Raiicha: Matcha Beer (¥700-) and Rich Matcha Tea (¥650-) In between sightseeing in Asakusa, my wife who wanted sweets and I who wanted a beer found common ground. The rare matcha beer was refreshing, especially with the humidity of autumn and our thirst. My wife, questioning the server if the bear was riding on the rich matcha soft serve, was in high spirits during our trip. Travel moods can be quite unpredictable!

First, it's Thunder Tea. The main store is located in a secluded area, so it wasn't as crowded as expected. I was able to enter smoothly, place my order in about 10 minutes, and get my desired strong tea ice cream in about 10 minutes. The taste is above average, but the cute smiles of the male staff made the experience enjoyable. Their hospitality was good, so overall it was a decent shopping experience. Thank you for the meal.

It's hot, I'm tired, and I want something cold. I see an ice cream shop in front of me, so I decide to go in. While waiting in line, I look at the menu and see a picture of matcha beer. As a lover of interesting things, I immediately order it! After a short wait, a cup with green liquid topped with foam is served. It looks like a cream soda at first glance. I take a sip and taste the bitterness of the beer followed by the matcha flavor. It was exactly as it sounded! My partner opted for ice cream, which was delicious with its rich matcha flavor.

★3.7 [FILE 4191] August 6, 2023 (Sunday) 13:15 Visited Parkside Hanakawado on Umamichi Street, a tea sweets specialty store that opened 7 years and 5 months ago in March 2016. There are three sister stores: 1st store Raiichi Asakusa Main Store opened in March 2016, 2nd store Raiichi Matcha Experience Store opened in March 2019, and 3rd store Raiichi Denboin Street Store opened in October 2020. As of May 2023, there have been no changes in the number of stores, with a total of 14 remaining. The interior of the store has a calm atmosphere with a wood theme. Upon entering, there are counter seats on the right and table seats on the right, making it the only store among the three with table seats. During the visit, about 80% of the seats were occupied. Subsequently, the seating remained at around 80% capacity, which was less crowded compared to the other two stores (which were very crowded). The customer base is 80% female and 20% male. Service is efficiently provided by one female staff member. The menu includes: - Matcha Warabi with 3.5% Kyoto Prefecture Stone-milled First-Class Tea Leaves: ¥850 (tax included) - Matcha: ¥650 (tax included) - Matcha Warabi with 2.5% Kyoto Prefecture Stone-milled First-Class Tea Leaves: ¥700 (tax included) - Matcha: ¥500 (tax included) - Hojicha: ¥450 (tax included) - Royal Milk Tea Warabi: ¥650 (tax included) - Royal Milk Tea: ¥450 (tax included). I ordered the Matcha Warabi for ¥700. The Matcha Warabi was served 1 minute after ordering. It is a jar dessert with Matcha Warabi mochi hidden at the bottom, topped with ice cream made from 2.5% Kyoto Prefecture Stone-milled First-Class Tea Leaves, Matcha, and a panda-shaped monaka. The rich Matcha ice cream is delicious, and the hidden Warabi mochi at the bottom is soft and tasty. The interior of the store has a calm atmosphere with a wood theme. Raiichi Matcha Experience Store and Raiichi Denboin Street Store near Sensoji Temple are very crowded with no tables, while Raiichi Asakusa Main Store has table seats available. Various cashless payment options are accepted. The Matcha Warabi for ¥700 is delicious with its rich Matcha ice cream and hidden Warabi mochi at the bottom.

I received a cup of thick matcha tea. I started lining up near the entrance and placed my order in about 10 minutes. As I got closer to the register, I noticed how small the items were when they were served to other customers at the counter. The bear-shaped monaka was not only cute but also crispy and delicious. The matcha was rich and satisfying, making it very tasty. Thank you for the meal.

Visited "Yuki-icha Asakusa Main Store," a matcha specialty shop, located a 5-minute walk from Asakusa Station. Arrived around 11:30 am on Sunday and was the 5th in line. Was able to pay in about 10 minutes. Purchased a matcha soft serve for 500 yen. Enjoyed it in the shop. The matcha flavor was excellent and delicious. There were small corn kernels on top of the soft serve, which added a nice texture. It was a delightful treat from start to finish.

While strolling around Asakusa, we stumbled upon a shop that caught our eye with its matcha beer. We decided to stop by and although there were seats inside, it was crowded with foreign tourists. We opted for takeout and enjoyed our matcha beer while exploring Asakusa. The bitterness of the matcha combined with the smoothness of the beer was delicious. It became a wonderful memory for us.

While strolling around Asakusa, I started to feel hot and thought I wanted to drink something. Then I happened to pass by a tea shop, so I decided to try their matcha. They had three levels of intensity, and although I wanted to try the strongest one, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to finish it, so I went with the second option. It had just the right balance of bitterness and umami.

