Cloudy Saturday around 11:20 visit. Notice posted stating closed from 9/10 to 10/2. Dangerous. About 15 groups in line. Since it's take-out, purchase completed in about 15 minutes. Mame Daifuku x2 540 yen. Smooth red bean paste with a perfect balance of salted edamame. The saltiness and sweetness create a strong sense of happiness. Feels like Harajuku, with a slightly refined atmosphere. An old-fashioned building suddenly appearing in a young neighborhood. The simple Mame Daifuku being sold doesn't stand out. The vibe of the people in line is different. This corner is like a different space. Even as the city changes, I hope this store remains the same.

[Opening Hours] 9:00~(until sold out) ※Closed on Sundays, Mondays
I wanted to eat some bean daifuku, so I visited the store around 4:00 pm, but it was already closed. I visited again around 12:00 pm and was able to buy without waiting in line. Be warned, it's important to go early! This traditional Japanese confectionery shop only sells bean daifuku, no other varieties. You can choose the number of pieces, from 1 to 30. This attention to detail is impressive.
[Today's Order]
◆ Special Bean Daifuku 6 pieces ¥1,728 (tax included)
Today, I ordered a set of 6 pieces. The sweetness is mild, not overwhelming, so you can easily eat two at once. The texture of the beans is also incredibly delicious. If you want bean daifuku, "Mizuho" is the right place to go! There are many customers buying for souvenirs, but with this quality, everyone who receives it will be happy. Thank you for the delicious treat!

The daifuku is very soft and melts in your mouth. It has plenty of smooth and sweet red bean paste, with a nice balance of saltiness and sweetness. The chewy texture of the beans adds to the overall deliciousness of the daifuku. I recommend getting the boxed version for a perfect gift. Arrived at 10:00 (6 people waiting) and was able to purchase at 10:20. Business hours are from 8:30am until sold out. It is recommended to arrive early as they often sell out by lunchtime. Note that they are closed on Sundays.

This famous shop in Harajuku sells delicious bean daifuku. I heard that you can't make a reservation and have to buy directly at the store, and they sell out quickly. I arrived at the store before noon and was able to buy about 6 individual pieces. I'm not a big fan of bean daifuku, but I really enjoyed the fluffy texture of the mochi, the lightly sweet red bean paste, and the salty beans in this particular one. I wanted to eat more. The mochi was surprisingly soft and fluffy, and the expiration date was only for that day. I ate one right after buying it, and another one at night, which did start to harden over time. I had one left until the next day, which was a bit different haha. The red bean paste was not too sweet, and the addition of salt made it easier to eat even for those who don't like red bean paste. It would make a nice gift. Toasting it when it hardens gives it a different but pleasant taste. Even for those who don't like daifuku much, this fluffy and sophisticated bean daifuku is worth trying at least once. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I pass by it on my way to the beauty salon and use it on days when there is no line. Sometimes, near the shop, you can smell the scent of cooking red beans. Customers go into the shop one by one, waiting for the person in front to come out before entering. There is only one menu, so it's simple. I always buy three pieces. The texture is soft. It's important to time it right because it's often sold out in the morning. Even though it's not too sweet, the chewy dough and the saltiness of the red beans match well and it's delicious. It has a different character from Gunrindo.

I tried several times to visit this place but it always seemed closed. I finally realized that they close after selling out. On my third attempt, I went early and was able to buy their delicious daifuku with a good balance of salt and plenty of tasty beans. It was worth the wait!

On a hot summer day, I passed by this place and saw no one in line, so I decided to try it out. The woman there was not very friendly, but it had a retro Showa era vibe that I liked. The daifuku looked great and had a perfect balance of sweetness and chewiness. It was delicious, but I felt like something was missing. I had forgotten that I prefer chunky red bean paste filling. If you like smooth red bean paste, give it a try!

Visited around 10:30 on Saturday, with no customers inside. Payment was cash only. Purchased 2 individual items for retail and 1 box of 6 for gifting, which was packed in the back of the store upon ordering. The female staff member who assisted was calm and provided a smooth handover. The mame daifuku should be stored at room temperature, with the expiration date being the same day. The mochi is not very tall, more of a flat shape for daifuku. It is relatively large for mame daifuku. The beans are salty and the skin of the beans is left in the mouth due to the simmering level. The red bean paste is smooth with a moderate sweetness that is not overwhelming, allowing one to finish one piece without feeling tired.

Visited a traditional Japanese confectionery shop near Meiji Shrine where a friend's company is located. After finishing my business and having lunch, I stopped by this shop that I've always wanted to visit on my way to the station. The shop is famous for its bean daifuku, so I finally got to try it. I bought 3 pieces of bean daifuku. The mochi is fresh and moist, the beans have a strong salty flavor, and the sweet bean paste has an elegant sweetness. The salty taste of the beans enhances the sweetness of the bean paste, making it delicious. It's a simple but addictive bean daifuku. I would like to visit again.

I arrived around 11 o'clock. Since it was a weekday, I was able to buy it without having to wait in line! It is a very large and satisfying dish. The rice cake has a hint of salt, and the sweet bean paste is elegantly flavored. Be sure to eat it soon because the rice cake tends to harden quickly (the expiration date is the same day). Eat it as soon as you buy it!

This is my first visit! I arrived on a Saturday morning after 10 o'clock. I heard from other reviews that there might be a line, but when I got there, one person had just bought their items and I was able to purchase without waiting. After buying some items, I went to a convenience store to buy a drink and when I looked back, there were about 5 people in line. I was fortunate to have good timing. The mochi was very soft, the red bean paste was not too sweet, and the beans had a nice salty flavor, making it very delicious! If I have the chance, I would like to purchase again!

