Around 1:45 PM in the afternoon, after watching a movie, I was planning to go to another store but I got intrigued by the menu of this restaurant on the first floor of this building. They had a Ladies Set with Genghis Khan, which included 100 grams of meat with almond jelly for 1200 yen, and 160 grams for 1600 yen. I took the elevator to the 6th floor and as soon as the door on the opposite side opened, I found myself in the restaurant called Kirishima Rikishi, owned by a sumo wrestler. There were two sections in the restaurant, one for chanko-nabe and the other for Genghis Khan. I was seated at a table by the window and decided to try the limited-time chanko-nabe. I pressed the call button to place my order and chose the regular portion of rice. The staff, with a lovely smile, guided me to the drink bar where I found warm coffee and hot water. I had some namul of bean sprouts and cabbage strips were served. The cabbage strips were for refills, I realized. The soup had a strong lamb flavor with bean sprouts in it. The drink bar had various cold drinks like orange juice, green tea, coffee, and oolong tea. I chose oolong tea. The satsuma-age was warm and fluffy with ginger, and soy sauce was served later. The chanko-nabe was served in about 13 minutes. It had scallops, small shrimp, pork belly, chicken meatballs, aburaage, chicken breast, white cabbage, leeks, and sesame seeds on top. The soup was initially too peppery for my liking but after removing some of the pepper, it tasted great. The rice was soft and hot, easy to eat, and slightly sweet. The lamb soup without meat also had a lamb aroma and taste. The satsuma-age was warm and fluffy, the ginger complemented it well. The bean sprout namul was refreshing. The cabbage strips had two types of dressing, Japanese and French, I tried the French one which was just right, not too sour. The iced oolong tea was aromatic and delicious. After the meal, I noticed handprints of sumo wrestlers in the elevator hall and videos of the sumo wrestler owner in the back of the restaurant. It was nice that they also offered chanko-nabe in the sumo restaurant during both lunch and dinner times. The fact that the chanko-nabe was continuously heated while you ate was great. The lunch set was a good deal, with a drink bar on weekdays and one drink included on weekends and holidays. I look forward to trying the Genghis Khan next time. Thank you for the meal. Lunch is served until 3 PM.
