On Saturday afternoon, we had a lunch that doubled as a thank-you party at Cuisine Est on the 25th floor of Hotel Metropolitan. The view from the high-rise in Ikebukuro was breathtaking. We started with a toast with wine. Since they only had Pommery champagne, I opted for a rare choice of rosé, while my husband enjoyed the wine pairing with Mariage. Lunch menu: - Appetizer: Norwegian salmon with beet emulsion, chutney A dish that tickles the senses, with pink beet mousse, rare Norwegian salmon, and herb and chutney flavors. - First course: Red snapper and guanciale Amatriciana or Porcini mushroom risotto with foie gras (additional charge) We shared both dishes, but the Amatriciana was the winner. The unexpected combination of red snapper and guanciale paired well with the sweet tomato sauce. - Fish dish: Amberjack confit with yuzu-scented negi cream A stylish plate with amberjack confit topped with negi cream sauce. The yuzu jam served was almost identical to my homemade jam, which made me smile. - Meat dish: Braised beef cheek with polenta or Sendai black beef charcoal-grilled Trinchado (additional charge) The braised beef cheek with polenta and artichokes complemented the meat sauce well. The tenderness of the meat and the texture of the vegetables added a nice contrast. I also stole a bite of the charcoal-grilled Sendai black beef, which was simple yet highlighted the quality of the ingredients. I'm not sure what Trinchado is, but it was simply delicious. - Dessert: Dessert cart I haven't had all-you-can-eat dessert in decades! I couldn't help but feel excited. The staff recommended trying everything, but I politely ordered a few items. I enjoyed cheesecake, Bavarian cream, fruit tart, roll cake, orange jelly, financiers, and more. We ended with coffee. It was delicious and fun. Thank you very much.

I used it for afternoon tea. The taste was so-so, but it took a long time for them to bring the drinks, and there were no staff nearby, so it was difficult to order. Because of this, I didn't feel that the service level was high. The taste was not particularly good for the price, and the dishes were not the kind that would make you excited for an afternoon tea experience. I felt that the overall cost performance of the restaurant was quite low.

Located a 5-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station West Exit, on the 25th floor of Hotel Metropolitan, is the Italian-French restaurant "Cuisine Est." On the same floor as the restaurant I visited last week, Auvest, the entrance is separated by glass. I ended up coming to the same restaurant two weeks in a row without realizing it when making reservations. The courses included: - Amuse-bouche: Almond pudding with lobster bisque - Appetizer: Chicken en croûte with beet and lemon marmalade - Pasta: Yuzu-scented pollock roe cream pasta with fried shirako - Shinano Gold granite - Main course: Tokyo beef and sea urchin taliata with kecha sauce and Pedro Ximenez - Dessert: Citrus and chocolate composition coupe - Coffee and petit fours - Draft beer - Evian Auvest has a lounge-like atmosphere, while Cuisine Est feels more like a restaurant. If I were to revisit, I would choose Cuisine Est for the better night view, although I couldn't see Tokyo Tower or Skytree from my seat. The service was impeccable at this restaurant.

I went to the top floor of Ikebukuro Metropolitan Hotel. Today, they only offered a Christmas menu. My companion chose Course A, while I chose Course B. We probably all ordered the same course with our companions, but I have a habit of sneaking a taste of what my companion is eating, which is not really acceptable in French cuisine. I'm sorry... The Christmas-themed menu was all beautiful and luxurious. The appetizers that highlighted the ingredients were delicious, but when it came to more elaborate dishes, well, I guess that's just how French cuisine is. Especially for the meat dishes, despite being the main course, they felt light. I didn't mind the portion size, but I wished for more impactful flavors. Whenever I come here, I always end up forgetting what I ate the next day... The view and service are good. I'll come back hoping for a dish that leaves me satisfied!

This is a celebration for adults. We reserved a private room with our family. Instead of the usual buffet, we opted for a luxurious lunch course at a restaurant with a great view. For dessert, they served a variety of options in small portions. To all the young adults who are about to embark on the journey of adulthood, there will be ups and downs, but with your strength, you can create a bright future for yourselves and for Japan! The meal was delicious!

