Dinner with a friend after 7 years, second visit. Last time, I had lunch alone. This time, we ordered two types of curry for dinner: Baked Cheese Curry and Seafood Curry to share. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with dim lighting and a record player with speakers playing English music in the background, which complimented the chic ambiance. Both curries were delicious, but if I had to choose one, I would go for the Seafood Curry as the flavors of the seafood blended well. The Baby Leaf Salad as a starter was also tasty, with homemade dressing. The Sweet Potato dessert was not too sweet, just right. The staff were elegant and welcoming. Overall, everything was great. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant around 12 pm on a weekday. There were 2 groups ahead of me, and I had to wait for about 30 minutes before being seated. Finally, I ordered the medium-spicy baked cheese beef curry! After another 15-minute wait, the piping hot baked cheese curry arrived!!! It had a mild spiciness and the heat made it delicious to eat slowly. The menu also recommends the medium-spicy option, and I agree. My husband ordered a spicy extra-large portion, but he struggled to eat it due to the heat. I also enjoy spicy food, but I believe the medium-spicy level is perfect in terms of taste. Sweet potato is served first, which is recommended to save as a palate cleanser. Overall, it was a great meal!

It was a fantastic antique shop located underground in the 3rd district. I went after 1 PM and was able to enter without much of a wait, but unfortunately they had already sold out of everything except for the Baked Cheese Curry and Seafood Curry 1. The Seafood Curry was the most delicious I have ever had.

Arrived at the restaurant at 11:15. Saw a sign at the entrance that said they open at 11:15 today. Went downstairs and found one person waiting in front of the store. They said it's not open yet. Waited outside for a while. Could hear a man, who seemed like the owner, shouting inside the store. It sounded like he was arguing with the waitress. More shouting followed. Felt sorry for them. Finally, the store opened around 11:30. The waitress remained composed. The interior looked like a jazz cafe with antique furniture, paintings, and decorations. Ordered the Baked Cheese Beef Curry. It arrived hot and fresh. The rice was hidden underneath the curry. The curry was spicy with a good balance when mixed with the baked cheese. However, it felt a bit powdery. The portion was about one bowl of rice. The curry was tasty, but not addictive. Noticed that the waitress seemed a bit off, which was a concern.

I visited on Saturday night! The hot and flavorful beef curry cheese bake was a favorite taste for me! The salad that came with the set was also very delicious, and the atmosphere of the restaurant, as well as the service of the staff, was very hospitable. The curry set at night costs 2,000 yen, and if you don't order a drink, there is a seating charge of 400 yen, which personally I found a bit over budget, but it was still delicious! Thank you for the meal ~

I operate a curry blog centered around the 23 wards of Tokyo. Did you know that there are a hundred curry shops in the Ginza area? I recently visited "3-chome Curry Shop," famous for its baked cheese curry! Sometimes, I just crave for this piping hot baked cheese curry. It's located within walking distance from Yurakucho Station and Ginza Ichome, with the nearest station being Takaracho, just a minute's walk away. Descending underground and opening the red door, you will be greeted by a spacious area with nice music playing. Perhaps it used to be a music studio, given the large recording system present, making one's inner musician stir. While the Seafood Curry also caught my eye, I decided to go with the "Baked Cheese Beef Curry" as it had been a while since my last visit! The mama brought a shovel-shaped spoon and sweet potato to the table. I was pondering when to eat the sweet potato, but it just hit me as I write this article now. Actually, I had to wait about 20 minutes from ordering until the curry was ready! This popular spot was quite crowded, and with the curry being baked in the oven, it naturally took some time! Be sure to be patient~ It arrived in a large oven dish, bubbling and simmering. You can see the curry boiling. The cheese has a crispy surface and melts gradually, creating a marble pattern. It's good to mix it all up or eat it layer by layer. The rich European-style curry, simmered with a variety of spices, fruits, and beef, lets you experience a luxurious feeling. I ordered a large portion and ended up feeling very full. Please note that they only accept cash for payment! I, being a cashless person, had to rush to the convenience store for cash (laughs).

I visited the café on a typical Thursday afternoon around 1 pm. It had an antique-style atmosphere with pleasant music playing in the background. There were only a couple of customers, so I was seated right away. I ordered the Baked Cheese Curry for 1600 yen (tax included) at medium spicy level. Before the curry arrived, they served a unique Sweet Potato "salad". After about 10 minutes, the main dish, Cheese Curry, was brought to me. It had a good balance of spiciness and sweetness, with a flavorful European-style curry base. It was really delicious.

Visited for lunch after work. I was walking from Yaesu towards Ginza, wondering where to have lunch today. Remembered not being able to enter this curry restaurant before, so decided to have lunch there today. The restaurant is located on B1, down the stairs and straight ahead. They said a table would open up soon, so I waited a little. While waiting, I received the menu and was told that they only had Baked Cheese Beef Curry today. I chose medium spicy with less rice. It took about 15 minutes from ordering to being served. It can be tricky if you're in a hurry, I thought. Eating hot curry from start to finish is absolutely delicious!! I also received a sweet potato dessert bite, which I had after the meal. The spicy curry goes well with the cheese. The price was a bit high at ¥1600, and I personally felt that the service could have been a bit faster.