As I was strolling around, I came across a charming building and realized it was a shop I had been wanting to check out. I bought one item on the spot and also got a souvenir. I ate it later, and freshly bought goods are definitely the best. It was creamy, sweet, and delicious. However, it started to harden a bit by the evening. It was a bit challenging to eat it outside without getting my mouth and hands covered in white.

Good evening. I am a beauty acupuncturist, Kozue. The other day, I visited a sweets shop near Meiji-jingumae Station. This time, I went to a Japanese confectionery store called Mizuho. I had tried to visit this shop several times before, but it was closed or too crowded with customers, so I gave up. However, this time I was able to visit the shop before 10 o'clock and finally bought a bean daifuku. You can buy daifuku individually. The daifuku is relatively large and heavy. The red bean paste inside is smooth and not too sweet, with a hint of saltiness. Additionally, the mochi has beans scattered throughout, giving it a solid texture and a salty flavor. I thought the balance between the smooth red bean paste and the firm bean texture was good. It was a bean daifuku with a delicately refined sweetness. I was very satisfied to finally buy the bean daifuku I had been longing for. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had a morning errand nearby and happened to pass by on my way back when miraculously it was still open, so I decided to purchase one. It was around 11:30 on a rainy day, with three groups of people lined up but I only had to wait for about five minutes to make my purchase. It cost 270 yen per piece! I think the other Tokyo's top three soybean daifuku: Matsumoto-ya and Gunrindo, were around 200 yen per piece. The daifuku I bought wasn't particularly large, and although I don't remember Gunrindo, I feel like it's smaller than Matsumoto-ya. When I brought it home and ate it, I found that the red bean paste was smooth. Matsumoto-ya and Gunrindo had chunky red bean paste, so it caught me off guard. I'm not a fan of smooth red bean paste and even thought "I can't eat this kind of red bean paste!" The red bean paste wasn't particularly mild in sweetness, it was quite sweet. The beans were small and not too many were included. The rice cake was soft. Personally, I prefer daifuku with chunky red bean paste, where you can taste the saltiness of the beans, so my ranking would be: 1st place Matsumoto-ya, 2nd place Gunrindo, and 3rd place Mizuho. Thank you for the meal.

"Day Off Food Log: Visiting 100 Famous Restaurants in Harajuku & Shibuya - No.1 Today, I woke up earlier than usual and set off for a morning exploration of 100 famous restaurants! However, we didn't eat in the morning, we only attacked the places that are only open in the morning! I went to 'Mizuho' at 'Sweets 100 Famous Restaurants' in Harajuku. It is located about 7 minutes away from the east exit of Harajuku station, towards Omotesando, through the back alleys. This shop specializes in bean daifuku and opens at 9:00 AM. They are open until lunchtime, but once they sell out, they close. No reservations are accepted, so you can only purchase by lining up on operating days. I arrived just after 10:00 AM. There were already about 15 people in line. After waiting for about 40 minutes, I finally made it inside the shop. Inside, there were shelves displaying a variety of boxed bean daifuku, and there was only enough space for one person to place an order. This time, I bought 3 bean daifuku for 270 yen each. When I got home, I tried them right away. They were quite big, and I was surprised by how soft they were when taking them out of the bag! The sticky dough is very stretchy and the dough is kneaded with just the right amount of salt. The elegant sweetness of the red bean paste is perfectly balanced. It was not just sweet, but each bean daifuku was crafted to appreciate the sweetness, which was truly impressive. The price is on the higher side at 270 yen, almost double the price of convenience store sweets or supermarket wagashi, but I was completely satisfied and found it worth the cost. If you are in the Harajuku area in the morning, why not stop by and give it a try?"

I was able to go shopping at Mizuho for the first time in a while. I also went to Harajuku last year, but I missed the closing time as it was past 12 o'clock. This time, I arrived around 10:30. There were about 2-3 people waiting in line. Someone was eating by the roadside and said, "It's better to eat it right away." It must be really delicious. Since the daifuku doesn't keep well, I thought I would buy some manju if they had any left, but it turns out they only had daifuku. Too bad. But even if they only have one item, I hope they can keep the store open.

I came to Jingu-mae in Shibuya for work, so I bought a souvenir for Mizuho who is only open in the morning. My grandmother used to live near here, so whenever we went to buy toys at Kiddy Land in Harajuku, we would always stop by and buy this nostalgic treat on our way back. The mochi is soft and chewy, with just the right amount of beans and a lovely balance of mildly sweet red bean paste. It's a favorite of my mother's too, so I bought some for home as well.

Around noon, I headed to the store with a little bit of resignation knowing that they might be sold out and closed by then on Saturdays. However, I arrived around 12:15 and to my luck, there were about 10 pieces of daifuku left. Maybe it was thanks to the heavy rain from yesterday to this morning. The daifuku had a firm volume, with thick and soft mochi containing beans, and a smooth red bean paste. It was really delicious.

Passing by, I couldn't resist and ended up buying three. I had one on the same day, and froze the other two. After a week, I defrosted them. After naturally thawing and warming them up a bit, they were delicious without any issues. It may be unconventional, but for me, this might be the true flavor of Mizuho (a type of food). In the Showa era, my aunt's freezer was always filled with frozen Mizuho and Kuuya (another type of food) (laughs) Thank you for the meal♪
