I was taken to this restaurant by my boss for my birthday ☺︎ It was actually my first time visiting a motsunabe (tripe hot pot) restaurant. I was a bit worried because I'm not a fan of fatty meat and it was my first time trying motsu, but when I tried it based on the recommendation of my boss, I was surprised by how delicious it was! The richness and umami spread smoothly in my mouth and it was amazing! The soup was also super tasty, I could eat it endlessly. For the finale, we had zosui (rice porridge). I'm grateful to my boss ☺︎♡ I have visited this restaurant a few times since then, but reservations are a must. The atmosphere inside is lively and the tables are quite close together, so it may be a bit too lively for a first date. It's a motsunabe restaurant where you can enjoy eating with people you are close with ♡ If you're unsure, it's definitely recommended to try it out! \(^o^)/

The Fukuoka-based motsunabe restaurant's Tokyo branch is located in a prime spot in Aoyama. The prices are reasonable for the location. The motsunabe is delicious with a satisfying portion. The closing dish, including cheese, is unique and enjoyable. Seasonal dishes like eggplant were also tasty.

Eating motsunabe at a proper restaurant for the first time, I was impressed by how delicious it was! It was so tasty that I ended up having a second round of hot pot. The motsu had no unpleasant smell and was really delicious. The broth was not too greasy, and I enjoyed it until the end. We also ordered side dishes like simmered beef tendon and smashed cucumbers, and they were all delicious. The only downside was that it took quite a long time, especially since it was a Friday night. From placing the order to getting the first round of motsunabe, it took a while. Even after finishing all the side dishes we ordered, the motsunabe was still not served, and we had to ask about it. Despite the wait, the motsunabe was so good that I occasionally find myself craving it, and I would like to visit again!

I wanted to eat the food from this restaurant. I went to Hakata a few days ago, but I was too busy to fully enjoy the food. My mind was still stuck on Kyushu and Hakata cuisine, so I decided to visit this place. It happened to be a day when a heavy rain warning was issued, so the restaurant was empty and I could relax. There were bamboo blinds between tables, so I didn't have to worry about the people next to me. The staff seemed relaxed and provided excellent service. The BGM in the restaurant was an interesting choice, playing J-POP from the 80s and 90s. I really liked it. The food was all delicious. Some of the highlights were: - Shiitake mushroom and shrimp shinjo tempura: the shinjo was fluffy. - Motsu simmered in mentaiko sauce: the motsu and mentaiko were perfectly balanced. - Motsu nabe with yamaimo porridge as the finishing touch: the porridge was so delicious, unlike anything I've had before. I would come back just for this. - Black pork dumplings: rich in flavor, with a good balance between the filling and the skin. I wish they had served it with yuzu kosho. - Deep-fried chicken: tender and juicy, with crispy skin and a well-seasoned but not overpowering taste. It was so well-balanced that I thought if I fed this to a child, they would stop eating my fried chicken. - Sesame amberjack, smashed cucumber, asparagus and scallop shinjo wrapped in yuba, marbled horse sashimi, cherry yukhoe, eringi mushroom and pork belly roll, beef tendon stew. I was satisfied with everything. The only thing I missed was yuzu kosho. That's about it. Thank you for the meal.

When you want to eat delicious motsunabe, this restaurant is a great choice. I have been to the Ikebukuro branch before, but I prefer the atmosphere of this one. So this time, I chose the Aoyama branch for a summer motsu girls' night out! We started with a beer for ¥750 and a squid okra appetizer to cheers! The squid okra is surprisingly delicious! The sticky texture is amazing - I get excited when the appetizers at a restaurant are good. We then ordered the must-have dish, motsu simmered in spicy cod roe for ¥1080. I wanted to order one serving per person, but since my friends were new to this place, I decided to wait and see. However, they both loved it so much that we ended up ordering another serving. It's so soft and delicious that I highly recommend it to everyone! For the main dish, we ordered two servings of motsunabe for ¥1580 each, and also decided to try a few other items. The corn and deep-fried cake for ¥800 was sweet and crispy, and very tasty! There was also a seasonal recommendation of tofu skin wrapped in fried fish cake, which was incredibly delicious! I forgot to take note of the prices, but the inside was like mashed taro and had a flavor I love! I would definitely want to try it again next time if it's available. And finally, the long-awaited motsunabe arrived! Even though we ordered two servings, it was more than enough. Itadakimasu! We chose a soy sauce flavor, but I don't think I've ever tried miso flavor here. Maybe I'll go for miso flavor next time, but I might stick with soy sauce again haha. The vegetables and motsu were firm and satisfying, fulfilling my cravings for offal. We quickly finished all the ingredients, and decided to try the yam porridge set for the first time for ¥700. It was a big hit too! In the past, I used to add more ingredients (mostly motsu) and end up too full to order a last dish, but now I realize how wasteful that was. The porridge effortlessly filled my somewhat full stomach. It was so gentle and delicious... I wonder if the cheese porridge is good too. I might even want to add cheese to this grated yam. I reaffirmed that it's a waste not to eat the final dish when having motsunabe (better late than never), and left the restaurant with a full stomach that day. Thank you for the meal!

