I felt like having the Tan-Gyo (tanmen and gyoza) at Rai Rai Ken in Higashi-Yokocho after a long time, so I revisited the restaurant after about 1 year and 8 months. The restaurant's name is written as "來々軒" in Kanji. I first tried their food over 17 years ago and have been visiting regularly whenever I have the chance. Rai Rai Ken, established in 1959, is well-known for its Tan-Gyo. The restaurant was crowded when I arrived at 1:30 pm, with about 2 groups of customers waiting in line inside. After waiting for about 5 minutes outside, I was finally seated. I purchased a ticket for Tanmen and gyoza for 1,340 yen from the ticket machine. Shortly after handing in my ticket, I was guided to my seat. As soon as I sat down, I was served a complimentary "Tanmen vegetables". The soup and vegetables were served as a complimentary starter, and when mixed with their homemade chili oil, it tasted delicious. A minute later, the gyoza arrived, followed by the Tanmen. The Tanmen had a clear soup base made from chicken bones, with a light and gentle flavor. The seasoning of salt and pepper was perfect, and the flavor of the vegetables blended well with the soup. The main vegetables were stewed cabbage, with a small amount of bean sprouts and leeks. The portion size was generous. The noodles were a medium thickness with a wavy texture, made by "Asakusa Kaikaro". The noodles had a chewy and springy texture. Adding their homemade chili oil to the soup changed the flavor significantly and kept it interesting until the last bite (the chili oil was quite spicy). The gyoza had a juicy vegetable-based filling with a satisfying texture. The thick and chewy skin was also delicious. The filling was already flavorful, but dipping it in their homemade chili oil and vinegar soy sauce made it even better. The large size of the gyoza was filling, with 5 pieces being enough. The taste, service, and atmosphere were all excellent as always. For me, this restaurant is definitely the number one choice for a combination of light Tanmen and gyoza. It's a top-notch restaurant that I want to keep visiting for the Tan-Gyo! Delicious!

This is a restaurant that is one of the top 100 shops in 2021. It is a dumpling shop where you order by purchasing a food ticket at the ticket machine inside the store. I ordered a serving of fried dumplings for 550 yen and a large bottle of beer for 850 yen, which was Kirin Classic Lager. As a complimentary service, they offer Tanmen vegetable soup at the beginning, which is light and delicious. They also provided homemade chili oil, which added a spicy kick to the food and made the beer even more enjoyable. The dumplings were served in a set of 5, with one being particularly large and filled with a generous amount of filling. The dipping sauce offered was a black vinegar made from aged sake lees called Zhenjiang Xiangcu, and it came with a vegetable soup as well. It felt like having a complete meal with the Tanmen soup. Overall, it was a great place to enjoy delicious dumplings and beer as a snack.

I went to Komakoma for lunch after a long time. I decided to have some gyoza, so I ordered the pan-fried gyoza with rice. The gyoza comes in a serving of 5 pieces, but I ordered two servings. Along with the gyoza, they also serve a complimentary tanmen vegetable soup which is quite healthy with lots of vegetables. It's interesting how here gyoza is considered a side dish while in China, gyoza is a perfect dish where the main course is wrapped in one bite. Just like how people from Kanto region find Kansai okonomiyaki set meals strange, it's all relative, isn't it? Anyway, the first serving of pan-fried gyoza arrived - the skin was chewy and the filling was generous and juicy. It was delicious! The second serving arrived soon after, and I enjoyed the gyoza to my heart's content. It was so tasty! And I was full! Thank you for the meal!

I arrived at Tangyo in Kiba on Saturday night at 7:00 PM and only one group was waiting. As soon as we entered, a serving of Tanmen vegetables appeared as a snack! We ordered Tanmen and 3 gyoza, and they arrived in less than 10 minutes. It's fast! The Tanmen was light yet peppery, and the gyoza was delicious.

