On this day, I took a walk around Aoyama and Akasaka area. It's not too far from my house, about a 15-minute walk. I had recently visited the graves of Mori Ogai and Osamu Dazai at Zenrinji Temple in Mitaka, and then I wondered where Osamu Dazai's mentor, Soseki Natsume, was buried. After some research, I found out that his grave is located at Jyohoji Temple in Kita-Aoyama, not far from my house, so I decided to visit it first. The temple is not very big, but there is a cemetery in the back, and right behind the temple, I found the grave. I offered a prayer for a while. After that, I was planning to have beef bowl at Yoshinoya in Aoyama 1-chome, so I walked along Aoyama Street. However, when I reached the intersection near Meiji Jingu Gaien Avenue, I saw a sign for this restaurant on the right side, so I changed my mind and decided to try their pasta. I crossed the street and entered this underground restaurant. It's a small place with a few tables and a small counter. Luckily, I was able to get in without waiting, but there were a few groups of customers waiting later. It's a pasta specialty restaurant, and they use chewy noodles made from fresh wheat. I don't know how fresh wheat affects the taste of the dish, as I usually eat dried noodles at home. There are many varieties of pasta, including some with a Japanese twist that might make Italians raise their eyebrows, but that's okay. There were so many options, so I hesitated a bit, but I decided to try the "Bacon, Sausage, and Vegetable" pasta with soy sauce base, which is a bit unusual. I ordered a large portion and quietly waited while sipping on a glass of beer. When it arrived after a short wait, the sausage stood out, but the bacon was not so prominent. There were many green bell peppers, giving a vibrant green color. In addition, there were a few slices of enoki mushrooms, some other unidentified mushrooms, and tomatoes, but not a lot of vegetables overall. The soy sauce flavor was subtle, but the extremely chewy texture was a unique experience for me. I initially thought a little pepper would be nice, but as I ate, that thought faded away. It had a light taste, but as I ate the noodles, it gradually became more complex, like a body blow that hits you later. Perhaps due to the location, the price was also on the higher side. Nevertheless, with so many variations available, there is a sense of enjoyment in deciding what to try next. It turned out to be surprisingly good.
