Visited with colleagues. The fresh squid was delicious! The live squid sashimi was 3980 yen for 2. Due to supply issues, it was a combination of one live squid and one aged squid, but it turned out to be the right choice! The slightly dried aged squid had an explosion of flavor. The live squid was also very sweet. It was a nice contrast to taste them both. We also ordered the deluxe sashimi platter, which was quite generous. It included various items like minced fish with miso and seared squid with ponzu sauce, offering a wide variety. It was also nice to have a piece of rolled omelette on top. The highball selection was great, with options like "Hakushu," "Yamazaki," and "Hibiki." The "Hakushu" was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I visited here because I was craving seafood. As soon as I entered the restaurant, there was a fish tank which created an exciting atmosphere. However, on that day, some items were not available. I was a bit confused about what to order, but they had a variety of squid dishes besides sashimi. There were also many other fish dishes to choose from, so no need to worry. Personally, I recommend getting the large size beer or sour drink. It's nice, right? I would love to go back again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

At night, I went to the squid center to eat fresh squid. I made a reservation and visited. As soon as I arrived, I saw squid swimming in a large tank. Today's special was fresh squid. I ordered fresh squid, steamed clams with sake, fried squid, and spicy miso cucumbers. I also had a large highball drink. The spicy miso cucumbers were crispy and well chilled. The spicy miso was delicious. The steamed clams with sake had a flavorful broth. The seasoning was just right. The fried squid was also delicious. It had a crispy texture with tartar sauce. It was fried perfectly and tasted great! And then there was the fresh squid. Before cooking, the chef showed it to us. First, the tentacles. They were sweet and incredibly tasty. And then the sashimi. When eaten with liver soy sauce, the rich umami flavor spread throughout the mouth. It was chewy, sweet, and amazing! The squid shumai was the only dish that was a bit underwhelming. But overall, every other dish was well-prepared and very good. I would love to come back again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I tried to have my nephews catch squid, but we couldn't due to a curtain malfunction. However, the staff let them touch the squid and showed them how to prepare it. In the end, they gave us chocolates. Even though the nephews didn't catch anything, they had a great time! The food was delicious and we were satisfied.

I have always been interested in the Ikasen Center from its name!!! It was a great restaurant that makes me want to go back again.
[Atmosphere]
I made a reservation through Tabelog and visited on a weekday night. I had imagined a spacious single-story restaurant with a wide entrance, inspired by the image of the squid tank, but the actual restaurant was relatively compact on the 4th floor of a mixed-use building. The building itself had an old feel, and there was a slightly unpleasant smell near the seats close to the restroom (I have a very sensitive nose and it bothered me more than usual people), so I asked to change seats. *The restroom itself was clean! Since there is a tank, the entire restaurant has a seafood-like smell, but if you like seafood, it should be fine!
[Cuisine]
Both the squid dishes and non-squid dishes, as well as the beer that I don't usually drink, were all delicious!!! Due to the influence of a typhoon, they couldn't procure fresh squid on the day of my reservation, so they called me to inform me about it around noon. There was only one squid in the tank at the restaurant, but usually there are about 40 swimming. Even though there was no fresh squid, there were still squid dishes available.
- Squid ring fry 6 pieces 990 yen
- Squid tempura 6 pieces 940 yen *There is also a portion of 10 pieces!
- Sashimi ultimate assortment 2180 yen
- Chikuwa isobeage (deep-fried chikuwa) 620 yen
- Sushi medium fatty tuna 400 yen (1 piece)
- Sushi scallop 320 yen (1 piece)
We ordered these dishes for three people, had 3-4 drinks each, and it came to about 5000 yen per person. I was impressed by the black sesame tofu as the appetizer. Also, I was captivated by the design of the Ikasen Center beer jug! The visually stunning famous squid ring with plenty of tartar sauce exceeded my expectations. The sashimi and sushi were delicious, fresh, and had no unpleasant odor!
[Impressions]
The building was a bit old, but the staff were friendly, the food was delicious, and overall it was a very appealing restaurant! I would love to visit again when there are plenty of squids swimming around!

We celebrated a family member's birthday at a restaurant in Shinjuku, as per their request. The restaurant we chose was Ikasen Shinjuku Main Store located on the 5th floor of a building, with table seating on the 4th floor. The space was surprisingly spacious for Shinjuku, allowing us to relax and enjoy our meal. We opted for the 8,000 yen course which included a squid banquet course with all-you-can-drink. We each ordered our favorite drinks and made a toast to the birthday celebrant. I started with a bottle of beer which was ice cold and had a great hop bitterness.
The seasonal appetizer consisted of fried burdock and fried yam, both crispy and delicious. The assorted sashimi platter included horse mackerel namero, egg omelette, sea bream, kanbachi, tuna, octopus, and grated daikon with shiso leaves, all fresh and reminiscent of a boat platter from a traditional inn in Toyama. The grilled yellowtail with sweet soy sauce had a nice texture and made me crave for rice.
The live squid sashimi was brought to our table alive from the tank, and it was a large specimen with a fascinating texture and flavor. The simmered red snapper with carrots and burdock was a standout dish with tender and flavorful meat. The squid tempura and squid ring fry were served with tartar sauce and were a delight to eat. The vegetable and delicacy platter, as well as the pressed sushi and fish head soup, were all delicious.
The all-you-can-drink system was generous with no last order time, allowing us to enjoy our drinks without feeling rushed. We had about 4 drinks each, with the corn tea being a favorite among us. Overall, the meal was a feast of exquisite dishes that left the whole family satisfied. It was a wonderful birthday celebration, and I highly recommend this place for fresh seafood in Shinjuku. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The assorted sashimi platter was delicious. However, the squid sashimi that the restaurant boasts about was surprisingly expensive, so I couldn't try it. I'll be better prepared next time I visit. I settled for the calamari rings, which were delicious with tartar sauce.

