Creamy soup curry with a rich coconut aroma and plenty of onions. The vegetable curry was delicious with just the right amount of spiciness. The fried burdock sticks were crispy and tasty. The portion size was just right, and skipping the rice was a good choice for those who eat lightly. The level of spiciness was manageable, even for those who are not used to it. Overall, a satisfying dish with delicious soup and vegetables. Would love to try different combinations from their extensive menu in the future!

On Saturday night, my friend and I visited a soup curry restaurant where you can choose the spiciness level. It was my first time trying coconut soup curry, and instead of the usual chicken, I decided to go with hormone (offal). However, the hormone was a bit tough to chew. But the fried potatoes were really delicious! I highly recommend them!

I visited for dinner and ordered the Chicken Cartilage and Double Cheese Colorful Vegetable Curry (with Natto topping, Tomato Soup, spiciness level 2, normal size rice) and Pork Vegetable Curry (with Natto topping, Tomato Soup, spiciness level 2, normal size rice). I have been to a shop in Sapporo before, but this store's curry was almost like a roux curry rather than soup curry. The taste itself was a bit salty but had a rich flavor and was easy to eat. The cartilage had a crunchy texture, while the pork was tender and fell apart with just a spoon. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The interior of the restaurant and the staff were impressive, but the taste didn't quite suit my preference. It was delicious, but not something I would crave to eat again. The staff was attentive and kept refilling our water, which was nice.

I tried vegetable soup curry with everything in it for the first time, and it was as rich in flavor as I expected. The large amount of vegetables in it was incredibly delicious. This time, it was made with coconut soup, giving it a scent similar to Tom Yum and a refreshing taste. Including the quail egg, it was pure happiness.

I visited around 6:30 pm on a holiday. Luckily, there were seats available and I didn't have to wait. Most of the seats were for two people, so it's not ideal for large groups. I ordered chicken curry, coconut soup with spice level 3, topped with asparagus, and a lassi. The coconut soup was really delicious! Instead of baby corn, lotus root topping was default on that day.

I visited for an early dinner at 5:00 PM and the restaurant was relatively empty, so we were seated quickly. I'm not a fan of very spicy food, so I usually only eat medium-spicy curry. However, for those who enjoy spicy food, there are levels of spiciness to challenge yourself with, which could be fun!

Yoshida Yoko visited a soup curry restaurant along Meiji Street in Harajuku, and I decided to go there. I ordered the Chicken Vegetable Curry with Tomato Soup, medium spicy level 2. The first bite was surprisingly tomato-flavored. As I continued eating, the spiciness became more noticeable. The combination of spices made my body warm and my nose run a bit. When I scooped from the bottom, I found corn which provided a moment of sweetness. The dish was characterized by a large amount of vegetables such as bell peppers, cauliflower, okra, asparagus, and wood ear mushrooms. The quail egg was also a cute addition. Thank you for the meal! #SheepMeal

I was taken to a soup curry restaurant by a friend who is quite particular about it, as they are from Hokkaido. Indeed, it was delicious! The spiciness was not overpowering, but it had a lingering kick that even someone like me, who isn't a fan of spicy food, enjoyed. The fact that you can choose the level of spiciness, soup, and ingredients makes the deliciousness limitless. The stylish light blue bowls were a nice touch. I even felt like getting one for myself (laughs). The interaction notebook with the staff was heartwarming.

