At the moment, my favorite ramen shop. It has relocated and while the counter remains the same, the seating capacity has increased and the operation seems to have become smoother. The taste of the ramen is still as delicious as before.

Chuka soba Nikaido Ajitama Tsukemen [¥1250] Noodle extra serving [¥100] - Visit date: August 10, 2023, Thursday, 19:26~ - Nearest station: Kudanshita Station on various lines - Business hours: Monday to Friday 11:00-15:00, 18:00-20:30, Saturday 11:30-15:00 - Closed on Sundays This time, it was a long-awaited revisit to Nikaido in Kudanshita!! While the summer limited menu caught my eye, this time I opted for the Tsukemen. It's my second visit since the relocation and renovation. Nearby spots like Nakajiro and TOMO make Kudanshita quite a competitive area. Upon entering the store, there is a ticket machine on the left. The kitchen is in front, and there are stylish counter seats in a U-shape on the right. The atmosphere is nice, and there were many female customers. It's also great that they don't use chemical seasonings. The Tsukemen was delicious. When in doubt about where to go in Kudanshita, Nikaido is a reliable choice. *This is purely my personal impression. #Nikaido #AjitamaTsukemen #KudanshitaGourmet #NipponBudokan #Ramen #RamenLover #RamenInstagram #RamenTour #WantToConnectWithRamenLovers

Tsukemen (regular size) for 1,100 yen. It had been about a year since my last visit. I went on a weekday around 1:30 pm. The restaurant was about 80% full. I purchased my meal ticket from the ticket machine on the left hand side. I was shown to my seat and handed over the ticket. When asked about the noodle portion, I opted for regular size. The dipping sauce was on the lighter side, slightly salty. The salad-like cabbage and bean sprouts were a nice addition, as the tsukemen alone would have been lacking in vegetables. It tasted delicious when dipped in the sauce. Towards the end of my meal, without saying anything, a pot of soup stock was brought to my table. Mixing the stock into the dipping sauce and adding the sudachi (a type of citrus fruit) on top of the noodles created a wonderfully Japanese flavor. It was incredibly delicious.

The ticket machine at this shop only accepts cash. I arrived around 6:30 pm on Tuesday and it wasn't too crowded. I chose the tsukemen (dipping noodles) and was surprised to see that you could choose the amount of noodles - either 220g for regular or 300g for medium. The price on the ticket is the same for both, so you have to tell the staff your choice. The aroma of other customers' tsukemen was appetizing. When my order arrived, I was surprised to see a separate plate of bean sprouts. The dipping sauce even had slices of pork in it. I regretted choosing the medium size (300g) as it was a lot of food. The noodles were chewy and had a satisfying texture. The dipping sauce was salty with a noticeable amount of oil, but the sweetness and acidity from the onions balanced it out. The bean sprouts helped refresh my palate. For 1100 yen, the portion size was quite a good deal. It was a very hearty bowl of tsukemen.

Before the end of the cold Chinese noodles! It's been a long time since I visited Nikaido. The timing was bad with a long line. It felt like the second round of full seats, but the breeze was pleasant. I completely forgot that the noodles were large and ordered cold Chinese noodles. I tried to finish it, but suddenly my stomach swelled and I couldn't quite make it. The thick noodles for tsukemen, bean sprouts, half-boiled egg, tomato, cucumber, char siu were beautifully arranged. The spicy peanut sesame sauce had a strong kick. It was delicious!

I found this restaurant about a month ago and the food was so good that I had to come back. I ordered the large serving of spicy dipping noodles. It had a sweet and spicy flavor and wasn't too spicy. The noodles were chewy and smooth. It also came with a salad-like dish with cabbage and bean sprouts. It wasn't very tasty on its own, but when you put it in the dipping sauce as an ingredient, it tasted delicious. Next time, I'll try the ramen.

"Nikaido" is a popular ramen shop located below the ninth floor, which does not use chemical seasonings. I had the Illico cold noodles and Keema curry rice set for 1200 yen. The refreshing jelly-like dipping sauce with Illico flavor is perfect for summer. The specially ordered noodles made from Hokkaido wheat are chewy and smooth with a nice texture. The chashu comes in two varieties, rare pork shoulder loin and rare chicken breast. The Keema curry rice bowl is undeniably delicious. It was delicious. New discovery. I tried the Ajitama Tsukemen with a medium serving of 300g (same price as the regular 220g) with konbu-infused water. I opted for medium thick noodles cooked soft, and the portion size was just right. The soup was a lightly flavored soy sauce base, and the chashu was slightly fatty and tender, quite delicious. However, the wonton was just average, and the konbu-infused water had no taste at all, which was disappointing. I arrived at 13:40 on a rainy Friday, and there were three available seats. My bowl arrived at 13:48, and I left the restaurant at 14:00, with many seats available. The restaurant is a 3-minute walk from Kudanshita Station. Nikaido, 1-9-14 Kudan-kita, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.

