I took a break at the miso soup specialty store on the 1st floor of Tokyo Solamachi. I ordered the soy milk and scallop miso potage. The delicate and delicious broth was satisfying, with ingredients like taro and enoki mushrooms. You can also have it with onigiri, making it perfect for breakfast or lunch. There were many female customers. I would like to try other menu items if I have the chance.

Spicy tuna rice ball, soft-boiled egg, a cup of seasoned soy sauce, and two delicious seaweed sheets make for a simple breakfast. The warm and cozy atmosphere allows for a relaxing start to the day, keeping you energized all day long. Don't worry about the small space, there are plenty of seats on the second floor so you won't have to wait in line for a long time.

The restaurant gets quite crowded as soon as it opens, both on weekends and weekdays. It's noticeable that there are many foreign visitors as well. The morning menu offers a daily changing miso soup, and you can choose your own onigiri. I visited twice, and both times I felt that I wished the miso flavor in the soup was stronger. There aren't many places in Asakusa that offer breakfast other than cafes, so it's a valuable spot in that sense.

I visited on a regular morning! There was a line in front of the store, with 2 groups waiting. I entered the store, ordered at the register, and was guided to the second floor seating. I was looking forward to the miso soup with braised pork that I had researched on SNS, but unfortunately it was only available during certain hours (10:00-). I ended up disappointed with just regular miso soup and rice ball.

MISOJYU Set: Miso soup + 1 onigiri + half boiled egg + pickles + 3 small side dishes for 1,680 yen. I couldn't decide between salmon, spicy tuna, or mentaiko for the onigiri as one seemed enough to fill me up. The staff kindly waited as I pondered. The pork in the miso soup was tender with a nice bounce, the miso had a strong sweetness and richness, and the crispy skin with juicy chicken was delicious. It was my favorite taste in the set. Thank you for the meal! (⁎ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈⁎)

I arrived at the restaurant at 12:00 on Sunday. I waited for about 40 minutes before being seated. I ordered a set meal with braised pork belly miso soup, one rice ball, and three small side dishes. The tofu with rock salt was the most delicious. The rice ball was small, and the miso soup had plenty of large cut vegetables, giving it a satisfying and gentle flavor.

Visited with a friend on a trip to Tokyo. Arrived around 9:30 am on a Sunday morning and there were about 10 groups ahead of us in line. It was a hot day in July, so we appreciated the free umbrellas provided in front of the store. We waited for about an hour. We ordered from the breakfast menu and sat on the second floor. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was broken and it was very hot. The food, including onigiri and miso soup, was tasty but didn't quite live up to the long wait.

Morning set for ¥600 includes today's miso soup, onigiri, half boiled egg, and pickles. The miso soup had eggplant, daikon, and green onions, packed with veggies and very satisfying. The onigiri with flavorful mentaiko cheese was warm and delicious. You can add more items for an additional fee. The waiting time was 20 minutes before opening with 2 groups waiting, 10 minutes before with 10 groups, and 5 minutes before with 15 groups. It was full within 10 minutes of opening. The seating is limited and you might have to share a table, so it's better to arrive 20-30 minutes early if you want to get in on the first round. However, the turnover is fast so the wait might not be too long.

I had been curious about this restaurant. They offer miso soup with lots of ingredients, and I was able to fully enjoy it. You can choose one onigiri as a set, but I was so indecisive that I ended up adding a second one. However, the miso soup alone was quite filling. I may have ordered too much, but the onigiri was delicious, so I ended up finishing everything. I am interested in trying other flavors, so I would like to come back again.

I lined up for about 30 minutes from around 1:00 on Sunday. The pork miso soup had large ingredients, and the spicy braised pork had a punch, making it very satisfying to eat. Overall, it was not the typical Japanese taste, but a unique twist that was very interesting.

"I went to 'Misoju' in Asakusa to have stylish onigiri. When I arrived before opening, there was already a line of about 10 groups, showing that it is a popular place. Many of the people in line were from overseas, indicating that onigiri culture is well received by foreigners. After the store opened, we were able to get in right away, and it turned out to be their anniversary day, so we got an extra onigiri for free. Lucky us! It's great to have affordable onigiri, seasoned egg, and miso soup for breakfast. If this place was nearby, I would definitely be a regular customer."

Miso soup specialty store. It was the best place for me to have a Japanese breakfast alone. As it is a miso soup specialty store, the main dish is miso soup. The bowl is big. There was plenty of pork miso soup and braised pork which was nice. It was delicious with sweet miso. I chose the rice ball with dried bonito and sansho pepper mixed with brown rice. The rice ball was okay. I think it's a cafe that is easy to visit even for one person!

