Near Asakusa Station (TX), my stomach was growling, haha. I was in the mood for some meat on this day. It's the end of the month and I didn't want to spend too much money. So, tonkatsu it is! The Ueno-Asakusa area is known for its high-quality tonkatsu. No matter where you eat, it seems like there are no bad options. We were seated at a table for two. Surprisingly, even after the lunch rush, the place was almost full. I had to give up on the Mont Blanc I was eyeing due to the long line. Asakusa, bustling after the Manbou event, seems to be facing a lunch crisis (sweat). The pork cutlet cost 1,950 yen. Quite pricey, but these days there are places where it's over 4,000 yen. Let's wait in silence. It arrived after a while. The breading wasn't as crispy as they claim. The meat was seasoned with salt (not rock salt) and sauce. There was an excessive amount of mustard, haha. I doubt anyone would ask for a refill (laughs). Eating it with salt emphasized the sweetness of the meat. They really used good quality meat. The cabbage was finely shredded. There was no dressing, so I used tonkatsu sauce instead. I ordered a large portion of rice, but the bowl was small and I felt a bit uneasy. However, in the end, I was full, satisfied, and my wallet was satisfied too, haha. Instead of the usual miso soup, they served a refined soup with Mitsuba. Truly a tonkatsu restaurant! It was elegant. I finished without feeling too heavy. Now, to avoid getting sleepy in the afternoon, I need some coffee, haha. And with that, thank you. It was delicious.
