I visited "Ginza Ukai-tei" for a birthday celebration. It is a steak and teppanyaki restaurant located in the Tsukiji Communications Building in East Ginza, just past the Kabuki-za Theater. Reservations are recommended. Despite being a weekday, the restaurant was almost full.
Special Course:
- Today's Starter with Caviar: Tuna tartare with caviar, seasoned perfectly with salt.
- Chef's Special Pick for Today: A seasonal cold corn soup served in Royal Copenhagen crockery.
- Special Teppan Dish: Steamed sea bass on a teppan with a refreshing butter sauce.
- Japanese Spiny Lobster: Grilled with herbs and served with orange and butter sauce, perfectly cooked and tender.
- Best Quality Beef Steak: A Matsusaka sirloin steak cooked to perfection, with a texture similar to fillet, served with finely chopped onions.
- Meal: Choice of garlic rice or cold soba noodles (we also ordered the soba noodles, which had a gentle broth with finely diced onions, scallions, and kabosu citrus).
- Dessert: Choose from 4 options. We opted for the firm and delicious pudding served with coffee and a finger-dessert.
The restaurant has a great ambiance with a mix of Taisho-era decor and furnishings, although personal preferences may vary. The hospitality was exceptional, with each party having a dedicated floor staff for attentive service. We dined at the main counter this time, enjoying conversations with the teppan chef which added to the experience. The elegant tableware, including Royal Copenhagen and Meissen pieces, added to the luxurious feel. The dessert was served in a separate cafe space, with a birthday plate and a rose as a gift. Overall, it's a special and luxurious restaurant, perfect for celebrating special occasions without the need for a strict dress code. A place where you can truly indulge and have a memorable dining experience.

First visit. Had a long-awaited lunch at Ukai-tei. Every dish from start to finish was of excellent quality, and dining in such a lovely space made the lunch experience exceptional. Ukai-tei lives up to its reputation, leaving me wanting to go back again and again. I would love to visit for dinner next time, even outside of Ginza. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The atmosphere of the restaurant is always great whenever I visit. It is a reliable place for entertaining clients. The meat portion was 70g with only 4 slices as the main dish. I wish they would serve at least 80g for a steak at a teppanyaki restaurant. The men felt like it wasn't enough. I was nervous as it was a business dinner. It was disappointing that the garlic rice came out at the beginning of the meal and the pickles and miso soup came out towards the end. It didn't feel like the usual Ukai-tei experience.

It's been a while since I last visited Ukai-tei near Higashi Ginza Station. The entrance was unique, and after waiting on the sofa, I had a business dinner with 4 colleagues. We started with beer and then switched to wine to accompany the delicious dishes cooked on the teppanyaki in front of us. The garlic fried rice was a perfect finish. We moved to another place for dessert and enjoyed a leisurely meal with good conversation. It's a great place to go for a celebration, although this time there was no special occasion - we were just treated to a wonderful meal.

It was my first visit to Ukai-tei. The taste was great, but the service exceeded my expectations, truly deserving of the service fee. The dining experience consisted of eating in front of the teppan for the main course, and then moving to a separate area for dessert. The seasonal corn potage served during the meal was very rich and delicious, an item that many customers come specifically for. The amount of meat on its own may not be sufficient for those looking to enjoy a hearty meat dish, but when paired with other dishes, it was just the right amount. Desserts were also available in various options to choose from, including a fluffy roll cake made to order and a mango parfait with perfectly ripe mangoes that were incredibly tasty. I would definitely like to visit again for a special celebration.

I really wanted to try Japan's top teppanyaki cuisine, so I visited for the first time. The luxurious atmosphere and the attentive service really enhanced the dining experience. Teppanyaki is not just about the food but also about the chef's performance, the explanations of the dishes, and the skillful cooking that entertained us. The meal ended in about an hour, and we were guided to the dessert seating area. The desserts were also delicious, and the comfort of the sofa seats made us linger longer than expected. It was the best! (´∀`)

@Ginza Ukai-tei!! The pinnacle of teppanyaki! I always have the best time, taste, and hospitality here, and once again, I had a wonderful time that did not disappoint! The food was incredibly delicious and satisfying. Thank you for the meal!