I have been curious about this motsunabe restaurant for a while. It's located in a basement in a back alley not far from Omotesando Station, so it's easy to miss, but the motsunabe is really delicious. They also have a wide selection of sweet potato shochu, allowing you to fully enjoy Hakata cuisine. The yukke, black pork gyoza, and other side dishes are also excellent. Highly recommended!

Visited on a public holiday night. I thought it might not be crowded since it was a holiday, but it was almost full, so I'm glad I made a reservation. - Appetizer (Squid Okura): I was happy because I like sticky textures. I wonder if the squid is directly delivered from Nagahama Market? - Vinegar Motsu (Offal): It had a strong sour taste. Surprisingly, the portion was generous, and I hesitated whether to order another dish, but it was enough. - Motsu Nabe (Soy Sauce flavor): The flavor and richness of the broth were perfect! It was my favorite taste in Tokyo, and I even finished all the soup (laughs). It was my first time having motsu nabe with shiitake mushrooms, and it goes well with soy sauce. - Champon: When I tried to order two servings, the staff informed me that the portion was slightly larger, so I ordered one serving. The portion was just right in the end. It's not the pre-cooked type, but the raw noodles were cooked for 3 minutes to complete. The champon was delicious with the flavor of the motsu nabe soup soaked in well. I ordered one drink and it cost less than 4000 yen per person. The cost performance and taste were both good, and I would like to visit again.

The store is a bit small and not very stylish, but aside from that, the taste and cost performance are quite good. I didn't have high expectations when I entered, but I was pleasantly surprised by the appetizer. As expected, the motsunabe, ebi shinjo, and other dishes were delicious!

I visited the recommended delicious motsunabe restaurant "Yamakasa" with a friend. Yamakasa has locations in Kagurazaka, Ikebukuro, and here in Omotesando. The Omotesando location is located underground on the 1st floor, a short walk from Omotesando towards Shibuya on Route 246. As we descended the stairs, we found counter and table seating. We opted for the counter seats. Despite the current situation, the restaurant was about half full. The counter seats are usually close together, but this time they were spacious.
- Nikka highball was around 500 yen
- Appetizer: Squid and okra salad
- Motsu (offal) simmered in mentaiko sauce for 1080 yen
We decided to try the recommended horse sashimi and motsu simmered in mentaiko sauce. The motsu was perfectly coated in mentaiko, giving it a delicious flavor without any unpleasant smell. It went really well with alcohol!
- Motsunabe: 1 serving for 1580 yen (you can choose miso or soy sauce flavor)
We chose soy sauce flavor as it comes with yamaimo (Japanese mountain yam) porridge as the finishing dish. The nabe (hot pot) comes with white motsu, leeks, cabbage, thinly sliced burdock, and chili peppers. Once it started boiling, we dug in before the motsu shrunk. The soy sauce broth was quite light and easy to drink, and the motsu was really tender. There was a generous amount of cabbage at the bottom of the pot, enhancing the sweetness of the broth.
Towards the end, we were quite full.
- Finishing dish: Yamaimo porridge
The finishing dish for motsunabe is often champon, but this restaurant serves yamaimo porridge. A full bowl of rice is added to the pot, along with grated egg and yamaimo. The final touch of green onions made it incredibly delicious. It was light, creamy, and perfectly mixed.
- Special Ginger Sour
The total bill for two people was in the 8000 yen range. For a girls' night out with four or more people, there's a course that includes motsunabe and all-you-can-drink for 4500 yen per person. I would like to try the miso flavor next time, which comes with cheese porridge as the finishing dish.

Yasaka, a Hakata-style motsunabe restaurant in Omotesando, is about a 7-minute walk from Omotesando Station. Three girls casually stopped by and were lucky enough to get a table. The first photo shows motsunabe in soy sauce base, and the second photo shows drool-worthy chicken motsunabe. The flavors were rich and satisfying until the end. The portion size was just right for two out of the three girls. They also had a wide variety of sake options, although they didn't try any this time, they are looking forward to trying different kinds next time they visit.

This is my second visit to Yamasakasa! The motsu nabe here is amazing, with the motsu being fatty but not too heavy, just beautifully delicious! The tofu is also silky, and there seems to be something inside, maybe yuzu pepper? It adds a refreshing kick to the dish, making it super tasty. The horse sashimi is also top-notch, light and refreshing. Sometimes it comes out too cold, but that's easily fixed by Miffy's zipper-mouth (・ⅹ・)lol

⭐️First time visiting! Women's party course with all-you-can-drink for 4950 yen (tax included). ⭐️Located 1-2 minutes from Omotesando Station B2 exit. Just 2 blocks away from AO Building. Great access! ⭐️The 3 types of appetizers were very delicious. ⭐️The motsu hot pot and the cheese risotto for the finishing touch were also delicious. Overall, the food was great, but considering the cost performance, I would rather try other restaurants than go back here.

