This restaurant has been in business for many decades. Just as I described Love Lasserie as "Japanese French", Enshu-ya is truly "Japanese fish cuisine". I usually order the tuna bowl for lunch. The tuna is mixed with delicious medium fatty tuna, priced at 790 yen (tuna sliced into pieces is included in the daily special set meal for 750 yen), and if you order a large serving, you will be surprised by the amount. Considering the price and quality of the fish, I think it offers great value for money. The tuna is carefully selected, and as far as I know in Tokyo, there are no other restaurants like this in the present day. In the evening, if you order the medium fatty tuna, you will get a great quality selection by the owner at an affordable price, which I like. The smiling proprietress and the hardworking older ladies... it feels like a shop frozen in time. Maintaining things that never change is an extremely valuable shop that makes us realize the importance of this in today's society and for Japanese people. In the evening, we mainly use it for banquets, with prices ranging from 3,000 to 4,000 yen for banquets, up to over 20,000 yen, showing the wide range of options that can be accommodated thanks to the owner's daily discerning eye at the fish market and the craftsmen's skills. I spoke with the young owner after a long time and was impressed by his extensive knowledge of various fishing grounds. He loves fishing and his stories about various fish and regions are enjoyable and educational. The taxidermy of the jumping char is amazing. Each sincere attitude towards fish is linked to fish cuisine, and the efforts and dedication to fish are ingrained in the body, showing how these efforts and things are passed down, which is valuable and wonderful. Tradition and inheritance start from places like this, I believe. Maintaining prices in this high-cost era requires considerable effort. I think it's important to be reminded of the daily efforts and dedication in any job, and I feel that restaurants like this are wonderful.

In a world where price increases are common, a shoutout to the restaurant offering ankou (monkfish) hot pot at this price - thank you for your efforts! I visited this place for a late New Year's party based on a friend's recommendation. The ankou hot pot course caught my interest as I had never tried it before. With all-you-can-drink included, the price was around 6000 yen, which was quite reasonable. What surprised me even more was the contents of the course! It included appetizers, chawanmushi, sashimi, grilled dishes, tempura, and more. Each dish was well-prepared and the portion sizes were impressive. The sashimi, in particular, was outstanding. By the time we reached the hot pot, everyone was already quite satisfied and tipsy. The ankou hot pot was a clear broth at first, but once the ingredients were added, it transformed into a rich and flavorful miso-like soup. The richness of the ankou, especially the liver, added a burst of flavor to the soup. My first impression of ankou was that the white meat was light and refreshing, but the various textures of the skin and organs, as well as the intensity of the fat, reminded me of offal dishes like hormone. The rich broth, different from typical ankou hot pots, seemed to complement these textures well. The meal ended with a filling porridge, and the amount of rice was impressive. Despite feeling full and a bit drunk, the combination of the rich broth and rice was unexpectedly delicious, and I ended up eating three bowls by myself. I quickly finished the hot pot, feeling completely satisfied. I believe that dishes like ankou belong to the same high-end category as fugu or ara, and while the cost of ingredients may be high, the restaurant's efforts to offer this quality of food at a reasonable price deserve respect in a time where price hikes are common.

Summer is the season for conger eel, and my friend and I were craving it, so we found this restaurant on Gurunavi. It's hard to find restaurants that specialize in conger eel dishes, but this one had good reviews on Tabelog. We decided to try the course menu with conger eel and sweetfish, which looked delicious. Since there were only two of us, we couldn't get the all-you-can-drink option for groups of 3 or more, so we ordered drinks a la carte. The restaurant was located near Tawaramachi rather than Asakusa, about a 3-minute walk away. When we arrived, our reservation name was posted outside. We were seated on the second floor in a tatami room where we had to take off our shoes. The seasonal conger eel and sweetfish course cost 5,000 yen and included various dishes like appetizers, steamed egg custard, grilled sweetfish, conger eel sashimi, conger eel tempura, assorted tempura, conger eel soup, sushi, and dessert. We started with bottled beer for a toast, and although there were many types of sake available, some were sold out. The dishes kept coming out quickly, almost too quickly, with the tempura arriving before we finished the appetizers. We asked for the sushi to be served an hour later, and it was mostly rolls but still satisfying. The conger eel was particularly delicious, with a firm and succulent texture. The menu had many conger eel dishes available a la carte, so next time I'd like to try ordering individually and take my time. There were also larger groups dining for business meetings, but it seemed like most people were ordering a la carte rather than the course menu. I'm interested in trying other dishes next time. We ended up spending less than 10,000 yen per person, but we may have overindulged in drinks.

Sashimi and sushi were delicious, and the homemade plum wine sour was also delicious! The eel liver skewers were amazing!! The restaurant is in an old two-story house. We drank quite a bit with three people and the cost performance was good. It's a nice place to relax and drink with a small group. We were looking for a Japanese restaurant where we could drink after the Asakusa Hoozuki Market and found this place on Tabelog because of its high rating. We would definitely want to visit this restaurant again if we are in the Asakusa area.

