First visit. I like motsunabe, but it was my first time trying the type with mentaiko. I thought it would be salty, but it had a gentle and delicious taste. The champon noodles for the finishing touch were also delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice with a Showa era vibe. I was impressed by the staff's thoughtfulness. Their kind service made me feel very comfortable.

I came here last time and ordered the course menu, and all the dishes were delicious, so this is my second visit. The cod roe hot pot and cod roe chicken wings were amazing. We were able to have a leisurely conversation in a private room and had a great dining experience. My colleagues who came with me were also satisfied. I definitely want to visit again.

Hakata Kanefuku Fukutake Tsukiji Main Store, Chuo-ku, Tsukiji, Tokyo, has an impressive mentaiko motsunabe with six thick pieces of mentaiko placed generously on top. The restaurant also offers a variety of Kyushu ingredients, including karashi renkon, karasumi, satsuma-age, basashi, and more. The menu features a wide range of dishes using mentaiko, such as grilled, tempura, ajillo, and imomochi. Mentaiko is even added to sausages. Motsunabe is typically enjoyed with soy sauce, but the restaurant offers a delicious miso motsunabe as well. The cozy atmosphere is perfect for enjoying motsunabe with a group of friends while drinking sake. Hakata Kanefuku Fukutake is a great place to experience a taste of Kyushu in Tsukiji.

I had been wanting to try the spicy cod roe motsunabe for a while, so I made an online reservation thinking it would be easy during the hot season. I ordered the 5000 yen course with all-you-can-drink option this time. It was my first time, so opting for the course was the right choice! The hot pot was a spicy cod roe motsunabe. If you like spicy food, you might want it even spicier! The salad and side dishes all featured cod roe in the menu, which was a new discovery for me. The only downside was that the restaurant was lively with customers, and I couldn't enjoy my meal in peace. The staff apologized for this. I would like to go back again!

I heard it was really delicious, so I had high expectations, but the hot pot was quite average! I noticed that the mentaiko had no skin and was just squeezed out of a tube in five rows. It would be better to make risotto if you have room in your stomach! The side dishes at the izakaya are also satisfying and enjoyable.

The mentaiko is also tasty and I especially love the leeks. We shared a serving for 2 between 4 people, and if you also order other a la carte dishes, it should be enough! It was just right for a satisfying finish! The mentaiko dashi tamago was smooth and tasty. The mentaiko imo mochi with mentaiko mayo on top is overflowing with mentaiko from the inside! It's really delicious, with the sweet potato's sweetness, texture, and the popping sensation of mentaiko all blending perfectly. The alcohol is not light at all, in fact, it's quite strong, so you can get drunk quickly. Reservations are a must on Friday nights! The food is delicious, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere is great. Some people were using it for dates. ⚠️ Be aware that you have to take off your shoes depending on the seat!

The fact that bottled beer is included in the all-you-can-drink option is amazing! I got excited just at that point (laughs). I booked a 3-hour all-you-can-drink course. You can choose from various types of hot pot, but when you come here, it has to be the mentaiko (spicy cod roe) hot pot ♥ It was so luxurious with a lot of mentaiko used in it! The taste was, of course, delicious. For the finale, you could choose from cheese risotto, udon, champon, or okayu.

I had seen it on SNS and had been interested, but had almost forgotten about it, but I made a reservation and went! There were autographs of famous people near the entrance, and personally, I was happy to see Anzumi-san's autograph there. The inside of the restaurant is bright and spacious. It was just after opening on the weekend, but the restaurant was bustling. What I ordered was: - Mentaiko tempura: no mistake, delicious! - Mentaiko rolled omelette: also consistently delicious - Mentaiko wiener: I ordered this because it has mentaiko mixed in, which was unusual and delicious - Mentaiko motsunabe: visually impactful! The mentaiko was well dissolved in the soup, and it was delicious. The chewy motsu was tasty. The cabbage was cut in large pieces, making it a bit difficult to eat. - Ojiya set for the end of the hot pot: I was torn between champon noodles and rice, but I chose rice because it seemed like it would allow me to finish the soup without leaving any. It was the right choice! It was delicious. When two of us went and had 4 drinks in total, the bill exceeded 12,000 yen. The 5,500 yen course with all-you-can-drink might have been more cost-effective. Perhaps due to the influence of SNS, there were many younger customers when I went. Thank you for the meal!