I arrived at the restaurant during the evening opening hours. I ordered the baked cheese curry with salad. I had to wait for over 30 minutes for the salad to arrive, and then another 10 minutes for the curry. The curry was spicy with a hint of sweetness and tasted delicious. However, the wait time was way too long and the price of the curry was high, so I thought I probably wouldn't go back again.

I visited at night. The taste was undeniably delicious. It was piping hot and satisfying, which made me happy. However, the meal service was extremely slow, probably due to being understaffed. I arrived at 6:30 pm but the curry didn't arrive until 7:30 pm... There were only two groups ahead of us, so this was quite troublesome.

Located a 10-minute walk from Kyobashi Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line. I have tried various baked curries, including the famous Moji Port in Kitakyushu, but I can confidently say that this restaurant serves the most delicious baked curry I have ever had. Without a doubt, it is one of the best places for baked curry in Tokyo. Priced at 1600 yen, it is quite expensive, but the taste definitely justifies the price. The interior is reminiscent of a jazz cafe, with high-end audio equipment playing jazz standards constantly. The baked curry is cooked in an oven, so you will need to wait for about 30 minutes. It is best to pass the time by ordering a hot curry or iced coffee and reading a book.

3-chome Curry Shop is a popular curry restaurant located a 3-5 minute walk from Takaracho Station. Known for serving authentic European-style curries with a strong spice kick, this restaurant has been selected as one of the top 100 curry shops in Japan for five consecutive years since 2017. The restaurant opens at 6:30 pm, but it is recommended to arrive around the opening time as there may be delays due to preparation. During this visit, I tried the Baked Cheese Beef Curry with an order of Oolong Tea. If you do not order a drink, there is an additional charge of +400 yen, so ordering a drink is almost mandatory, with an average price range of around 3,000 yen per person. The meal started with a generous vegetable salad overflowing from the bowl, dressed with a sweet apple dressing that was appetizing and satisfying. The main dish, Baked Cheese Beef Curry, followed and it was a delectable combination of stretchy cheese, the sweetness and richness of the European-style curry, layered with the aroma of spices, served with warm oven-heated rice. The quality of the curry, coupled with the retro ambiance of the restaurant and attentive service, makes it a highly recommended spot for European-style curry lovers. Definitely worth a visit. Bon appétit!

Visited the restaurant around 2 pm on a holiday while out for a walk. I arrived slightly after the last order time, but the staff kindly checked with the kitchen and allowed me to enter! I received a warm welcome, and I really appreciated it. The retro exterior and interior of the restaurant gave off a nice atmosphere, and my impression was already at its peak at this point. I ordered the "Stone-baked Cheese Curry, medium spiciness." Before the curry arrived, a small sweet potato was served, with just the right amount of sweetness to whet my appetite even more. It took about 15 minutes for the curry to be served. The hot curry with melted cheese on top, and the fragrant roux touching the bowl, was a sight and scent to behold. The curry had simple ingredients with lots of small keema-style meat pieces, providing a satisfying eating experience. I hurried to finish my meal before closing time, so I'd like to visit next time and enjoy the restaurant's atmosphere at a more relaxed pace. In addition to the restaurant's atmosphere and food, the warm and friendly service from the staff is highly recommended.

Today, I was torn between bibimbap and curry and ended up coming to the curry restaurant! I ordered a large portion thinking I don't come here often, but ended up getting really full. It was delicious, but if asked if I want to eat it again, I'm not sure... The complimentary sweet potato was a nice touch with a rich flavor accentuated by the cheese ☺️

I chose this curry as my last supper before taking a break from Kyobashi for a while. I arrived around 12:30 and waited for about 18 minutes before being seated. I placed my order while waiting in line, so the curry was served about 5 minutes after being seated. The Beef Cheese Curry, medium spicy, was still sweet at the first bite, but the spiciness of the spices gradually intensified, creating a delightful complexity of flavors. The strong clove and unique bitterness give this curry a slightly mature vibe. The staff, with the Madame primarily handling the floor, were mainly younger ladies for meal service. Perhaps they're a family? It wasn't too crowded today, but the table resets and seating were a bit slow, which might bother someone impatient like me. However, this slow-paced service may suit the atmosphere of this restaurant. Since I won't be able to visit for a while, choosing this curry as a farewell meal was definitely a good decision. Thank you for the meal!

