Why are cupcakes so expensive? They cost around 400 yen each. I bought one for my child who wanted to have it for breakfast, but it's still expensive. Maybe it's good for gifts or something. I would buy something else though, haha.

There is a cupcake shop in Isesako. The shop has the British flag hanging and the cute pink cupcakes have a strong sugar taste. The cream on the cupcakes is firmer than expected. It reminds me of the cupcakes I had in America. It seems like they cater to foreign tastes. Personally, I may not be able to eat too many of them.

This day, I visited Shinagawa, Kitashinagawa, Izumigatake Temple, Shirokanetakanawa, Mita, and Daimon areas. A fairy girl who serves the fairy village ruler, Poiyan, came to Santa Rose to find humans willing to help save the fairy world from crisis. At that time in Santa Rose, only the protagonist, a 6-year-old child, and a baby panther noticed her and agreed to help, embarking on a journey to the fairy world. It's quite impressive with the music, but it was a bit sad to see that when I visited as an adult, the fairies like Bella were nowhere to be seen. Now, this is "Bella's Cupcake" located near Izumigatake Temple. It's a shop specializing in British-style cupcakes, opened by a British owner who noticed the lack of cupcake specialty shops in Japan. The shop is located near one of the top three soybean daifuku shops in Tokyo, Matsushima-ya. It stands out with its pink exterior and waving Union Jack flag. The area doesn't have such brightly colored buildings, making it quite eye-catching. The interior is very small, with just a showcase and a visible kitchen in the back, giving off a hyper-simple vibe. The online shop is well stocked, but the physical store is quite small, filling up with just two customers. During my visit, the previous customers had bought a lot, leaving the showcase quite empty, but they can make any available flavor quickly. Here are the items I tried: Red Velvet, Lemon, Pink Vanilla, Rocky Road Cupcake, Cookie & Cream Vanilla Coffee, and Special Cupcake. They were all delicious, with distinct flavors and beautiful presentation. The cupcakes need to be refrigerated, but they are easy to carry around, making them a good souvenir option. Thank you for the meal!

A cupcake specialty shop located in Sengetsu-ji. I used takeout for a snack at 3 o'clock on a holiday. The focus on cupcakes is interesting. The shop is small. Various cute cupcakes are lined up in the showcase. [Espresso Chocolate] (399 yen) There are two types of dough, chocolate and vanilla, and I chose chocolate that goes well with coffee. The cream on top is a hard espresso cream that melts delicately in the mouth. The dough is rich and moist chocolate. The flower served is marzipan. The scent of espresso goes well with coffee. Minato Ward electronic smile vouchers can be used for payment.

I finished shopping and on my way to the station, I came across a charming little shop. It was a specialty store for British cupcakes. As soon as I entered the small shop, I saw a display case filled with adorable cupcakes. I bought "Vanilla Chocolate", "Double Chocolate", and the "Special Cupcake". The special one had a banana flavor, and the gentle banana cream was delicious. They were all palm-sized and easy to eat, with a cute appearance. These cupcakes make great souvenirs that will surely bring joy to whoever receives them.

Senzanji is a shop I stopped by on my way back from Matsushima-ya. The store is very small, only enough space for 2 people. The cupcakes are kept in a showcase and should not be left at room temperature. I bought just one cupcake that day. It wasn't too big, so I ate it right away. The cupcake had cream on top, which was slightly firm, probably to prevent it from melting at room temperature. The slightly refreshing sweetness of the cream combined well with the sweetness of the cupcake itself. It cost around 350 yen, which seemed a bit expensive, but it was delicious.

The exterior is pink with the British flag as a sign. Upon entering, there is a showcase filled with colorful and cute cupcakes. I purchased the Red Velvet for 370 yen (the cocoa and wine vinegar red batter topped with cream cheese. The cocoa flavor is noticeable and there is a hint of vinegar aftertaste, which is interesting. Not too sweet due to the cream cheese). I also tried the seasonal cupcake for 370 yen (there are many seasonal cupcakes available, and the staff explained each one carefully. I chose the soda flavor cupcake. It has vanilla batter with soda-flavored cream and whipped cream on top. It is garnished with sugar-glazed cherries. The flavor is simple with a hint of soda aroma in the aftertaste). I preferred the soda cupcake over the Red Velvet. The service was excellent.

Located about a 5-minute walk from Izumigaoka Station and around an 8-minute walk from Takanawa Gateway Station, this place has a pink exterior with the British flag as a landmark. It seems to be popular on rainy weekdays. You can order custom-made cakes here, and they even offer reservations if you know you're going in advance. They have a variety of cute cupcakes to choose from. I opted for the High Takanawa Plate for an extra 100 yen. I highly recommend the carrot cake! It has a strong spice flavor and the texture is fluffy and moist. I was pleasantly surprised as I had always thought cupcakes were dry. I definitely want to visit again.