Hello~♪(^.^)/ 2021.12.28 Just to let you know, this will be a long one. Today, I came here for the end-of-year party at work. It's been a while since I've been to Ikebukuro. This is the city where I was born and raised until I was 23 years old. Now, only a handful of friends remain in this area. The manager of Tomikusu Sushi is one of them. For lunch today, we went to "Cuisine Est" on the top floor of the Metropolitan Hotel. This area has changed a lot since my childhood. The west side of the station used to have tennis courts. And this area used to be filled with shabby old apartment buildings. Now, there are all these impressive new buildings, it's amazing. As we entered, the entrance was so cool. It felt like going on an exciting cave exploration. There was a champagne bottle tower on the left side and everything was so fancy. We went to the right side where the restaurant was located. The entrance was really stylish. As we walked in, it felt like an adventure. Inside, everyone from work was already there. Am I the last one? Well, not really because I'm not late. But the view outside the window was amazing, with skyscrapers like Sunshine City and endless blue sky. The president sat next to me. I'm sitting next to Pippu♪ (Who's got a stiff shoulder? You do!) So, we opened the drink menu and... Huh? No beer on the menu? I asked the waitress and she said they have it. So, let's start with a beer toast. It's not on the menu, so I don't know how much it costs, but it's not my treat, so no problem. The wine prices are really high though. And sparkling wine for 33,000 yen!!! I can never afford that... And water for 1,300 yen, seriously?! Soon, the beer arrived. So, cheers to everyone for their hard work this year! Cheers~ Glug glug~ Ah, it's delicious! The bubbles are different. And now, the food arrived. There was a menu list on the table. Let me introduce the dishes on the menu. First, we had "Norwegian Salmon Mi-Cuit with Beet Emulsion Chutney." It's a fancy name for half-cooked salmon with olive oil and beet paste. The salmon was surrounded by a beautiful pink sauce. It looked like a fantasy dish. Let's give it a try. Yum, it's delicious! (Why are you speaking in Hokkaido dialect?) It's because it's salmon from Norway! The combination of salmon and the slightly sour sauce is really good. Next up, we had a selection to choose from. 1. "Fridge - Cod and Guanciale Amatriciana" 2. "Porcini Mushroom Risotto"...

We celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary by visiting Cuisine Est at Hotel Metropolitan for the first time. Despite the current situation, we wanted to celebrate. When making a reservation, we requested to avoid tables near large groups, and we were seated in a room on the east side with a view of the kitchen through glass. From the 25th floor window, we could see Sunshine City and Ikebukuro Station, which made us happy. The Pranzo B course, at a JR Members price of 6050 yen (tax included), included: - Appetizer: Charcoal-grilled Miyagi eel with white kidney beans salad in orange balsamic sauce - Pasta: Squid and Savoy cabbage garganelli with bottarga - Fish dish: Lightly fried Ainame from Tohoku with green asparagus risotto - Meat dish: Duck breast cooked at low temperature with Aomori apple mostarda and berry-scented Bigarade sauce, or charcoal-grilled US beef sirloin with parsnip puree and seasonal vegetables - Dessert: Selection from the dessert cart, with coffee, tea, or herbal tea The lunch course had just the right balance of flavor and portion size. However, there were many bread rolls, and when we asked to take some home to avoid food waste, we were told it was not possible. My husband ended up eating them to prevent waste. They also decorated the dessert with a celebration theme and took a photo for us. It was a nice experience to have a leisurely meal at a hotel after a long time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

We had a meeting between the two families! I was nervous, but the staff helped with timing the dishes, which was very helpful. The dishes looked stylish and tasted delicious. Being on the 25th floor, the view was also very beautiful, and I imagine the night view would be stunning too.

A sky restaurant where you can enjoy Italian and French fusion cuisine. It was a rainy day, but I was healed by the city view. The 9000 yen dinner course came with a wine pairing of 3 types. All the dishes were delicious. Most importantly, the staff's service was excellent. Despite the shortened business hours due to the state of emergency declaration, I was worried that I would have to eat the course meal in a hurry, but at this restaurant, I was able to enjoy a proper hospitality. I am very satisfied that I could savor the meal slowly. I will definitely come back.

I had lunch at this place and sat at a table where the sunlight was just right, making it very pleasant. The dishes had a mix of ethnic and French flavors, with a hint of Southeast Asian elements. The portion size was just right, and I finished it all in no time.

Tobu Metropolitan. It's been a while since we had a family meal out. We used the Go To Eat campaign. Started with tuna carpaccio appetizer. Followed by short pasta with sea bream in tomato sauce. Refreshing orange sherbet. Then, sirloin steak. Finished with baked apple dessert, sweets, and coffee. Three drinks included: sparkling, white, and red wine. Just the right amount and very satisfying.

I visited this restaurant for a girls' lunch on a holiday! We had a seat by the window with a great view, you can even see Mount Fuji ⭐︎ The foie gras hamburger lunch set includes appetizers, hamburger, bread, and dessert. The hamburger was topped with freshly shaved truffles right in front of us, and it was delicious and flavorful♡ You can choose your dessert from a dessert cart, but there were only about 4 options, so I wish there were more choices considering the price. Since it's located inside a hotel, it's a calm and relaxing place, perfect for a leisurely lunch!

Visited for my wife's birthday. It seems that there was a Gochi Battle by Gurunai, so I chose that course. The night view from the 25th floor was amazing and the atmosphere was great. Started with champagne for a toast. There were a total of 7 dishes starting from the appetizer, and the pace of eating was fast, as we quickly reached the main course. I'm not familiar with Western cuisine, but all the sauces were delicious and the wine was enjoyable. Including the wine, it was quite expensive so I can't come often, but the atmosphere is nice and quiet, making it a relaxing place. I would love to come back on a special occasion.

