visit a renowned restaurant. It's tempura rice bowl time! Wait, there are two types of tempura rice bowls on the menu… Tempura rice bowl for 1700 yen (1 shrimp, sand borer, and vegetable tempura) Tempura rice bowl for 1900 yen (2 shrimp and vegetable tempura) What's the difference between shrimp and sand borer? Hmm, I love sand borer, but… After some hesitation, I decided on the tempura rice bowl with 2 shrimp! It arrived in a bowl with a lid after about 10 minutes of waiting. Opening the lid was a bit exciting, as the tempura was overflowing… haha. Open! The color was amazing—the black tempura was very appetizing. It had plenty of sauce, and the tempura was moist. The rich, unique sweet and savory sauce is a secret recipe that has been passed down since the establishment. I wondered about the distinctive black color of the tempura, so I looked it up and found out that they only use sesame oil. I see! That's why the tempura has this unique fox-like color. The tempura rice bowl with the historic fox-like color was, needless to say, incredibly delicious. The vegetable tempura included shrimp and plenty of squid. Vegetable tempura usually has a crispy texture, but this one had a unique texture. At first, I was unsure about it, but as I continued eating, the umami flavor increased. In the end, I got hooked and wanted to eat it again and again. I can understand why this tempura rice bowl from a famous restaurant is so popular. So, during the perfect time to visit a famous restaurant, I enjoyed a moist, black tempura rice bowl with the unique flavor of a long-established restaurant in Asakusa.

It's a shop where the smell of tempura fried in sesame oil tickles your nose and makes you want to approach. Located in the heart of Asakusa, the shop is always bustling with customers regardless of the time. On weekends and holidays, lining up is a must. Whether you choose the tempura set meal or tempura rice bowl, you will be satisfied with the delicious Edo-style flavors.

On Saturday afternoon, there was quite a long line! However, the turnover was surprisingly fast, and we were able to get in after about 30 minutes. The taste was lighter than I expected, so it was easy to eat even in the hot summer (^。^) Those looking for a hearty meal might find it a bit lacking?

I visited the restaurant around lunchtime on a holiday, and waited in line for over 30 minutes before getting a table at 1:30 pm. I ordered the classic tempura bowl. The tempura was not overly crispy, but had soaked up the sauce, giving it a dark color. The taste was very good, and it was clear why there was a long line to get in - this place is a well-established gem. The portion size was also satisfying.

On a holiday, when I arrived at around 11 o'clock, there was already a line of about 30 people. Since I had come all the way to Asakusa and had some time to spare, I decided to wait in line. After waiting for about 20 minutes, I finally got inside the restaurant. It was a shared seating arrangement, but they welcomed me warmly. I ordered a tempura bowl for 1,700 yen. It took another 20 minutes for the tempura bowl to arrive. The tempura bowl consisted of large shrimp tempura, sandfish tempura, peeled shrimp tempura, shishito pepper tempura, and it was quite simple. The large shrimp didn't have a very firm texture, but the taste of the shrimp was strong. The peeled shrimp tempura was quite voluminous, and I was unsure if it was necessary for the tempura bowl. The sandfish had a plump texture and the taste was excellent. The dipping sauce was thick and had a unique color typical of the Kanto region. The rice was well coated with the dipping sauce. Despite thinking it might be a small portion, it was unexpectedly heavy. After finishing the meal, I felt quite full.

The other day after work, I decided to go to "Daikokuya Tempura" in Asakusa, where I had been wanting to eat for a long time. Recently, due to the influx of tourists and inbound visitors, there is always a long line during the day regardless of weekdays or weekends. However, I found that it was not crowded on a weekday night, so I was able to enter the restaurant right away. I sat at a table, ordered a bottle of beer and some appetizers like board wasabi and grated daikon, and enjoyed a blissful moment. Then, I ordered my favorite "Tempura Bowl (2 shrimp, 1 vegetable tempura)" as usual. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The tempura bowl had a generous amount of dark-colored sauce with large shrimp tempura and thick vegetable tempura on top. The taste was as excellent as always, and I finished it in no time. There are many other famous tempura restaurants in Asakusa, but if it's tempura bowl, this is still my favorite place. Thank you for the delicious tempura bowl. It was a great meal.

After watching the 8th day of the Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament, I walked along the Sumida River towards Asakusa. Asakusa was lively with the Sanja Matsuri festival. I happened to pass by Daikokuya and decided to go in since there was no wait. I ordered the Tempura Bowl (1 shrimp, 1 fish, 1 vegetable) with free extra rice for 1,700 yen. The combination of tempura and sauce was amazing!