After the Kabuki performance, we made a reservation at a sought-after restaurant specializing in mentaiko motsunabe (((*≧︎艸≦︎). Finally, we were able to go! It seemed like we almost needed a reservation, right? It's quite popular, after all~ (;゚∀゚︎) There were four of us, all lightweight drinkers but big eaters (birds of a feather flock together), so we were going to order two servings, but the staff advised that for four people, three servings would be better, so we went with that. As appetizers before the hot pot arrived, we also ordered mentaiko-wrapped omelet for 1080 yen and fried chicken with tartar sauce for 950 yen (p゚∀゚q). The appetizer was cucumber and octopus mixed with mentaiko mayo! So delicious! I could eat it forever ⊱(* ڡ *)⊰ The mentaiko-wrapped omelet was tasty, but I couldn't help thinking that I didn't need this much mentaiko before eating mentaiko motsunabe... I really wish they had regular rolled omelet on the menu as well (人>ω<*). The fried chicken had a hint of a Southern taste in the batter, right? Normally, you'd expect it to be soaked in Southern vinegar and topped with plenty of tartar sauce, right?! I wanted to stomp my feet in frustration, but I calmed down thinking it was a fresh take on the dish (;´ー`)ノ Poring had the chicken Southern-style for the first time in a while, but two out of four of us had just come from Miyazaki and had already eaten chicken Southern-style recently (lol). Well, that makes sense (-.-;) We should have ordered something else, sorry for not being considerate (lol). And then, the long-awaited mentaiko motsunabe!!! A stunning visual!!! When the cabbage starts to wilt and sink, lower the heat and gently dissolve the miso by breaking up the mentaiko, they said. As expected, it was delicious~!! I was worried it might be too rich with all the mentaiko, but it was tasty!! However, it's not something you can eat a lot of... I wanted to have champon noodles as the finishing touch, but no one seemed up for it. We should have gone with two servings after all... We couldn't make it to the end, so I definitely want to go back again~! Thank you for the meal~♪

This day was a girls' gathering with girls from Kyushu. I'm from Yamaguchi, but I managed to join in since it's pretty much Kyushu anyways. The organizer chose a delicious Kyushu cuisine restaurant, where we could enjoy mentaiko motsunabe. The restaurant is operated by Kanefuku, famous for their mentaiko. As a mentaiko lover, I was really looking forward to this day. The course we had was a 2-hour all-you-can-drink course with mentaiko dishes (¥5,500). The course included: - 3 appetizers - Mentaiko rolled omelette - Vegetable salad with mentaiko dressing - Mentaiko tempura - Fried mentaiko dumplings - Fried chicken with mentaiko mayonnaise - Mentaiko motsunabe - Choice of noodles to finish the hot pot (udon or champon or risotto) - Dessert Truly a course filled with mentaiko dishes. The appetizers included mentaiko potato salad, mentaiko, and mentaiko with kombu. I enjoyed all of them, but my favorites were the mentaiko tempura and dumplings. They were perfect with drinks. For drinks, I chose beer from the various options available for the all-you-can-drink menu. The beer came in medium bottles and was delicious and easy to enjoy. The main dish, mentaiko motsunabe, had a large amount of mentaiko on top. The motsu was soft and delicious, a dream for mentaiko lovers like me. We had risotto and champon as the finishing dishes for the hot pot, and they were prepared by the staff. The cheese risotto was also delicious, as expected with mentaiko and cheese mixed with rice. Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the champon noodles (probably because I was too busy talking), so if I come again, I would choose udon or risotto. With the all-you-can-drink option and the quality of the course, it was very cost-effective! I would love to come back for another girls' gathering. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The motsunabe was delicious, so I want to eat motsunabe regularly. The mentaiko dishes kept coming and it was a truly blissful time. The appetizer was a trio of Kyushu specialties, sashimi assortment, vegetable salad with mentaiko dressing, Oita's famous chicken tempura, mentaiko motsunabe (can be changed), choice of hot pot finale, and dessert.

The restaurant informed me in advance that the 5,500 yen course for our date would be quite voluminous, and it turned out to be more than I expected. It wasn't just a large portion, but there were many delicious dishes that I couldn't stop eating. We couldn't finish the hot pot finale and dessert, so we had to cancel them. If I have the chance to visit again, I will either ask for a smaller portion or make sure to eat less beforehand to tackle the meal with a higher hunger level. Thank you for the meal!