Next to Senkaku-ji Temple, I visited a cupcake shop with a distinctive pink sign for the first time in a while. It's a cute cupcake specialty store that will make you feel enchanted just by looking at it. The shop has been gaining attention in the media as a popular spot in the neighborhood since the opening of Takanawa Gateway Station on March 14, 2020. It is a take-out only store where you order one cupcake at a time at the counter. On this day, customers kept coming one after another. I bought the Takanawa Cupcake with the impressive Takanawa letters, as well as the classic Pink Vanilla and Mint Chocolate flavors. The light blue cream on the Takanawa Cupcake matches the colors of the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line. The sweet cream and soft cake were delicious, and I finished three of them in no time! Since the cupcakes are small, about 6cm in diameter, you can easily eat multiple pieces. They also sell a set of 3 or 6 cupcakes called "Welcome Takanawa 2020," which includes the Takanawa Cupcake and a Yamanote Line color cupcake. The design is cute and Japanese-style, just like the Takanawa Gateway Station building, making it perfect as a souvenir or a treat for yourself.

A cute cupcake shop that appears on the side of the hill, with a small interior for takeout only. They offer seasonal cupcakes, Rocky Road cupcakes, and a very impressive "Welcome Takanawa 2020" cupcake. The colorful and cute cupcakes are just right in sweetness and delicious. It would make a great gift that would surely be appreciated. Check out my blog for more details.

Upon leaving Izumigaoka Temple Station, crossing the main street, and climbing up the hill, you will find a small cupcake shop. It is a take-out only shop opened by a British woman who came to Japan. I purchased the "Lemon," "Pink Vanilla," and "Espresso" cupcakes, all priced at 350 yen each (tax included). The cupcake base for all flavors is vanilla. The cupcakes are made with good quality butter, giving them a fragrant, airy, and fluffy texture. They are not dry at all, and crumble softly in your mouth. The buttercream topping is also delicious, very soft and smooth. The Espresso flavor has a great balance of sweetness and bitterness, while the Lemon flavor is very refreshing. The Pink Vanilla flavor has a sweet aroma typical of foreign vanilla. I also received a complimentary Earl Grey iced tea, which was rich in aroma and had a strong, delicious tea flavor. The cupcakes are quite expensive at 350 yen each for their palm-sized portion, making them not suitable for everyday indulgence. However, their beautiful appearance and delicious taste make them worth trying. It feels like a small, delicious cupcake shop run by an individual in a foreign country has come directly to Japan. Perfect for a gift or a special occasion.

My reference point is 4.0. It is located near the A2 entrance/exit of the Toei Asakusa Line Izumadaiji Station (Izumadaiji intersection). It is a cupcake specialty store. The cupcakes are small, about 5-6cm in size. They are versatile sweets, making them useful for weddings, events, and catering. For example, you can express the message "Congratulations" with five cupcakes. This time, I purchased about four cupcakes. - Red Velvet: A cake with a cocoa base and cream cheese frosting on top. The natural reddish color from cocoa is quite impressive. - Choco Vanilla: An unidentified name (marshmallow with chocolate sauce). The cake base is the usual cocoa color with cream cheese frosting, small chocolate chips, or marshmallow and chocolate sauce on top. - Coconut & Cranberry: The cake tasted like coconut milk. The frosting has shredded coconut on top. In addition to cupcakes, they also have whole cakes and birthday cakes, so I will likely visit again.

Walking from Izumigakuji Station towards the Imasoko-zaka intersection, there is a cupcake shop. I peeked inside and found carrot cake, so I decided to buy one. I heard from someone who was eating while walking that this shop is the number one. I had high expectations, and when I tried it, the carrot cake was delicious with just the right amount of sweetness and a soft texture. It had a lingering ginger flavor, which was enjoyable. However, it was a bit small and expensive at 350 yen. Maybe it's because of the location. I discovered carrot cake when I was a student and have loved it ever since. I used to eat carrot cake quite often overseas, but not so much in Japan. Maybe I should start exploring carrot cakes in Japan! 😄

I have had standard vanilla and chocolate cupcakes before, which were sweet and had a typical Western taste, making them visually appealing but just average in flavor. However, this time I tried a limited edition raspberry cupcake with cream cheese frosting, and it was a great choice! The bold flavor of the cake paired perfectly with the rich cream, creating a delicious combination. Although they are a bit pricey for their size, they are definitely worth it.

Today is another exciting day! "JACKing Bella!" "Marriage of your heart." With love from the wild sommelier Masaki Nakabayashi. Hmm? Bella? Want to become human soon? By Bem, Bella, and Belo (laughs). Yes, yes! Today, it's the representative of sweet-toothed guys, Nakabayashi. A favorite shop just 5 minutes away from us, Bellas Cupcakes. Their vibrant and colorful designs make you happy just by looking at them. Each one is super cute! You can even customize with messages or logos with advance reservations. If you can't decide, the super cute angel-like staff will help you choose. Perfect for gifts, treats, or souvenirs, it will surely bring joy! Someday, when you have a wine-loving girlfriend, bring wine and enjoy cupcakes and wine outside the shop. Thank you as always! Want to drink? A fierce comedy stirred up by active women living on Wisteria Lane in the suburbs? That's "Desperate Housewives." My top 3 favorite foreign dramas are Glee, Desperate Housewives, and Beverly Hills, 90210. It's a side note, but (laughs). A cupcake shop is quite unique. The colorful display case is eye-catching, and the cupcakes are reasonably priced, making them great for gifts. The cupcakes are not too sweet and easy to eat, so you can easily enjoy 2-3 at a time. Delicious!
