"First Experience at 'Wagou Gyoza'! After a light overtime at work, a colleague suggested having some Chinese food for lunch since we had a light meal earlier. We decided on this restaurant, which was located on the second floor. Initially, we missed it as the shutter was closed and it looked dark below, but we eventually noticed the sign for 'Wagou Gyoza' and went in. There were various types of gyoza on the menu, so we decided to try the recommended 'Wagou Yaki Gyoza: 390 yen' and the intriguing 'Myoga Yaki Gyoza: 490 yen'. We also ordered 'Black Vinegar Pork: 850 yen' and 'Edamame: 280 yen'. We started with bottled beer for a toast, and I later switched to my favorite 'Shaoxing wine' for a good time. The black vinegar pork had a good balance of meat and vegetables, making it a satisfying and delicious dish. The edamame was generously portioned and a great value at 280 yen. Now, onto the main dish - the gyoza. They were surprisingly large, and we were initially worried about ordering two types, but they turned out to be delicious and easy to eat. The filling was plentiful, and the seasoning was so good that we didn't need any extra sauce. The meat juices oozed out with each bite, so it's best to eat them in one go despite their size. The pricing was quite affordable considering the size and taste of the gyoza. I enjoyed dipping the 'Wagou Yaki Gyoza' in sauce slightly, while the 'Myoga Yaki Gyoza' was best enjoyed without any sauce, thanks to the refreshing myoga flavor and texture. I really liked it here - the gyoza was delicious and I can see myself becoming a regular customer. The seasoning of both the black vinegar pork and the gyoza was excellent, so I look forward to trying other dishes on the menu. I will definitely come back to try more dishes in the future!"

Overall rating criteria: The average (normal) rating is 3.0 points, with ratings in 0.5 increments. The total points are calculated by multiplying food/taste by 4, service by 2, atmosphere by 2, and cost performance by 2, then dividing the sum by 10. Alcohol/drinks are not included in the evaluation. Missing information. Delicious.

Personally, this is the number one knife-cut noodle restaurant for me. It beats out Knife-Cut Noodle Garden. Especially the spicy knife-cut noodles. What's great about it is the generous amount of vegetables in it. It's satisfying to eat. The only downside is that the noodles are a bit soft. I prefer them to be a bit harder, like eating a lump of wheat flour.

I got off the taxi near my destination in June 2023. It was so hot, incredibly hot. I planned to grab a bite before my afternoon mission and ended up at a different restaurant than originally intended. As soon as I got off the taxi, I saw this restaurant right in front of me, so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant was full, but I patiently waited for a table. Luckily, a table opened up quickly, and I ordered the hot and sour knife-cut noodles. My group of three each ordered noodle dishes, with two choosing the spicy knife-cut noodles. I suggested we share fried rice and dumplings. The food arrived, and it was a feast. The dumplings were large, the fried rice was generous, and the noodle dishes looked spicy. I dug in and started with the hot and sour knife-cut noodles, which were spicy with a good balance of sourness and flavor. Despite the intense heat, the noodles were delicious. The fried rice was flavorful with plump shrimp and a hint of green onions. The dumplings were big and had a chewy skin with a juicy filling. Overall, the food was tasty, and I would definitely come back to this restaurant despite the average service.

"Wagou Gyoza-ten" Spicy Knife-Cut Noodles ¥850 Whenever I come near the Wagou Gyoza Company, I always order the Gyoza set meal, but sometimes I feel like having noodles, so I ordered this here. It's a bowl full of cilantro and spicy seasonings, with a base of chicken broth. However, the proportion of cilantro is quite high, so it may not be suitable for everyone. If I were to describe this bowl in one word, it would be a "Carnival of Fire and Forest." Thank you for the meal. In Iwamoto-cho, there is a simple Chinese & dumpling restaurant called "Original Chinese Wahe Gyoza". I ordered the Spicy Knife-Cut Noodles for 850 yen with an additional 4 pieces of Wahe Pan-Fried Gyoza for 290 yen. The dumplings are handmade and additive-free. They had a home-cooked taste, with each dumpling being large and filling. The knife-cut noodles had a slightly chewy texture and were not too hard. The spiciness was just right and easy to eat. The taste was not bad overall. However, the service level was quite low. The customer service and serving were sloppy, and the staff's conversations were loud and disruptive. While this is common in Chinese restaurants, it was excessive here. They only accept cash for lunch, and the restroom is also inconvenient. I wondered if there are people who would come back for more.

I went at 11 am on a regular day. I arrived right when they opened, so there were no customers. The Chinese staff were chatting in Chinese endlessly. My food came out in 7 minutes after ordering. A timer in the kitchen went off after 3 minutes to indicate that the knife-cut noodles were ready. I had high hopes for the knife-cut noodles as they are usually delicious when cooked quickly. The dish looked spicy, with a bright red color and a strong aroma of numbing and spicy flavors. I started with the soup, but it tasted a bit bland. The minced meat looked spicy, so I mixed it in, and the flavor improved slightly, but it was still lacking. The soup had a slightly sour taste, a hint of sesame sweetness, and the fragrance of cilantro, which was tasty but not outstanding. It had more of a sour taste than a spicy one, with a distinct smell of chili oil. The noodles were thick and chewy, which was delicious. There was a large piece of pork belly and an egg inside, so I was satisfied. However, the staff continued to talk loudly throughout, so I felt that headphones were necessary. Thank you for the meal.

