Located along the Ebisu and Shibuya riverside, "coci" is a Thai restaurant that focuses on the theme of "boosting immunity for loved ones and oneself." This is definitely a place you want to visit in the current situation with COVID-19. This time, I chose the popular "Customizable Original Thai Course" (3,800 yen). We started with a toast with sparkling wine.
- Assorted Appetizers: Fermented fig and shiso spring rolls, Stir-fried Tokiiro Hiratake and Tamogitake mushrooms wrapped in an egg net, Tod Mun Kung (shrimp paste fritters) stood out, with a crispy coating that provided a satisfying crunch.
- Yum Woon Sen: A refreshing salad with shrimp, plenty of coriander, and a light dressing, featuring glass noodles. The abundance of cilantro and celery blended well together without overpowering each other.
- Beef Sirloin Steak in Yum Nua Style (+500 yen): For the main course, I opted for beef, which was prepared in a style similar to a beef salad. The slightly spicy flavor was appetizing.
- Khao Ka Moo Gai Gapao: To finish off, a rice dish with minced chicken and basil stir-fry served with jasmine rice. The addition of a sunny-side-up egg was a nice touch. I initially thought the focus on "fermentation" would result in a very health-conscious meal, but the dishes were flavorful without any strong aftertaste. The option to choose meat and the presence of rice made it satisfying for men as well. The reasonable prices and high level of satisfaction make this restaurant a great choice.

I visited the restaurant on a holiday night. It was fully booked with reservations. Many young girls and couples were using it for dates. This time, I ordered the seasonal course. I also ordered a bottle of Chardonnay white wine to enjoy. It was only 3000 yen, so it was a casual choice. The wine was properly chilled, crisp, and delicious.
First, I had the organic beet and taro terrine with prosciutto wrapped around it. It was very delicious! The white powder around it turned out to be olive oil, which was unusual but tasty. Next, I tried the salmon and burdock root fritter with Western wasabi, which surprisingly wasn't spicy at all. I usually don't like wasabi, but I enjoyed this dish. It paired well with bread and had a refined taste.
Then, I had the lobster pie wrap, which used a luxurious lobster sauce. Inside was a coconut cream sauce that coconut lovers would adore. The aroma of the shrimp was also delightful. It was the best! The duck with berry sauce was flavorful, beautifully presented, and the accompanying vegetables were surprisingly easy to eat with no strong flavors. The slightly salty vegetables were also delicious.
For the finale, I had chicken bone soup rice. It had a hint of spices, giving it an ethnic taste, but it was still very Japanese-friendly. It was a new and delicious experience. Lastly, the dessert was kumquat cream cheese and banana cake, both not too sweet and had a gentle, natural flavor. They were easy to eat even with a full stomach. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, and I highly recommend the course menu over a la carte for better value. I will definitely visit again.

The atmosphere was very nice! The staff were busy but provided polite service. The food was unique, I had the tomato pasta this time, but they also had dishes like duck that caught my interest. I would like to try dining there next time.

Taste: ★★★★★⭕️
Everything ordered was delicious. Both the food and original cocktails were tasty.
Atmosphere: ★★★★☆⭕️
The window seats have a great atmosphere. There is a small river (?) next to the restaurant, providing a relaxed setting that doesn't feel like Ebisu. There are also seats at the bar counter, making it easy for solo diners.
Cost performance: ★★★★☆⭕️
All dishes are well-prepared and tasty, with just the right portion size. The prices are reasonable for the quality.
Service: ★★☆☆☆❎
The service is average to minimum.

I used a lunch course for two people to celebrate a friend's birthday. Overall, the atmosphere of the restaurant and the staff were very nice. The explanations of the dishes were also polite. However, despite having a reservation, I felt that the dishes were a bit slow to come out. The food was delicious, but it was disappointing that the ice cream for dessert came out in a quite melted state.

The atmosphere is great. I want to go again! It's close to the station and easy to find. I had chicken. Healthy and delicious! The counter seats are cozy without being too close to others. I'm curious about the seats on the second floor! Next time, I'll try the Gapao rice!

The food had a French twist with an Asian vibe, which kept it interesting and enjoyable. Particularly delicious were the crispy fried oysters wrapped in kataifi (first image) and the warm banana cake (fourth image). The banana cake came with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and sticky rice for added flavor options. The drink selection was also extensive. The restaurant had a spacious atmosphere as it was a two-story house. Initially seated on the second floor where there were only women having a girls' night out, it felt a bit cramped. When we asked to move due to a noisy birthday celebration nearby, the staff kindly accommodated us. It would have been helpful if they had considered seating us in a quieter spot from the beginning.

There is a one-story house restaurant by the river in Ebisu that has established its own style by blending Thai cuisine with French, catering to Japanese tastes. I am not a fan of strong ethnic spices, but I found it easy to enjoy the fusion of Thai and French flavors.