I was guided to a private room with a sunken kotatsu seat. It was bustling, but the private room was quiet and easy to talk in. It was my first time trying mentaiko hot pot, and it was delicious with a rich flavor. I like spicy food, but I could enjoy it even with a mild kick. The course's karashi renkon and appetizers were also great. The staff were friendly, but the slightly rushed service was a bit disappointing.

Clip-clop, clip-clop. I head to a restaurant that serves mentaiko hot pot, perfect for the cold winter. I always reserve the all-you-can-drink course! They serve about 6-7 delicious dishes including fresh sashimi and dishes made with mentaiko. For the hot pot, I recommend the extra spicy option if you like it hot! It has just the right amount of spiciness. For the finale, I always have a hard time choosing between risotto and champon. The staff at the restaurant are always friendly, and I leave fully satisfied every time! Thank you for the meal!

It is a popular place, so reservations are required. I visited in the early evening on a weekday and it was fully booked. ~ Today's Menu ~ Fukutake 3-hour course (6500 yen) ◯ 3 types of appetizers ◯ Satsuma-age (specialty from Kyushu) ◯ Assorted sashimi ◯ Vegetable salad (with mentaiko dressing) ◯ Tebasaki mentaiko ◯ Oita specialty chicken tempura ◯ Mentaiko motsunabe ◯ Nabe finale (mentaiko cheese risotto) ◯ Dessert (sesame almond?) ◆ The appetizer platter includes thick slices of mentaiko, the vegetable salad has mentaiko dressing, and the tebasaki mentaiko is packed with mentaiko. A fantastic array of mentaiko dishes. ◆ The Satsuma-age, chicken tempura, and other Kyushu specialties are plentiful. The sashimi is fresh and delicious. ◆ When the mentaiko motsunabe was brought out, I was surprised to see the thick mentaiko lined up on top of the cabbage in six rows. Once the cabbage softens, you mix it all together. The motsu, tofu, and shungiku below are ready to eat once they soften, and they are exquisite. ◆ For the finale, I chose the mentaiko cheese risotto (you can choose from several options). Once the rice is added to the broth and loosened, you add the cheese and sprinkle on chopped nori. The melted cheese and mentaiko intertwining with the rice was simply amazing. ◯ The staff are very attentive and provide excellent service. At this price point, the food better be delicious. ◯ I would like to challenge the "mentaiko motsunabe" again next time. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

There weren't many types of sake, but there was quite a selection of shochu. The motsunabe tasted the same as the branch in Tokyo Station and was simply delicious. The side dishes were quite ordinary, not particularly tasty. The mentaiko dashimaki didn't live up to expectations.

I visited this restaurant for the first time in a while after playing golf. We decided to try the spicy mentaiko motsunabe based on everyone's recommendation. The meal started with appetizers and sashimi, served little by little. As we chatted and enjoyed beers and highballs, the main dish arrived - a motsunabe with a generous amount of mentaiko and sprinkled with powdered red pepper. It looked quite spicy, but when we tasted it, it was actually moderately spicy. The mentaiko blended well with the cabbage and motsu, creating a decent flavor, but it wasn't as dramatically delicious as it looked. It was more like a regular tarako motsunabe. We added more vegetables and pork belly, continued drinking, and had a great time discussing work and reflecting on our golf game. The three hours flew by in this enjoyable dining experience. It was also nice to have a private room for the four of us. Thank you for the meal!

There is a motsunabe restaurant in Tsukiji. You can also enjoy Hakata motsunabe with mentaiko. I ordered the spicy mentaiko motsunabe. The photo shows a portion for two people, but it's quite a large serving. You can choose the level of spiciness, and it seems that the more you increase the level, the more red powder there is. I think I chose the second or third level from the bottom. The taste is undeniably delicious. If you finish with zosui, your stomach will be full, so make sure to go on an empty stomach.

I apologize for only having one photo, but there were plenty of menus to enjoy in Kyushu. The highlight was the Mentaiko motsunabe, which looked amazing! We were torn between noodles or rice for our last dish, but rice won by majority vote. Namboku's noodles were really good.

In the chilly September weather, I carefully researched the menu and reserved a course with all-you-can-drink option. The motsu nabe was as powerful as rumored! The dashimaki, tempura, everything was amazing. The restaurant had many female customers, which made my partner a bit embarrassed, but the staff were kind and we were satisfied. I would like to visit again when it gets really cold.
