I arrived at "Tamura" in Ueno at the invitation of my friend, A. It had been a while since I last visited Ueno. I got off at Ueno-Hirokoji Station for the first time and coincidentally arrived at the second branch, which is our destination. There seems to be a first branch right next to it. When I looked closely, I saw a yellow sign with the word "yakiniku" on it. The recommended menu items were posted on the wall next to the entrance. It seemed promising. Inside the restaurant, there were two types of seating - tables and horigotatsu (sunken kotatsu) style. Surprisingly, it was okay to sit at the horigotatsu tables with shoes on. That caught me off guard. We started with a toast with beer. Just then, another friend, O, arrived. We toasted again. Happy Hour offered beer for 290 yen until 8:00 PM, which was very convenient. We kept drinking more and more. We started with the carefully selected sirloin. Normally, we would start with kalbi, but this time, we left it to the experienced person. Next was the tongue. O cooked it for us, so I focused on eating. Eating yakiniku with friends is really delicious. We kept eating more and more. Next was the tail. It was really delicious. The texture was great and it was a seasonal limited item, which made sense. Then, we had upper harami. Harami might be my favorite now. Eating harami makes me feel happy. Various types of meat were being grilled. O served the meat and we kept eating. It had been a while since I focused solely on eating. Next was the special liver. It had a nice color. I don't usually eat liver at yakiniku restaurants, but this one was really delicious. It tasted even better when wrapped in Korean seaweed. Adding green salad made it healthier. We kept drinking and eating, but it felt healthy. Then, we had kalbi rare. The main person appeared with a large plate of meat and seemed very happy. Of course, the meat was delicious too. We had kejang. The color of the chili peppers was nice. Kejang is a dish where live blue crab is marinated in salt and a special sauce. It was crunchy and delicious. It was my first time trying it. Next was the middle rib. I don't usually eat this, but it tasted even better because it's rare. Then we had pork kalbi. Today, we balanced eating beef and pork. Both were delicious. Garlic was also good. I ate quite a bit, but the smell didn't bother me much. Masks are mandatory now, which was helpful. I felt energized. We had abura horumon. It was marinated in a sauce with plenty of oil, but it wasn't as oily as the name suggests. It was easy to eat and nutritious. It's a menu for men, perhaps? For the finale, we ordered two dishes because opinions were divided. We shared both dishes. First was tegutan soup. It looked quite spicy, but even for someone like me who doesn't like spicy food, it was just the right amount of spiciness. It was delicious! The soup was great. Then, we had cold noodles. This was a familiar taste. It was a perfect way to finish the meal. Thank you for the meal. This time, I focused solely on eating, so when I looked at the photos later, I couldn't remember the names of the dishes. O kindly reminded me afterwards, which was helpful. If it had been just A, I probably wouldn't have focused solely on eating and would have recorded everything myself. Nevertheless, it was great. It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal.
