[Ikebukuro Exploration Adventure Part 97] (Unusual Ikebukuro drinking experience. 2/2) After finishing my solo activities at "Banpaiya" for the 0th round, I arrived at the second destination, "Kaki to Nihonshu Shiki," which is the main restaurant for today. This time, I decided to visit a different Ikebukuro restaurant with my colleague, making a reservation in advance. The reservation time was 18:30. I arrived first, and soon after, my colleague arrived as well. Since the menu was predetermined as a course, we checked the drink menu and placed our orders. [Menu for Today] - Oyster Feast Course (2-hour all-you-can-drink included) A feast of domestic raw oysters and creative oyster dishes course 10 items for 5,480 yen x 2 Let's start with a cheers to a job well done! I had a highball, while my colleague had a draft beer for the cheers. The highball was quite weak, so I switched to whiskey on the rocks. This seemed to get me quite drunk! After that, I had a lemon sour, a barley soda mix, and another highball. My colleague had a draft beer, white wine, red wine, a red eye, and another draft beer. As expected, we alcohol enthusiasts enjoyed the all-you-can-drink option! [Domestic Raw Oysters Assortment] Raw oysters with their place of origin included! This marks the beginning of an oyster feast. Hyogo's Murotsu-produced oysters: incredibly sweet taste! Iwate's Kamaishi-produced oysters: very creamy flavor. We enjoyed the different flavors of these two raw oysters. Delicious! [Today's Salad] A seafood salad with sunny lettuce as the centerpiece, along with sliced onions, cherry tomatoes, seaweed, tobiko, and sashimi. The dressing was a slightly salty soy sauce-based dressing. [Oyster Oil Pickles] Oysters that have been slightly dried and then marinated in oil. The combination of the slightly spicy oil with red pepper and the concentrated umami of the oysters is delicious. [Oyster Gratin] Creamy bechamel sauce, large oysters, and crispy breadcrumbs. The oyster broth that comes out is amazing, and the gratin is delicious! [Homemade Oyster Fry] The oysters have been carefully coated in batter by hand, resulting in a flat shape rather than the usual round shape. Squeezing a little lemon, adding a pinch of salt, and taking a bite! The crispy batter and the overflowing oyster juice make for an exquisite oyster fry. [Grilled Oysters Assortment] Grilled oysters with two different seasonings. Mentaiko sauce: the combination of mentaiko and oysters is excellent! Yuzu pepper: the mild spiciness of yuzu pepper mixed with grated daikon is just right. [Oyster Hot Pot Rice] The final dish is a hot pot rice with oysters, clams, and shimeji mushrooms, similar to oyster mixed rice. The chewy rice and the salty salmon roe on top are delicious. We had a bowl at the restaurant and made onigiri with the rest to take home. [Pickled Vegetables Assortment] Pickled cucumbers and turnips, and pickled paprika. The lightly salted pickling is perfect. Turnips are a popular choice for a palate cleanser in the Ikebukuro area. [Today's Miso Soup] Miso soup with red miso, seaweed, and chopped green onions as toppings. Delicious. [Dessert] Yuzu sherbet, refreshing. [Recommended Dish] - Oyster Fry! While raw and grilled oysters are delicious, the large oyster fry was a delightful experience. [Editor's Note] - Visit Time Foodlog Score: 3.40 - Paid by card this time. - Lucky to be able to eat oysters in the middle of summer!! - Oysters always make you feel happy when you eat them. - The all-you-can-drink option was a bit lacking. - Couldn't find the title "creative oyster dishes" on the menu. - The forced feeling of the second floor, a bit cramped.
