The lunch is 500 yen cheaper than dinner. The tail soup had a gentle flavor, and the meat was tender. I enjoyed it with barley rice topped with just the right amount of grated yam. Soy sauce was not needed. The instructions on how to eat beef tongue were helpful. I paired it with wasabi and miso pickles from Yamagata. It went perfectly with the grated yam rice.

I felt like eating beef tongue so I came to this restaurant. Besides grilled beef tongue, there are various other beef tongue dishes to choose from, making it hard to decide what to eat. In the end, I ordered boiled tongue, Tochio fried tongue, and the large beef tongue set meal. With a variety of menu options, it seems like I'll enjoy trying different dishes.

I visited the restaurant at 12:00 on Saturday without knowing it was popular. It was full and there were about 4 people waiting in front of me. I was seated after about 10 minutes, and despite the chic atmosphere, there were many young women. The lunch set was delicious with tender meat, soup with beef tongue, and grated yam, all for less than 2000 yen. The cost performance was excellent. Most of all, the recommended way to eat with pickled beef tongue was amazing.

I visited this restaurant after going to a Hokkaido product exhibition at Keio Shinjuku store. We decided to stop by for a bite and a drink on the way back, as my husband had been curious about this place. We arrived without a reservation on a holiday around 5 pm, and luckily they could accommodate us until 6:30 pm. It seemed that all slots were booked after 6:30 pm, so I recommend making a reservation before visiting. This restaurant is a sibling of "Gyutan Yaki Specialty Shop Tsukasa" in Sendai Kokubuncho, with a rating of 3.58 on Tabelog as of September 10th. We ordered the Gyutan Yaki (large portion) for 2350 yen, Gyutan Aburi with Ponzu for 1500 yen, and Gyunen Negibaka Stir-Fry for 750 yen. The Gyutan Yaki exceeded our expectations, with perfect grilling, tender texture, strong umami flavor, and we finished the large portion in no time. The Gyutan Aburi with Ponzu was also delicious, with plenty of daikon radish and condiments, and the thinly sliced Gyutan was tender and refreshing. What surprised us was the Yamazaki Highball priced at only 680 yen! We've been to many places, but finding Yamazaki Highball for 680 yen was rare, making it a great deal for Yamazaki whisky lovers. My husband, a Yamazaki fan, was delighted by this. The White Oak Highball was also 680 yen. The restaurant also offers Kakuhai for 550 yen, making it a great value. The Gyutan was delicious, the overall cost performance was good, and being able to enjoy Yamazaki Highball for 680 yen was a bonus. I would love to visit this restaurant again. Just a note, the restaurant is located underground with no elevator, so be mindful of the stairs. It was a delightful experience! Thank you for the delicious meal!

The beef tongue set meal (large) is 2,850 yen. Even after considering the high price, the beef tongue was incredibly delicious. While the restaurant may recommend other dishes, I can confidently say that the set meal (large) is the best choice, even for dinner. The beef tongue is thick, perfectly cooked, and well-seasoned. The grated yam and tail soup are also well-balanced.

I went for lunch and had the thick tongue set meal. The tongue was thick but tender with a good chewy texture, very delicious. It came with barley rice and grated yam. You can have free refills of rice and it's so easy to eat that you can't help but get more. The oxtail soup was also refreshing and tasty. It costs 1600 yen for lunch, but it's worth it for the delicious meal.

Thickly sliced beef tongue with free refills of barley rice. The soup also contains tender beef tongue, making it a hidden gem. Great value for money. The pickles are delicious, and grated yam is also included. The interior of the restaurant is not spacious, but the tables are calm and not too close to each other.

Met at Shinjuku Nishiguchi and discussed on the spot. Didn't have a reservation, but luckily there were seats available. I usually go to Negishi for beef tongue when I want to eat in Shinjuku, but I felt like the quality and price have become a bit high, so I went to this place nearby. It's on the B2 floor near Yodobashi and Yamada. Started with draft beer and highball cheers (^^) Ordered beef tongue set, spicy beef tongue, beef tongue and leek stir-fry. Added more draft beer, regular beef tongue, and barley rice! The beef tongue is thick, and I like the cooking and light salt taste! Delicious \(^^)/ The downside is that the stairs are dark and deep, and there is a slight smell, which is a shame...

We visited suddenly at 9:00 PM with 2 people. It was the day before a holiday, but luckily they had availability when we called. Despite being near Shinjuku Station, it wasn't crowded and we could have a relaxing conversation while enjoying our meal. The price was around 2,000 yen. I would like to come back again when I want to quickly eat delicious beef tongue.

I recently went to a restaurant with a new friend and we ordered the large size beef tongue. It was just the right amount for the two of us. It seemed like many people around us were ordering the beef tongue set meal individually, but I didn't want to eat a lot of rice as I am on a diet, so I chose to order it separately. The beef tongue stew was also delicious. It was a bit more expensive compared to Negishi, but the beef tongue was thick and satisfying.

It's a beef tongue set meal. During lunchtime, the only option seems to be the beef tongue set meal. The price difference is based on the number of beef tongue slices. I ordered the "large" size. The beef tongue was tender and perfectly seasoned with salt. You can have unlimited refills of barley rice. There were some lumps in the rice, but it was acceptable. The grated yam came already seasoned, so no need for extra soy sauce. The soup had a rich flavor from the tail and was delicious. It's great value for the price, and I would definitely visit again.