Located a 5-7 minute walk from Kiba Station, Kikikken is a gyoza restaurant that offers generous portions at reasonable prices while maintaining a traditional atmosphere. Selected as one of the top 100 gyoza restaurants in 2019 and 2021, this establishment also stands out for its warm and friendly service typical of local Chinese eateries. You can also purchase gyoza for takeout, making it a great option for enjoying at home. On this visit, we tried the grilled gyoza and the char siu rice, which cost around 1,000 yen. The large gyoza was packed with filling, with juicy meat that almost made you feel like you were biting into a piece of meat. The crispy texture of the grilled skin was delightful, and the soup and char siu rice were also delicious. They also offer noodle dishes like champon, allowing you to enjoy a satisfying Chinese meal. Be sure to visit and enjoy the food! Thank you for the meal!

Since I lived in the neighborhood, this has been my favorite gyoza in my life. The shop is famous for its tangy gyoza, but I think the best combination is gyoza with rice. No matter what you order, you will be served with vegetable stew and vegetable soup, so I usually get two servings of gyoza and a beer to fill me up. I will definitely visit again.

I had Tan-Gyo for lunch. The lightly flavored Tanmen paired with flavorful gyoza was indeed the perfect combination as rumored. I felt satisfied both in my stomach and heart. The Tanmen was a bit lacking in flavor on its own, with just a hint of salt, pepper, and vegetable umami. But then the gyoza arrived, with its chewy and rich meat juices bursting out, and I thought, "Ah, I see." This is definitely addictive, I will definitely come back for more.

I ordered Tangyo. It is a combination of light tanmen and juicy gyoza, which can be eaten quickly without getting tired. The gyoza has more vegetables, and the tanmen also has plenty of vegetables, so it doesn't feel heavy on the stomach even after eating a lot.

I ordered Tangyo (combination of tanmen and gyoza). The vegetable stir-fry as a service dish arrived first, so I ate that while waiting for the gyoza and ramen. Soon after, the tanmen and gyoza arrived. The gyoza was juicy and filled with plenty of ingredients. The tanmen had a gentle vegetable soup that was addictively delicious. The gyoza was so tasty that I couldn't resist taking a bite before taking a picture. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered a set of small tantanmen and 3 gyoza, and I was happy that they had this size available. First, the gyoza arrived, followed by the tantanmen. The gyoza was filled with ingredients and satisfying to eat, and the tantanmen had thick noodles that were chewy and plenty of vegetables, which were also delicious. I was very full and satisfied. The timing was good too, with only a few minutes of waiting time.

☆Tangyo ¥1360 After a night of drinking, I searched for a ramen place in the area. Found a place in Kiba, one station away. Unfortunately, that place was closed for about 3 weeks. Had to search again and found a place nearby called Hyakumeiten. Without hesitation, I visited. I was hesitating at the ticket machine when someone recommended the Tangyo ramen. I decided to go with that. As soon as I sat down, they brought me a stir-fried vegetable dish as a service while waiting for the ramen. But I didn't have to wait long as the ramen arrived quickly. I added the stir-fried vegetables into the ramen for extra veggies. The noodles were quite thick for ramen and had a strong salty flavor. The texture of the noodles was very good. But what I really liked was the gyoza, which was generously filled with ingredients and didn't release excess moisture when bitten into. If I wasn't full from the ramen, I would have definitely ordered more gyoza. Feeling full and pleasantly tipsy, I fell asleep on the train ride home and ended up taking a U-turn back. It was a perfect day.

I was able to get in before 7pm without waiting. I saw a small tanmen for the first time... I always end up too full, so I didn't hesitate to order the "small" size. They also served a good amount of vegetables as a service, so my satisfaction level remained the same. The simple salt soup and thick, chewy noodles were delicious. The flavorful dumplings and vegetables, along with the black vinegar and chili oil on the table, made them even more enjoyable. After finishing my meal, I noticed they had a summer limited cold ramen, but I'll probably go for tanmen again next time.

