This is one of my favorite restaurants that I always use when staying at the Okura. It's almost always full, so I recommend making a reservation before going. This time, I decided to try the monthly limited lunch course. It has become a recent favorite at our house. - Special four kinds of assorted cold dishes. A classic and delicious choice. - Shrimp and winter melon soup with minced meat. The gentle taste of winter melon permeates the dish. - Grilled vegetable dim sum. It has a fragrant and delicious taste. - Pork belly steamed with Chinese black bean miso. It has a good balance with the vegetables. - Spicy stir-fried shrimp. A little spicy. - Cold soba noodles with steamed basket and sesame sauce. Perfect for hot days. - Almond jelly. Another classic choice. I would like to try it for dinner again sometime. Thank you for the meal.

2023 Cold Noodle Journey #30 at Momokalin: "Gomoku Hiyashi Soba" for 2,700 yen. We had lunch for two at Ginza Six. However, what do you think about "separate toppings"? My daughter chose to have all the toppings, but I prefer only some for flavor variation. The presentation requires some artistic sense, but it was delicious! The noodles were nicely chilled and firm, topped with sesame seeds. #2023ColdNoodleJourney #ColdNoodleJourney #Momokalin #HotelOkura #GomokuHiyashiSoba #SeparateToppings

After 9 years, the lobster in chili sauce looked amazing! Private rooms where you can eat slowly without worrying about others are the best! <MENU> 1- Special assorted cold appetizers. Delicious! 2- Shark fin soup with crab roe. 3- Peking duck. Delicious! 4- Steamed abalone with seaweed. 5- Beef with Chinese black bean miso sauce (prepared in two ways). 6- Lobster in chili sauce. 7- Shrimp wonton noodles. 8- Almond jelly with fresh fruit. 9- Fried sweets with sesame. The appetizers and Peking duck were delicious. Thank you, The Okura TOKYO.

The prices may feel quite high, but this Chinese restaurant serves delicious meat dishes. The Beef Shabu Cold Noodles (Jade Noodles) cost ¥3500, Sweet and Sour Pork costs ¥4000, and 2 pieces of Shumai cost ¥600. It was a while since I had such delicious Chinese food. The Shumai was smaller than expected, so I recommend getting 4 pieces instead.

The Chinese restaurant "Toukarin" at Hotel Okura was disappointing in terms of both food and service, but I wanted to visit once, so it was a good experience. This time, I stayed at Hotel Okura and made a reservation for "Toukarin" through the concierge for my special day.

I often heard people say that if it's Chinese cuisine, Peach Blossom Forest at Okura is the best! I haven't been here in 4 or 5 years, but it's definitely delicious. This is my favorite Cantonese restaurant, so I'm looking forward to it. First, cheers with beer! The special assorted cold dishes include steamed shrimp, steamed chicken, Jinhua ham, roasted pork, jellyfish, and green vegetables. Everything is delicious with a light flavor. Shaoxing wine, Gu Yue Long Shan, 5-year-old. A famous brand that anyone who likes Shaoxing wine would know. The sweetness and thickness are decent. The crab and shark fin soup with egg is a classic menu item here. It's very rich with the aroma of crab and shark fin. Beijing duck is not greasy, and the miso sauce is relatively light. It's already rolled up when served, so it lacks the crispiness. White wine is refreshing and easy to drink. Stir-fried scallop with Chinese black bean miso is delicious with a strong garlic flavor. Beef casserole stir-fry has tender meat simmered to perfection with a thick sauce. Green vegetables. The shrimp in chili sauce is spicy and the shrimp is plump and juicy. Shirasu rice with dried scallop sauce has a lack of ingredients for the amount of rice. The rice itself is not very tasty, but the toppings are delicious. The pickled vegetables are good, not too salty. Oolong tea is strong with a bitter taste. It's delicious. Seasonal fruit almond jelly with fruits, which includes watermelon. The almond jelly is soft and delicious, with just the right amount of sweetness from the watermelon. One bite cookies. I ended up drinking a lot even though it's not all-you-can-drink (^^) Japanese luxury hotels and Chinese cuisine are a great combination. The service is good, and the taste is impeccable. There are hotel Chinese restaurants in Gifu as well, but the level is honestly different. Thank you for the meal.

A belated Mother's Day celebration. I treated my mother and wife to a luxurious lunch at the Peach Blossom Forest in Hotel Okura. The course lunch, costing just under 8,000 yen per person, was a rare indulgence with five cold appetizers, shark fin soup with five ingredients, and deep-fried prawns with XO sauce and mayonnaise that were incredibly delicious. The full course consisted of 8 items. We usually stick to casual Chinese restaurants, so it was nice to enjoy a course lunch at the Okura level once in a while. Perhaps it's expected at Okura, but they were very attentive to my wife's allergies, accommodating changes to the menu with grace. The service was extremely polite. I drank too much of the delicious jasmine tea.