SAMA Meiji Jingu-mae store Personally, I might like this one better! As of July 25, 2022, the Tabelog rating is 3.08. Yes, on this day, I was recording in front of Meiji Jingu again. Are you still doing that? Yes, it seems so (laughs). And the BA.5 is increasing at an incredible speed! Will there be 50,000 people just in Tokyo this week? Kanagawa is also breaking its record. Even though there is no need, I keep looking for restaurants every day, making working from home meaningless. People who are working hard are facing risks, but those who are obsessed with searching for restaurants... Your life is already over! So, I stick to my usual "takeout lunch." I arrived early, so I walked towards Harajuku. Harajuku is crowded with people... It's no wonder that the numbers keep increasing. While waiting at the signal near Takeshita Street, I found a Hokkaido soup curry specialty store! I can't not use this (laughs). Sorry for the gross Japanese m(__)m. It seems that it opened around the summer of 2018. I think it used to be a curry restaurant, but it's a completely different store now. It was a plain store called "Akasha," right? I think I used it once before. It was in 2015, I see. The place is on the 2nd floor of a building next to the Ryuno-ko 3.58, a famous Sichuan restaurant near Takeshita Street along Meiji Avenue. There was also one in Shimokitazawa, but it closed due to a fire. It's a chain store with many stores in Hokkaido, but in Tokyo, there seems to be only the Kanda store and this one. Soup curry with plenty of vegetables, gluten-free? So maybe it's better than always eating curry, right? So, the store name is "SAMA Meiji Jingu-mae store," operated by Hybrid Japan Co., Ltd. Originally, they were in the travel and communication business, but in 2004, they made a major shift in their business and opened the first "Soup Curry SAMA" store, which continues to this day. In addition to directly operated stores, they also have franchise stores, and their slogan is "Making soup curry a part of Japan's food culture!" There was a time when soup curry was a big trend, but now it seems to have calmed down, and it's a critical moment, isn't it? I climbed the stairs to the 2nd floor. When I opened the wooden door, there was a U-shaped counter and table seats. The decorative windows on the wall block the sunlight, creating a moody atmosphere even during the day. That's probably why there are many female customers and young people. It still retains the old-fashioned ethnic style. The BGM is ambient techno. Hmm, isn't it nice? However... it's quite expensive. When I mentioned takeout, the female staff explained the details to me. I had decided on the "Hamburger Curry," but it seems I have to customize various things first... That's the Hokkaido soup curry way. ① Soup choice There are 5 types of base soups to choose from, which makes it difficult to choose!! ・ Tomato soup Basic Standard ・ Coconut soup Sweetness Rich +100 yen +tax ・ Japanese-style light soup Light broth Basil ・ Shrimp soup Light Shrimp broth ・ Creamy shrimp soup Soy milk Creamy +100 yen +tax I don't like extra charges, so I'll pass!! Considering the compatibility with the hamburger, I think the basic "Tomato" is the best choice, but when I asked the female staff for advice, she recommended "Shrimp"!!? I don't think shrimp broth goes well with hamburger, but she said there is no discomfort, so as a lover of crustaceans, I have to try it! ② Curry choice ・ Chicken cartilage and double cheese with colorful vegetables curry 1,370 yen +tax ・ Bone-in frank and charred cabbage cheese curry 1,420 yen +tax ・ Ground meat-filled dumplings curry with coriander 1,420 yen +tax ・ Chicken curry 1,180 yen +tax ・ Hamburger curry 1,180 yen +tax ・ Pork curry 1,280 yen +tax ・ Vegetable curry 1,100 yen +tax ・ Keema natto curry 1,100 yen +tax ・ Chicken vegetable curry...

After attending an event near the shrine, I decided to have lunch at this restaurant for the first time. I ordered the chicken curry with tomato soup, level 15 spiciness, and added extra crispy chicken topping. It arrived in about 15 minutes, and I was a bit worried about the spiciness. I tried the soup first, and it was spicy, but still manageable. It had a nice tomato base with a good level of spiciness. However, it was not the thick soup curry I had expected; it was a bit runny. The crispy chicken topping was not as crispy as I had hoped; it was more like a regular coating. Despite that, the taste was delicious, and the portion was just right. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

When I was wandering around Harajuku last time, my friend found this place and said they wanted to come next time, so without hesitation, we visited before 12 o'clock. I ordered the Chicken Curry with Coconut Soup and Pork Topping, along with Iced Tea. The soup had a rich flavor with a refreshing herb taste, not too heavy and delicious. I chose medium spiciness, but for coconut soup, a bit more spiciness might have been better! The fried eggplant was really tasty, as well as the potatoes. The chicken leg and braised pork were tender and flavorful. I was surprised to see three blocks of braised pork for about 300 yen, I thought it would be just one serving! Next time, I might just go with the chicken leg. The lunch came with free extra rice, which was just enough. I'm curious about the shrimp cream soup too! When we arrived, the place was empty, but by the time we left, it was almost full. Thank you for the meal!

