Klein 2007
I visited this place for a date. First of all, the interior and exterior were both lovely, and just being here made my heart flutter a bit and feel fulfilled. Honestly, I get nervous when going to a French restaurant, but the receptionist was very cheerful and polite, so I was able to relax without feeling too anxious. The food was all delicious. I'm not sure how to describe it, but the concept of the restaurant being like "dropping by a friend's house casually" really resonated with me. The dishes were not overly fancy or elaborately presented, but rather simple and traditional, creating a nice sense of familiarity and closeness with the food. Personally, I really enjoyed the vegetables. Of course, the main meat and fish dishes were also delicious, but the preparation and seasoning of the vegetables really showcased the essence of French cuisine. I started with a glass of champagne for my first drink, and then moved on to a bottle of Pinot Noir, which I love. They had a wide variety of bottle options, starting from around ¥4,000 for a full bottle, and I think there were some cheaper options for half bottles as well. While recognizable brands like GUCCI or Louis Vuitton are nice occasionally, there is a certain charm and taste to non-mainstream brands that have their own unique world view and story. So, if you prefer more mainstream, easily recognizable brands, you may find this place lacking, but for me, it maintained a down-to-earth, approachable atmosphere in all aspects, which I really appreciated. I like places that are not overly luxurious but have a touch of elegance, and this restaurant made me feel like I would definitely want to visit again.