French restaurant located on the 25th floor of Hotel Metropolitan, a short walk to the left after exiting the west exit of Ikebukuro Station. The elevator is not directly visible from the hotel entrance, so it might be faster to head towards the front desk first (it is located opposite the front desk). The 25th floor has a glamorous atmosphere with sparkling interiors that are sure to appeal to women. The restaurant is spacious, with a distance from the entrance to the seats, and the timing was perfect for live piano performances, creating a great mood. Live performances are held regularly. The fantastic night view that can be seen from afar is wonderful, and the dim lighting inside the restaurant makes it perfect for taking beautiful photos. The service is smooth as it is a restaurant within the hotel, and you may feel like you are being watched by someone. The presentation of the dishes is beautiful, and the taste is safe and hotel-like. The ambiance of the restaurant and the view from the window are great, making it ideal for a special date in Ikebukuro. When making a reservation, be sure to request a table by the window. :)

I was taken to this restaurant for a special anniversary dinner. It is located on the 25th floor of the Metropolitan building, and has a sophisticated atmosphere with a beautiful night view. The lighting is dim, and the tables are spaced apart, creating a sense of privacy. We were able to enjoy a quiet conversation and have a special time just the two of us. The food exceeded my expectations and every dish in the course menu was delicious. I especially liked the foie gras with caramelized orange. They even included a special message in the dessert, making it a memorable experience!

On December 25th, the couple had some business in Christmas Ikebukuro. They had made a reservation at Metropolitan Ikebukuro a month in advance. They are not Buddhists or Christians, but simply wanted to enjoy a delicious meal to energize themselves for the next day. The hotel had a policy of only offering set menus for pairs, but they were luckily able to get a table tonight due to a last-minute opening. They were pleased to receive a complimentary glass of champagne. The meal included two appetizers, fish, meat, dessert, and tea with sweets. The standout dish was the foie gras with kumquat sauce. The sweet and sour kumquat peel complemented the foie gras beautifully. The kumquat's flavor intensified with each bite. They ordered a bottle of wine but couldn't finish it, so they asked the waiter to enjoy it. Despite wanting to stay longer, they had to remind themselves of work tomorrow and went to bed early. The hotel's service was impeccable, and they had a wonderful dining experience.

We made a reservation for a visit lunch around 2 PM on Saturday and ordered the course for two people. The sea bream carpaccio and steak were delicious! The highly anticipated basil pasta was a bit disappointing. The dessert was quite disappointing. The wine, both white and red, was tasteful and delicious. This is a perfect restaurant for a date!

◆ December, 2018 ◆ Hotel Metropolitan 25th floor - Cuisine Est ◆ Dinner Chef's Course 8000 yen (at that time) In the midst of a week of year-end parties, on a day when I had to go to Tsukiji Market for purchasing, I had a tough day with a year-end party in Ikebukuro. From 4 am to 11 pm... The venue was on the 25th floor of Hotel Metropolitan, Cuisine Est. Since it was a small group this time, they provided us with a private room. ◆ Dinner Menu ◇ Duo of Lobster and Avocado - Mango Vinaigrette ◇ Truffle and Shark Fin Steamed Consomme ◇ Grilled Red Snapper Scales, Chrysanthemum Risotto - Catalonian Style Sauce with Red Bell Pepper ◇ Gratin of Domestic Beef Fillet - Shallot Flavored with Madeira Sauce ◇ Sweet Chestnut Verrine ◇ Coffee Fondue A fusion of French and Italian cuisine? The location was great, and the restaurant was impressive, but the content was a casual creative course. The presentation seemed to have some effort put into it, but surprisingly, the taste was just average. Not bad, but not delicious either. I wonder if the chef tastes the food... The restaurant staff were also perfectly middle-class. Not bad, but lacking in excitement. I can't say too much since I was treated to the meal (laughs;). If you want to enjoy a meal while looking at the night view in Ikebukuro, it might be worth a try. The wine & cheese at the bar Ovest on the same floor is not bad either. Thank you for the meal ✋ I will visit again when I have the chance.

We were treated to a special lunch course. My son really enjoyed the pear juice. The attentive service and meticulous cooking left us very satisfied. They offered refills for bread and coffee at the right times. All the dishes were delicious, but the sea bream dish was exceptional, even my wife, who usually doesn't like fish, enjoyed it. When a piece of bread accidentally touched my clothes, the staff immediately replaced it with a new one, showing their thorough hygiene management. We will definitely visit again.

I recommend visiting "Cuisine Est" for LunchTime. They offer sophisticated dishes that combine Italian cuisine with French culinary techniques. The stylishly designed interior is bright and allows for a view of the scenery from the tables. I was satisfied with both the service and the food at this restaurant. ( ^∀^)

I visited during lunchtime on Wednesday. It was a sudden gathering, but the staff at Hotel Metropolitan kindly prepared a table for us. The restaurant was almost full with calm-looking people from the neighborhood. I realized the importance of making a reservation. I was very lucky to get a seat. Since I had limited time, I opted for a short course, which was colorful and made with summer ingredients. I was very satisfied. I definitely want to come back next time and enjoy it with wine.