I felt like having motsunabe, so I went to Yamasaka in Omotesando. Today I chose the soy sauce flavor. It was light and refreshing until the end. The motsu was juicy and there was plenty of cabbage. I wished they had yuzu pepper for the soy sauce flavor. Unfortunately, adding more soup costs extra. When ordering three servings, the vegetables absorb the soup and there is none left towards the end, which is a bit sad. The side dish of deep-fried leeks with chili oil could be easier to eat. Even so, it was packed by 7 PM. Truly a popular restaurant!

On a cold Saturday night, feeling a sudden craving for hot pot, I decided to visit this restaurant with a friend as we were able to secure a reservation. Upon entering, I noticed that the majority of the customers appeared to be young college students, giving the place a casual and inexpensive izakaya-like atmosphere. We ordered a few small dishes and the soy sauce motsu (offal) hot pot. As someone who can judge a restaurant based on its appetizers, I was looking forward to the meal, but overall, it was just average. The vinegar motsu was fresh and decent, but nothing particularly impressive, and the motsu hot pot was the same. My gourmet companion and I quietly enjoyed our meal and returned home. There is a motsu hot pot course with all-you-can-drink option for 4,500 yen, which I think would be ideal for students.

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant at 5:00 PM on Saturday. I sat at the counter seat. The appetizer was okra and squid. The slimy texture of okra and the chewy texture of squid complement each other well and taste delicious. I ordered a salad with dried baby sardines and tofu. The fresh vegetables and Japanese dressing go well together. For side dishes, I ordered fried tofu with green onions and simmered beef tendon. The fried tofu is packed with green onions and the beef tendon is cooked just right, not too strong in flavor. For the main dish, I ordered tripe hot pot (soy sauce flavor). The tripe is chewy and tasty. The soy sauce-based broth evolves into a rich and flavorful taste after simmering with the tripe and vegetables. For the finale, I ordered yam rice porridge, which comes with an egg. I ordered one serving, which was just the right amount for two people. The yam-based porridge was surprisingly delicious. The staff were polite and made the dining experience enjoyable. I will definitely come back for the tripe hot pot.

Omotesando. Aoyama-dori 246. A shop in the basement of a building. It opens early and stays open late. The interior is not very spacious. Smoking is allowed in all seats. A specialty shop for motsu (offal). The plump black-haired wagyu (intestines) motsu had a unique taste without any unpleasant smell or bitterness, it felt like it was properly prepared. We ordered a lot, and everything was delicious. Unfortunately, we couldn't finish everything. The horse sashimi yukke is also delicious. Thank you for the feast.

When walking from Omotesando towards Shibuya, you will come across a famous motsunabe restaurant! The restaurant is located underground. They serve "Okra Ohitashi" as an appetizer, which is perfect before enjoying motsunabe. The vinegar motsu, with its crunchy texture, served with onions and ponzu sauce, is refreshing and delicious. The "Motsu with mentaiko" dish, with collagen-rich chewy motsu and flavorful mentaiko, is absolutely amazing. For motsunabe, they offer two types of broth: miso and soy sauce. This time, I chose soy sauce. The motsunabe that arrived was shining with fresh motsu. With every bite, the motsu melted in my mouth. For the finale, I debated between Champon noodles and zosui, but ended up choosing zosui. The rice soaked in the richly flavored soup was incredibly delicious. At the counter, there is a variety of shochu lined up, including high-end brands like Morioh and Murao. This restaurant ranks high in motsunabe rankings, so it's always crowded. It's best to make a reservation in advance.

The yuzu pepper tofu was fresh and very delicious! I haven't had miso-flavored motsunabe much before, but it was tasty! I want to go again! Next time, I want to try the soy sauce flavor. Also, I had champon noodles for the finish, but next time I want to try zosui. The taste was good, but unfortunately, it was crowded on Friday and the drinks and vegetables we ordered took a while to arrive, so I have to give this score.

We visited this restaurant on a regular night with two people. We were craving for motsunabe and decided to try a different place after finding the nearby one just okay. We arrived at this restaurant located a few minutes' walk from Omotesando Station. The interior had counter seats and table seats, with mostly female staff and customers. We started with drinks and appetizers, then ordered motsunabe while enjoying vinegar motsu and motsu mentaiko as snacks. The quality of motsu here was different from others, with no unpleasant odor and a delicate texture. The motsunabe did not disappoint, with soy sauce and miso bases available. I personally prefer soy sauce base, but both options are good. The motsu lived up to our expectations, and we savored the delightful combination of soup's saltiness and the motsu's umami and sweetness. I would love to come back for more. Thank you for the meal!

I really wanted to eat motsunabe on this day! I searched on my smartphone and found several places in Omotesando and Shibuya, but couldn't make a reservation. Luckily, I was able to secure a reservation here. Thank you! Before the nabe, I tried the motsu mentaiko and it was incredibly delicious! I had high expectations for the motsunabe and it did not disappoint. The fried tofu had holes in it, allowing the nabe broth to seep in, making the tofu also very tasty. Overall, the motsunabe was amazing! Ossu ossu!