We celebrated a birthday with our family of four. We had a choice between reservations at 11:00 or 14:00. We added Peking duck to the 7900 yen lunch course. Everything was delicious, especially the shrimp tempura and appetizers. In addition to the cake, we received peach steamed buns for the celebration. We were so full that we took the cake home. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Located within the Okura Hotel, the Chinese restaurant "Toukarin" offers a delightful experience of history and tradition. This time, we had a special request to recreate a course that was once presented to Emperor Showa, even though it was not on the menu. The "Steamed Soup with Whole Chicken and Shark Fin," which was said to be a favorite of Emperor Showa, is an ultimate dish combining a whole chicken simmered in a rich broth with shark fin. Other dishes recreated based on the recipes left at the restaurant are equally impressive, simple yet meticulously prepared with great care.

Today I had lunch at Momokarin at Hotel Okura. First, I tried the spring rolls, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, delicious! I dipped it in mustard for a bite, then added vinegar for a different flavor and had another bite! I also tried the shumai. Then I ordered the tantanmen noodles. The rich and creamy flavor was very satisfying. Thank you for the delicious meal!

It's a taste of stability. With dishes like crab roe and shark fin soup, Peking duck, scallops with black bean miso, beef and bamboo shoot stir-fry, and large shrimp in chili sauce, the classics keep coming. What makes it feel fresh is that the flavors exceed expectations. It's a must for family celebrations.

Today, I had delicious Chinese food at OKURA. The quality was very high. I had a special assorted cold dish, followed by shark fin soup with soy sauce, deep-fried crab claws, sautéed shrimp and squid with broccoli, miso-braised pork with skin-on, served with Hanamaki, tasty five-flavor fried rice, and very delicious almond tofu with seasonal fruits. Finally, there was a tasty bite-sized dessert. The Chinese food was very delicious, and the customer service at the restaurant was excellent.

Thank you for viewing. I would appreciate it if you could follow, like, save, and follow me on Instagram. The entrance was magnificent haha. The mountain jellyfish in the assorted appetizers had a good texture and was my favorite. The Peking duck was crispy and delicious, and the crab and scallop fried rice with pickled vegetables was also good.

At Hotel Okura Tokyo on the second day of the New Year, I visited the Cantonese restaurant, Tohka Rin, for the first time and enjoyed a special New Year's course. Although the restaurant was fully booked and busy, there was some inconsistency in service by the staff, which was disappointing for an Okura restaurant. However, the food was excellent. The crab roe and shark fin soup was rich and delicious yet easy to drink. The Beijing duck and seafood platter with steamed Hokkaido abalone in XO sauce were also delicious. Thank you for the meal. The menu is as follows:
- Special assorted cold dishes (forgot to take a photo...)
- Shark fin soup with crab roe
- Beijing duck
- Seafood platter (steamed Hokkaido abalone in XO sauce, large prawns in chili sauce)
- Wagyu steak with Chinese black bean miso sauce
- Five-treasure fried rice
- Almond tofu with fresh fruit
- Glutinous rice balls with coconut flavor

I went to the Chinese restaurant "Toukarin" at Hotel Okura for the first time with my parents. Since we didn't make a reservation, we arrived a little before the opening time at 11:30, so we were able to get in smoothly. My father doesn't eat much, so he ordered the crab fried rice on its own. My mother and I ordered the "Hongyu" course. The "Hongyu" menu included a special 5-item cold appetizer platter, jellyfish sashimi, pickled daikon, zha cai, steamed chicken, Okura special char siu, Cantonese-style shark fin soup, vegetable dumplings, beef and broccoli stir-fry, shrimp in chili sauce, fried chicken, sweet and sour mixed fried rice, almond jelly. The beef and broccoli stir-fry and shrimp in chili sauce were delicious. The fried rice was also tasty but the portion was too much, so they kindly packed the leftovers for us to take home.

I stayed at the Okura hotel for the first night of my Shikishima Island trip. My daughter and Otto drove me there, and the three of us enjoyed a delicious lunch set together. The service at Okura was impeccable, and we were all impressed by their attention to detail. For lunch, we ordered chicken soba, shrimp fried rice, spring rolls, and shrimp rolls. Would you like to share with everyone? Yes, they brought out each lunch set separately and even divided them up for us. The warm dishes were served warm, and the cold dishes were served cold. Today is Otto's birthday, and they even drew "happy birthday" on a peach steamed bun as a special service. Thank you very much.