Tsukemen with seasoned soft-boiled egg. The noodles were smooth and had a good firmness, with a flavorful dipping sauce. The soft and juicy meat on top of the noodles was separate from the simmered pork in the sauce. The seasoned egg had a nice semi-soft texture and gentle flavor. Overall, it was on the mild side, which I like. There were plenty of vegetables, which was good. However, even the regular size portion made me really full (laughs).

Visit date and time: Before 1 p.m. on Saturday. The restaurant was almost full inside with no waiting time. A few people were waiting by the time we finished eating. Ordered: Cold soy milk noodles with drooling chicken. Portion size: Average. The noodles matched perfectly with the cold soy milk soup. It was delicious. I am curious about trying other menu items.

I had the Cold Tamago-iri Iriko Soba for 1200 yen. The chilled Iriko broth was perfect for a hot day. The texture of the chicken breast, char siu, cucumber, menma, and wakame toppings was delightful. I regret leaving the warm egg until the end while slurping the noodles. I ended up drinking the remaining cold soup with it. I pointed out that the customer guidance in front of the shop lacked consideration, and they had corrected it. I'm not sure if they read my post, but the shop's sincere response to customer feedback was excellent.

I found an incredibly delicious dipping noodles shop near my company. I ordered the spicy dipping noodles and pork belly rice bowl. The spicy dipping noodles had a sweet and savory flavor with just the right amount of spiciness. The noodles were chewy and smooth. The pork belly rice bowl with ginger sauce was also amazing, with flavorful sauce and tender pork belly. It came with a salad of cabbage and bean sprouts, which wasn't very tasty on its own but tasted great when dipped in the sauce. Highly recommended.

I joined my boss for dinner. I chose Chinese soba and Keema curry bowl. The Chinese soba brought back nostalgic feelings due to my age. The simple flavor of the soup condensed the umami of the ingredients, and the straight noodles went well with it. The optional Keema curry had distinctive minced meat with a slightly chewy cartilage texture, which stimulated my appetite. I usually skip carbs for dinner, so maybe I'll get off one station early today and walk.

I ordered the Ajitama Tsukemen. The dipping sauce was a mix of soy sauce and seafood flavors. The noodles were thin, and it came with sudachi, sliced pork, seaweed, and a boiled egg. There was also a side salad, which I wasn't sure how to eat since there was no sauce on the table, so I ended up dipping it in the sauce. The taste was delicious, but since I prefer seafood flavors, I found it a bit lacking towards the end. The regular size portion was just right to fill me up. I would definitely go back if I have the chance.

I tried the No.1 udon in Tokyo on a food review website and decided to visit this restaurant for comparison. I ordered the cold iriko soba and seared pork belly bowl for ¥450. The soup had a gel-like texture with a hint of chicken flavor along with the iriko. However, it had a slight off-taste that I didn't enjoy from the first bite. The aftertaste was lacking and the overall impression was weak. The ingredients on the plate were not outstanding or refined. The noodles had a good texture, firm and well-cooked, but the bowl lacked in the searing technique of the pork. The sauce was too thick and blurry.

Counter-style ramen restaurant with a specialty in tsukemen (dipping noodles), and seasonal limited-time menu items. It's recommended to check the menu beforehand at the ticket machine by the entrance to make the process smoother. I ordered the tsukemen with extra boiled egg and additional chashu. The tsukemen came with boiled vegetables and was quite filling even without the extra chashu. The noodles were served in a dish with soup, giving off a fragrant broth when eaten as is. The dipping sauce contained chunks of chashu, green onions, and bamboo shoots, among other ingredients. The flavor was tangy and refreshing, not overly salty like some other tsukemen I've had. Notes: - Self-service paper aprons are available - Cold summer menu items look delicious - The extra chashu was sizable - The soup refill was too much after such a filling meal - The boiled egg was perfectly soft and creamy.

During summer vacation, I decided to search for a ramen shop nearby on Tabelog and found a promising one that opened about a year ago. I visited right after the opening and it was already full, showing its popularity. The soy sauce ramen was simple but incredibly delicious, and the tsukemen noodles were chewy and matched well with the regular tsukemen. This ramen shop is of high quality.