I went with two friends from college to this restaurant and we chose the 7,000 yen course with all-you-can-drink for about 2 hours (I don't remember the exact time). The photo shows part of the menu. The sashimi that came out early on was really voluminous and delicious. Overall, we left feeling full. Just be careful not to drink too much. If you get carried away with drinking, it can be tough towards the end... I felt that enjoying delicious food while savoring a little alcohol was really nice. For my next visit, I want to focus more on enjoying the food rather than drinking. I want to leave the restaurant feeling satisfied and content. The food was truly delicious, and the atmosphere was open and lively, making it a great place to enjoy food while having fun. I definitely want to go back. Next time, I want to make sure I can leave feeling content.

I visited Ikasen Center Shinjuku Main Store, a familiar drinking spot in Shinjuku for a party. I usually go to the Shibuya store, but it closed down. The main store is always busy, even on weekdays, and we ordered a course meal. Each dish was excellent - sashimi, simmered dishes, fried foods, everything was perfect. I will definitely visit again!

I went to Ikasenta the other day, and as the name suggests, there were a lot of squid dishes, making me very happy (lol). It's a space that squid lovers will absolutely adore. Starting from the first picture: ① Appetizer + marinated firefly squid ② Squid ring fry ③ Chef's choice sushi set (one serving) ④ ⑤ Squid sashimi and sliced squid! Everything was really delicious, and it was the first time I ate squid until I was satisfied (lol). Be careful not to order too much when you ask for the chef's choice sushi set as it can be overwhelming, and the amount of squid sashimi was quite large ❤️ I definitely want to go back again.

It's been about half a year since my last visit!! The main dish is squid, and they used to bring it in a bucket and show it before making sashimi out of it. The way they plate the squid sashimi was different this time, and I was disappointed because there was no explanation given. It made me feel dissatisfied.

We used a girls' night out at this restaurant. On the 4th floor, there is a live squid tank, and on the 5th floor, we enjoyed a course with all-you-can-drink for 7000 yen in an atmospheric setting. The edamame appetizer was delicious! The sashimi platter included golden eye snapper and seasonal fish, as well as raw fish with grated radish and horse mackerel sashimi, a luxurious dish. They showed us a live squid from the tank, and we couldn't help but take a picture. The tentacles were so fresh and had a great texture, with a sweet and savory taste that we enjoyed with salt, ginger, and wasabi. The miso-grilled dish, skipjack tuna sashimi, mackerel pressed sushi, and fish head soup were all worth the 7000 yen just for the meal. The all-you-can-drink included a variety of options like sake and shochu, making it a great value course. We enjoyed the delicious food. Thank you for the meal!

Ikasen Shinjuku Main Store/Shinjuku Ikasen is famous for its fresh sashimi! They show you a big squid before preparing it, building up anticipation. The child was looking forward to fishing, but when they couldn't catch anything, they wanted to go home quickly. However, the staff showed them a squid spitting ink before being prepared, which cheered them up. They were also given a huge amount of bone crackers to take home. The staff were all very kind, and by the time they left, the child had completely warmed up to them, saying "I'll come back again." Even though they couldn't fish, they were very satisfied with their experience.

I wanted to eat delicious squid... I went there a few years ago, and after a long time, I went back to Ikasennter. The atmosphere was different from before, and I was able to enjoy it in a different way! First, I got the live squid sashimi, and the tentacles came first! The tentacles were delicious and fresh, so fresh that they stuck to the suction cups!!! You can tell the freshness of the squid just by looking at it. Also, personally, the fried horse mackerel was amazing. I will definitely go back when I feel like eating squid again!

I ordered an 8000 yen course meal and went with about 13 people. The portions were too large and we couldn't finish it, so a whole portion of simmered kinmedai was left over. The staff kindly offered to pack it for us to take home. The food was delicious and overall great, but I regret not being able to finish it. I wish they could lower the price of the course a bit and reduce the portion size of each dish.

I enjoyed the meal deliciously and had a great time☆ The squid was plentiful in the tank, sorry! But it was delicious haha. The part-time staff were surprisingly unfriendly, but the full-time employees provided excellent customer service!

I couldn't make a reservation, so I decided to try my luck and go on the day, and there were seats available, so I was able to use them. The menu is irresistible for fish lovers. Nowadays, when there are fewer opportunities to cook fish dishes at home, shops where you can enjoy fresh fish like this are extremely valuable. The squid is cooked immediately after being taken from the tank, so it starts moving when you pour soy sauce on it. It's also fun to see the squid being served right in front of you. Everything was delicious, so I will definitely go again.

I made a reservation for Saturday at 5:30 PM, but I didn't feel like going back again... When I arrived on the 4th floor, they told me I should be on the 5th floor, which was confusing. The atmosphere was noisy and I couldn't hear my companion. The famous Yari Ika dish was already sold out, so we ordered the Swordtip Squid instead, but it felt like they were trying to make us order more expensive items. The food took a long time to come out, and when we asked, it seemed like they had forgotten about our order. Overall, I didn't have a good impression of the restaurant and I don't think I would recommend it to others. If you're looking for a similar level of food, there are better options in Shinjuku. This restaurant might be okay for people who don't mind the loud atmosphere.

We used it for two people. We ordered half-size simmered kinmedai, fresh spear squid sashimi, squid tempura, oyster fry, enagawa sashimi, shrimp shumai, pickled raw fish with green tea over rice, and a few more dishes. We also had 4 beers and 3 highballs, totaling about 18,500 yen. The squid was still moving and it was fun to eat. The simmered kinmedai was delicious in a basic way. The enagawa sashimi was rich in fat and had a great volume. Everything we ate was delicious.
