One of the three famous "karinto" sweet shops in Tokyo, with a long history and popularity, is the renowned establishment "Tachibana" in Ginza. Known as one of the "Big Three Karinto Shops" in Tokyo, "Tachibana" has been selected as one of the top sweets shops in the years 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022, showcasing its delicious "karinto" treats. Alongside "Yushima Kagetsu" and "Kosakura," "Tachibana" holds its place as a historic karinto specialty store in Ginza, established in 1909. Although not as ancient as traditional Kyoto confections, "Tachibana" stands out in Tokyo for its over 100 years of serving delightful karinto treats. The distinctive "karinto" from "Tachibana" is only available at their flagship store in Ginza, adding to its exclusivity. Their signature packaging, adorned with a pine leaf design, adds an elegant touch that makes it a popular choice for gifts. The "karinto" treats from "Tachibana" come in two types, "Koro" and "Saeda," with "Koro" being the thicker version. Both varieties offer a rich, flavorful experience that is both simple and profound, made with only the finest ingredients and craftsmanship. The "Koro" variety, in particular, provides a satisfying crunch and a deep, honey-infused taste that is truly delicious. The pure quality and exquisite taste of "Tachibana" karinto treats make them a must-try, with a high chance of becoming a repeat purchase.

Arrived around 11:40 a.m. on Friday. No wait. The entrance and interior had a very seasoned feel to it, which made me a bit nervous, but I ordered a bag of karintou. It cost 1,000 yen. You can choose between thin and short, or thick and short, and I chose the thin one. I ate it for afternoon snack at home, and it was deliciously sweet - a classic karintou that is perfect for when you crave something sweet in the afternoon. Thank you for the meal! I will definitely go again.

Arriving at the shop with a traditional atmosphere, where the wooden doors are closed at 13:30, it's hard to see what's inside. The shop exudes a sense of history. Even before tasting them, the items I bought at this lovely shop made me feel excited. The interior is cozy, as if time has stopped. I purchased bags of "korot" and "saeda" and enjoyed them at a leisurely pace. While those who are used to crunchy kinako (soybean flour) topping on their karinto (sweet deep-fried snack) may find it lacking, I appreciated the gentle and elegant sweetness of the karinto, savoring each bite slowly. It was a delightful experience, including savoring the time spent eating them.

Karinto Tachibana, a long-established shop in Ginza, is known for their traditional Japanese fried snacks called karinto, which are popular souvenirs. They offer two types of karinto: round ones and elongated ones, available in both cans and bags. The elongated ones, known as "saeda", are slightly sweeter and seem to be more popular among my friends. These karinto are coated with sugar on the outside, giving them a glossy appearance, and they have a crispy texture that is both elegant and delicious.

◇Visit date: around 11:00 on a Saturday in September ◇Crowd level: Not crowded ◇Ordering method, speed of service: Verbal, as needed ◇Taste: "Saeda" and "Koro" in thick and thin varieties. They are sweetened but with a refined sweetness that is just right. The texture is crispy and light, not heavy at all. You can easily eat as many as you want. Delicious. ◇Prices are reasonable ◇Average customer service ◇Payment method: Cash

I visited around 11:30 on Saturday. There was one group before me, but I was able to purchase relatively quickly. I bought both canned and bagged items, including souvenirs. There was a comment saying "I didn't know karintou could be this delicious?", and it's true, it was exceptionally delicious. It has a crunchy texture and a flavor that never gets old. I would like to visit again.

It's surprising to find a famous store in Ginza 8-Chome. The karintou I imagine is usually darker, but they had both thin and thick options and I chose the thin one. It was delicious and elegant. It seems like they receive orders from all over the country. I saw many packaged karintou inside the store. Next time, I'll try the traditional ones that come in a can.

Here it is, this type of karinto is what true karinto should be like. What an elegant taste it has... It's incomparable to the karinto sold at convenience stores or supermarkets. And the fact that the store is right in the middle of Ginza's club district is surprising. It seems like they probably ship more than people who actually go to the store to buy. It was delicious.

I visited the shop at 1 pm on a weekday and found it to be smaller than I had expected. It's a store specializing in karintou, with thick and thin varieties available. I bought some as a souvenir. For personal use at home, it would be easier to purchase if there were smaller sizes available, as the quantity is quite large.