A few minutes' walk from Meiji-Jingumae Station, near the Takeshita-guchi intersection along Meiji Street, is a soup curry specialty restaurant. I visited around 6:30 pm on a weekday and there were two groups of customers ahead of me. I was seated at a table for two. The restaurant has about 20 seats including counter seats and table seats. The female staff was friendly and seemed to be working hard. They asked if I wanted to use a paper apron. Looking at the menu, there are five types of soup: Tomato, Coconut, Japanese-style, Shrimp, and Creamy Shrimp. There are around 15 types of curry, with spice levels ranging from 1 to 30, and rice portion options of small, regular, or large. There is no extra charge for any spice level, with levels 15 and above labeled as Extreme Spicy Zone, Mania Zone, Dangerous Zone, and Devilishly Spicy Zone. I ordered the Chicken Curry with Shrimp Soup, spice level 10, and regular rice. It took less than 10 minutes for the food to be served. The soup turned out to be spicier than expected. I noticed later that level 1 is medium and level 3 is spicy on the menu. The spiciness seemed to be from chili peppers, lacking in depth of spices. The shrimp flavor was there, but it was overpowered by the spiciness, lacking in umami. Also, it was unexpectedly oily with a hint of fried oil or spices, with some off-flavors and acidity. The soup portion was generous. The ingredients included chicken leg, potatoes, carrots, bell peppers, eggplant, broccoli, okra, baby corn, and quail eggs. The chicken leg, broccoli, and okra were delicious. Considering the soup portion, more vegetables would have balanced it better. The rice was 250g of firm white rice, suitable for soup curry. The bill came to 1,298 yen, and they accepted cashless payment. I left some soup uneaten. I had visited this restaurant when I lived in Sapporo and had a better impression then, but this time was disappointing. Perhaps choosing the wrong spice level had a big impact, so I would refrain from giving an overall taste and value assessment. Thank you for the meal.

I went with a friend and tried the chicken vegetable curry, shrimp soup, and challenged level 3 spiciness. As someone who enjoys spicy food, it was just right for me. The restaurant was busy and it seemed like they forgot the lotus root stuffed with meat, so they brought it out on a separate plate.

I had hamburger soup curry. I could choose the type of soup and the spiciness of the curry. I always decide to order the specialty of a new restaurant, so I chose tomato soup with medium spiciness. The first few bites were spicy, but I quickly got used to it and the warmth of the soup and the spiciness became just right. It was full of ingredients, and the hamburger was bigger than I expected and very delicious! It's close by and has multiple locations, so I plan to visit again!

Bird cartilage curry with a tomato base, priced at around 1400 yen. Quite expensive. It was my first time trying soup curry, recommended by a friend from Hokkaido. When I tried to scoop it with a spoon, the rice ended up getting mixed in with the curry, so I was torn between dumping the rice into the curry or not. The curry had lots of vegetables in it, which made it seem healthy. I thought it would be like curry udon, but it was completely different. It was more like a tomato soup. It was delicious!

Harajuku SAMA was on Uber so I was curious and went there! It seems to be a branch in Hokkaido. I had the coconut soup with a large portion of chicken leg curry, topped with burnt camembert cheese and broccoli! The flavors were rich and delicious! There was a French-sounding song playing non-stop that made me feel like I was tripping lol. Was that part of the plan? Next, I want to try the shrimp cream dish!

Please write in big letters that the number one recommendation is the coconut soup! To be honest, I prefer other soup curry restaurants if it's tomato soup, but my friend from Hokkaido told me last time that when it comes to Sama, it has to be coconut soup. When I tried it, I was so impressed by how delicious it was. Today, for the third time, I of course ordered the coconut soup. It's a must to have lemon with rice. The soup curry's quality changes 180 degrees depending on whether you squeeze lemon juice on it or not. When I lived in Hokkaido, lemon was a standard item at most places, but in Tokyo's soup curry restaurants, it's more common not to have lemon. However, Sama provided lemon juice when I asked for it. Hmm, it's delicious!

Menu: Curry with plenty of minced meat dumplings, served with coriander soup: shrimp soup Spiciness level: 20 Rice portion: regular * There were also blocks of eggplant that are not visible in the photo. Even though I usually love very spicy food, I was sweating a lot while eating this. But it was still delicious! I want to go back and eat it again. Next time, I want to try the tomato soup.笑
