Shutoku 2nd branch is said to have 100 seats, so we visited! The main branch is on the 1st floor and the 2nd branch is on the 2nd floor. We were a bit confused and ended up at the main branch. We visited on a Saturday without a reservation around 12:30, and only had to wait for 5 minutes - lucky us! We ordered the cheapest course for 4,500 yen. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service from the staff was excellent. The course included flounder, striped jack, steamed shrimp, scallop, lean tuna, squid, medium fatty tuna, horse mackerel, and egg to start. Then came sea urchin and conger eel. Finally, we had hand-rolled sushi and a soup. All the sushi was seasoned perfectly, with the striped jack being a standout for its crunchy texture and fatty flavor. The lean tuna had a rich taste, while the squid had a nice balance of salt and citrus. The egg had a great dashi flavor and seasoning. The conger eel was sweet and tender, no need to chew. The sea urchin was incredibly rich and delicious with a touch of salt. The hand-rolled sushi was filled with plenty of salmon roe, squid, and tuna, with crispy seaweed. Overall, we were very satisfied with the sushi course, it was great value for money! Can't wait to try the 2nd branch next time.

Second visit. The main street of Tsukiji is crowded with foreign tourists and every place has long lines. This street, a bit off the beaten path, is calm. The shops are relaxed and comforting. Today, I splurged on the ultimate lunch course for 8,500 yen, added fresh oysters, and after finishing, ordered striped jack, horse mackerel, and needlefish. Always grateful for the meticulous work.

I visited the Tsukiji Outer Market and tried the lunch course at Hidetoku Main Store, as well as the bara chirashi for takeout. The lunch course was priced at 4500 yen and the bara chirashi at 2500 yen. It was quite affordable and we were able to enjoy authentic Edomae sushi. The rice and toppings were slightly small in size. The outer market was bustling with many foreign tourists, resembling a festival atmosphere. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I felt like having sushi for lunch, so I took a stroll around Tsukiji. Recently, Tsukiji has been getting more lively, with lots of people around. Sushidai had a long line, and I wondered if Tsukiji Sushitokami Honten would be crowded too. I decided to take a chance and peeked inside, and they said they would call me in about 20 minutes when a table was available. There was a festival going on at Hanazono Shrine, so I decided to wander around while waiting. I've been to Tsukiji Sushitokami a few times before, but this was my first time having lunch at the main store. They offer a selection course and a premium course (the photo shows the selection course). I planned to order the selection course and exchange some items for the premium course, but everything looked so delicious that I ended up just going with the selection course. Recently, I've had a lot of sushi from Tohoku and Hokkaido due to trips and business travels (freshness is key! Big pieces of fish!), so it had been a while since I had delicate Tokyo sushi. It was a truly happy holiday to be able to enjoy such well-crafted sushi for a casual lunch. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I visited the main store this time after previously visiting the second store. The lunch course included the following: Isaki (grunt) with iwashi (sardine) and maguro (tuna) akami (red meat), yuzu (citrus) flavored aji (horse mackerel) hotate (scallop), yuzu, lemon, salt kohada (gizzard shad) toro (fatty tuna) bafun uni (sea urchin), salt-grilled anago (sea eel) rolled sushi, and miso soup.

I couldn't get into my usual sushi restaurant, Sushidaibetsukan, as there was a long line at 2pm, so I decided to explore around Tsukiji Outer Market. I stumbled upon this place and it turned out to be a good choice. Trying out new restaurants can be hit or miss, but it's necessary for some excitement. I ordered the carefully selected nigiri set for 4,500 yen, which came with 10 pieces, a roll, and a soup. Each piece was meticulously prepared and delicious. I'm usually not a fan of red vinegar rice, but the balance here was just right. Despite many restaurants being closed on Wednesdays, this place was open. It had a quiet atmosphere during that time, allowing me to leisurely enjoy my meal. I will definitely come back. However, it was interesting to see that even though many restaurants were closed on Wednesdays, there were still plenty of foreign tourists wandering around.