There are many dishes with coriander in this restaurant! It's irresistible for those who like it, but beware if you're not a fan! Overall, the Chinese cuisine here is light and healthy. Personally, I like it. They have three types of dumplings: pan-fried, steamed, and boiled. The steamed dumplings were especially good. Surprisingly, the quail seasoning was delicious, and I ended up ordering it again!

It's about a 5-minute walk from Akihabara Station. There are plenty of lunch options around here, making it hard to choose. I decided on the drooling chicken set meal (800 yen tax included) at this place. It was super crowded during lunchtime, so there wasn't a calm atmosphere to eat in. When it came time to pay, the staff snatched the 1000 yen bill from me (laughs). Since they were Chinese, I'll let it slide. The taste of the drooling chicken was really delicious! However, the rice was disappointing - it lacked the fluffy texture you'd expect. Overall, the drooling chicken was good enough to pass! Thank you for the meal!

For those of you who work in this area, you may be familiar with this shop. I often come here by process of elimination, but this is my first review. I usually go for the basic Gyoza set lunch. However, this time, I ordered the "Five Ingredient Fried Rice (700 yen)" and the "Wahé Gyoza (290 yen)" which is limited to set meals and noodle dishes. First, the fried rice was served. The rice was not clumped together like in typical Chinese restaurants, but rather loose and separate. It looked like homemade fried rice. The cooking style seemed authentic Chinese, with a light and fluffy texture. The taste was not too strong, more on the salty and peppery side rather than using seasonings. It reminded me of the fried rice I made using a mix from a popular Chinese restaurant before. The portion was quite large, which was a downside. The gyoza with wings, which arrived later, had a generous amount of filling in each piece. However, like the fried rice, the seasoning was light, leaving me feeling unsatisfied. I usually enjoy this dish, but eating it with regular rice in a set meal made it even less satisfying. I managed to finish it by adding lots of chili oil and soy sauce. The service was typical Chinese style with shared seating. The interior was fairly clean but dimly lit, even during the day. The shop has a rating of 3.50 on Tabelog. Perhaps it's popular because it's cheap. It's one of those places where you know the food isn't that great, but you still find yourself coming back regularly for lunch.

Before the pandemic, this restaurant used to be bustling with customers during lunch and dinner. Even in these times, the number of customers has decreased, but there are still some customers during lunchtime. In this area, there are many Chinese restaurants, but in terms of taste and cost performance (especially at night), this restaurant may be the best in the area, and I occasionally visit it. The menu is also extensive. The recommended dish is the winged dumplings, but I always order the Tan Tan Men for lunch. When ordering, they always confirm if I'm okay with cilantro, and I always say yes. The Tan Tan Men here is a dish with what looks like a spicy soup, with Tan Tan noodles, plenty of vegetables (cabbage), minced meat, char siu, boiled egg, and cilantro as the main ingredients. The soup with spices tends to splash on clothes when eating, so a paper apron is a must (provided at the table). Cilantro's aroma helps to soften the spiciness of the soup. The soup has a moderate level of spiciness. Some people may find it a bit mild. The Tan Tan noodles may feel a bit watery, but they are soft noodles that go well with the soup, cilantro, vegetables, and minced meat, making it very delicious. The char siu is also tender and tasty. Despite the guilt of its appearance and high calorie content, the Tan Tan Men is a taste that I occasionally crave. Both men and women customers order the Tan Tan Men, and I often see them enjoying it. Additionally, the other lunch menu items and other dishes are satisfying in the taste of a typical Chinese restaurant. Thank you for the meal this time. I will definitely visit again.

Located about a 3-minute walk from Kanda Iwamotocho Station and a 5-minute walk from JR Kanda Station, Ando Gyoza is known for its delicious gyoza. However, they have been struggling during the third wave of the coronavirus. When I arrived at the restaurant after 6 PM, there were no customers. Despite this, the staff greeted me warmly. I started with a refreshing glass of draft beer. Then, I ordered their signature gyoza, boiled gyoza, scallion pancake, and more. The gyoza had a crispy exterior and a well-balanced flavor inside. It was delicious! It's surprising that such a popular restaurant had no customers. I hope they can overcome this difficult time!