The classic is Tangyo. The set of Tanmen and Gyoza was amazing. First, I was impressed that you could enjoy the ingredients of Tanmen as an appetizer. And it was delicious right away. It was amazing when I added homemade chili oil. I want to have it as a snack. The highly anticipated Tanmen had a soup with plenty of vegetables that soaked up the flavor. The noodles were my favorite thick noodles! They mixed well with the soup, and I couldn't stop eating. The soy sauce ramen was so classic that I couldn't help but say, "This is what I wanted to eat!" If I had to choose one to eat for the rest of my life, I would choose this one, as it was a classic and stable example of ramen. The Gyoza had a plump filling, and it was very satisfying! The perfect grilling... It was delicious to eat with black vinegar. It was hot inside the restaurant in the summer, but no matter how hot it was, delicious food makes the chopsticks move. I will definitely go back.

[Store Name] Rairai-ken [Order] Tanmen and Gyoza [Impression] The Tanmen and Gyoza at Rairai-ken were truly amazing. The thickness of the noodles was particularly impressive, providing a chewy texture with each bite. The stir-fried vegetables served as an appetizer were colorful, crunchy, and had a refreshing flavor. Both the Gyoza and Tanmen were exquisite! The Gyoza had thin, crispy skins and juicy, flavorful fillings. The Tanmen soup had a rich flavor with each sip. The Tanmen here is truly a unique dish that is hard to find elsewhere. [Atmosphere] It was a hot summer day, but the restaurant was cool and comfortable. Although it was somewhat empty when I arrived, it quickly filled up with customers, a testament to its popularity. [Staff] The staff were very hospitable, greeting me with energy and a smile. I felt at ease enjoying my meal, even on my first visit. [Location] Rairai-ken is located a 4-minute walk from Toyocho Station, making it easily accessible. Its convenient location is one of its appealing features, allowing for easy visits with friends or family.

This shop in Kiba is famous for its gyoza, which was selected as one of the top 100 shops. I ordered the tanmen and gyoza set, but even though I ordered tanmen, they also included a vegetable stir-fry! Their service is excellent! The gyoza had a chewy skin with delicious filling. It was amazing. The tanmen was also delicious, but the portions were huge with the gyoza and vegetable stir-fry, so I ended up quite full. Next time, I want to try a different menu. Thank you for the meal.

Saturday at 6 pm with no wait. Perhaps due to the intense heat, there were only 2 customers when we arrived. After that, a few more single male customers, who seemed to live nearby, trickled in. The shop is now using the name "Tangyo" and had previously had it displayed on the ticket machine, but it was changed to "Tangmen Gyoza." I ordered the specialty "Tangmen Gyoza for 1,360 yen." If ordered separately, it would be "Tangmen for 810 yen" and "Gyoza for 550 yen (5 pieces)." While I was purchasing from the ticket machine, a complimentary dish of boiled vegetables was prepared at the table. It consisted of cabbage, bean sprouts, and a little bit of carrot lightly seasoned with salt, with a base flavor reminiscent of MSG consomme. It was light and refreshing, allowing you to enjoy it without any guilt. It is recommended to add a little bit of their homemade chili oil for extra flavor, but be careful not to overdo it as it is quite spicy. The Tangmen was loaded with vegetables and had a generous portion. It mainly consisted of cabbage and bean sprouts, with a few pieces of wood ear mushrooms, pork, and green peppers mixed in. The soup, like the boiled vegetables, had a consomme flavor with a hint of black pepper. It was gentle and not overwhelming. The noodles were thick curly noodles with a nostalgic flavor reminiscent of kansui. The gyoza were large with a crispy sear on one side from being well-cooked. The other side was slightly oily and slippery. The thick skin had a sweet taste, and the meat filling was also sweet and flavorful. The strong seasoning of the gyoza paired well with the light flavor of the Tangmen. However, the richness of the gyoza towards the end was a bit too much. The boiled vegetables and lightly seasoned dishes were guilt-free and easy on the stomach. The homemade chili oil was delicious, so I bought some to take home. Overall, despite the complimentary dish and quality ingredients, considering the location, I still felt that it was quite pricey.

