Hello, this is Shamu Neko from the administrative department. Today, I visited the ramen shop "Ryu no Ie" in Shinjuku. This shop is known for its tonkotsu ramen and motsu tsukemen, and it is particularly popular in the competitive ramen scene of Shinjuku. This was my first time visiting. Here are the details: - Time: Saturday night, 10 people in line - Seating: 10 counter seats - Ordering method: Purchase tickets from the machine - Menu: Tonkotsu ramen, motsu tsukemen, various toppings - Price range: Around 1000 yen - Table condiments: Bean sprouts, pickled greens, pickled ginger are complimentary, as well as shichimi spice - Specialty dish: Motsu tsukemen (special version) for 1400 yen I was particularly interested in trying the motsu tsukemen, especially the special version. The table condiments were impressive, especially the complimentary bean sprouts. You can also choose to have porridge with the remaining soup. The special motsu tsukemen was served on a plate with noodles and toppings. The soup had a rich oil film on top, giving it a thick texture. The noodles were thin for tsukemen, and they seemed to be low-hydration noodles, giving them a bland and dry impression. Personally, I didn't find the noodles to be very appealing. The soup, on the other hand, was the highlight of the dish. It was a soy sauce-based soup with plenty of fat from the motsu, creating a unique and delicious flavor. The ma-yu oil added richness and depth to the soup. Despite the bland noodles, they paired well with the flavorful soup, making the overall dish satisfying. As for the toppings, they were average overall. The way the seasoned egg was cut was a bit disappointing, and the char siu seemed cold and lacked aroma. The motsu in the soup was crunchy and not the soft type, so it's best not to have high expectations for it. I finished the meal by adding porridge to the remaining soup, creating a risotto-like dish. The soup was so delicious that the dish was naturally enjoyable, despite the average toppings. The soup was the standout element of the meal. Overall, it was a satisfying experience. Thank you for the meal. 2022, 75th bowl.

I visited Ryunoie, a popular ramen shop in Shinjuku Kotaki Bridge Street, known for its fierce competition in ramen. The shop was founded in 1999 in Kurume City, Fukuoka, specializing in tonkotsu ramen. In 2009, they opened their first Kanto branch in Shinjuku Kotaki Bridge Street. I arrived around 3 pm on a weekday and there was a line of 5 people, including many foreign tourists. I waited for about 20 minutes before being seated. I ordered the Tsukemen Motsu Nami (950 yen), which is a recommended dish with motsu (offal) in the dipping sauce. The dipping sauce contains grilled, fragrant motsu. The noodles are thick and the toppings include chashu, menma, seaweed, and green onions. After finishing the noodles, you can enjoy complimentary porridge by warming up the remaining dipping sauce in the microwave with rice. Both the tsukemen and porridge were delicious.

Tsukemen with extra toppings of motsu (tripe), regular size, with seasoned boiled egg. I used to frequent this place a lot since my student days! The name of the shop is written as "Tsunoya" but read as "Ryunoya". I arrived around 7:00 pm on a weekday and waited for about 15 minutes to get in. I dipped chewy medium-thin noodles in a rich, burnt soy sauce pork bone soup with plenty of crispy motsu. The unique and deep flavor of the soup here is irresistible! It's definitely addictive! The smoked chashu and seasoned boiled egg are also exceptional! I slurped it all up in no time. Beware of overeating the delicious spicy bean sprouts on the table. Instead of soup refills, I finished with porridge. If you're interested, definitely give it a try!

I visited this place for the first time, which had been featured in the media and had a one-hour wait line. However, I only had to wait behind 3 people and got seated in about 5 minutes. I couldn't remember which menu was introduced in the media, so I played it safe and ordered the classic tonkotsu ramen. But most people around me were eating tsukemen with motsu, which seemed to be popular. I enjoy tonkotsu ramen, so I still found it delicious. However, I don't think I would wait in line again. Next time, I will try the motsu tsukemen. By the time I left, there were about 6 people waiting in line. It was tasty. Thank you for the meal.

The ramen shop always has a long line during meal times. The shop is elevated so it's hard to see inside. I found out they are open all day and decided to go before 4 pm on a weekday. There was no line at that time. Inside, there is a counter and a few tables in the back. All the seats were taken and I had to wait outside for about 10 minutes. It was lucky that I got in when I did because the line kept growing behind me. The staff were all polite and the shop was clean. They even replaced the chopsticks for the pickled ginger on the table every time. There was no overpowering smell of tonkotsu broth. I noticed a lot of foreign customers too. I ordered the tsukemen since it was a Tokyo exclusive, while others around me ordered tonkotsu ramen. I was worried about getting full, but I ended up feeling satisfied after finishing the rice porridge and drinking all the soup. They even reheated the porridge for me. Maybe the cleanliness and hospitality are the secrets behind the long lines.