On July 29, 2023 (Saturday), I visited this restaurant with my daughter who wanted to eat curry. This was my first review since my initial visit, but in reality, this was my fourth visit (lol). However, all previous visits were on weekday evenings, and this was the first time visiting during lunchtime. Personally, I would rate the curry here as one of the top three in Tokyo without a doubt. We arrived at exactly 1:00 PM, and there were already 8 customers inside with seats being filled up quickly. While waiting for a table, we placed our order for the "Cheese Beef Curry," which we both came for. After about 18 minutes of waiting, we were seated, and just 17 minutes later, a small sweet potato was served as an appetizer. Finally, after an additional 5-minute wait, the long-awaited cheese curry arrived. The curry, covered with melted cheese, was bubbling hot, and as I dug in with a spoon, I uncovered the meticulously arranged white rice underneath. Upon tasting it, I was amazed by the intricate layers of flavor created by the various spices blending harmoniously yet maintaining a sense of unity. While cumin serves as the core spice, the others support the overall taste without overpowering it. Despite the strong herbal essence, I couldn't clearly distinguish cardamom, clove, cinnamon, or turmeric, leading me to speculate based on the overall impression. The base of the curry appeared to be beef with vegetables and fruits, providing a depth of umami flavor to complement the spices. Mixing in the cheese added a richness and nuttiness, expanding the flavor profile even further. In conclusion, the harmony of spices in this curry can be considered a work of art. After we left the restaurant, my daughter scolded me, saying, "Why didn't you bring me to such a good restaurant sooner (ꐦ°᷄д°᷅) (・ω・`)". Therefore, the next time I crave this curry, I will definitely invite her to join me. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Retro café located underground in Kyobashi 3-chome. The interior is colorful and extravagant with beautiful flowers and a grand music player in the center of the cafe for some reason. The menu includes a salad for 400 yen and a Cheese Beef Curry for 1,600 yen (tax included), which comes with a small sweet potato as a starter. I ate it before the main dish arrived because there was a 10-minute wait. It was quite sweet! The Cheese Beef Curry, ordered by 90% of customers, is served in a hot pot, resembling a gratin. You can choose the level of spiciness from mild, medium, to hot, but even the mild option has a slight kick, similar to a typical medium spiciness. The creamy European-style curry sauce and the crispy cheese topping are incredibly delicious! The only downside is a poor cell reception. Payment is cash only.

On Saturday night, my wife and I visited the restaurant. Luckily, there was only one customer inside so we didn't have to wait. We had to pay a 400 yen charge or follow a one drink per person policy, and only cash was accepted. I ordered a large serving of baked cheese curry which was full of vibrant spices and very delicious. I didn't feel overwhelmed by the portion size and quickly finished it. I would love to go back again.

Cheese beef curry (medium spicy) was delicious! Located a 2-minute walk from Kyobashi Station on the Tokyo Metro (also a 2-minute walk from Hozomon Station on Toei Line). I visited during the weekend opening hours (11:00). Upon descending the stairs to B1F, I found a spacious and atmospheric interior with only table seating. While listening to classical music (that day it was familiar Ghibli animation songs), I enjoyed the sizzling cheese beef curry. The spiciness of the curry matched perfectly with the sweetness of the cheese. I quickly finished my meal and will definitely visit again.

Before visiting a customer, I bought a souvenir at Daimaru and since I hadn't had lunch yet, I visited this place for the first time. It was a 15-minute walk from Daimaru, and I sweated a lot, but I encountered a wonderful curry restaurant!! It was 1:55 pm on a weekday, and when I entered, there was one customer already inside. Luckily, the last order was at 2:15 pm. First of all, I was overwhelmed by the sound system, seating, and overall atmosphere inside the restaurant. It felt like a classic Showa-era coffee shop, just like the jazz cafes around Ochanomizu that I used to frequent in my younger days. It felt like John Coltrane's music would be playing in the background. I ordered the signature dish, the "Grilled Cheese Beef Curry," with extra spiciness. First, I was served with a shovel-like spoon and sweet potato. Then, after waiting for about 10 minutes, a bubbling hot curry was served. It looked like curry doria, but when I tasted it, it was a delicious fusion of European beef curry with added spiciness. The combination of Western-style beef curry with complex spices was incredible, and I forgot about the heat as I quickly devoured it. Curry truly is a deep and amazing dish! It was a very satisfying lunch. Thank you for the meal! ^_^

3rd Street Curry Shop @ Takaramachi, Tokyo, Kyobashi "Baked Cheese Beef Curry (medium spicy)" A curry shop standing in the office district. It is located underground, but you can feel the uniqueness of the shop from the outside. As you enter the shop, the sound system is amazing!! I'm not very knowledgeable about it, but music lovers would surely get excited. When I visited, they were playing Ghibli's BGM. On a hot day, curry is a must. And it's simmering hot. I chose the shop's recommended medium spiciness, and it was quite spicy. But it's a delicious taste that really boosts your energy!! The richness of beef and onions is deep. The generous amount of cheese melting and mixing with the curry is also great. The seafood curry, which is the main dish, takes some time to be served, so I'll have to come back again! By the way, they served a small sweet potato before the meal. I usually like to end with something sweet, but since the curry was spicy, the sugary treat was much appreciated. It was thick and delicious. Thank you for the meal¨̮⑅*◎ Favorite rating: ★★★☆☆ #3rdStreetCurryShop #TakaramachiGourmet #TakaramachiCurry #TakaramachiLunch #TokyoGourmet #TokyoLunch #TokyoCurry #BakedCheeseBeefCurry #Curry #Wakameshi #Wakameshi_Takaramachi #Wakameshi_Kyobashi #Wakameshi_Tokyo
