This is a newly opened specialty restaurant for tantanmen noodles, where there are two types of tantanmen available - one with medicinal herb soup and the other with rich chicken white broth. The restaurant has been attracting long lines since its opening on October 26th. The opening hours are not clear, but it seems to be from around 11:30 am for lunch. I visited around 12:30 pm and had to wait for about 15 minutes before getting a seat. I ordered the rich chicken white broth tantanmen, which was flavorful and satisfying. The noodles were firm and the soup had a creamy texture with a hint of spiciness. The broth was surprisingly light despite being rich, and the chicken flavor was prominent. The portion size was generous and I left feeling satisfied. Overall, it was a delicious meal.

Located near Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Line, this restaurant is just a short walk from the popular tourist spot, Kaminarimon. It specializes in tantanmen noodles and operates on a simple system of purchasing meal tickets in advance and seating at the counter only. I visited around 2 pm on a weekday and found the place to be fully packed, indicating its popularity not just among tourists but also locals. The menu offers three types of soup: herbal, rich, and soupless (all priced at 1,000 yen including tax), as well as a premium ramen option for 1,300 yen. I opted for the herbal soup with a medium level of spiciness. The counter has about 12 seats and is managed solely by the owner. Upon being seated, I was served tea instead of water, which always adds a nice touch to dining out. The meal was served within 7 minutes of handing over the meal ticket. Along with sesame, there were various condiments like green onions, nuts, and shrimp that elevated the dining experience. The soup, despite its light base, had a rich flavor profile, and the thin noodles complemented it well. Despite the spiciness, the combination of flavorful soup and condiments made me finish the dish in no time. I would love to try a different soup base next time I'm in the area.

Rich Chicken White Soup Tantanmen "Level 1 Spicy" ... 1,100 yen Tantanmen Jukiro Jazz piano plays in the chic and clean interior, a place where you can earnestly face Tantanmen Three types of Tantanmen + Tantanmen without soup are the main menu items at this Tantanmen specialty store. Unfortunately, I have a constitution where my tongue becomes numb if it gets too spicy, so I chose Level 1 Spicy. Thanks to that, I was able to fully enjoy the rich flavor in a mild way until the end. The slightly larger nuts provided a nice accent, and the green onions and sakura shrimp mixed in the soup added color to the rich taste. It was a Tantanmen with carefully packed high-quality ingredients. I would like to try the Tantanmen without soup next time. ◆Store Information Currently rated 3.35 on Tabelog with 68 reviews. Opened in 2021. As the name suggests, this is a specialty shop for tantanmen (spicy sesame noodle soup). It used to operate as a sublease in Kita-Senju. Located at the corner of the intersection where Kaminarimon Street and Kokusai Street intersect. The nearest station is Tawaramachi Station on the subway. ◆Service and Atmosphere The interior has a counter with 9 seats, creating a cozy and chic atmosphere. It seems that the shop is mainly operated by the owner alone. The service is good in a normal way. ◆Taste I purchased the "Rich Chicken White Tantanmen (1100 yen)" from the ticket vending machine, choosing level 2 spiciness. Other noodle options include Tantanmen with medicinal herb soup, soupless Tantanmen, and premium Tantanmen. It took about 3-4 minutes from ordering to serving, and the presentation was visually appealing with a three-dimensional arrangement. Despite being labeled "Rich Chicken White," the soup was not very thick but had a rich umami flavor and great suction power. The level 2 spiciness was just right, with a perfect balance of numbness. The soup was easy to drink, with no overpowering sweetness or acidity. The homemade thin straight noodles had a rich wheat flavor, good texture, and were cooked slightly firm, which I personally enjoyed. The toppings were not particularly unusual but did not interfere with the soup, and the portion was appropriate. It was a bit disappointing that there were no condiments on the table, but it seemed to show the owner's confidence that "this tantanmen is complete as it is." ◆Overall Impression Undoubtedly a high-level bowl of tantanmen. The overall balance was impeccable, and the noodles were exceptional. The owner's sense and skill were evident in the finished product. I am curious about the medicinal herb soup and soupless options as well. I definitely want to revisit.

The stifling heat continues day after day. Instead of sightseeing, I decided to visit Toyo-kan to watch some rakugo performances. The inside of the building was cool, and as I kept going back, I started to feel like I knew some of the comedians personally, making their jokes even more enjoyable. Of course, Knights and Nezucchi were consistently funny. On this day, I sat in the front row and gave Nezucchi a prompt. He said, "I'm ready!" which made me laugh. Toyo-kan is located near Asakusa Engei Hall, within walking distance even in the hot weather. The small restaurant mostly has counter seats and was being run by a single staff member. The system involved buying food tickets and handing them over. I ordered the medicinal herb tantanmen and soupless tantanmen, which was originally my companion's choice. Personally, I found the tantanmen to be somewhat lacking, but I could sense the dedication put into it and it was still quite delicious. The restaurant had many foreign customers, likely due to its location in Asakusa.

