While walking in Urahara, I happened to come across a fried bread stand! They were selling from a food truck. I rarely have the chance to eat fried bread, since the last time was probably back in elementary school, so I felt nostalgic and ended up buying some. The prices were reasonable and they fried them up fresh after I ordered, so they were piping hot! The Harajuku Special was sold out!

I knew this place has been here for a while, but it was my first time buying something. I had been really curious about it. I have never had fried bread before, especially in my childhood, so it's not a nostalgic food for me, but I actually like it. It was getting dark when I tried it, and no one was around, so I gave it a shot! I thought it would be big, but it was crispy and easy to eat. Maybe it's because they use coconut oil.

The matcha fried bread is crispy on the outside and fluffy and slightly oily on the inside. It's small in size, so it's not heavy and perfect for a light snack when you're feeling a bit hungry. There are other flavors available too, so if you're nearby, give it a try! It reminds me of the nostalgic school lunches.笑笑

I love ageman (deep-fried breaded food) and have been eyeing this ageman specialty shop for a while. Among the various options, I decided to order the plain one since I mainly focus on ageman. It was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, delivering the classic deliciousness. It was served piping hot as it was freshly fried. Personally, I wish the bread was a bit bigger in size, but the taste is undeniably good. If you are a fan of ageman, I recommend giving it a try.

Located in Harajuku Cat Street, this cute wagon-style shop fries each order one by one, so you can enjoy them piping hot and fluffy! They use coconut oil, so it's not heavy, and you can easily have a second one. Perfect for when you're in the mood for fried bread. It's a wagon-style shop, so be aware that they may not open on rainy days. Highly recommended! ✨

This is "COCO-agepan," a deep-fried bread shop in Harajuku Cat Street. I saw it on the morning news program. I tried the "Harajuku Special," which is deep-fried bread topped with whipped cream, sugar, and coconut powder. It was really delicious. I love coconut, and I think that deep-frying the bread in high-quality coconut oil is really good for you. The coconut flavor is irresistible.

It was very delicious. The staff were also very kind and attentive! I think there are not many places where you can eat deep-fried bread, so this restaurant is very valuable. I want to go again!

I was feeling thirsty and thinking of going to Gong Cha or Chatime, but I felt lazy to wait in line. So, I decided to go to Cocoa Gepan, a small and cute shop nearby where one staff member manages everything with a small wagon. Their main item is fried bread, but I bought a Caramel Milk Tea (370 yen). My friend got a Ginger Ale with tapioca pearls. The caramel was in a clear cup, which looked cute. The tapioca pearls were chewy and delicious. Usually, I get tired of milk tea before finishing it, but the milk tea at Cocoa Gepan was delicious until the end! The fried bread also looked delicious, so I would like to go there again next time.

There is a small shop called "coco agepan" on Cat Street in Harajuku. They use 100% coconut oil for frying, so it's very healthy. They fry the food after you order, so you can enjoy it fresh and crispy. I had the kinako flavor and my eldest daughter had cinnamon. They have a variety of flavors to choose from. I also want to try the agepan with whipped cream next time. It's great for a quick bite while taking a stroll. I highly recommend it!

Fried bread (plain) \200
On the way back from finishing up errands at Meiji Shrine, I happened to come across a street vendor-style shop on Cat Street. Feeling a bit hungry, I was drawn to the sign advertising fried bread, so I decided to stop by. Cocoa Agepan is a street vendor-style fried bread shop that also sells mini donuts (4 pieces). The menu consists solely of fried bread, with a variety of flavors including plain, coconut, soybean flour, cocoa, and more. In addition to various flavored tapioca drinks, they also offer ginger ale, Coca-Cola, fresh juice, and more. Since it was my first visit, I decided to keep it simple and ordered the plain fried bread. After placing my order and a short wait, the sugar-coated fried bread arrived. Since the shop doesn't have seating for dining in, the purchased items are for takeout only. I had planned on eating while walking around, so I didn't order a drink to avoid having my hands full. If I were to sit somewhere and eat, I would have definitely ordered a tapioca drink as well. The fried bread was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and it was delicious. The fact that it was served hot was a plus. It was a stylish fried bread shop nestled in a quiet neighborhood. Next time, I might try a different flavored fried bread.
