Lunchtime at a restaurant on the 6th-7th floor of a building, first time here and it was quite empty due to the pandemic... I wasn't in the mood for Western food, but I didn't want to just have soba and leave quickly either. I wanted to have some Japanese food, enjoy some tea, and relax, but there weren't many options available. I was a bit worried about what to do until I found this place. It was amazing! When I entered, they mentioned a 2-hour time limit, but since it wasn't full, I ended up staying for almost 3 hours without any issues. They had options for 3 dishes for 1749 yen or 5 dishes for 2189 yen, and you could upgrade to chicken and burdock rice for an additional 300 yen. Rice refills were free. For the main dish, you could choose from meat, fish, or fried items. I chose fish. Since it's a tea shop, they served delicious tea, and you could have up to 3 cups with the set, but I ended up having around 5 cups with the additional hot water they provided. The restaurant had windows and a terrace outside, so while it wasn't for enjoying the view, it was bright and had an open atmosphere which was nice. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

The meal made me feel like I absorbed a lot of nutrients, and it made me appreciate Japanese cuisine even more! I also ordered a Mont Blanc set ☺️ When it arrived, I was surprised by the unexpected size‼️ Inside, there was matcha ice cream on top of chiffon cake.

I had hittsumabushi ochazuke. The rice in the ochazuke was cooked softer than usual and I didn't like the mushy texture. They only gave me chopsticks, which made it difficult to eat, so I had to ask for a spoon. I couldn't decide on my order for about 10 minutes, and I was asked twice if I was ready, which made me feel uncomfortable. Despite going to a high-end restaurant for lunch, my mood was ruined so I didn't order dessert and just left.

The taste is delicious, and it's great that you can make reservations online. The location is also convenient, right in front of Shibuya Station. However, paying 800 yen for a lot of tea, and 2200 yen for shaved ice with just some fruit on top seems a bit much. The taste doesn't match up to a 5-star hotel. But if you really need to meet up in Shibuya on a weekend when other cafes are crowded, this place could be a good option.

My favorite live show was in Shibuya. I invited an old friend to lunch since I was visiting Tokyo after 5 years, and she found this place for us. In the end, 7 of us made a reservation for the "Kaiseki lunch set with 3 small dishes and a parfait." I actually don't like tea at all. But since my friend went through the trouble of finding a suitable place for us, I couldn't refuse. I ended up choosing the main small dishes. However, I don't like spicy food, and the chicken was seasoned with yuzu pepper, the mackerel with mentaiko, and the conger eel with miso. We all wanted to try the conger eel, but it was sold out. The photo shows tempura of corn and edamame, the mackerel with mentaiko, and okra and octopus with yuzu pepper. I chose the hojicha parfait, hoping it would be easy to eat. Along with the meal, a pot of green tea (this time it was stem tea) was served. I could drink about 3 cups by adding hot water little by little. It was said to be sweet and delicious. The ambiance, food, and dessert made it a sophisticated lunch. It was delicious. However, it's a bit inconvenient when there's no escape route in gatherings like this. As my daughter says, "You're an adult, so eat without being picky." Yes, thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant with a reservation for 11:00 on Sunday. The seating was quick, but I had to wait about 40 minutes for my order to be served due to the large number of customers. Additionally, the water and wet towel were brought to me when I was halfway through my meal, which I found lacking in terms of service. The ochazuke itself was delicious, but I felt that it was not worth the price.

I ordered three side dishes at the restaurant. I have a small appetite, so I'm not very reliable when it comes to portion sizes, haha. The side dishes were a normal amount, but I felt like there was a bit too much rice. Towards the end, it became difficult to finish, and I regretted not asking for a smaller portion. Each side dish was well-prepared and looked beautiful. Rice came with green tea, and we could brew it ourselves, which was enjoyable. The shop is famous for its tea, so it was nice to be able to enjoy tea even during a meal. I look forward to trying their soft-serve ice cream or chilled zenzai next time!

This is the restaurant area in Shibuya Tokyu Plaza. Among the well-known restaurants, there is a Kyoto-style cafe with a common name that caught my eye with its attractive photos and signs. I couldn't resist peeking in and ended up thinking, "I want to try the matcha soft serve!" Later on, I found out that it's not a restaurant from the genius Matsumura DD Group! From yakitori to matcha... it's perfect. Honestly, I don't know of any restaurants from DD that are so amazingly delicious (sorry), but this place is amazing! Although I entered wanting to eat matcha soft serve, I ended up ordering the "Matcha and Kyoto-style chilled zenzai with wheat gluten" (laughs) because the photo looked so delicious. It was the right choice. It was delicious!! I finished it in no time. I thought, "I have to come back here soon!" Not too sweet, and the Kyoto tea that came with it was a nice touch for refreshing your palate. A moment where I'm grateful to be Japanese! I wonder if it was the amazing taste because it was during the hot summer, but I'll visit again when it cools down a bit. Well, I'll probably end up going back during the hot season before that... It's a bit awkward for a 50-year-old man to go alone... I recommend going with a female companion (laughs). Thank you for the meal.

