I heard it was cheap, but when I tried it, its greatness increased even more. I can't compare it to "Unatoto" because I haven't tried it, but there's no need to compare because the cost performance is excellent. At 12:30 on a weekday, there were 10 people waiting. However, I was able to sit down in about 10 minutes. I ordered after being seated, and the bowl was in front of me in 5 minutes. It was made with domestic eel. The taste is authentic. It is fluffy and tender. The rice is coated with sauce, and the eel has a strong flavor. There is eel sauce and sansho pepper on the counter. Of course, the double portion (2000 yen) or the box set (1500 yen) is better, but if you just want to eat eel, the bowl is enough. I left the restaurant at 12:50. There was no line. It was a kind of miraculous sight. It was really good. I am satisfied. In this season, eel is the best. Thank you for the meal!

I went to Unasho in Shizuoka just before 12 o'clock. There wasn't a line outside, so my colleagues and I were seated on the second floor. The eel arrived in about 5 minutes and it was so tender and delicious. The quality for the price of 1100 yen is amazing. It would probably cost around 2500 yen at other places. Just a heads up, they don't split the bill for multiple people.

On 9/22/2023 (Fri), I drove to "Unamasa" because I was craving their eel after a long time. I bought their "Eel Bento" for ¥2800. It had thick slices of domestic eel piled on top, and for the price, it was seriously cheap. The eel here is so tender and really delicious!

I was finally able to visit the famous store in Kanda Shopping Street. They open at 10:30 am, but there was already a line. The store has a counter on the first floor and a second floor. The recommended dish is the double eel bowl. The eel comes out from the rice. The turnover rate is good, and I was able to enjoy a delicious meal.

The eel restaurant where customers always line up outside. Today, I arrived a bit early for lunch around 12 o'clock and waited in line for a bit, but was quickly seated. There were seats available on the second floor as well, and the turnover rate was very good. On the table, there were eel sauce and sansho pepper for self-service. The una-don double that I ordered had another piece of eel hidden in the rice, so even though the amount of rice was the same as a regular una-don, it felt like there was less rice. The eel was not small even in the summer, and the aroma of charcoal added to its deliciousness. The restaurant had many elderly regular customers, and some were ordering skewers not listed on the menu inside or outside the restaurant. I thought it was a secret menu, but it was actually listed on the menu on this website. I will wait a bit longer before trying the "secret menu" myself.

There aren't many eel restaurants where you can easily enjoy domestic eel, so this place is quite valuable. I arrived right at the opening time of 10:30 am. I was seated immediately, and my eel bowl arrived within a few minutes. I ordered the "Double Eel Bowl" (¥2,000) this time. The eel even comes out from the rice. The sauce, with a hint of alcohol, is slightly light and elegant in flavor, which may be a bit lacking for younger people. The eel is cooked gently and steamed well, making it soft but slightly lacking in flavor. This style may be particularly favored by elderly people and women. In terms of cost performance, I think the "Eel Bowl" (¥1,100) is the best option. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Unamasa in Kanda, where you can enjoy eel dishes at a reasonable price. The Kanto-style eel has a light and fluffy texture that melts in your mouth. I ordered their recommended double eel bowl, where half of the eel is hidden under the rice. The sauce is not too sweet and goes well with the eel. At a price of 2000 yen, it's a great place to enjoy eel without breaking the bank, especially with the current high prices of eel.

Due to my love for eel, I have decided to only eat delicious eel. When dining out in Tokyo, my go-to place is Kanda Station. Usually, I go there, but for special occasions, I head to Kikukawa. Here, the ingredients, cooking, and taste are excellent, and the cost performance is the best. The photo shows the Unaju with plum for 1500 yen. The eel is crispy and fragrant on the outside, and soft and free of any fishy smell on the inside. This place has been featured in the media multiple times, and their famous dish is the Unadon Double with two pieces of eel. At this restaurant, the price of the dish is determined by the grams of eel in the bowl or box, so I decide between the Unaju and Unadon Double based on my appetite. It's always crowded, but the turnover is fast. The young staff members work efficiently in the small restaurant, which I appreciate. Takeout is also available.