I splurged on a special course for my friend's birthday. It was perfect for a special dinner. The entrance, dinner, dessert, and changing floors were all luxurious services. The food also had a luxurious feel, and I felt satisfied with the amount of the course. We even received a photo gift at the end.

I visited the admired Ginza Ukai-Tei for the first time. It was a luxurious and extravagant birthday dinner where I was pampered until the very end, and it became a memorable and touching experience✨
- Abalone and Ukai Prime Beef Course ¥27,500 (Total bill was ¥33,000 per person)
I was so impressed by the abalone with rock salt steamed in seaweed butter sauce. The beef steak was also beyond words...it melted in my mouth and was incredibly delicious. The portion was just right. The cold corn potage at the end, sliding over the burnt soy sauce, and the Japanese garlic rice with the most delicious and gentle flavor were all amazing.
We moved to a sofa seat for dessert time. The melon parfait was unbelievably delicious♡ It was my friend's birthday, so I asked for a birthday plate, and the restaurant added a single rose and took a photo of us to make it into an album as a gift. It made the memory even more special.
The chef's performance was fun to watch, and I was busy feeling amazed, emotional, talking, and eating all at once. It was a night I would definitely revisit for an important anniversary. I gave a full score on Tabelog for the first time...that's how high my satisfaction and happiness were✨
Thank you for the feast✨

Teppanyaki with a spacious counter for a relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed a course meal including not only meat but also vegetables and fish, such as ginger-grilled eggplant. The course satisfied even adult Japanese guests, but seemed a little lacking for the American guests. The seating at the counter makes it a bit difficult to have conversations with people beside you. It was nice to switch seats for dessert after the meal.

First visit. Entered the restaurant at 5:30 PM. The atmosphere of this upscale Ginza establishment is truly impressive. We were shown to a private room and started with some beer. The decorations and interior design inside the restaurant are magnificent. The counter seats were already half full, and it seems that inbound tourism is also on the rise. The steak was very rare and delicious, but also quite expensive.

Abalone and steak are delicious. The abalone is steamed with rock salt and carefully wrapped in kelp. The steak is from Hokkaido sirloin, tender and matched well with wasabi soy sauce. The garlic rice was fluffy and had a delicious aroma. The counter seats about 10 people, with dim lighting creating a calm atmosphere. This restaurant was visited by President Trump and Prime Minister Abe in 2017, and I finally had the chance to visit. Surprisingly, it was not crowded, so I could also relax at a separate table for coffee.

I had the rare opportunity to be invited to Ginza Ukai-tei, and everything - the food, wine, ambiance, service - was top-notch without any flaws. Among all the dishes, the abalone steamed with rock salt was truly exceptional and can be considered the best dish of my life. Despite being a luxury ingredient, I was amazed at how the chef was able to bring out such depth of flavor, umami, and perfect texture. Each bite brought a moment of pure dining bliss. I definitely want to visit again in the future.

The other day at Ginza Ukai-tei ✨ My husband's family visited from Korea, so we all went to Ukai-tei Ginza together. There were four of us, so we were seated in a private room and were able to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace. The dishes were delicious as always, and especially the garlic rice at the end was simple yet incredibly tasty. We wanted to have seconds of dessert, but we were moved to a different area. The restaurant's interior had a retro yet luxurious feel, and my family was very pleased and we had a great time dining there! I thought the Omotesando location would be more sparkly and suitable for a date, but I love the unique atmosphere of the Ginza branch ❤️

Birthday lunch including drinks for 13,000 yen per person. The appetizer of abalone and butterbur was delicious, with the essence of the abalone itself and the surrounding broth sauce being flavorful. The carpaccio of sea bream seasoned with salt and lemon was topped with delicious mountain vegetables. Grilled white asparagus with cheese and citrus sauce was fresh and tasty. The green pea potage had a smooth texture and was served in a vibrant green Arita ware bowl. The fish dish was cooked in front of us and had a rich sauce with multiple herbs. The fish itself was tender and flavorful. The meat dish may have seemed small, but it was actually a sufficient amount. Combining the fatty part of the meat with leaf wasabi was a refreshing and delicious experience. The meal ended with garlic rice that had a subtle garlic flavor and delicious pickles. Moving to the sofa seats for dessert, the fluffy chiffon cake topped with creamy and light cream was outstanding. Sharing 5 types of tea sweets was a nice touch, and with free refills! They even had 5 types of macarons available! We wanted to try them all, but considering our stomach capacity, we sampled a few of our favorites. The birthday plate, a single rose, and the service of having a photo we took printed and put in a photo frame added to the special birthday experience. The restaurant had a very cozy atmosphere, and we would definitely like to come back for another special occasion!

