Summer is the season for conger eel, and my friend and I were craving it, so we found this restaurant on Gurunavi. It's hard to find restaurants that specialize in conger eel dishes, but this one had good reviews on Tabelog. We decided to try the course menu with conger eel and sweetfish, which looked delicious. Since there were only two of us, we couldn't get the all-you-can-drink option for groups of 3 or more, so we ordered drinks a la carte. The restaurant was located near Tawaramachi rather than Asakusa, about a 3-minute walk away. When we arrived, our reservation name was posted outside. We were seated on the second floor in a tatami room where we had to take off our shoes. The seasonal conger eel and sweetfish course cost 5,000 yen and included various dishes like appetizers, steamed egg custard, grilled sweetfish, conger eel sashimi, conger eel tempura, assorted tempura, conger eel soup, sushi, and dessert. We started with bottled beer for a toast, and although there were many types of sake available, some were sold out. The dishes kept coming out quickly, almost too quickly, with the tempura arriving before we finished the appetizers. We asked for the sushi to be served an hour later, and it was mostly rolls but still satisfying. The conger eel was particularly delicious, with a firm and succulent texture. The menu had many conger eel dishes available a la carte, so next time I'd like to try ordering individually and take my time. There were also larger groups dining for business meetings, but it seemed like most people were ordering a la carte rather than the course menu. I'm interested in trying other dishes next time. We ended up spending less than 10,000 yen per person, but we may have overindulged in drinks.
