Recently, the neighboring "Akami to Hormon Nonki" is becoming more famous, but the original Hormon Yaki Nonki is extremely user-friendly. There are private rooms in the back, and the interior is spacious so even groups of ten or more can have a party. The staff are all lively and energetic. The signature dish, Shiro, is consistently delicious, and the potato salad and simmered dishes are classic favorites at a Hormon Yaki restaurant, so you can feel at ease. You can casually drop in alone and enjoy a drink at the counter, making it a great spot for impromptu gatherings or post-work drinks near Yotsuya-Sanchome. It's perfect for various party needs.

It's been a while since I visited during the day. I started with a bottle of beer to quench my thirst, and ordered several skewers. The prices are affordable, so you can easily order a lot. From the second drink, highballs are 100 yen and lemon sours are 200 yen. This is awesome. After adding a few more skewers, we ate a lot and drank, and it came out to a little over 5000 yen for two people. I now understand why it's always crowded.

On Friday, around 7:30 pm, I entered the restaurant. The place was almost full, with about 10 counter seats and 30-40 table seats. The pate was finely textured with a rich flavor and delicious. The stewed giblets were incredibly tender with a strong umami taste, very delicious. The tongue sashimi had a good texture and paired well with garlic soy sauce, very tasty. The white sauce skewers were very tender and juicy, extremely delicious. The negima (green onion and skirt steak skewers) had a strong umami flavor and tasty sauce. The liver mousse was quite sweet.

After finishing work on a regular day, I visited a restaurant without a reservation, but the place was full of reserved customers even though it wasn't Friday. The restaurant is located between Yotsuya-Sanchome Station and Akebonobashi Station, near Araki-cho, and it's easy to spot with a sign that says "の" in front of it. The menu advertised motsu-yaki (tripe skewers), but it mainly served yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). The drink selection was typical of an izakaya. The yakitori, being the specialty of the restaurant, had a wider variety of options compared to a regular yakitori izakaya, and the prices were reasonable for the Shinjuku area.

I had been to the Akabane branch many times, but I had to go to Yotsuya this time. I arrived a little before 5 o'clock and was told that they had many reservations, so I could only stay until 6:30. I decided to sit at the counter. The staff's service was good, which was a nice change from the disappointing service I have experienced at many restaurants recently. I enjoyed the motsu-ni dish, and the white sauce was delicious, just like at the Akabane branch.

I visited the restaurant while drunk, so I don't remember the details well. But the alcohol, like "Kabosu" sour, was very delicious, so I drank a lot and even ordered more. The cabbage appetizer can be seasoned with miso or ponzu, which is nice. This place seems to be famous for its motsu (offal), but I regret forgetting to order it.

Whenever I go there, I always feel energized and lively. The speed of service is unbelievably fast. The yakitori is delicious, but personally, I love the broccoli namul and potato salad. The potato salad here is different from the one at Nonki Izakaya, with a generous amount of minced meat on top. The liver steak was also delicious and tender. However, I found the white liver mousse a bit too strong in smell. Maybe it's just me? I would like to try the rillette next time. Overall, I was satisfied once again. It's a great restaurant for casual dining, and anyone you bring along is likely to enjoy it.

I made a reservation and visited at 5:00 pm on a holiday. This is a famous store at the Horikiri Ayame-en! I found out it's a branch of Nonki, so I have high expectations. Cheers with a draft beer. The appetizer is raw cabbage. The main menu is of course grilled skewers! I thought the simmered giblets were cheap, but the amount was ridiculously small! I had to order another one! The taste is rich and creamy! The low-temperature cooked liver yukhoe and tongue sashimi are thick and moist, with a rich flavor. The liver yukhoe is excellent with a smooth egg yolk! When it comes to skewers, the white one is a must! The outside is crispy and elastic, while the inside is tender and juicy, and the sauce is delicious! The toro hatsu was not much different from the usual hatsu I eat, but the kashira and upper harami were exquisite. Overall, the food was delicious and satisfying, but the service was a bit lacking. I would like to write more details, but I will refrain as it may be put on hold by the Foodlog side.

I tried to casually enter Atabou Sushi but couldn't, so I ended up coming here on Sunday at 6pm. It's a popular place, so I just made it in time. The prices are good and the food is delicious, with great customer service. I can see why it's so popular. It feels like a place worth making a reservation for, but I would definitely come back even if I just casually drop by.

