This was a shop I had been curious about for a while. I visited because it was near the practice venue. Inside the shop, there were many autographs and scenes from TV appearances displayed. I chose the lunch set with two types of mapo tofu: normal mapo tofu and curry cheese mapo tofu. Both were incredibly delicious!!! Just the right amount of spiciness and rich flavor. I enjoyed them so much, sweating profusely. I chose the spicy version for the normal mapo tofu, but I didn't find it too spicy. The soup and pickled mustard greens were refillable. The soup had a ramen broth with ginger, and it was really delicious. Lastly, I had almond tofu with sesame sauce, which was also exquisite. I will definitely come back again. I went to eat around 11:30 on Sunday. I had a lot of luggage, but the staff's response was good. This time, I ordered the No. 1 popular Sichuan-style spicy Tokyo Mapo Tofu (medium spicy). It was delicious with a strong taste of Sansho pepper. I added a little vinegar for a change in taste. The soup and pickled vegetables were freely available, and the ginger-flavored soup was also excellent. The almond tofu dessert with white sesame sauce was mild and delicious. The interior of the restaurant is clean and it is a place where women can easily go. There were quite a few takeout customers as well, so it's a popular restaurant!

Alone. *Shop* A shop with a counter at the center. I entered before 12 o'clock, but the inside of the shop was crowded. It was nice that the food was served quickly after ordering. *Meal* I ordered a lunch set. You can choose the type and spiciness of the mapo tofu, and it comes with self-service side dishes, soup, and rice. It had a sufficient amount of food.

(Weekend) 12:48 visit, around 5 groups inside the restaurant (5 groups when leaving) - Tokyo Mapo Tofu Set Meal, medium spicy (with pickled vegetables, free refills for soup, adjustable spiciness) for 1000 yen. <Introduction> Today, I had some errands in Ochanomizu, so I decided to grab a bite to eat beforehand. I usually avoid lunchtime, but today I had no choice. As I walked around the area, I remembered there was a Mapo Tofu specialty restaurant nearby. So, I arrived at the 'Mapo Tofu TOKYO Kanda Main Store'. They have several branches as a Mapo Tofu specialty store. As a Mapo Tofu lover, I've always wanted to try this place. It's about a 10-minute walk from Ochanomizu Station. As soon as I entered, I noticed that there were seats available at the counter. They are known for offering various types of Mapo Tofu, so I was torn on what to order. But I decided to go with the classic Tokyo Mapo Tofu. The pickled vegetables and soup are self-service at the back of the counter. I picked those up while waiting for my order. <Tasting> My order arrived in a few minutes. Wow! It looks black rather than red. It seems to have a rich flavor. There was also Sichuan pepper on the table, but I decided to try it as is first. Delicious! It's more like a Japanese-style Mapo Tofu that highlights the flavor of minced meat. The silky tofu makes it easy to eat. I ordered it medium spicy, and it wasn't too hot, complementing the rice perfectly. Next, I sprinkled some Sichuan pepper on top. The aroma of the Sichuan pepper is quite strong. I couldn't help but sprinkle a lot. I've been getting used to the numbing sensation of the Sichuan pepper lately, and I find it satisfying. You can also opt for extra spicy for an additional 100 yen, but the Sichuan pepper is already satisfying enough. The soup had a Chinese-style ginger flavor, and the pickled vegetables were easy to eat. The free refills were much appreciated. <Conclusion> I didn't have much time, so I finished my meal quickly. I might have been eating too much Mapo Tofu lately, but I'm not tired of it. They also have unique Mapo Tofu variations and challenge menus, so I might come back again sometime. If you ever crave Mapo Tofu, be sure to visit here.

I went around 12 PM on Saturday. The restaurant was moderately busy with only 3-4 seats available at all times. They offer two types of half-size sets and half-size noodles, so if you go with two or more people, you can enjoy all the varieties in different ways. I saw freshly ground Sichuan pepper for the first time.