It had been a while since I last went, and I found out that the prices had increased. The previous price for the eel bowl was 980 yen, but now it's 1100 yen. Additionally, the eel portion seemed to have gotten smaller. Today, I had the eel bowl and grilled eel liver. The eel was still fluffy and delicious. The sauce was light and easy to eat. Despite the price increase and smaller portion, it's still great to be able to eat natural eel at this price. I hope this restaurant continues to exist. I will definitely go back. Thank you for the meal.

It's a shop that I was curious about on my old commute route. After a meeting, I stopped by for lunch a little early. I had a double eel bowl, which was okay in terms of price, especially when you're short on time. The sauce was there, but the rice was a bit dry.⤵️This is just my personal opinion.

- Una-don for 1,100 yen
At this price, there is often a risk of it being too fishy, but I was satisfied with the taste of the eel. The sauce was delicious.
- Crowdedness
It was as crowded as shown in the picture, probably because it was a weekend. I had to wait for about 20 minutes.
- Other
Even if you visit with multiple people, you cannot sit next to each other. They fill up empty seats quickly. I'm not sure if it was just a coincidence, but on that day, they were not serving alcohol.

This is a cheap eel restaurant in Kanda. I had always assumed that eel was small, smelly, and not delicious, so I had never visited before. But one day, during lunchtime, I decided to give it a try. When I entered the restaurant, I was guided to the second floor. I was surprised to see that there was a second floor. Once seated, tea and pickles were already prepared. I ordered the double eel bowl, and it arrived quickly. I was worried it was too fast, but when I took a bite, the eel was tender and flavorful. As I continued eating, I realized how delicious it was. I regretted not trying it sooner. It's not like the famous eel restaurants, but for the price, it's a great value. I hope this restaurant continues to do well, and I will definitely visit again.

We visited the restaurant together, but the first floor counter was full so we were seated on the second floor. On the table, there was a cup of tea with pickles on top, and next to it was already a bowl of soup. We chose the eel bowl for ¥2,300. It was delicious with a tender finish, similar to Kanto-style cooking.

If you're looking to enjoy eel in Kanda, Kanda Kikukawa is the place to go. I recently added a new chapter to my eel-eating adventures in Kanda. I stayed in the area for two nights and three days, including a bit of business during the day. In the evenings, I went to watch baseball at the dome and enjoyed some drinks. It was mostly for fun (laughs). For lunch, I visited a traditional soba restaurant in Kanda. I had mentioned to my companion that I occasionally wanted to eat eel. He suggested trying a place called "Unasei" that he had looked up. So, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is located in the Kanda Nishiguchi shopping street. When we arrived around 11:30, there were about five people waiting. We waited for about 10 minutes before being seated. We were instructed to exit through the back door and go up to the second floor. As we ascended the stairs, we found the second-floor seating area with about 10 tables. The first floor only had a counter. When we visited, the second floor was quite empty, and I thought they managed the flow of customers well. My companion ordered the Unadon Double for 2000 yen, and I ordered the Unaju (plum) for 1500 yen. We also ordered one skewer of grilled eel liver for 400 yen and some pickles for 250 yen. We also had bottled beer! We started with the beer and pickles, followed by the grilled eel liver, which was deliciously firm. Soon after, the Unadon Double and Unaju arrived. Despite the price, the eel was plump and tender, and the taste was excellent! The Unadon Double, in particular, had a generous amount of eel. The value for money was outstanding. According to the posters in the restaurant, they source domestic eels from Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, and prepare and cook them in-house. The quality was top-notch, which explained the delicious taste. The value for money here is unbelievable. If this restaurant were nearby, I would definitely become a regular. I regret not trying it sooner, despite passing by several times. I may not have many opportunities to visit, but I will definitely return whenever I'm in the area. Thank you for the wonderful meal ⭐︎

Unaju (bamboo) for 2,300 yen may not be considered cheap when considering that it uses eel from Shizuoka Prefecture (domestic). The eel is fluffy. Some people may find the taste to be light. If you prefer a stronger flavor, add extra sauce from the bottle on the table.