I visited the restaurant Hidetoku in Tsukiji. I chose the main branch, Kei. The vinegar rice in the sushi was not too strong, making it very easy to eat and blend well with the toppings. They also have a variety of non-sushi menu items, which made me enjoy my drinks even more.

After a long time off on a weekday, I met up with my wife who also had the day off after my appointment. We sat at the counter and my wife, who doesn't drink much, started with a non-alcoholic drink while I had a Dortmunder to wet my throat. Cheers! We were served pickled ginger and a ball on a decorative plate. The ball was a lightly grilled adult version with a subtle sweetness. We started with sushi! The sea bream was quite meaty, different from the smaller ones, with a satisfying texture and freshness. The kohada was delicious even though it's still early in the season. The wild striped jack had a transparent taste unlike farmed ones, with a unique texture that was enjoyable. The individual order of simmered octopus was firm to bite into and tasted great with Western mustard, making me want to add some shochu! The Pacific bluefin tuna was a dreamy whole-body fatty fish that melted in my mouth instantly, a highlight of the day. The grilled conger eel was easy to chew with no fishy smell. The lean tuna had a light marinade, allowing the tuna's flavor to shine through. The fatty tuna, while not the best in terms of fat content, was still delicious. The golden eye snapper was a seasonal delight, with tasty skin. Uni was as delicious as always. The simmered conger eel had a great balance of melting texture and firmness. The hand-rolled salmon roe and stripped fish was as tasty as it looked. I added steamed shrimp, which would have been perfect if it was a bit larger, with a sweet taste and enjoyable texture. We finished with a refined miso soup made with leftover broth, which was a perfect ending to a meal filled with small but flavorful sushi. Thank you for the meal.

It was delicious! At 4,500 yen, the cost performance is reasonable! Ishigaki sea bream, bluefin tuna akami, red clam, squid simmered in its own liver, scallop, fatty tuna - all were outstanding! It's delicious. Isaki, buffoon sea urchin - no unpleasant smell and very tasty! Anago - overall, the quality for 4,500 yen is great in terms of cost performance! Thank you for the meal.

After work, we had a "thank you for your hard work" gathering at Hidenori, a sushi restaurant near Tsukiji Market. We always rely on their expertise and craftsmanship, which never fails to impress us. The sushi, made with red vinegar rice, is truly exceptional.

I wanted to eat sushi made by a skilled craftsman. As shown in the photo, it has a beautiful appearance. As for the taste, the rice is firm but the red vinegar lacks depth in flavor and acidity. The toppings such as the red clam, sea urchin, and conger eel are delicious. The last roll had a strong nori aroma and was also tasty. The lunch price makes it feel like a good deal. I feel like visiting more delicious sushi restaurants like this one.

For lunch on this day, I went to Tsukiji Outer Market. It was quite crowded, probably because it was Sunday and the year-end was approaching. I walked leisurely from Monzeki Street, and the street just before Namiyoke Street was quiet with few people. I have visited "Sushi Tomi" and "Tsukiji Sushi" on this street before, so this time I stopped by "Shutoku Main Store Megumi". There was a menu board with photos in front of the store. For lunch, they offered "Carefully Selected Lunch Course (4500 yen)", "Special Lunch Course (6500 yen)", and "Superb Lunch Course (8500 yen)". The prices seemed a bit high. As I entered the store, there were 4 customers at the counter seats. I was guided to a seat in the back corner by the staff. A hot towel was brought, and I was asked for a drink, so I ordered tea. There were two chefs at the counter. I asked the chef in charge for the "Carefully Selected Course". He asked about any dislikes, and then started serving one piece at a time with a good pace. The flavors were already added to the sushi when served. The meal started with pickled ginger and tamagoyaki. Then came nodoguro, katsuo (with Japanese mustard), kohada, kurumaebi, bafun uni, kamasu aburi (with salt and lemon), toro (a bit sinewy), shiroika (with yuzu pepper), anago (with sansho salt), and a soup (with daikon, nori, etc.). Finally, a hand roll was served to finish the meal. The rice was small and vinegared with red vinegar. The sushi was neatly made, but in a way, it didn't feel like a typical sushi restaurant in the market. The background music was playing, and the lighting was dim, creating a calm atmosphere that might be suitable for a date. The tea was refilled rather than replaced, but it was topped up frequently. The chef was quite proactive in trying to engage in conversation. (Visit rating: 3.42)