I used the lunch time for a work meeting. We arrived before 12 o'clock, so we were able to enter smoothly without any waiting time. I personally don't mind the somewhat chaotic atmosphere inside the restaurant. I ordered the sashimi set, and my colleague ordered the eel rice bowl (pictured). The eel took some time to cook, so there was a slight delay in serving. Both dishes were delicious and satisfying. Since it can also be used as an izakaya at night, I would like to come back next time to enjoy some drinks with fish.

I made a reservation through Tabelog and visited the restaurant. As soon as I entered, a waitress who seemed like the head of the staff greeted me. She wasn't unfriendly though, haha. I sat down and ordered a few dishes. Summary: 1) The food took a while to come out. 2) Grilled ayu fish was good, as well as the Katsuo sashimi. 3) The sushi is not their specialty, so it was just okay. 4) The grilled chicken wings were good. 5) It's better to make a reservation before going. Overall, it was decent. The sushi was average since it's not a sushi restaurant, but I might consider going back. Thank you for the meal.

On our third visit, my wife and I used this restaurant for entertaining guests. The seasonal dishes were delicious, as well as the drinks. This time we had the tilefish hot pot. We had a private room, which allowed us to leisurely enjoy our food and drinks. The second and third floors have spacious banquet halls, which can be accessed by an elevator. The upper floors were lively with large groups, but the first floor was quieter, which was nice.

The boiled fish set meal costs 750 yen. This price is quite reasonable in the Asakusa area. The dish was carefully prepared with a flavorful broth. It comes with rice, miso soup, a side dish, and a raw egg. It was crowded on Saturday, so I was told that the boiled fish would take some time. I enjoyed a leisurely wait while drinking a beer. Thank you for a luxurious time!

Daily specials, grilled fish, fried set meals, etc. for 750 yen. Unagi bowl for 980 yen, making it a cost-effective restaurant. Order: - Seafood bowl set meal for 880 yen The seafood bowl may look a bit plain, but the fresh slices were delicious. The vinegar in the sushi rice was just right. It was tasty. There were two side dishes, one tangy and one sweet, which complemented the meal well. The side dishes were marinated horse mackerel, seaweed, and flying fish roe, as well as simmered dried daikon and cuttlefish. Miscellaneous: The restaurant has a layout with several tatami rooms on the first and second floors. It gives off a nostalgic vibe, like a grandmother's house in the countryside.

I had the "Unadon (980 yen)" for lunch. It came on a tray with miso soup and pickles. I wasn't expecting much for under 1,000 yen, but the eel was tender and not fishy at all. The sauce was not too sweet and very tasty. This was a great value for the price. The seating in the sunken floor area was relaxing, making it a nice lunch experience.

I visited the restaurant on a regular night without a reservation, so I was seated on the first floor. The first floor is not very spacious, but it has a cozy atmosphere with table seating. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes and drinks at affordable prices, making it a great place to visit regularly if it's nearby. This restaurant is more about a comforting traditional Japanese dining experience rather than special services, and it's a place to go when you crave a cozy and reassuring Japanese meal.

On Saturday, when I went to Asakusa, it was very crowded. By a little after 11 o'clock, the restaurants had long lines, so I decided to avoid the crowds and have lunch at Tawaramachi on the Ginza Line. I entered the restaurant at 11:35, just 5 minutes after it opened. The first floor had 3 tables for 4 people and 2 tables for 2 people, and it was almost full. I ended up sitting alone at a 2-person table near the entrance. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the usual 790 yen "tuna sashimi set meal" is discounted to 750 yen, so I ordered the "daily set meal 7" without hesitation. The daily set meal was served in about 10 minutes. The tuna sashimi was a bit on the smaller side with only 5 slices, but it was delicious. The side dish of pickled radish had a nice dashi flavor and was tasty. The pickles were refreshing and delicious. I was surprised to see that it came with a raw egg! Rice and miso soup for the set meal are free for refills. Although I didn't get a refill this time, you can have another bowl of rice with the tuna sashimi or with raw egg on top. Thank you for the meal.

It's been a long time since I went to Enshu-ya. It is a long-established seafood restaurant located about a 2-minute walk from Toranomon Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line. I went with a former colleague from my previous company and his daughter. Enshu-ya is a fairly large establishment with seating on the basement floor to the third floor. We were seated on the basement floor. The appetizer was chawanmushi, which was tasty but a bit cold. We ordered a sashimi platter for three, which included tuna, yellowtail, red snapper, scallops, octopus, etc. The sashimi was very delicious, especially the tuna. The yellowtail simmered in daikon radish was also popular and had a great flavor. The cold yellowtail shabu-shabu was ordered by the people at the next table and it was rich in flavor with plenty of vegetables. Enshu-ya is a reliable choice for seafood near Asakusa. They have a wide variety of menu options to choose from.