I entered the Ma Po Tofu specialty store with high expectations. Most of the menu items were set meals. Feeling like having noodles that day, I ordered the Ma Po noodles. It seemed like ordering noodles was not common based on the surroundings (lol). Adding extra spiciness was for an additional fee? I didn't want it too spicy, so I just asked for a little extra within my limits (not the best value). There were various Ma Po Tofu dishes, which piqued my interest. The shop was small, so there wasn't a relaxed atmosphere for dining (but it's understandable). Next time, maybe I'll try the Cheese Ma Po Tofu.

I went to the restaurant with a total of 5 people, including a new member. I mistakenly ordered red wine instead of white wine which I enjoyed last time. It's all a matter of personal preference. I also wanted to try the oil-splashed chicken, so we ordered that as well. Perhaps next time we'll go for the boiled dumplings.

I had the double dinner set where I could choose two types of mapo tofu. I chose the black Tokyo mapo tofu and the red Szechuan mapo tofu. Both were delicious, but personally I prefer the authentic black one. It was medium spicy, with a bit of heat, but compared to the spicy mapo tofu from a Chinese chef's restaurant, it wasn't very spicy at all.

It was very disappointing that there was no spiciness at all. In the Kanda-Jimbōchō area, there are delicious restaurants serving mapo tofu and tantanmen, so I had high hopes when I visited a restaurant named "Mapo Tofu." This time, I ordered the medium spicy mapo noodles, but the spiciness was minimal, more like mild. You have to add the Sichuan peppercorns separately, but there was no numbing spiciness. Considering the high price, I was expecting something with a noticeable numbing spiciness, so it was a letdown. I don't think I'll be visiting for a second time.

The mapo tofu itself was spicy and delicious. Personally, I found it to be quite tasty when eaten with noodles, even though it's not shown in the picture. It might be a tough decision for first-time visitors, but I believe ordering it with noodles can bring a high level of satisfaction. It's a matter of personal preference, but I highly recommend trying it that way.

It's been a while since my last visit. I ordered the lunch set with black mapo tofu. The soup and pickled vegetables are self-service and unlimited. The egg soup with chopped ginger is as delicious as ever. The pickled vegetables are also well-seasoned and cut into large pieces. However, the mapo tofu tasted different this time. It used to have a more Sichuan-style flavor and was really delicious, but now it tastes more like a store-bought retort meal, which is disappointing.

Four colleagues visited the restaurant around 1 pm on a weekday. There are mainly three types of mapo tofu dishes, all of which seem good. There are no bad choices, in my opinion. If you have to choose, I recommend the double portion. It's expensive, but you get to enjoy two different flavors. The side dishes of pickled vegetables and soup are also satisfying. We all left saying, "Today's diary entry will be about eating delicious mapo tofu, right?"

Today I had lunch in Kanda. I went to a mapo tofu specialty store that I had been curious about for a while. As I was selecting from the display menu in front of the store, a beautiful and friendly lady welcomed me, saying "Welcome! Are you a party of 3?" Great first impression. Excellent customer service. This confirmed it was a good store. When I arrived around 1 pm, about half of the seats were already taken. I ordered the spicy mapo tofu called "Enma" that is available from 1 pm. My friend ordered regular mapo tofu and mapo noodles. The soup and pickled vegetables were self-service. The soup with plenty of ginger was excellent. The pickled vegetables were also very delicious. About 10 minutes after ordering, the mapo tofu arrived. The spicy "Enma" mapo tofu was decently spicy, with the spiciness being the main focus. In terms of taste, I think the regular mapo tofu that my friend ordered was much more delicious. The richly flavored mapo tofu, designed to go well with rice, was truly unique. I couldn't stop eating it with rice. Also, the mapo noodles were very delicious as well. When I finished eating the "Enma," the friendly lady who greeted me at the beginning came over and asked, "How was the Enma? Not many people can finish it!" This was another great impression. Customer service is really important. The wonderful customer service, which elevated the taste of the mapo tofu by about two levels, made this a fantastic restaurant. I want to go back to enjoy the taste of the mapo tofu and the customer service from the lady again.

Visited around 7:30 pm on Friday night. Found a seat at the counter right away and entered. There were 6 types of mapo tofu, and I ordered the most popular one, "black" for 1300 yen, with medium spiciness. The flavor was delicious with just the right amount of spice, not too strong, and not too mild. It came with pickled vegetables and soup, and you can get free rice refills once. Very much appreciated. Thank you for the meal.