There are several affiliated stores in Tsukiji where you can enjoy authentic sushi with good cost performance. I highly recommend this place as I have been to their affiliated stores multiple times. The kazunoko (herring roe) is also delicious and I recommend trying it a la carte! It's the best! The alcohol also goes well with the food, haha.

On Wednesdays, Tsukiji Market is closed, so I headed to this restaurant that I had on my list of places to try. I chose the middle omakase course, where the chef explained each piece of sushi and prepared it right in front of me. It was a luxurious experience to have the sushi made with various condiments that complemented each topping. The red vinegar sushi rice was delicious. Due to the state of emergency, they weren't serving alcohol, but I also ordered edamame and corn tempura. The chef mentioned that the sushi menu changes with the seasons, so I should come back to try different fresh ingredients each time. I had a wonderful and happy time there. Thank you for the delicious meal.

In case of emergency, since the original restaurant was closed, I went to Hidetoku where you can enjoy various dishes for 4500 yen. The hirame from Aomori, along with karasumi, was amazing. The texture and umami were outstanding, probably due to being marinated in kombu or aged for 1-2 days. The sea bream from Awaji, seasoned with salt and yuzu, was full of flavor, the best from the Seto Inland Sea. Thank you. The white squid from Maizuru, paired with sudachi peel, was tender and sweet, absolutely delicious. Katsuobushi from Katsuura, served with yuzu pepper, was a perfect match. The scallops, slightly seared, maintained their freshness. The marinated tuna was a safe choice. The menuki and choushi fish, seasoned with Maldon salt, had a unique texture and rich taste. The buttery uni was the best I've ever had, with a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. The simmered conger eel melted in my mouth, delicate and refined in flavor. It didn't have any fishy smell, truly the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture. Lastly, we ended with hand-rolled sushi filled with various fish, like bara sushi. It was so delicious! It's a shame I couldn't drink alcohol. I also ordered the grilled conger eel nigiri, which was slightly different from what I had at the original restaurant. Too bad. The chef seemed a bit distracted halfway through because some preferred customers arrived. The rice was elegant. It may have seemed like a small portion, but I felt a mix of happiness and satisfaction. It was delicious, but I think the original restaurant had some more impressive dishes. Today's highlights were the simmered conger eel and the buttery uni.

♡Weekend lunch visit♡ The interior of the restaurant is not particularly moody, but it exudes a sense of luxury within Tsukiji. The calm atmosphere at the counter is quite pleasant. ♡The ¥4,500 course includes 9 pieces of sushi, tamago, hand-rolled ikura, and soup♡ The sushi is made with red vinegar-seasoned rice, which I prefer to be on the smaller side! ♡Interestingly, the meal starts with a plate of tamago. The egg was okay, but I personally prefer it sweeter, almost like a dessert! ♡The fatty tuna was incredibly melt-in-your-mouth, delicious♡ The eel was also very soft and fluffy, which was great♡ The sea urchin was a bit underwhelming, with a slightly fishy taste. ♡When it comes to good value sushi lunches, I still think Marunouchi's Sandaime Aozora is the best choice! But overall, the meal was delicious!

A sushi restaurant located in the sushi street of Tsukiji. There are several sister stores around. This is a counter-centered store with good quality sushi that doesn't rotate. Each piece of sushi that comes out is quite good. The rice and fish have flavor, so you don't need soy sauce. The fish is cut nicely and easy to eat. It's not cheap, but it's sushi that makes you want to go back again.