I went to Ryunoie in Shinjuku! Even though it doesn't have a very high rating on Tabelog, it's always crowded in the competitive Shinjuku area, so I was really curious about it! I went on a weekday night at 9 pm and there were about 10 people waiting in line, and it took about 45 minutes until I got my food! You line up first, and when it's almost your turn, the staff guides you to buy a meal ticket from the ticket machine inside the restaurant. After purchasing the ticket, you go back to your original position in line! I ordered the Special Motsu Tsukemen in large size and Chashu Rice. My partner ordered the Rich Flavor Special Ramen and a pudding set! The Motsu Tsukemen (most popular) had a wild taste with the flavor of grilled motsu soaked in a pork bone charred soup. The noodles had a good texture and the free porridge at the end, combined with the texture of green onions, was just right for finishing the meal! Also, eating it with the Chashu Rice helped to refresh the palate, making it easier to eat! The Rich Flavor (2nd popular) Special Ramen was a rich pork bone ramen without any disappointments! The pudding was very creamy with a rich sweetness that satisfied me until the end! The age group was on the younger side and there were many foreigners in the restaurant! Thank you for the meal!

I had a meeting in Shinjuku and after finishing the morning meeting, I finally visited Ryunoie, a popular ramen shop. Their specialty is tsukemen with motsu (offal). The broth for the tsukemen contains motsu, and the sweetness of the motsu fat combined with the charred aroma of grilled motsu creates an incredibly delicious broth. This place is actually a Fukuoka-style ramen shop, and they also offer regular Hakata-style ramen, but the original dish at the Shinjuku branch is the motsu tsukemen. After finishing the tsukemen, they recommend adding rice to the remaining broth, and it tastes amazing. I will definitely be coming back for the motsu tsukemen again. #ShinjukuGourmet #ShinjukuLunch #Shinjuku #ShinjukuRamen #ShinjukuRamenTour #ShinjukuRamenCrawl #ShinjukuRamenBattleZone #ShinjukuRamenShop #RyunoieShinjukuKotakibashidoriBranch #Tsukemen #TsukemenLover #TsukemenMotsu #TsukemenMotsuSpecial #RepeatVisitConfirmed

I had always been curious about the shop across from Nakamoto. I was prepared to wait in line on a Sunday afternoon, but there were only about 10 people ahead of me, and I waited for about 30 minutes. They even lent me an umbrella when it started drizzling. There were toppings like pickled ginger, pickled mustard greens, and bean sprouts on the table, but the noodles were so filling that I only had the bean sprouts. The flavor was great, and the dipping sauce was delicious. At the end, they added rice porridge to the remaining sauce. Even though I was full, it was so tasty that I ended up finishing it all in one go. If it was closer, I would definitely be a regular customer. I will definitely come back again.

Whenever I pass by this shop, there is always a long line. It's great for those who enjoy lining up, but I prefer to avoid it if possible. I decided to visit for the first time during a slightly awkward time, like just before the evening rush on a weekday. It was a time when the late lunch crowd had passed and it was too early for afternoon snacks, so there was no line in front of the shop and I could enter right away! I enjoyed a beer and some complimentary bean sprouts while waiting for my ramen, which was served promptly. It was a classic tonkotsu ramen from Hakata. Although I wouldn't wait in line for it, I would definitely come back to enjoy this ramen when it's not crowded.

I was lucky to be able to enter the restaurant during the first round of Ra-ka and Bakushoku Day, but even though it was 15 minutes before opening, there were about 8 groups lined up and everyone was ordering tsukemen. It's nice that you can eat as much pickled vegetables and bean sprouts as you want with the standard ramen.

The tsukemen at Antei was stable! I arrived around 11:45, but there was a line of about 10 people. I wanted to leave by 12:50 at the latest, so I nervously waited in line. It took about 30 minutes to get in. Today, there seemed to be more people eating ramen compared to usual. Maybe next time I'll try the ramen...

I was prepared for a long wait because I heard it was a popular spot, but it wasn't as crowded as I expected, so I got in relatively quickly. While waiting in line, I bought a meal ticket in advance and lined up again, so the time from sitting down to being served was not too long. The soup was a new experience for me, with the taste of grilled tonkotsu and motsu blending perfectly. I would love to go back again soon.

Appetizer: Bean sprouts, pickled vegetables Main dish: Tsukemen (dipping noodles) Dessert: Porridge This full course meal is offered in Shinjuku's competitive area for only 950 yen (regular size), which is amazing. High cost performance! How long can they keep it under three digits? The impactful tripe dipping sauce is great, but the standout is the noodles! These beautiful, smooth noodles are so good that you could eat them endlessly. The regular size portion was not enough for me.

There were a lot of foreign customers, maybe half of them were foreigners? I ordered the special tsukemen in large size. The taste was delicious, but I don't think it's worth waiting in line for. The tripe was fried, which was disappointing. I didn't need the chashu, I wanted to eat more tripe. Lastly, I had some rice porridge. Thank you for the meal!