Hidden gem cafe in Shibuya, Kyoto Uji - Fujii Myoen offers an Afternoon Tea Set with the option to add Uji Matcha and chilled Kyoto-style wheat gluten Zenzai. The Afternoon Tea Set allows you to choose two types of Uji tea per person and they also provide tips on how to brew it perfectly. They generously offer hot water refills as well. The top tier features a menu slightly different from what was listed on the reservation site, including a rich matcha sauce-topped panna cotta, matcha terrine, and more, all incredibly delicious and satisfying. The middle tier allows you to create your own strawberry daifuku with options like chestnut, sakura bean paste, cream, strawberry, and kiwi. And on the bottom tier, there's an amazing eel and wheat gluten rice cake, both chewy and delicious. ✿ Menu ✿ Top Tier: Matcha Indulgence Plate, Matcha Mini Parfait, Matcha Roll Cake, Homemade Matcha Scones, Mini Anmitsu Middle Tier: Wrapped Enjoyment Daifuku Plate, Mochi, Strawberry, Chestnut, Kiwi, Whipped Cream, Sweet Bean Paste, Matcha Bean Paste Bottom Tier: Tea Enjoyment Light Snack Plate, Inari Sushi, Eel Nigiri, Wheat Gluten Rice Cake, 3 Types of Pickles [Price] Afternoon Tea ¥4,000 Uji Matcha and Kyoto Wheat Gluten Zenzai ¥1,650 [Phone] 03-5422-3923 [Address] Fujii Myoen, Kyoto Uji / Tokyu Plaza Shibuya 6F, 1-2-3 Dogenzaka, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo #FujiiMyoen #TokyuPlazaShibuya #afternoontea #ShibuyaCafe #TokyoCafe #ShibuyaGourmet #TokyoAfternoonTea #Matcha #MatchaSweets #AfternoonTea #HighTea #애프터눈티 #Matcha #instafood

I had some errands at Tokyu Plaza and couldn't decide where to have lunch, so I ended up here. I had the 5 side dishes set for 2100 yen, which came with Uji tea, miso soup, and rice. Each side dish was carefully made and tasted good, but nothing stood out as particularly special. The tea, however, was really delicious.

This is a shop that also offers soba and kaiseki cuisine, but this time I made a reservation for 15:00 because I wanted to try their sweets. There may have been a few people waiting in line (?) as there were a few people scattered around the shop, so it is recommended to make a reservation if you want to enter smoothly. I ordered the pairing "Sencha tasting set" (tax included 2200 yen). The set includes three types of matcha terrine, warabi mochi, pudding, and three rounds of sencha, with strawberries as the fruit for palate cleansing that day. The terrine I had for the first round was a firm yet smooth-textured cake, with a strong matcha flavor that paired well with the sencha. If you want to enjoy the richness of matcha, I recommend choosing the terrine. The warabi mochi I had for the second round was coated with matcha and kinako powder, with a subtle sweetness that allowed the natural sweetness of the warabi mochi to come through, making it the least sweet of the three. The pudding I had for the third round was a soft and creamy milk-based pudding, meant to be enjoyed with the matcha sauce on top. The matcha sauce was mildly sweet, allowing you to savor the mild flavor. I was happy to see my favorite fruit, strawberries, included for palate cleansing. The strawberries were refreshingly tart, and the cores were carefully removed. The location is right in front of the west exit of Shibuya Station, so it's convenient to reach within a few minutes from the station without having to walk in the hot sun. I am curious about the parfait menu, so I will visit again.

I went to this restaurant in Shibuya with my friends because I wanted to have dinner and eat matcha soft serve. We arrived around 6:30 pm on Monday night and were seated right away. We ordered the following: - Tea kaiseki meal with 5 items. For one of the main dishes, I chose the one with mackerel and mentaiko. - Rich Uji matcha soft serve The dishes were all heavily seasoned with a lot of saltiness. The matcha soft serve was delicious.