Today was a day to go to the office and I had lunch with my close friend in the neighborhood. My friend was in the mood for fish, so we went to Enshuya. I had the Edo-style nigiri sushi (900 yen) which mainly featured local fish. The rice was soft and the vinegar seasoning was subtle. The toppings were thick and satisfying. The wasabi was strong, making each bite a challenge... (tears) I decided that next time I will ask for no wasabi. Thank you for the meal.

The course was full of volume, and at the end, I had grilled tuna collar! There were many course menu options, the food was delicious, and I have been coming back for more. The courses were divided into teams focusing on golden eye snapper and anglerfish, and I enjoyed them both thoroughly. Everything was delicious.

Today, I visited here to try the limited tendon available only on certain days of the week. This restaurant, established over 50 years ago in Asakusa, is conveniently located near the Tobu Asakusa Station, making it a popular choice for those working in the area. The prices are reasonable, and you can enjoy a quiet meal. The lunch menu is extensive, with options other than tendon available at affordable prices, making it a recommended spot in the area. Upon arrival, I ordered the tendon set meal I came for. Shortly after, I heard the sound of frying, indicating the kitchen was nearby. The sound stopped, and my tendon set meal was promptly brought to me without much wait. The tempura was crispy, with two prawns and a slightly sweet sauce. All this for only 750 yen including tax is quite a deal. Another satisfying meal. Items ordered: - Tendon set meal (available only on Tuesdays and Fridays for lunch) - 750 yen ✔️ Located near Tobu Asakusa Station ✔️ Accepts PayPay ✔️ Extensive lunch menu with delicious fish options ✔️ Can get crowded during lunchtime

Today, after buying bread, I wanted to eat Japanese food nearby so I came here. I ordered "nigiri sushi for 900 yen." When it was served, I noticed that both the fish and rice were significantly smaller than before. It felt like it was almost half the size. I used to be very satisfied with 900 yen, but now I feel like it's worth around 580 yen. I'll look forward to the next time. Thank you for the meal.

I had a job near Kappabashi Bridge and was looking for lunch, so I checked on Tabelog. I found this restaurant nearby. Since it was a little before lunchtime, I was able to enter without any trouble. I had the seafood bowl set meal. There were many autographs of celebrities on the walls, so it seems to be a famous long-established store. The fish dishes for dinner looked delicious.

At the end of the year, it seemed like the spread of the new coronavirus was heading towards an end, but recently the expansion of the Omicron strain has been a topic of discussion. Just a while ago, we were hearing about the Delta strain in the news, but it seems to have changed. Omicron and Delta are originally named in order of Greek letters. The next word to come is apparently Pi, which we learned in math as 3.14. In Greek, "π" refers to the circumference, and it seems like they took the initials from that. Today's lunch is at #Enshu-ya. I had visited before at night, but I found out that they also serve lunch during the day, so I came for a fish-themed meal. When I asked about the simmered fish, I was told it was simmered mackerel in miso, so I chose that. It arrived within a minute of ordering, probably because they prepare a lot of lunch orders in advance. There were several side dishes, and despite being only 700 yen, it was a fulfilling meal. The tenderly simmered mackerel had just the right softness and a well-balanced flavor. The simmered daikon radish and squid dish was a gentle accompaniment that made me want to have some sake. The pickled mackerel and kelp also had a delicious taste that paired well with the rice. The large bowl of rice was very satisfying. I didn't notice before, as I was led to a second-floor tatami room, but upon closer inspection, there were various signatures of famous people, indicating that they have received many TV interviews. A restaurant that serves non-tourist fish dishes in Asakusa for lunch is rare, so I look forward to visiting again.

I visited a seafood restaurant in Tahara town on a Saturday night. We had a turtle hot pot course in a private room on the second floor. Turtle sashimi and seasonal sashimi course for 4800 yen, with draft beer and a bottle of white wine. The turtle sashimi was very fresh and delicious, even the liver was tasty. Other sashimi included bluefin tuna, octopus, and grunt. We also had chawanmushi made with turtle soup, which had a delicious broth. The turtle tempura was juicy and had a good balance of muscle texture. And then the turtle hot pot, with plenty of meat and collagen. The egg porridge made with the remaining soup was also delicious. Even the turtle jelly at the end was included in the full course at this unbelievable price. We enjoyed it very much. Thank you for the feast.

Around noon, I was lucky to get the last table. The second floor was fully booked with reservations today. I ordered the "Seafood Bowl for 850 yen." It had a variety of fish like tuna, salmon, sea bream, yellowtail, scallops, egg, and pickled vegetables. Although it looked a bit small, it was just enough to satisfy me. The sashimi here is really delicious. The raw baby sardine bowl at the next table also looked tasty. I wonder what I should try next time. I enjoyed my meal today as well. Thank you for the delicious food.