Visited on a weekday night in August 2023 for the first time. The restaurant "Nikaido" was originally established in 1997 in Nishi-Shinjuku as "Ramen Sugi," then changed its name to "Men Shokudo Sugi Hon-ten." In 2016, it relocated to Kudanshita and changed its name to "Nikaido." Last year, in 2022, it moved to its current address due to the demolition of the building. Arrived at 8:00 PM and found only one seat available at the counter. Ordered the "Cold Iriko Soba" for ¥1100. The dish had a playful touch with distinct Iriko fish outlines floating on top, accompanied by the umami of kombu. The noodles were straight and medium-thin, with a firm and chewy texture. The soup seemed slightly salty when tasted alone, but the noodles balanced it out perfectly, resulting in a delicious climax with each slurp. The toppings included chashu pork, menma bamboo shoots, cucumber, wakame seaweed, kaiware radish sprouts, lemon, and green onions. The chashu pork consisted of two types: rare pork shoulder and rare chicken breast, both coated with black pepper on the outer layer, resembling pastrami. The generous amount of wakame seaweed added an elegant flavor when slurped with the noodles, creating a delightful combination. The cucumber also paired well, making it a remarkable dish.

I didn't realize when I had the cold Illico soba before, but it's actually included in the weekday lunch set! It wasn't listed on the main sign, so I thought it was only available for hot menu items! I saw a review somewhere saying that even though they have a social media account, they're not very good at updating their closure information. I hope they fix the main sign properly. Anyway, I had the lunch set with seared meat mayo rice. The rice that comes with it for an extra 100 yen is the best??? It tasted exactly as it looked, delicious. I ate most of the rice, leaving a bit, and then poured the soup over it to finish it off. I'm always a bit concerned about the strong saltiness and the fatty chashu on top of the cold noodles, but the taste is good so I'll be back again soon.

On June 25, 2022, I visited the restaurant that was featured on TBS's "Ousama no Branch" for their delicious cold noodles. Last year, I tried their Cold Illico Soba, but this year I decided to go for their Cold Ramen, a recipe that has been passed down for over 30 years. I ordered the Cold Ramen for 1,200 yen, which was a 100 yen increase from last year. The restaurant was moderately busy when I arrived around 2 pm. I sat at the counter and handed over my food ticket. The Cold Ramen was served beautifully with noodles, bean sprouts, pickled ginger, a half-flavored boiled egg, and additional toppings on the side. The sesame sauce was also provided separately. The noodles had a nice texture and were cooked just right. They tasted delicious when mixed with the sauce. The portion of toppings was quite generous, and when combined with the noodles, it provided a satisfying meal. I added the sesame sauce halfway through and it added a rich flavor to the dish. Mixing the original sauce with the sesame sauce created a perfect blend that enhanced the overall taste. After finishing the noodles and enjoying a refreshing drink, I realized I was the last customer left in the restaurant as it was close to closing time. I have tried various noodles at this restaurant, but so far, the Cold Ramen is my personal favorite.

I think I've been going to this place too often in a short period of time, but I can't help but choose it for its overall high score. On this day, it was relatively cool so I tried the spicy tsukemen for the first time. The mild soup paired well with the kelp water and was delicious. The chashu, which can be greasy when cold, was a perfect match for the warm dipping sauce. Lemon also goes well with it. The spiciness was just a mild kick with a hint of sweetness, so adding plenty of shichimi on top made it even more to my liking. I was happy that warm vegetables with seasoning were included. I didn't think it was too salty, so I understand that the cold version is tuned slightly stronger in saltiness. I would like them to reduce it just enough so it's not overpowering.

Nikaido @ Kudanshita - It's been a while since I visited Nikaido, especially since they moved. I've always liked this place, but due to temporary closures, I hadn't been able to visit for a while. They have revamped their menu, so it was like a new experience for me. I usually prefer their cold tsukemen, but this time I tried their new main menu item, tsukemen, and it was a great choice! The chicken-based broth was light and well-balanced. I also liked that they served the vegetables on a separate plate. It was delicious and exceeded my expectations, making me very happy. Additionally, the nearby Excelsior was a comfortable place to work, which put me in an even better mood. I plan to revisit soon. #Ramen #Tsukemen #Noodlestagram #RamenInstagram #TokyoRamen #Nikaido #KudanshitaGourmet #ChukaSobaNikaido