I brought my overseas friend to this cafe. I wasn't expecting much from the food, but it was surprisingly delicious. The portion size was just right. We had the option of choosing hojicha or matcha for the Japanese parfait, and we chose matcha. The parfait was also very tasty, but even though the cafe had a 90-minute time limit, our parfait was brought out with less than 15 minutes left. I was worried we would be rushed out, and sure enough, we were asked to leave 5 minutes before our time was up. Even though not everyone had finished their parfaits, we felt pressured to leave because it seemed like we couldn't stay any longer. Most of the other tables were empty, so I thought maybe they had reservations for the next customers, but if that's the case, I wish they had let us finish our dessert. I wanted to give this place a good rating, but this experience really left a negative impression. If there's a time limit, I hope the cafe can manage it better, even if it's busy.

When you order sweets at the matcha specialty store in Fukurasu, you get Uji tea. I chose matcha genmai this time. It was sweet and smooth, and it felt like it had been a while since I had such delicious Japanese tea. It's worth coming to this store just to drink this tea. The matcha soft serve is not a mix, so I found it a bit bitter as I kept eating and ended up leaving some. Next time, I'll try a different dessert. Around this time last year, I crossed Uji Bridge, looked at the Murasaki Shikibu statue, thought about watching next year's historical drama, enjoyed the beautiful Byodo-in Temple, its garden, and museum, and spent a moment thinking about the lush greenery of Uji. I want to go back to Uji, Nara, Kyoto.

I always use it for lunch. The obanzai made with seasonal ingredients is very delicious, colorful, and I can't finish it because it's so much. On this day, I had lunch with my father, and the menu included eel hitsumabushi, conger eel with miso vinegar, corn and edamame tempura, chicken karaage, salmon sashimi, matcha tofu, etc. The price is 3500 yen, which is relatively high for lunch, but I am satisfied with this volume and quality! It's also great for a company reward lunch.

I received a pairing. [Atmosphere] The shop was a bit lively, but since it was mostly women, I didn't feel uncomfortable. Since it is a tea-focused shop, I honestly wished for something that would make me feel more Japanese. [Food] The terrine had a taste where the bitterness of matcha was overpowered by the sweetness of the cream, emphasizing the sweetness. The warabi mochi had a taste where the bitterness of matcha overpowered the sweetness of the warabi mochi, emphasizing the bitterness. The pudding had a perfect balance where the bitterness of matcha and the sweetness of the pudding (more on the mild side) did not overpower each other, complementing each other and emphasizing the deliciousness. The tea provided a sense of tranquility with its moderate bitterness and sweetness. It was a cup that left a pleasant aftertaste, perfect for refreshing your palate or taking a hot break. Overall, it was a menu that harmonized sweetness, bitterness, sweetness and bitterness, and reset with tea, with a well-balanced flavor.

I reserved a table here with a friend and my daughter, so they prepared a table at the back for us, which was comfortable. We had the course menu for 3,500 yen with a dessert (matcha terrine). The meal included a variety of small dishes like grilled fish, fried food, and rolled omelette, which was a lot of food and difficult to finish even though it all tasted delicious! Since it was Japanese cuisine, it was easy to share with my daughter. She especially enjoyed the rolled omelette, as she could try different types and was satisfied with the variety. I would like to see more vegetables on the menu, and it would be nice if the staff were more approachable (they seemed busy and we didn't have a chance to call them over).

A matcha specialty store located about a 5-minute walk from Shibuya Station. I ordered a matcha Mont Blanc dessert. It was delicious with a subtle sweetness. When eaten with the cream inside, the sweetness was balanced nicely. I also enjoyed the tea. I had sencha. They recommended letting the hot water sit for a while to experience different flavors. It was a good experience.

After finishing lunch, I had some tea. The dessert was too heavy, so I had some roasted green tea with warabi mochi, which was just the right amount of sweetness. The waitress recommended the Kaneganone tea (hot), and it was delicious.

The night before, I received a phone call saying that our reservation for afternoon tea had to be served on plates instead of a tower due to its popularity. I was worried as we had made the reservation well in advance, but when we arrived, we were served a birthday plate, which was a pleasant surprise. However, the last-minute change had made me anxious until we got there. The people at the next table were also celebrating a birthday, but they got the tower, which made me wonder why the treatment was different for the two birthday groups. The food was delicious though.

As a tea lover, I was impressed by the rich and aromatic freshly brewed tea, truly worthy of Uji tea. The food complemented the tea perfectly, each dish was delicious, and the pairing with tea was excellent. The variety of desserts at the end was delightful, each one rich and elegant in flavor. This is the perfect restaurant for a ladies' lunch. I will definitely visit again.
