TACKNMON
Today's pick is "Tofu Cuisine Sorano Ebisu Store." Located just a 3-minute skip from Ebisu Station. Opened in October 2002, renovated in November 2022! The serene space with a warm wooden feel and healthy tofu dishes are the highlights. The specialty product is "Sorano Tofu," made at the customer's table in a tofu-making process that does not use additives or coagulants. The restaurant is operated by Foodgate Co., Ltd., known for popular establishments such as "Gohan-ya Ichishin Daikanyama" and "Udon Yamanaga." Sister stores include "Tofu Cuisine Sorano Shibuya Store" and "Tofu Cuisine Sorano Minamisenba Store." I visited during lunchtime on a weekday. The sky looked like it might rain as I gazed at it. The atmosphere was a bit gloomy. I was strolling around Ebisu, contemplating having Chinese cuisine when I found myself crossing the street unintentionally. Oh well, this must be destiny. The restaurant I had been curious about for a while had a good vibe from the exterior. The outdoor terrace seating looked appealing, and it seems they welcome dogs. I wonder if cats, rabbits, or giraffes are allowed too. Oh well, let's take responsibility for our choices. The interior is a mix of concrete and wood, creating an urban modern feel with natural light both inside and out, providing a stylish and open atmosphere. The ceiling is somewhat high, and the tables and counter seats are spacious and functional. The chairs are surprisingly comfortable for the price. There were still plenty of seats available at this time, with about 80% female customers and some male customers, making it feel like a girls' school. It's summer! Time for a swimming class! Exciting times ahead! The jazz BGM was playing, and the water served was delicious. The air conditioning was comfortable, and the restroom was clean and functional. No amenities were provided. They accept electronic payments. The staff's service was impeccable, very friendly and welcoming. I decided to try the "Beef Belly Beer Stew Set" for 1250 yen. Although the "Silken Tofu Set" was recommended, I couldn't resist the temptation of beef belly. Well, to be honest, it was the beer that caught my attention. The dish arrived quickly, and it looked delicious. The tofu was also included, along with a hint of olive salt. The side dish today was pumpkin. I started with the miso soup, which was flavorful with homemade fried tofu and finely textured tofu. The tofu itself was elegant and smooth, enjoyable on its own or with the soy sauce dashi. The salad was fresh, and the addition of fruits was a nice touch. The beef belly was incredibly tasty, tender, and the burdock was excellent. The broth was irresistible. Oh, this spoon is for scooping the broth! That means... I'll have some more rice, please. The joy of being able to have seconds was a pleasant surprise. The rice was delicious too, sourced from Nanatsuboshi in Hokkaido. The rice was so good, it brought back memories of Hokkaido's starry nights. I asked for half a portion of rice, but a regular portion arrived. Well, I can handle it, no problem. I mixed the leftover beef and tofu with rice and poured the beer stew over it. The result was a bowl full of delight. It may sound a bit crude, but it was seriously delicious. Overall, it was a delightful and enjoyable restaurant. The staff were excellent, and the food was delicious. I had a great time.