I visited this restaurant for the second time because I wanted to casually enjoy Japanese food. If you want more details, please check out my previous review. Once again, I waited for about 40 minutes. This time, I ordered the miso soup with pork belly and rice ball with dried seasoned cod. The miso soup had lots of ingredients and the flavor of the meat broth really warmed me up. Miso soup is a mysterious dish that always soothes me. The pork belly miso soup was delicious as expected. The rice ball had a nice kick of sansho pepper, but as I mentioned before, I prefer it freshly made or just made. I'm not a fan of cold rice. The half-cooked egg and teriyaki chicken that came with it was a nice touch. It's a satisfying meal that fills you up. This restaurant is still very popular.

The set meal of hearty vegetable and pork stew with miso soup costs 1518 yen. The set includes a spicy tuna onigiri. If you order the pork stew alone, it costs 968 yen, but for an additional 550 yen, you can upgrade to a set which includes an onigiri, half a boiled egg, and three side dishes. The side dishes this time were salted koji tofu, pickles, and chicken (details forgotten). The pork stew is filled with burdock, daikon, carrots, and tender pork belly. The pork belly melts in your mouth. In addition to the pork belly, there is also pork meat in the stew, making it very satisfying. The miso soup was so delicious that the onigiri seemed relatively ordinary in comparison. As a result, several young men were seen ordering miso soup alone. The restaurant has two floors, with single diners usually seated on the first floor and groups on the second floor. The first floor has a counter facing the staff's work area, with small tables and chairs placed closely together. It's a good place to have a quick meal and leave. The pork stew was really delicious.

- I arrived 30 minutes before the opening, but there was already a line. I just made it in for the first round. I waited in the rain with my umbrella. - Breakfast costs around 600 yen, and you can choose miso soup and your favorite onigiri. This time, I chose salmon. - The taste was as expected, nothing surprising, but it was good. If it's near my workplace, it's a good breakfast option, but I wouldn't visit specifically for this. - If I have some errands to run, I might go, that kind of feeling.

It was my first time visiting a rice ball specialty store. I was surprised to see a long line even though I went in the morning! I had the breakfast set! Each rice ball had its own uniqueness and looked so delicious that I wanted to try them all. I ordered a brown rice rice ball. Everything, including the miso soup, was delicious and I was very satisfied.

I visited this place for the first time and tried their morning set. It's a miso soup specialty store, which I used to like when it was in Roppongi. The morning set was full of ingredients, with mushrooms, spinach, and fried tofu. I also added salmon and salted rice balls, and even spicy tuna. This is definitely the correct Japanese breakfast. The lunch is around ¥1,500, so the ¥660 morning set is a good deal, and the lunch miso soup is also full of ingredients and delicious.

■Morning Set [Brown Rice Onigiri] This is a popular onigiri and miso soup specialty shop in Asakusa. A second store, located under the Tokyo Skytree, in Tokyo Solamachi, opened on March 24, 2023. I arrived around 7:50 am, one hour before the store opened on a Sunday, and there was no line. I wandered around for a bit and returned 30 minutes before opening to find about 20 people already waiting. The turnover was quick, and by 9:30 am, 30 minutes after opening, I was able to enter. The morning menu is a set (with boiled egg and pickles), with only one type of miso soup available each day, and a choice of about six different onigiri.

I started lining up around 11:30 on Saturday and entered the restaurant after about 30 minutes. Despite having a lot of staff, they didn't seem to move efficiently. This led to slow turnover and gave the impression of a deliberately staged long line. The miso soup they are known for had large vegetables and pork in it, providing a satisfying meal, but the seasoning was just average. Also, since the meal was a set menu, there was only a small cup of tea for hydration, making it difficult to ask for refills as the staff seemed busy. The food was salty and made me very thirsty. Overall, I didn't feel that the restaurant was worth waiting in line for based on the above points.

The restaurant's capacity is not very large, so I always had the impression that it was crowded, but luckily we were able to get in on this day! A miso soup specialty shop, it seems common yet surprisingly rare, and it fits perfectly in this town of Asakusa. The hearty vegetable and pork miso soup set for 1518 yen includes miso soup, a choice of onigiri, simmered egg, 2 small side dishes, pickles, and water sprout tea. As expected, with miso soup as the main dish, the pork miso soup is huge! It's about twice the size of a regular bowl, with plenty of pork belly and lots of vegetables. The flavor of the pork belly comes out nicely, and it's delicious. It's a satisfying meal with a good amount of volume, with plenty of meat and other side dishes, making it a high satisfaction set meal. Being a tourist spot, the price is a bit high, and with the increasing number of foreign tourists these days, the demand is likely to rise even further. Since they open at 8 am, I recommend coming early before it gets crowded. ☺︎