Tokyo's Karintō Gomiko is often referred to as one of the top three shops, but this is my favorite. It's common for them to be sold out even if you suddenly feel like buying one while passing by. There are both thin and thick types, but I prefer the thin ones that emphasize the sweetness. If you want to savor the true taste of karintō, go for the thicker ones. The staff at this shop have been here for a long time and they are still energetic.

Last time, I couldn't buy it because it was sold out, but this time I went for revenge around 2 pm on a weekday. There were no other customers, and I was able to buy smoothly. It was my first time trying Tachibana's karinto, and it had a gentle taste, not too sweet. I was surprised at how much I had only eaten sweet karinto until now. It has a nice crunch and once you start eating, you can't stop (laughs). They don't offer online shopping, so it's perfect as a Tokyo souvenir! I hope to visit again soon.

I purchased the crispy senbei snack from the display board. I had never tried this kind of light and easy-to-eat senbei before, and the sweetness was just right with a delicious fragrance that becomes addictive. I think this senbei would be well-received by younger generations. It's perfect for a small souvenir and highly recommended.

They sell traditional karinto at a specialty store with over 100 years of history, and they are well-known for being top-class in the confectionery department. The store is very elegant, and the karinto you buy there is completely different in sweetness compared to those sold in supermarkets! The shop is very small and usually only allows one person inside, so if there are others, you have to wait outside. When you enter the store, the owner, usually a mother figure, will ask, "Which one are you getting?" It's hard to understand for those who are not regulars. Basically, you choose between thick or thin karinto to purchase, and sometimes they sell out by the morning, so it's not a place for casual passersby. Their karinto makes for the perfect souvenir.

In the afternoon on a regular day, when I visited the shop, it was small and customers entered one by one to make a purchase inside. The shop was dimly lit, and there was an elderly person sitting at the counter handling the customers. There were two types available, "saeda" and "koro," both priced at 1,000 yen each. When I asked how they were different, I was told that they are essentially the same, but saeda has a more infused taste. In terms of appearance, koro looks distinct, but in terms of taste, saeda feels better... Both were purchased and tasted, but it was hard to decide which was better. Saeda seemed a bit more like karinto, maybe?! There wasn't a significant difference between them, haha. They would make a great gift. They are said to have an elegant sweetness, but personally, I don't like the usual brown sugar type, so I prefer this kind. Thank you for the meal (*´ω`*)

"Tachibana's karinto is truly amazing. It's a simple karinto but you can feel the craftsmanship in it. It's refined and sticks true to the original essence of karinto. Before you know it, you can't stop eating it. It's simple but you never get tired of it. The deliciousness just keeps going. Thank you for the meal."

The gentle and not too sweet flavor is very modern. However, it is said to be made using a traditional method without any additives. The taste is addictive and never gets boring, living up to its reputation as one of the top three karinto snacks. There are only two products available and only one store. I respect their integrity in not expanding to department stores.

After work, I was strolling around and happened to come across a famous Karinto (deep-fried snack) shop founded in the Meiji era. I peeped into the dimly lit shop and saw customers inside, so I decided to wait outside until they left. The shop was small with only one elderly staff member. There were only two types of Karinto available - "Saeda" which is thin and "Koro" which is thick - both cost 1,000 yen per bag. Despite the stereotype of Karinto being sticky, these were not at all. They were elegantly crafted snacks with a mild sweetness, and it feels like you could enjoy them for a lifetime. It seems they are not available at department stores or online shops, so I will make sure to buy them as souvenirs when the occasion arises.

The karinto at this famous shop is simple but delicious, with an elegant sweetness that leaves a lasting impression. While there may not be a wide variety of flavors, the crispy texture of the coating, the balance of ingredients, and the perfect amount of oil make it truly unique and a favorite among many fans.

After leaving Osasa Sushi, I noticed a few people waiting outside a charming shop, so I decided to take a peek. After researching, I found out that it is a long-established store founded in 1909 and one of the Tokyo Senbei Three Families. They do not offer online shopping, so I was drawn to the exclusive feeling and immediately made a purchase. I bought a can of "saeda," which is described as thin and crispy. As soon as I opened it at home, I noticed how the rice crackers were coated with layers of sweet syrup, giving them a beautiful shine. When I tasted it, I felt a warm sensation in my mouth! I was surprised and asked my wife, who was devouring them next to me, if she could feel it too. She confirmed it, but I wished she showed a bit more reaction while eating. It was delicious, but as someone who is not a fan of overly sweet snacks, I found it a bit too sweet for my taste.