I recently found out the true identity of a ramen shop that I had been curious about for a long time, so I went to eat there. The line was mostly young people, including many women, so I thought it was a trendy and stylish ramen shop for the modern era, but it turns out that the most popular dish is the motsu (tripe) dipping noodles. As a motsu lover, I couldn't overlook this. I didn't want to wait in line alone for a long time, so I made plans to go with a friend on the day we were going to a live show. It was a Friday evening, and luckily there was no line, so we were able to enter right away and even got a table for four in the back, which was lucky. The motsu dipping noodles were delicious and not as greasy as I had feared. I ordered the small size for 900 yen, and also tried the famous pudding for 350 yen, bringing the total dinner cost to 1250 yen. The price of 2500 yen for four dishes is quite reasonable for today's standards. The noodles were served in a small portion, but there were plenty of toppings and we also got rice porridge as a finisher, so in terms of cost performance, it's not bad for a modern ramen shop. By the way, the menu listed the noodles as 200g, but I wonder if this is the weight before or after boiling? I always wish that there was a law in the ramen industry to standardize whether the weight is listed before or after boiling. The atmosphere was typical of a ramen shop catering to young people, but there were many staff members and we were satisfied with the service as they provided the rice porridge and pudding at the right timing. The pudding, however, did not meet my expectations for the set price of 350 yen. It was good, but not as delicious as I had hoped. I would have been happier if this set was priced at 1100 yen or less. By the way, I was surprised to see many foreign customers, especially Westerners, at the restaurant. All the seats around us were occupied by foreigners. It was probably just a coincidence, but it seems that restaurants that are foreigner-friendly attract a lot of customers from abroad nowadays.

I have been going to this restaurant since it first opened in Tokyo. Now it has become so popular that there are always long lines, which is a testament to how well it is recognized in Tokyo. One of my favorite dishes since the beginning has been the tsukemen. This time, I ordered the extra-large portion, which comes with crispy motsu (offal) in the soup that adds a unique flavor. The burnt bits mixed in give the soup a black color, which is a distinctive feature. This place is one of the few that has been successful with Kyushu-style pork bone tsukemen. The noodles are also special, being flat and quite delicious. I am always satisfied when I eat here!

I visited a ramen shop that caught my attention on TV for the first time. There was a line of overseas tourists, and I had to wait for 40-50 minutes. I ordered the dipping noodles with pork. It was delicious, but what impressed me more was the "split porridge" instead of split soup.

I had been curious about this restaurant every time I passed by and saw the long line outside. Despite the average rating on Tabelog, I decided to visit to see for myself. Based on my research, the "Special Tsukemen Motsu" (1,300 yen) had high praise, so I ordered it. The presentation was impressive with a generous serving of chashu, making it worth the price. The soup was delicious with the burnt scallion oil adding a nice touch. However, I was a bit disappointed with the noodles, they seemed lacking in quality. The chashu, while visually appealing, was a bit tough and chewy. It seems that enjoying it dipped in the soup is the way to go. Interestingly, instead of a soup refill, they offer complimentary rice porridge as a finishing touch. Surprisingly, the best way to enjoy the flavorful soup might be with the porridge. Overall, I understand the restaurant's rating on Tabelog now. Pricing and ingredient quality can be tricky. It was a shame that the amazing soup didn't fully elevate the experience.

For more details, please visit the blog: https://tokyo-tabearuki.com/tatsunoya 1. What is Ramen Tatsunoya? Ramen Tatsunoya was founded in 1999 in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture. The first store is now the Tatsunoya Uetsu store. The founding members trained at the famous "Ippudo" in Hakata. As of May 2023, there are about 10 Tatsunoya stores in Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Oita, and Tokyo's Shinjuku and Oyama. The Shinjuku store has a rating of 3.55 on Tabelog, 88.622 points on Ramen DB, and 4.4 on Google Maps. I always wanted to go there but couldn't because of the long lines. Today, I only had to wait about 5 minutes to get in. Although their tsukemen is popular, I'm not a big fan, so I ordered their regular ramen "Tonkotsu Rich Flavor". The noodles were thin and straight, and the richness of the soup and toppings reminded me of Kurume ramen. I recommend it to those who enjoy a flavorful tonkotsu ramen.

I finally had the chance to try "Tsukemen Motsu," which I've been curious about for a while. I started lining up at 3:00 PM on a holiday during Golden Week, and had to wait for about 50 minutes before being served. I ordered the Tsukemen Motsu Da-Special for 1400 yen. The taste was intriguing, and I felt like I had discovered a new type of tsukemen. It wasn't too thick or heavy, and had a unique sweetness from the burnt chicken skin oil. Personally, I felt like it could use a bit more punch. If you're a fan of tsukemen, it's worth visiting to broaden your culinary horizons. Just be prepared to wait in line!
