Oysters, a fascinating food that makes you want to eat more even if you get sick from it. I've always been scared of raw oysters, even though I've never gotten sick from them. I finally mustered up the courage to try them at the age of 22. Then I came across the words "truly safe oysters." They are purified with deep-sea water, making them safer and tastier to enjoy. Safe and delicious raw oysters are what everyone wishes for, so let's go try it out! Located just a 1-minute walk from Ueno Station, on the 3rd floor of Sakura Terrace, is "Oyster Table Ueno Sakura Terrace." On weekends around 12:30, there are customers waiting outside, so making a reservation seems like a good idea. The interior has a few counter seats and table seats, with a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. This time, I ordered the "Oyster Fry 3P Set (¥1,100)" and "Raw Oysters 6P (¥1,560)." The set comes with multigrain rice and oyster soup. The oyster fry had a crispy texture and the plump oysters were packed with flavor. The raw oysters were from different regions: Gaki Taisho from Murotsu, Hyogo Prefecture, Misaki from Rikuzentakata, Iwate Prefecture, and Ryosen from Shirakata, Kagawa Prefecture. All of them were incredibly delicious! Once you take a bite, the rich and creamy taste of the oysters overflows in your mouth. The faint scent of the sea adds a freshness to the experience. It was a truly blissful time spent enjoying these oysters. Writing about it makes me crave them again. That's the charm of oysters... truly irresistible. I will definitely be back. I made a reservation for Friday at 7:00 PM and went. It was a Japanese course with all-you-can-drink. The dishes are served individually, so you don't have to share, which was nice! It's interesting that the oysters are seasoned in various ways! Please note that the restroom is on a different floor from the restaurant.

I made a reservation and visited on Wednesday at 1:00 PM. Ueno was crowded, and the restaurant was full! The 30 pieces of oysters that I ordered in advance were luxurious! All 30 varieties have different flavors, and they are all delicious!! I thought it was 15 varieties for two people, so I also ordered some other dishes, and ended up with a full stomach (^^;) I forgot to take pictures, but the smoked herring and sake lees pizza was excellent! I'm actually not a big fan of sake lees, but the flavor was not overpowering, and it was very tasty, making for a great snack! The size was small, making it easy to eat! It was great to have some drinks in the afternoon too (many people around were also drinking!) Although I couldn't order more this time due to being full, the pasta and risotto looked delicious, so I look forward to coming back with an empty stomach!! Thank you for the meal!

On a holiday morning around 11 o'clock, I tried to have eel for the midsummer day of the Ox, but it was packed and I had to give up. It's not a good idea to try to have a typical Japanese day on a whim. I decided to have oysters, even though they are not in season. Maybe I was craving minerals? Luckily, it was early enough that I could get a table without waiting. The light course lunch for 1,980 yen was a good deal, with main dishes as well as raw and grilled oysters and a salad. The oysters were not very juicy, but the milky ones were pleasantly creamy. I ended up quite full, and overall, the lunch had good value for money. The location is great, right in front of the station.

This place is great with QR ordering, right? Surprisingly, there are quite a few solo diners. It seems that rock oysters are in season. Oyster cocktails are half price! What's the difference between rock oysters and regular oysters again? I ordered a live rock oyster. It's huge! I probably haven't had rock oysters before. Compared to regular oysters, it doesn't have the creamy texture and you can really taste the oyster. It seems to be in season in the summer. The oyster cocktail with roast beef, green onion salt white meat, and sour cream makes the oysters taste like a different dish. The pasta with oysters and clams is like a spicy garlic oil pasta. I drank quite a bit and forgot about it, haha. Eating live oysters makes you feel happy.

I went to the Taiwan festival at Ueno Park and had lunch here. I had a hearty pair course meal, both at the festival and here. I enjoyed two types of oysters from different regions, one oyster cocktail, two grilled dishes, and even oyster fry. It was a delicious feast for oyster lovers. Highly recommended.

I really wanted to eat oysters, so I made a reservation. It was a little after 5 p.m. on Sunday. The street was crowded with tourists, but surprisingly, the restaurant was not very busy inside. At the end of last month, I thought I had finished the season's oysters, but ended up having my first oysters of the new year. This restaurant serves oysters in various cooking styles, not just raw. I went on a Saturday afternoon and it was almost full when I realized. The lunch menu was extensive and I had a hard time deciding. Sets come with soup and rice or bread. The oysters ranged from raw to grilled, pasta, risotto, etc. The taste was good and I finished everything. The kitchen staff worked efficiently and seemed very busy without a break, but the level of customer service was incredibly low. The order took forever to arrive and even when pointed out, there was no apology. It was one of the lowest levels of service I've seen in recent years, so I have to give a negative rating for that. The food was delicious.

