I visited Ura Omotesando Garden after a long time. It's a food court with a Japanese theme, located in a renovated old house. The last time I visited was in 2017... time flies. The three stores, Kochira, Amaam Club, and Riz Labo Kitchen, remain unchanged. On this Saturday, my plan was to visit two dessert shops - one for Mont Blanc that my friend wanted to go to, and the other for cakes that I wanted to go to. However, the Mont Blanc shop my friend wanted to visit had a limited-time menu that had already ended. So, we went to the cake shop I wanted to visit first, and then headed to Ura Omotesando Garden. It was the only shop in the area that I hadn't visited before, and since it was a tea shop, I thought the desserts might be refreshing. We arrived around 2 pm and surprisingly found Mont Blanc available, including matcha, hojicha, and chestnut flavors. Oh, I just remembered that the shop my friend wanted to visit was also a tea shop. In hindsight, I should have ordered the tea-flavored Mont Blanc. But, I decided to go with the chestnut flavor first. The Mont Blanc came with a drink and cost 1,320 yen each. After placing our order, we were seated in a corner that seemed to have been occupied by another shop in the past. Coincidentally, it was the same spot where I sat during my previous visit to Ura Omotesando Garden. Shortly after, we were served warm hojicha tea, which had a lovely aroma and tasted deliciously nutty. It was very soothing. Then came the Mont Blanc, where the cream was freshly squeezed on top after ordering. Unfortunately, we couldn't see the process from our distant table. The freshly squeezed cream felt fresh, but the taste was nothing extraordinary, just simply delicious. The highlight, however, was the hojicha tea, which tasted exceptionally good. My friend had the vibrant green matcha Mont Blanc. I couldn't help but think I should have ordered that too. Next time, I'll definitely try the tea-flavored Mont Blanc.