I heard good reviews and visited for the first time. I ordered the Herbal Tan Tan Men out of the Rich Chicken White Broth Tan Tan Men, Herbal Tan Tan Men, and Soupless Tan Tan Men, and it was a delicious bowl with a soup that combined spiciness, acidity, and umami, which paired well with the homemade noodles. It would be nice if they added more alcohol options. I plan to try the Rich Chicken White Broth next, and then the Soupless version.

Inside the store, I ordered a mildly spicy ramen with a spiciness level of 0.5 because I don't like it too spicy. The rice was delicious, cooked in broth. The beef tendon stew was tender and not chewy, with a slightly salty and sweet flavor, not too heavy.

Today, I was in an ethnic mood as I rode my bike, and it reminded me of this tantanmen. I apologize for not knowing the name of the restaurant. It is made with Chichibu wheat flour and is a carefully crafted dish. The flavor is refined and delicious. Today, I had the premium tantanmen with cilantro topping. I definitely want to try other menu items next time. A must-visit again.

I recommend checking in advance as they have irregular holidays. Located a 3-minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Express line, this was my first visit to Asakusa Tokichiro at 18:55 on a weekday. There was 1 customer before me and 7 customers in 4 groups after me. The restaurant only has a unique counter with a total of 9 seats, and the second floor is where the restroom is located. I ordered the medicinal soup tantanmen with a spice level of 2 for 900 yen, and a side of barley rice for 300 yen, bringing the total to 1200 yen. They do not offer a larger portion. Recently, I've noticed more and more restaurants not offering larger portions, which can sometimes leave you feeling unsatisfied, but prioritizing the balance of the soup without focusing solely on profit is a good approach in my opinion. The food was served in about 5 minutes. The all-you-can-drink delicious tea was Kyoto hojicha. The secret to the aroma of the soup was revealed to be a mixture of Sichuan pepper, coriander, garlic, ginger, and more. The taste was described as similar to hot pot, which I found fitting. The noodles had a whole grain appearance but a noodle-like texture. Since they don't offer a larger portion, I opted for the barley rice, which paired well with the soup. The spiciness level of 2 was moderately hot, and it was a good choice to enjoy medicinal cuisine before the decrease in appetite due to the upcoming hot weather. As of May 2023, the restaurant has a rating of 3.32 on Tabelog.

Sometimes I feel like eating tantanmen, so I decided to visit this place. The interior of the restaurant is small with only a counter. There is a ticket machine where you can see the menu, and the premium tantanmen seems to be the recommended dish. I'm also curious about the chicken white broth tantanmen. Since it's my first visit, I decided to go with the recommended dish. The tantanmen that arrived had small shrimp scattered on top of the green onions. The shrimp had a nice aroma, not just your typical dried shrimp. The soup was rich with the flavor of meat miso, and the addition of shrimp flavor made it a satisfying bowl until the last drop. The noodles are made with low water content, and although I'm not sure how they differ from high water content noodles, they had a wheat-like texture that paired well with the rich soup. This time, I found the soup more delicious than the noodles. Thank you for the meal.

This place used to be a different ramen shop in the past. It is located on a corner of a main street. - Order: Spicy Medicinal Tan Tan Men x2 - 900 yen Even with a level 2 spiciness, it was quite hot. Tears were flowing, different from pollen allergies. The flavor of chili peppers and the fragrance of Sichuan pepper. The shredded leeks were crunchy and had a good texture. The noodles were thin. Nuts and small shrimp subtly smoothed out the taste. I didn't really feel any herbal medicine effects, but my metabolism definitely increased. I couldn't finish all the soup, but it was delicious.

Tantanmen Jukirou, Tokyo, Taito-ku, Kaminarimon Originally a shop that operated for lunch hours in Kitasenju, opened its physical store here in October 2021. Located at the corner where Kaminarimon Street meets Kokusai Street. The interior is chic, clean, and has a sense of cleanliness, with a one-person operation at the 8-seat counter. The basic menu consists of four types: a light and refreshing Tantanmen with medicinal herbs, a rich Tantanmen with chicken broth, a soup-less Tantanmen, and a premium Tantanmen with a spicy kick from green chili oil and Kyoto Genroku black shichimi pepper. I tried the soup-less Tantanmen with level 3 spiciness (1,000 yen). The noodles are homemade using Chichibu flour "Nourin 61". Unlike the noodles in the soup-based Tantanmen, which are thin and straight with low water content, the soup-less Tantanmen noodles are quite rare, resembling flat taliatelle pasta, with a chewy and crunchy texture and rich flavor. The sauce is based on chicken broth and is quite mild, with a hint of sweetness. You can choose the level of spiciness from 1 to 3, and I chose the spiciest level 3, but it wasn't too spicy. The mildness covers your mouth until the end. There were no condiments on the table, so it might be nice to have some for those who like it spicy. The topping with kampyo and others is quite unique. As someone who enjoys spicy food and has a high tolerance for spiciness, I didn't get addicted to it, but this elegant and mild soup-less Tantanmen seems to be well-received by everyone. There is also "Aun" across the street, so maybe you can choose between the two. I would like to try the soup-based Tantanmen next time. Thank you for the meal (^ω^)y//@ Tookichiro Tantan®️ (☆3.32)