I made a reservation for the standard course of an all-you-can-eat oyster buffet that I regularly attend. The time limit is 90 minutes with the last order being at 60 minutes. The price is 4999 yen excluding tax. First, all types of oyster dishes were delivered and we ordered them. There were two types of raw oysters, one from Hokkaido and one from Yamaguchi, so we could compare the taste. I was able to eat my favorite oysters without worrying about the price, so I was very satisfied. The oysters used in the fried oysters were large and delicious. By the way, my colleagues who visited with me that day and the next day were in good health! Since the company is engaged in oyster farming, we can eat with peace of mind.

After a long time in Tokyo, I was thinking about what to eat and came up with the idea of going to an "Oyster Bar". When I searched nearby, I found a place called "Oyster Table Ueno Sakura Terrace" so I decided to go. The restaurant was crowded but I was able to get a seat quickly. Due to COVID-19 measures, we had to order from our smartphones. I ended up ordering more than usual. I got a plate of fresh oysters at half price, with 3 each from Hiroshima and Hyogo prefectures. I enjoyed them with lemon and ponzu sauce. The oysters weren't that big but they still tasted good. I also had fried oysters, garlic-grilled oysters, baked oysters, and oyster carpaccio, enjoying a variety of oyster dishes. However, I realized that oysters alone couldn't fill me up completely. Next time, I want to try an oyster hut for all-you-can-eat oysters. Thank you for the meal.

The 4389 yen all-you-can-eat option has 3 types: Simple includes raw oysters, grilled oysters, and soup for 90 minutes. Standard includes plus uni-yaki, garlic yaki, wine-steamed, and oyster fry for 90 minutes. Premium includes 3 more grilled items and cocktails (various toppings on raw oysters) for 120 minutes. I think the Standard option was just right. All varieties were served for the first time, and then you could order more. Surprisingly, even though I went alone, I received servings for 2 people, but it was not a problem. Grilling takes away the flavor of the oysters, so in the end, I mostly enjoyed the raw, grilled, and wine-steamed oysters. The oyster fry was heavy, and only 2 types of raw oysters were served. It was enjoyable to taste the differences in flavors. The grilled oysters were plump and the broth was delicious. The wine-steamed oysters had a strong garlic flavor, and the broth was also delicious. I mainly enjoyed the broth. I ate a total of 54 oysters. After eating, I felt a unique sense of fullness, as my stomach was filled with oysters. I used it for a late lunch, and I didn't feel hungry until bedtime that day. The all-you-can-eat event is held in late October and November every month. If they continue this schedule, I might use it again. I made a reservation around the 9th, and it was quite booked. It seems that they limit it to 5 people per day. The Standard option seems sufficient, but I would like to try the cocktail options at least once. However, 90 minutes seems to be enough.

Fresh oysters are the best for sure, it's fun to compare different types. We also added garlic butter oysters, which were recommended with bread. It was definitely a good choice! Lastly, we tried the sea urchin spaghetti, which was okay, maybe my expectations were too high. Overall, I should have stuck with oysters until the end, haha.

Oyster bar located in Sakura Terrace right next to Ueno Station. Visited for lunch on a weekday. Lunch menu ranges from ¥1000. All items except one are oyster dishes. Oyster pasta for ¥1000, oyster fry for ¥1000, oyster gratin for ¥1200, oyster salad plate for ¥1200, etc. Lunch comes with oyster soup, salad, and bread or rice, with drinks costing an additional ¥200. Chose the salad plate lunch for ¥1200. Also added a grapefruit juice for ¥200. The colorful and Instagram-worthy presentation caught my eye, but... the overall experience was a bit disappointing. The plate included salad, oysters, pickled carrots and dates, beans, boiled egg, avocado, bacon, and mixed grain rice. While the bacon had some flavor, the rest was seasoned with dressing, mayonnaise, and vinegar, making it difficult to pair with rice. I thought it would have been better with bread instead. Despite the visually appealing presentation, the taste was quite ordinary. The oysters I was looking forward to lacked flavor, which was disappointing. The price of ¥1200 for this plate felt a bit overpriced. The restaurant has high ratings on Tabelog, so perhaps ordering more authentic dishes like fresh oysters would have given a different impression. However, for a plate that tasted average but was priced on the higher side, the cost performance was not great.

Before going to the Ueno Museum with my mother, we stopped by for lunch. It had been a while since I last had fresh oysters! Since my mother eats very little, we decided to share an oyster course for two. It was convenient that the course could be shared between two people. The course included 2 fresh oysters, oyster salad, oyster soup, grilled oysters, 1 piece of fried oyster, and oyster pasta of the day. We also added an extra fresh oyster and fried oyster. The staff kindly gave us oyster soup as a service for two people. They also offered a free fresh oyster through an app registration. The fresh oysters were delicious as always, especially with lemon. The fried oysters were crispy and tasty! The pasta of the day was tomato-based. The staff was friendly and welcoming. It seems like a great place to visit before going to museums or art galleries.