I looked at Tabelog and decided to go. The eel bowl is 1500 yen. To be able to eat domestic eel at this price is truly a blessing! The meat is tender, and you can add extra sauce and sansho pepper at the counter. I also want to come at night. The turnover is good, so even though there was a line, we were able to get in relatively quickly. In the midst of high prices, this cost performance is amazing!

Unagi Donburi - 1,100 yen
Feeling a strong craving for eel, I decided to visit Unadon Masaru after a long time. It had been 4 months since my last visit with my first child at night, and about 3 years since my last visit during the day. I arrived at the restaurant just before noon. Despite the scorching heat, there was a line of about 10 people. However, there are seats available on the second floor, and the turnover is quick. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I was seated at the counter on the first floor. Looking around the restaurant, there were 2-3 groups of customers, in addition to individual customers. They were ordering popular items like the double unagi bowl, eel rice bowl, and beer, with seniors treating juniors, creating a heartwarming scene. After a few minutes, my unagi bowl arrived. I sprinkled some sansho pepper and took a bite. The savory aroma rising from the grilled eel, and the tender texture immediately reminded me of the taste of Unadon Masaru. I added a bit more sauce, alternating between bites of soup and pickles, savoring each mouthful. The rice was plump and delicious, making every bite enjoyable. As I was enjoying my meal, a group of 3 customers left, and two new customers entered. Although we were seated apart, one of them said, "Please let me take care of the bill." The atmosphere of this restaurant is truly wonderful. My stomach and heart were both satisfied. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I finished my errands and headed to a restaurant I had been eyeing, only to find out that they hadn't received their shipment of sardines yet and were unable to serve the dish I wanted. So, I quickly changed my plans and decided to go to Unadon restaurant instead. I was nervous about how crowded it might be, but to my surprise, there was no line at all. A bit anticlimactic, but lucky for me. I was seated on the second floor in a private booth and ordered the double-sized Unadon. It arrived in about 5 minutes, which was impressive. However, the eel seemed a bit smaller than before. I prefer my rice to be firm, so the soft rice was a letdown for me. Unadon is a great place for salarymen as it offers good value for money, but the eel was still very tender to the point of melting, and the soft rice was disappointing. Considering the current situation, I understand the need for price increases, but it's still disappointing. Nevertheless, I appreciate that they don't use Chinese eel at this price point. The sauce was lightly applied, so I used the extra sauce on the table to finish my meal. Perhaps due to the Obon holiday, there were still no lines outside the restaurant when I left. I know they used to have long lines before opening, so it felt a bit lonely. I hope they continue to provide delicious eel for salarymen, and I look forward to visiting again soon, as I haven't been there in a while.

Hello everyone. Good afternoon. This is ZMA. Today's review is a request from a follower in Nagoya. They asked if there is a cheap unagi bowl in Tokyo. I found a place called "Unamasa" in Kanda that offers the cheapest unagi bowl in Tokyo. They use natural eel and have been open since 1983. The prices are very reasonable, with the unagi bowl priced at ¥1100. The restaurant opens at 10:30 am and there is usually a small line even before opening. The taste is good, with the eel being soft and delicious. Overall, it's a great place to enjoy affordable and tasty unagi in Tokyo. Thank you and see you next time.

On the weekend, I had some business at an exhibition at Tokyo Dome and on my way back, I made a detour to Kanda. I used to go to Unadon Masaya a long time ago and it was cheap and delicious back then. I was surprised to see about 5 people in line, but I was quickly seated on the second floor. Even though the Unadon bowl would have been satisfying enough, I decided to splurge and ordered the Matsutake Unaju. It cost 2300 yen, but as you can see in the photo, it was amazing! I was completely satisfied.

I had work in Kanda, so I decided to go to Unatoto based on everyone's reviews. It was crowded, but the turnover was fast and I was able to enter in less than 10 minutes. I ordered the double eel bowl for 2,000 yen! The quality for this price is amazing. Eel is expensive these days and there are long lines. If you go when it's less busy, it might already be sold out, which made me sad before. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again, next time for the premium eel bowl for 3,400 yen!