I used it for my partner's birthday. The lunch course is 11,000 yen. You can receive a complimentary sparkling wine by registering on the app. There is a wide variety of non-alcoholic menu options, which is very nice. The dishes change with the seasons, and on this day, I had soybean soup and white asparagus, among others. In particular, the Thai sauté matched well with the butter sauce and was very delicious. At first, I thought the amount of meat was a bit small, but when I tasted it, it was just the right amount. As for the garlic rice, perhaps my expectations were too high, so it left no particular impression. Moving to the café area for dessert made the experience even more enjoyable. The value for money here is really good. It was a truly wonderful experience. I think it's worth it for this price. I will visit again when the season changes.

Overall, I felt that the portion size was small for the price. There were many staff members providing attentive service, but perhaps too many, leading to high costs that could be reduced by either cutting staff or lowering prices. I had a good experience with a lunch course at the Azamino branch of the same restaurant group before, as it offered a good value considering the variety, price, and atmosphere. However, the evening experience at this particular restaurant was not as impressive. The positive aspects included the stylish ambiance and the special system where each group of guests gets their own chef. The dessert served at a different table also added a special touch. The mood in the restaurant was unique, created by dim lighting and vintage sofas. The personalized chef service was a nice touch as well. Unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed with the food. While the carpaccio was decent, dishes like the edamame soup felt unnecessarily experimental and not very tasty. Other dishes like the prawn and bamboo shoot lacked balance and left me wanting more. The meat dish was delicious but small in portion. The garlic rice, a specialty, was tasty. Overall, I didn't feel satisfied for the price paid. Some may be willing to pay for the brand and ambiance, but personally, I don't see myself returning to this restaurant.

Located about a 3-minute walk from Higashi Ginza Station, this restaurant is off the main street and gives off a unique vibe from the entrance. It seems well-suited for celebrations and events. I made a reservation about 3 months in advance and visited on a Saturday. The counter seats were fully booked, so reservations are a must. We opted for the 25,000 yen Wagyu course, which included a variety of dishes such as steamed clams, soup, lobster, seasonal vegetables, steak, garlic rice or somen, dessert, and tea. The dishes had unique flavors, but lacked in portion size. Each dish had a distinct taste, and some may be acquired tastes. The lobster had a particular flavor that might not appeal to everyone. The highlight, the sirloin steak, was tender and flavorful, although the portion size was quite small. The garlic rice lacked in aroma and flavor. The dessert and tea served at the end were meticulously crafted and delicious. Overall, the restaurant has a trendy atmosphere and offers unique dishes, making it a good choice for celebrations. However, the simple enjoyment of flavors fell slightly short of expectations.

It had been a while since I visited the famous Ukai-tei in Ginza, which is known for being the only location in Tokyo. We tried the special course with delicious meat ranging from Ukai beef to Matsusaka beef, and everything was incredibly tasty. Ukai-tei not only serves delicious food, but I also love the atmosphere at all their locations. Next, I want to try visiting their store in Kanagawa area.

The hospitality was outstanding. Ordered steak lunch for ¥11,000, draft beer for ¥1,100, glass of white wine for ¥1,980, and glass of red wine for ¥1,980. We visited for our wedding anniversary. We were guided to a private room and given a plate and a single rose as a service. Even though we didn't specifically request the rose, the restaurant kindly provided it. We entered with a stroller, but they prepared a private room for us, allowing us to enjoy our meal without worrying about the surroundings. The quality of each dish was high, and we enjoyed the course while feeling the arrival of spring. Everything was delicious, and the drinks went down smoothly. The staff worked meticulously. For dessert, we were guided to a café space, which had a retro atmosphere and was very nice. Note that we made reservations two months in advance, so be mindful of that. We hope to visit again for another special occasion.