Today, during a break from work, I went to Okura for lunch after a long time. The restaurant is located on the 6th floor of the Prestige Tower. The restaurant doesn't have the flashy atmosphere typical of hotel Chinese restaurants, but rather has a subdued charm that would appeal to older customers. For lunch today, I ordered the September limited lunch course for ¥5,300 (including tax and service charge). The course included:
- Special 4 kinds of assorted cold appetizers: Each dish was delicately flavored and delicious, with the jellyfish being particularly tasty.
- Steamed meatballs and glass noodles soup: The soup had a wonderful aroma, possibly from dried shiitake mushrooms, and the meatballs were light and fluffy.
- Scallop and shrimp wrapped in bean curd skin: The dish contained a large scallop inside, and while the taste was good, the texture of the bean curd skin could have been more crispy.
- Stir-fried squid and celery: The squid had a soft texture, and I felt that a squid with a firmer texture would have been a better fit for this dish.
- Steamed white fish and tofu with Chinese black bean miso: The white fish was tender, and the miso flavor gave the dish a unique blend of Chinese and Japanese influences.
- Five-flavored fried rice: This was the highlight of the meal! The large, plump shrimp added a delightful touch, and the rice was perfectly seasoned and fluffy.
- Almond jelly with pear: The almond flavor was mild, almost like a milk pudding, and it was a perfect ending to the meal.
Overall, the course offered good value for the price, with a decent portion size and a subtle, elderly-friendly Chinese cuisine. While I prefer more bold and traditional Chinese flavors, Okura provided a pleasant dining experience with no issues. The service was also satisfactory, allowing for a leisurely meal. In the past, Okura used to be highly praised as the go-to place for Chinese cuisine, but with the abundance of delicious Chinese restaurants in Tokyo now, it has lost some of its special appeal. Nonetheless, it was a satisfying meal.

I ordered room service at The Okura Tokyo during my stay. This time, I tried the five-ingredient fried rice with soup, five-ingredient fried noodles, and two spring rolls. The fried rice was cooked perfectly, not too dry, with a nice balance of saltiness. The fried noodles were crispy on the outside and topped with a thick, savory sauce, filled with plenty of ingredients like shrimp, squid, and pork. The spring rolls were surprisingly crunchy on the outside and filled with a generous amount of ingredients like bamboo shoots and pork, making them deliciously satisfying. Even the soup that came with the set was tasty, with just the right amount of saltiness. Overall, the flavors were just to my liking.

The highlight of having lunch at a hotel is being able to enjoy the atmosphere of the lobby. I saw a newlywed couple taking wedding photos. We opted for the Ryuju lunch course. The best thing about hotels is the richness of the broth that can be achieved due to their excellent sourcing of ingredients. - Special eight kinds of assorted cold dishes: There were various ingredients used, such as oven-baked pork chashu and pork belly, chicken, shrimp, and conger eel. - Crab and shark fin soup with crab roe: Simply rich and flavorful. The depth of umami in this soup can only be achieved at Oakura. The combination of crab roe and seafood flavor was very interesting. - Peking duck: Despite there being only one serving, the taste was satisfying. I personally am not a fan of Peking duck sauce, but I liked the fact that the Peking duck at Tao Hualin has a meat-forward flavor without being overly sweet. - Ezo abalone cream stew in a cocotte: The abalone was incredibly tender and almost melted in the mouth. - Beef with Chinese tea bean miso sauce: Two different cuts of beef cooked in two different ways. Both were tender, matched well with the sauce, and were delicious without feeling greasy. - Lobster in chili sauce: The lobster had a strong flavor and varied textures depending on the part. Each bite was a surprise in terms of taste, but consistently delicious. - Crab meat fried rice with thick sauce: The richness of the sauce was outstanding. It was filled with the umami of the broth that can only be found at Oakura. I didn't want the meal to end. - Dessert: It was not overly sweet and left a refreshing taste in the mouth. It was a luxurious course, but I was extremely satisfied.

Chilled Tan Tan Men for 2700 yen. Dim sum and almond jelly set for 1000 yen. It's a pity that you can't order a course. It seems to be a cold noodle fair now. The Tan Tan Men is a sweet and sour dish with a lot of sauce. It's not very spicy. The meat miso is salty, but it seems to be meant to be mixed. Shrimp dumplings, pork shumai. The almond jelly is a classic agar jelly dessert. You can choose lemon or fresh fruit. The fruits available are melon, watermelon, and papaya.