I visited Gyutan Ara in the Shinjuku Station West Exit area after making a reservation in advance. The restaurant is located on the underground second floor, so you need to go quite deep into the building, where there are also B2 and B1 floors. Since the restaurant specializes in gyutan (beef tongue), I ordered various gyutan dishes such as gyutan yaki (grilled beef tongue), gyutan aburi ponzu (seared beef tongue with ponzu sauce), and gyutan negibaka itame (stir-fried beef tongue with leeks). The classic gyutan yaki was thick but tender, and I enjoyed it with the appetizers of pickles, pickled vegetables, nanban miso, and wasabi. The gyutan aburi ponzu was refreshing with daikon radish and green onions, and I devoured it quickly. The gyutan negibaka itame had a flavor similar to liver and leeks, with the beef tongue being tender and the leeks plentiful. It was a delightful experience to indulge in gyutan after a long time. Thank you for the meal!

I tried to eat heartily at a specialty store for beef tongue, but my companion didn't eat much and couldn't try various types. We were seated in the upper tatami area of the restaurant, but it was a bit cramped to stretch our legs, so I preferred regular seating. The two-hour time limit on Fridays in Shinjuku was strictly enforced.

I visited around 20:00☺︎ on a weekend, and was able to enter smoothly without a reservation. The beef tongue was soft and easy to eat, and quite delicious! The octopus dish was average, but all the beef tongue dishes were delicious, so it was good. The speed of service was also reasonably fast, so it was easy to eat quickly!

There is a great value lunch at a beef tongue restaurant near Yodobashi in Shinjuku! The 1760 yen beef tongue set meal is delicious. It comes with 7 thick slices of tongue! You can have unlimited rice refills. There is also grated yam and beef tail soup included. First, take a bite of the tongue, it's crispy on the outside and incredibly tender and flavorful. Spread the remaining tongue over the rice and add the side pickles, it's heavenly. Once you've eaten half, pour the grated yam over it. Why do they serve yam with beef tongue, I wonder? It's not too crowded during lunchtime, so it's a great place to have some delicious meat and power through the afternoon. Thank you for the meal!

I went down a dizzying spiral staircase to the basement where the restaurant is located. I ordered the "special set meal" which came with a generous amount of food. You can also have unlimited servings of barley rice. In terms of taste, I personally prefer the flavors at Rikyu. The meat was thick and delicious, especially when eaten with wasabi. If you were to order the same meal at Rikyu, it would probably cost a bit more. It's nice to try a different beef tongue restaurant once in a while! The lunch deals are quite affordable, so I would like to visit again sometime. Just a heads up, they do not accept cashless payments like PayPay, only cash or credit card.

After finishing swimming in Sendagaya and burning a lot of calories, I felt like eating meat and ended up going to a restaurant in Shinjuku for some beef tongue. The quality of the restaurant was top-notch. It reminded me of the authentic beef tongue I had in Sendai in the past. The miso, grated yam, and barley rice were all just like the ones back in the original place. If you're looking for beef tongue, this is the place to go. I'm also curious about their dinner menu.

When I first tried Sendai beef tongue during a long business trip to Sendai when I was young, I was really surprised. It was a bit thinner than the current trend, but had a good texture and the more you chewed, the more you could taste the matured deliciousness. It's been 30 years since then. Today, I had a large serving of set meal at a recommended restaurant by a friend. The beef tongue here is very tender and delicious, more like the current trend. The cuts are done carefully and everything is well put together. And the oxtail soup is probably one of the best I've had at a beef tongue restaurant in Tokyo. It's a great restaurant.

■ Restaurant Information
Beef tongue is a favorite food for people of all ages. I wanted to eat delicious tongue in Shinjuku's west exit! So I visited "Gyutan ARA" where they offer lunch as well, which is more affordable than dinner. Today, I ordered the Gyutan (beef tongue) set meal in large size.
■ What I Ate
- Gyutan Set Meal (Large) ¥2400
It arrived in about 15 minutes. It was quite a generous portion. The beef tongue was tender and had a rich meaty flavor, very delicious. It had no unpleasant smell and was cooked just right. The rice had a perfect texture, and the tail soup was well-seasoned. Although ¥2400 is not cheap, considering the current market price of beef tongue, I was satisfied with both the quality and quantity. If you love beef tongue, definitely give it a try!

This is a restaurant near Yodobashi Camera Shinjuku Nishiguchi Honten that specializes in grilled beef tongue. Their concept is to bring the authentic taste of Sendai to Tokyo, offering tender, aged beef tongue. The interior has a nostalgic atmosphere with a warm wooden feel. I was seated at the counter where I could watch the skilled chef grilling the beef tongue over charcoal. I ordered the Grilled Beef Tongue Set which includes grilled beef tongue, pickles, rice, grated yam, and oxtail soup for 2365 yen. The beef tongue was juicy and full of flavor, each bite spreading deliciousness in my mouth. I enjoyed it with rice and tried different combinations, but the best was with wasabi and pickles! It really enhanced the flavor of the tongue. I finished my meal in 15 minutes, it was that good. I will definitely stop by again when I'm in the area!