It was a hot day, so I was craving something spicy and decided to visit this restaurant. Although the dumplings looked delicious, I stuck to my original plan and ordered the spicy knife-cut noodles. I was expecting a red, spicy dish, but it came out black. The strong aroma of Sichuan pepper and cilantro immediately stimulated my appetite. First, I checked the noodles. They had a unique flat shape like willow leaves and a delightfully chewy texture that was hard to describe but incredibly tasty. The broth was not just spicy, but also had a complex flavor from various spices, sesame, and cilantro that blended together perfectly. I quickly finished the dish and savored every bite. What a small happiness... I had never experienced such a delicious knife-cut noodle dish before, with its chewy texture and spicy flavors. Daoshaomien is truly amazing. I will definitely be coming back for more. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I heard that this place was quite popular, so I was worried there might be a long line. I arrived a bit late at 12:01, but there were already about 10 customers inside. Luckily, there was enough space so it was not a problem. I ordered the soupless tantan knife-cut noodles. When asked if I was okay with spicy, I requested it to be a bit spicier than normal as I love spicy food. Communication in Japanese was not an issue at all. I also ordered the specialty dish, Wago Yakigyoza (4 pieces for 290 yen, cannot be ordered separately). The tantan knife-cut noodles arrived soon and it was quite a surprise to see a generous portion. It was difficult to mix it without spilling because it was so full. The spiciness, although I asked for it to be spicier, was a bit milder than I expected (around 1.8 on the spiciness scale). The chewy texture of the knife-cut noodles, rich sauce, and the aroma of sesame and spices matched well and it was quite delicious. The Wago Yakigyoza, which arrived a bit late, had a chewy skin and was filled with juicy meat. It didn't have a strong garlic smell, so it was safe for lunch. They have various types of gyoza at night, so I thought it would be nice to have gyoza with beer next time. The knife-cut noodles at this restaurant may be quite filling even in a regular portion. This time, with the large portion and the optional Wago gyoza, I was super full. I felt like I ate a bit too much. In terms of infection prevention measures, they had hand sanitizer at the entrance, maintained distance between customers, staff wore masks, and tables were disinfected after each customer. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Located right near Iwamotocho Station, this Chinese restaurant is on the 2nd floor of a building and has a cozy local vibe. We ordered dishes like saliva chicken, Wagou dumplings, lamb skewers, and miso-wrapped duck. The saliva chicken was refreshing and slightly spicy, while the lamb had a nice spicy aroma. However, the standout dish was the Wagou dumplings, which were packed with ingredients like pickled vegetables and meat, with a chewy skin that was satisfying to bite into.

Visited on Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was like a casual dumpling place with table seating. Ordered the all-you-can-eat dumplings with 40 varieties. The dumplings were filled with plenty of ingredients and the variety was impressive. Particularly delicious were the green chili dumplings, three-seafood dumplings, and the fried rice we ordered as a closer was excellent! The only disappointment was the oyster dumplings, which had a lingering raw smell. Eating continuously for 2 hours for less than 4,000 yen with this quality was satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

The all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink options had a very good cost performance, and the dishes came out quickly after ordering, which was great. There were many different types of gyoza in the all-you-can-eat option, and I wanted to try them all but couldn't finish them all. The gyoza with shiso leaves, shiitake mushrooms, cilantro, and unique flavors were all delicious, and the noodles were also tasty. I would like to visit again.

I felt like eating gyoza, so I called ahead to my favorite place and they had availability on Friday night. It's an 8-minute walk from Kanda Station or just 1 minute from Iwamotocho Station. I was worried it might be far from Kanda Station, but when I got there, it was packed so I was glad I called ahead. I started with a beer. Then, I ordered the recommended dishes: Wagou gyoza and Sansen gyoza. The Wagou gyoza had a different flavor with a strong seasoning. It had pickled vegetables inside, giving it a nice crunch and flavor. The filling was generous and the skin was chewy, providing a satisfying bite. The Sansen gyoza, made with three types of seafood, was also delicious. When you bite into it, the juice bursts out, so be careful or take small bites! The tofu salad had a lot of tofu with a Japanese-style dressing. I also tried the water dumplings with bell peppers and celery, a unique combination that I wanted to try. The skin was chewy and slightly thick. The filling was mostly bell peppers, perfect for bell pepper lovers. It paired well with a highball. It was an affordable and delicious gyoza dish with plenty of vegetables. It seems that if you have three or more people, there's an all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink option available, which is great if you want to try a variety of gyoza flavors.

Returning from my trip to Europe, I have resumed my daily routine. I visited Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary during my trip. Only Austria was a country where restaurants were reviewed on Tabelog, so for a week I was free from writing reviews except for a few places in Austria. Although I continued to read reviews from fellow reviewers, not having the usual writing task made me feel strangely relaxed yet lonely. It's like a feeling of emptiness, maybe it's what they call "Tabelog syndrome". Upon returning, I decided to have lunch at a Chinese restaurant in Iwamotocho. The restaurant, called Wahougyouza, is a chain with a few branches in the area. The restaurant is located on the second floor of a building and is not very noticeable from the outside. The interior was dimly lit, and the lack of signage made it hard to find. Despite these initial impressions, the restaurant offered a variety of noodle dishes and set meals. I ordered the soup-less tantanmen noodles with a side of gyoza. The noodles were served with a generous amount of toppings and tasted delicious. Overall, it was a satisfying meal after returning from my trip.

The dumplings were juicy and delicious! I recommend the pan-fried dumplings with squid in them. The lamb skewers are also tasty, but they can be salty, so it's best to ask for less salt when ordering. The skewers have plenty of meat and are very satisfying. The portion sizes of the dishes are also generous.