The best cost performance is at the original sushi restaurant. The ingredients and rice are the same as the original. The quality is almost the same, and you can often get a seat even when it's crowded because of the larger capacity. However, even at the same price range, the original restaurant offers a higher quality of ingredients. For example, they include salmon roe, blackthroat seaperch, bluefin tuna, and scallops in the middle course, while this restaurant only includes them in the highest course. This restaurant may be more suitable for those who want to enjoy a leisurely meal rather than focusing on cost performance. The head chef is friendly and will answer your questions without making you feel uncomfortable.

I used it for lunch with a business partner. On this day, many shops were closed due to the holiday, but this one was open. We were seated at the spacious counter in a wooden Japanese-style interior. Around 1 pm on a weekday, there were about 3-4 groups of customers. We ordered the Ozaki Beef Premium Course lunch (8,500 yen including tax). The meal included: Tamagoyaki, Kinmedai, Akami, Shime-saba, Katsuo, Chutoro, Madai, Sawara, Ozaki Beef, Uni and Ikura, Anago hand roll, Owan, and 2 glasses of draft beer. As everything was served in 30 minutes, we had to eat quickly. Despite being the most expensive lunch option, the quality matched the price. The red vinegar rice was slightly less, but the toppings compensated for it. The sushi was soft and needed to be eaten quickly to prevent it from falling apart. The seared Ozaki Beef paired beautifully with the uni. The Madai was refreshing with salt. Overall, the freshness was excellent, the Akami was tender, and the white fish had a good texture. After finishing the course and two beers in 30 minutes, that's where my review ends. This sushi restaurant outside Tsukiji Market is perfect for enjoying sushi in a calm environment, suitable for business meals, dates, or entertaining guests. The staff, in addition to the sushi chefs, provided efficient service. This branch is part of a group of 5-6 sushi restaurants in Tsukiji, known for serving fresh Edo-style sushi. With the addition of Ozaki Beef sushi, it offers a mix of traditional and innovative styles.

I took a friend who loves sushi to a recommended restaurant for lunch. We ordered the lunch course, which ranges from ¥4,500. It included 10 pieces of sushi, a hand roll, and a soup. I asked for no wasabi and no eel in my order. The sushi was delicious as always, it was a blissful time! The 10 pieces of sushi included flounder, cutlassfish, bonito, squid, medium fatty tuna, sardine, marinated tuna, sea urchin (from Rishiri), white shrimp (from Toyama), and grunt (substitute for eel). We also ordered 2 more pieces each: ark shell (¥1,000), scallop (¥500), small skin (¥500), and golden eye snapper (seared) (¥1,200). My friend also had a glass of sake for ¥1,100. Even though 10 pieces were not enough, ordering more can add up in cost. But since it was delicious, it was worth it. At night, for ¥7,700, you get sashimi, appetizers, and other dishes, which is very satisfying. As a foodie, I think the night option has better value for money!

I visited "Hideoku Honten Kei," located about a 5-minute walk from Tsukiji Market Station. It is one of the many restaurants operated by "Hideoku" in the Tsukiji area, and relatively new as it opened in April 2018. (There is also a "Hideoku 2nd Store" of the same series nearby) The restaurant has table and counter seats, and the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. The dishes I tried this time were as follows: - Mackerel - Ark Shell - Awaji Island Horse Mackerel - Boiled Clam - Tokyo Bay Sand Borer - Fatty Tuna - Olive Flounder - Kitamura Purple Sea Urchin - Tsushima Conger Eel - Seafood Roll The sushi rice was seasoned with red vinegar, slightly firm, and compact. It was served with salt or soy sauce, or could be eaten as is. The ingredients sourced from Toyosu were fresh and had a good bounce to them, making it clear that they were fresh. Considering the quality of the dishes and the price, I felt that the cost performance was good.