⭐️Food log: Visited a famous dumpling restaurant in August, with 100 locations, at 6:00 PM. I had 3 dumplings for 350 yen. The dumplings had a satisfying texture with just the right amount of salt, making them delicious even when eaten as is. You can also enjoy changing the flavor by adding their unique chili oil generously. I also ordered a small bowl of rice for 100 yen, which came with a vegetable stir-fry and Chinese soup as a service. I would like to revisit this restaurant to try their Tanmen noodles as well. It had a nostalgic atmosphere that I enjoyed.

■Shop Information I came to Kiba because I've been lacking vegetables lately and wanted to eat Tanmen, so I visited "Rairaiken." This shop is popular for its Tanmen and Gyoza combo known as "Tangyo." I visited at 7:00 PM, but was able to get in without waiting. ■What I Ate - Tangyo: ¥1360 - Half Rice: ¥100 First, the vegetables for the Tanmen were served in a separate dish, so I ate them while waiting. After about 10 minutes, the dishes arrived. The Tanmen and Gyoza were quite filling. The Tanmen seemed to be chicken-based, with a light and easy-to-drink soup. It was delicious to eat while adding pepper or homemade chili oil for flavor. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles, which I like. The vegetables were crunchy and tasty, and the dish was quite light, focusing on the vegetables. I would recommend this to those who enjoy light Tanmen! On the Instagram account "Nonaru Danshi no Tokyo Lunch Meshi," with 70,000 followers, delicious food from Tokyo and various regions across Japan is being introduced!

Today, I had a somewhat terrible day. It's my birthday, but the Shanghai crab costs over 50,000 yen. I moved to Mandarin. I went to the bar at the Mandarin Hotel worldwide and my mind went blank. I walked around Nihonbashi with my family and when we went to Yodobashi to shop for household items, I felt a little hungry when we went outside. First choice was eel, but they only had takeout with reservations. Second choice was pork bowl (Obihiro style with side dishes in the evening), but it was full. Oh no, no luck. I thought about going back and when I looked in the opposite direction, the usual view was different. There was no line at RaRaKen! I decided to go in and bought gyoza with a food ticket. They also had Heartland beer! Could it be? Gyoza? The food came with a hot vegetable stir-fry on a small plate. It was really hot! The soup was incredibly hot. I took a bite. It was crispy, chewy, full of flavor, and the meat juices spread in my mouth. Hmm, delicious. It was only 1/10 of a lunch, but I was very satisfied! Thank you for the meal!

#Gyoza restaurant Rai Rai Ken #Tangyo #Tabelog Top 100 "Tangmen + Gyoza" also known as the origin of #Tangyo famous for #Gyoza Top 100. The exterior gives off a feeling of a very ordinary Chinese restaurant in a town, which is quite appealing. I visited after lunchtime on a weekday. Upon entering the restaurant, there was a ticket vending machine where I purchased my meal ticket and sat at the counter seat. There are also table seats available. As soon as I sat down, a complimentary Tangmen vegetable dish was served, which was a satisfying service for my hunger. On the table, there was black vinegar #Zhenjiang Xiangcu made from aged sake lees, which was very delicious! It paired well with the vegetables. Shortly after, the Tangmen and Gyoza were served. First, I tried the Tangmen. It was gentle! The soup skillfully conveyed the umami of the vegetables, not too light in flavor either. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles with a good chewy texture. Next, I tried the Gyoza. The juicy filling was amazing, a well-seasoned Gyoza with plenty of ingredients inside. It paired extremely well with the black vinegar! The gentle flavor of the Tangmen and the robustness of the Gyoza were well-balanced. Truly a well-composed dish! It's no wonder it's the origin of Tangyo. I highly recommend this set menu! #Tokyo Top 100 #Kiba Top 100 #Toyocho Top 100 #Gyoza Top 100 #Michelin for the chubby.

Kururiya in Kiba. There were seats available. The appetizer was like Tanmen without noodles! It was delicious! Maybe noodles are not necessary, haha. The black vinegar was excellent. Small Tanmen with 3 dumplings (1,000 yen). The dumplings were crispy and full of flavor. The Tanmen soup was delicious and the noodles were firm. Even just the appetizer was good. Added more dumplings, crispy and delicious!