I visited this restaurant alone because I wanted to have a drink. The popular place only had outdoor seating available, which was actually convenient for me as I prefer it over a crowded indoor atmosphere. It was early summer, so there were some bugs to deal with, but I enjoyed drinking in the open air. I recommend trying the raw tongue dish. It came with a choice of garlic or non-garlic salt sesame oil sauce, and the texture was great. The other skewers were also delicious and safe choices. I would like to visit this place again when I want to have a quick drink in Araki-cho. Thank you for the meal!

I have visited Akabane Nonki many times, but this Nonki is my first visit. This time, I chose the course menu with all-you-can-drink option. The skewers were delicious, and the stewed offal and low-temperature cooked liver were also very tasty. We were able to extend our time by 30 minutes with a coupon. The restaurant was always busy. I went to "Motsuyaki Nonki" with my husband in June 2023. It is located a 2-minute walk from Araiyakushi-Mae Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line. Today, we bought a subway free pass and went on a tour of shrines and temples together. Along the way, we saw the Suga Shrine Grand Festival in Yotsuya, where we watched the mikoshi procession. Suga Shrine is famous for the staircase that served as a model in the anime movie "Your Name." I decided to visit Nonki based on a review by Akiton that I follow. The lively and casual atmosphere of the restaurant was great. We tried various skewers, but the highly recommended dish was the specialty Shirotare for 220 yen. The sweet and rich sauce was absolutely delicious. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly. My husband was also pleased, and we had a great weekend. Thank you for the wonderful meal. I would love to visit other Nonki locations in the future.

I would like to detail the entire experience I had at the restaurant, but I will refrain from doing so here as it would violate the terms of service. The restaurant has been famous for a long time and always seems to be crowded, indicating its popularity. It has high ratings on websites like Tabelog and Google, but there are also some harsh comments, mostly regarding customer service and speed of service. In terms of speed of service, I did not have any issues. However, the customer service was the worst I have ever experienced. The people I went with had been regular customers for over 10 years (though they had been away during the pandemic) and they commented on how things had changed. The signature grilled skewers are cheap and good in my opinion. If the customer service were better, I believe the food would taste even better and the overall dining experience would be more enjoyable. I am not expecting high-end restaurant-level service. Customers do not typically interact with all the staff members at the restaurant. There are only a few part-time staff members in charge of the dining area. Therefore, the impression of these staff members greatly affects the overall impression of the restaurant. I do not recommend this place and I will not be returning.

I have been a fan of this restaurant for a while now. Their specialty, the shirotare, is amazing (no fishy smell, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and goes perfectly with the sweet sauce). The dishes were delicious as always, but it seems like the restaurant's policy or the manager has changed because the service has turned into a loud, cheerleading-like style. Some of the staff members have very loud voices, which was quite bothersome. While enthusiastic service is good, having such loud voices constantly can be unsettling for diners. We felt uncomfortable and decided to leave early that day. A lively atmosphere is great, and customers having fun is always nice, but having staff members shouting so loudly is questionable. I believe that customer comfort is essential in service. I used to love this restaurant, but if all the branches become like this, it would be a shame. I hope they can improve and return to the energetic yet pleasant service they used to provide.

Today, I went cherry blossom viewing in Tokyo. I visited Sumida River, Ueno Park, Chidorigafuchi, Yasukuni Shrine, and the outer moat before ending up in Yotsuya. I remembered there used to be a place called "Motsuyaki Nonki" in Yotsuya 3-chome, so I decided to make that my final stop. I started with a draft beer, which came with cabbage as a complimentary dish. I wonder if I can get a refill. I ordered the tongue sashimi and my favorite liver skewers. The tongue sashimi seemed to be cooked at a low temperature, almost like it was raw. The rare liver skewers were incredibly delicious. I was already satisfied with just these dishes. I also tried the "Nonki Ball Large" and the famous white sauce. The Nonki Ball was a bit thin, but the white sauce was tasty and didn't have any unpleasant smell. I got a refill of the Nonki Ball Large and also tried the tongue base and Negima skewers. I wanted to try the pig's head as well, but it was sold out. I had a quick meal and a drink for just over 3000 yen. It's quite affordable. The staff were very friendly. I will definitely come back when I crave liver again.

This is a popular restaurant that is always crowded. I recommend checking the availability of seats by calling ahead before going! A must-try for liver lovers is the liver steak. It is topped with plenty of green onions and tastes best when eaten with sesame oil. I always end up getting seconds because it's so delicious. The white sauce is also addictive, so be sure to order it. I think it's a restaurant with good value for money and great taste.