I love specialty shops. On Saturday afternoon after work, I went on a journey to a mapo tofu specialty shop! It's a casual place where you can help yourself to pickled vegetables and soup while enjoying a beer. I ordered the double lunch set where you can choose two types. I wanted something spicy, so I chose the black (Sichuan-style spicy) and red (garlic chive and egg spicy) options. The black one was unique and tasty, especially when I added some ground Sichuan pepper on top. It wasn't too spicy but had a nice numbing sensation. The red one had a good acidity to it, which really stimulated my appetite. This was my first time trying something like this. I preferred the black one. It was delicious, although the rice was a bit too soft. It would have been better if it was firmer, like with curry. Overall, it was a tasty meal.

-Black Mapo Tofu ¥1000 -Extra Spicy ¥100 I arrived before 12 o'clock and was able to enter without waiting in line. I usually opt for medium spiciness to avoid incomplete satisfaction, but this time I decided to go for extra spicy. It was the ultimate kick! The extra spicy version had more spices, with plenty of powder and grains on top and inside. The grainy spices release a fragrant aroma when chewed, and the tongue is hit with a satisfying tingling sensation. (I have a weak stomach, so it even tingles a bit there, too.) This might be the most delicious Mapo Tofu I've ever had... It seems that choosing the more challenging option without chickening out is the way to go. Since I love Sichuan peppercorns, I'm thinking of exploring Mapo Tofu with plenty of Sichuan peppercorns next.

I want to find a mapo men that is better than yesterday's. Surprisingly, it's not easy to find mapo men. Maybe there is a place specialized in mapo tofu. Yes, they have mapo men here. I ordered mapo men with an egg, with a mild level of spiciness. It arrived. It looks similar to the one from yesterday's restaurant, but the aroma is stronger here. I mixed the noodles with the sauce and started eating. The noodles and the sauce blend well together. The mapo tofu itself is delicious. I wish it was spicier. I added some Sichuan peppercorns for a more vibrant flavor, and it instantly became tastier. It would be even better with some green onions. Today's mapo men sets the standard. It was delicious. Visited the restaurant around 11:15 on a Sunday. There were 2 customers before me and 5 customers after me (1 customer left before ordering). I ordered the Half and Half with black soup, extra spicy red. The free soup was really delicious, just as others have said. That day, the soup was egg drop soup with a strong taste of ginger and Sichuan pepper. The pickled vegetables were good as well (it's nice that you can get refills). The black soup, although labeled as extra spicy, was more like a medium spice level in a regular restaurant. As for the red soup, it had a sour and spicy taste, similar to hot and sour soup or mapo tofu with a strong sour flavor. There was a lady dining alone who wanted to order the 20 times spicier mapo tofu, but she was told it's only available after 1:30 pm due to operational reasons during peak lunch hours. I didn't try the other two options, but the mapo tofu itself was not that impressive. It felt like the base sauce was pre-made, so the fragrance and spiciness were weaker compared to other specialized restaurants that cook the spices fresh. And when comparing it to the famous restaurant down the street, it just didn't quite measure up. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I felt like eating mapo tofu so I decided to revisit this restaurant. I had tried to go a while back but it was too crowded so I gave up. Today was also busy, but luckily someone had just finished eating so I decided to wait. There was only one waiter so he was quite busy. After the cleanup, I entered and was seated at the counter. I ordered the double mapo tofu set meal (1,600 yen). You can choose two types of mapo tofu in half size, so I chose the black and red ones, both medium spicy. The soup and pickles are self-service. The soup had changed from egg drop to consomme, and it was delicious too! I was looking forward to the mapo tofu. After about 10 minutes, the mapo tofu arrived. I tried the red one first, which had a sour taste, quite unique. It was similar to sour and spicy noodles. It was mildly spicy, so I added some Sichuan pepper from the table. The black one was spicy and had a thick texture, perfect with rice. I had eaten tonkatsu for lunch, so I tried to be moderate, but ended up getting a second serving of rice. Oh, you can have one free refill of rice. The waiter was busy but friendly and it was a pleasant dining experience. Thank you for the meal.