The matcha soft serve here is really rich in matcha flavor and delicious. It had crunchy pieces similar to crushed thunder rice cakes or rice puffs in it. The drink with warabi mochi looked delicious too. I want to try the menu with warabi mochi next time or the hojicha soft serve.

I ordered 2 matcha lattes with a mild sweetness. There is a bench available for dining in, but no tables. They also sell souvenirs that look delicious. Personally, I prefer the matcha latte from Starbucks!

I visited this main store because I had found the sister store before while walking around Senso-ji Temple, which opened in November. I love both matcha and hojicha, but lately I've been craving hojicha more, so I quickly decided on hojicha soft serve. I ordered it in a cup and was given a number tag. After a short wait, a cute panda cone snack with hojicha soft serve arrived. The hojicha soft serve had a slightly firm texture, which was a bit different from what I expected, but the taste was delicious. There are benches for eating in, and it gets crowded during snack time. They also sell matcha cream puffs and baumkuchen, and the second floor is a tea room. I would love to try their anmitsu if I have the chance.

Asakusa food hopping gourmet 10th stop. The 11th stop is a shop with three locations in Asakusa, specializing in "Rich Matcha Sweets. "Good quality matcha that is not bitter." The concept is to use luxury first-class tea in their sweets. I was intrigued by their appearance on SNS, so I decided to visit. The main store is about a 5-minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Ginza Line, near Senso-ji Temple. One of the items that caught my eye on Asakusa food hopping was the "Matcha Warabi Gelato." It is gelato made with 2.5-3.5% Kyoto prefecture stone-milled first-class tea leaves, combined with crispy rice cakes and matcha warabi mochi. The rich matcha ice cream, chewy warabi mochi, and smooth warabi mochi provided a delightful variety of textures and flavors. [Order] - Matcha Warabi Gelato 750 yen.

I had a tempura bowl at Daikokuya, and afterwards I felt like having something sweet. I got green tea ice cream because I'm not a fan of tea or coffee, but I prefer carbonated water. However, I love sweet milk tea and café au lait. I put the ice cream in a panda-shaped monaka and ate it. Eating it with the monaka is better than just eating the ice cream alone. It feels like a win-win situation and tastes delicious.

After sauna, we went to Asakusa with my family. Whenever I come back from sauna, I always feel like eating something. So, how about "Raiichi Asakusa Main Store"? They have a famous matcha beer. It has a perfect balance of matcha flavor and beer bitterness, very delicious. The shaved ice was also excellent! Thank you for the meal!

I arrived in Asakusa. I tried the matcha ice cream that Rino-chan (HKT48's Rino Sakamoto) posted on Instagram as a matching activity. From the komainu (lion-dog) in the photo with the product, I found out that this place is called Raiichiya. When I visited in the morning, there were few customers and it seemed like I could eat in. (Later, when I passed by, there were so many people that it was too crowded to enter, it's really popular.) Rino-chan said there was a bear doll on the ice cream, but it definitely looks like a panda, right? It's in the same Taito ward as Ueno. I took a photo in front of the komainu outside just like Rino-chan, but the ice cream started melting, so I hurried to finish it. The rich matcha flavor is delicious. It's a bit sad how quickly it disappears... ^^)

There is a specialty store for matcha sweets called Nitenmon straight ahead. They also had regular beer, but what caught my attention was the matcha beer, priced at 700 yen. I decided to choose this one. The beer with matcha dissolved in it had a good flavor, but the taste was a bit unique. I was able to enjoy the curious taste.

I took a break here during my walk. Lately, there are more matcha specialty shops popping up. They have a stone mill inside where they grind matcha. The seating area is spacious, so there is a good distance between customers for peace of mind. Now, my throat is dry so I will have some iced matcha. There is no size option, and it costs ¥600. It is unsweetened, allowing me to savor the true taste of matcha. It has a nice balance of bitterness. They also have beer, and I was curious about matcha beer. (laughs)

It was good. The O-Nomachi Warabi for 750 yen includes warabi mochi, tea mousse, crushed warabi, amazake seeds, and tea ice cream. For some reason, it also comes with a panda monaka. The portion size is small but very delicious. Despite being the main store, there were noticeable empty seats, allowing for a relaxed and calm Edo atmosphere to enjoy dessert time. I think I will visit again.

There were many things related to matcha. The customers were all tourists, but I saw a sign that said "Green Tea Beer" and got curious, so I decided to go in. When I asked, it turned out to be matcha-flavored beer. Since I don't drink beer, I opted for cold-brewed green tea instead. There was a sign on the wall that said "Matcha isn't bitter" in cheap English, which made me laugh. So what? right?

I was able to enjoy a 600 yen unsweetened ice matcha. It was rich and not too sweet, and very delicious. The soft serve ice cream also looked very rich and delicious. I'm not sure if it's only for a limited time, but it had a panda monaka topping.