I had lunch near Ebisu Station for ¥2,640. The appetizer included eel, foie gras, and fig with balsamic vinegar sauce. Then, there was a chilled pumpkin soup with bread, fried oysters with lemon sauce, and a choice of chicken, duck, or deer for the main course. I chose the chicken, which was tender and delicious. For dessert, there were three options: mango Mont Blanc, banana cake, and a chocolate terrine or gateau. You could choose from herbal tea, black tea, or coffee for drinks. The herbal-infused water was very soothing. Every dish was delicious, and I was surprised by the great value. The restaurant had a high proportion of female customers and had a lovely atmosphere.

I visited on a scorching hot day. The inside of the restaurant was extremely hot, and other customers were fanning themselves with their hands. The staff's voices were quiet, making it difficult to hear. The dishes featured unique ingredient combinations and unusual sauces. The plates were also elaborate and made me want to take pictures.

The restaurant was a bit dimly lit with a nice atmosphere. They celebrated my birthday, and the stylish Thai dishes were delicious, including the appetizers, mains, and noodle dishes. The plate (I forgot to take a picture before eating it) had a stylish tasting banana cake with herb-scented ice cream on top, which was very tasty. I would like to visit again.

First visit for lunch on a Friday. The second-floor floor where we were seated had a calm and stylish atmosphere, giving a sense of the quality of the restaurant. Most of the seats were taken by pairs of women. The lunch menu seemed to be only course meals, so I chose the 1500 yen course with chilled soup, Gapao rice, and iced tea. I've been weak to the word Gapao lately... The chilled soup had a delicate texture and a delicious taste that showed careful preparation. The Gapao rice was bold and offered various flavor variations, giving a boost of energy with its deliciousness. It truly felt like Ebisu, a place where you can relax and enjoy. Thank you for the meal.

Visited for a ladies' lunch. The combination of ethnic and French cuisine was unique and satisfying in both appearance and taste. The scallop cream pie was delicious, and the sweetness of the sauce with the main meat dish was a great match. Many young women celebrating birthdays or other occasions come here, possibly due to the free dessert plate. It would be convenient if there was more flexibility in choosing dessert and drinks at the start of the course.

I used it for a friend's celebration, and the scallop cream wrapped in pie was delicious. The lunch course portion was just right and the atmosphere and service at the restaurant were good. The use of fermented foods in Thai-French fusion cuisine gives the dishes a slightly unique flavor, which may be a matter of personal preference. Considering the location, the cost performance is quite good. Thank you for the meal.

I used it for a friend's birthday. It is a building facing the river with good access, a 5-minute walk from the west exit of JR Ebisu Station. There were a few bar counter seats and table seats on the first floor, and we were guided to the second floor. The course was about 6000 yen, but it was quite voluminous and we were full. It could be described as fusion cuisine that arranges Thai cuisine for Japanese people in a French or Italian style. You could choose freely within the course, such as pasta and Pad Thai. The taste was quite delicious. However, the staff's response was quite cold, and the explanation of the dishes was unclear as they spoke softly and quickly, which was a bit disappointing. The atmosphere was good, and there were many young girls as customers.

The fusion of French and ethnic cuisine gives a subtle hint of Thai flavors, creating a unique and wonderful dining experience! The dessert platter with a variety of options was delicious and satisfying. I can't wait to go back to Coci in Ebisu for lunch again.

I made a reservation for a dinner with a special message dessert. It cost around 6000 yen. The restaurant had a casual atmosphere with many women, making it easy to chat. The food had an ethnic and healthy flavor, which was a fresh experience for me as I haven't had much Thai cuisine before. The course included petit poiré and new potato potage, marinated first gatsu with salt koji, Tasmanian mustard sauce, kuetio pad Thai with homemade torch sauce, poached large mountain chicken breast with cassis mustard, and warm spiced banana cake with fermented kao nyao.

It's about a 5-minute walk from the west exit of Ebisu Station towards Ebisu Yokocho. It's a stylish white building along a small waterway, past the popular Thai restaurant Blue Papaya. We were seated at a two-person table by the window on the second floor, which had a bright and charming atmosphere. However, the service was a bit slow, and the meat dishes we ordered, such as duck cooked at low temperature and pork grilled over direct flame, were a bit tough despite good seasoning and sauce. The scallop pie and dessert were delicious though. If you prioritize ambiance when choosing a restaurant for dinner, this place might be a good option. Thank you for the meal.

A riverside house restaurant in Ebisu where you can enjoy French cuisine infused with fermentation techniques. The dishes are enhanced with a variety of herbs and spices, adding a touch of Thai cuisine essence, resulting in fragrant and natural dishes. Seasonal Course (5390 yen) features a selection of seven original dishes, each highlighting the best flavors of the season. Champagne (1100 yen) - Radara Organic Prosecco Brut. Amuse: Pork neck and seasonal fruits in Kaokua sauce, inspired by Thai cuisine appetizer "Myang Kam". Cold Appetizer: Marinated bonito with salt koji and Tasmania mustard sauce. Hot Appetizer: Kataifi-wrapped fresh oysters with lemon balm foam. Noodles: Smoked cherry sea bream and Morika with celery Genovese and tagliatelle. Main: Low-temperature cooked wagyu fillet with sea urchin, Bardane Japanese puree, and grilled young corn. Seasonal avant dessert: Citrus cube with pink grapefruit and orange jelly, topped with granita. Dessert: Fromage and citrus.