I tried the level 3 spiciness! It was a little after 1pm on Sunday, and this was my third visit. I have been gradually increasing the spiciness level since my first visit, and this time I ordered the level 3 spicy medicinal soup tantan noodles. The spiciness has naturally increased, but I found it even more delicious than the level 1! I finished the meal while sweating profusely. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The interior and exterior of the restaurant are very beautiful. There were three types of tantanmen, but I went with the most basic "yakuzen" one. It has a nice level of spiciness and goes down smoothly. Honestly, I have no idea where this herbal flavor comes from, but it must be doing something good for my body after drinking it. I was able to finish every last drop.

When I first saw it, there was a line, but around midday, there was no line. The atmosphere of the restaurant was chic. I ordered the rich and spicy tantanmen, which was recommended. As someone who can handle spiciness, I found the level of spiciness to be just right with the mild spiciness. I think the next level of spiciness would be too much for me. The soup was on the lighter side, but still had plenty of umami flavor. I enjoyed every bit of it.

I planned to go to Asakusa Station in Tokyo and take a walk to the Skytree, but there were more people than I expected, so I decided to explore the Asakusa area and visit a Szechuan noodle shop that I had been curious about! I ordered the PREMIUM Szechuan Noodles (1300 yen) because it was the first meal of the new year, and I thought, "Let's go for the most expensive one!" The visual presentation was not like typical Szechuan noodles. There were dried shrimp on top of the green onions, which made it look very appealing! Under the soup, there was minced meat and nuts. When I tasted the soup, it wasn't too rich and the spiciness was mild, but the soup was delicious! The aftertaste had a hint of Szechuan noodles, but it was a taste I had never experienced before, making it hard to describe its deliciousness. It was described as "green chili oil style," so maybe it had a medicinal herb influence? In any case, the soup was a new experience and incredibly delicious! I'm thinking of trying the rich chicken broth Szechuan noodles next time.

Located at the end of Kaminarimon Street, on a corner lot at a crossroads, this is a prime location. After visiting Senso-ji Temple for the first time, I came across a sign for noodles made with wheat flour called Norin 61. Intrigued by the unique dish of medicinal spicy tantan noodles made with chicken broth, I decided to give it a try. I chose the level 1 spiciness at the ticket machine inside the restaurant. The complimentary Kyoto green tea was a nice touch. The broth had a fragrant and rich flavor, showing attention to detail. The first floor had about 6 counter seats and 3 additional seats, with a single staff member. I wonder if there are more seats on the second floor? The dish arrived in about 10 minutes, with dried shrimp and Sichuan pepper on top of white leeks in a flavorful soup. The noodles were also delicious. As I continued eating, I realized that it might be a matter of personal taste or my taste buds not being refined enough, but I felt that the medicinal soup could have had a bit more character. The damp nuts, lard? Egg white? Whether intentional or not, I wondered what the purpose was. If there were explanations of the medicinal benefits of the soup on the table, I might have been able to enjoy it more beyond just the taste. Thank you for the meal.

The noodles have been improved, and when I visited the restaurant for the first time to try them, they had a new texture that was firm and stood out even when mixed with the soup. The improvement was a great success! Everyone, it's definitely worth trying.

I arrived at the ramen restaurant specializing in tantanmen, Jokichirou, in Asakusa around 11:30. When I entered the restaurant, three customers were leaving, leaving only me. I took my time choosing from the ticket machine and ordered the Rich Chicken White Broth Tantanmen for 1000 yen. In less than 5 minutes, the tantanmen and barley rice arrived. The soup was rich and fragrant, and the noodles were deliciously tangled. The spiciness was not too strong as I followed the restaurant's recommendation of level 1, which matched well with the barley rice. I enjoyed the meal until the end.

The shop at the intersection with Kokusai Street has always caught my eye. I was torn on what to order, but I ended up choosing the rich chicken white broth tantanmen with an additional side of barley rice cooked in broth. The thin noodles of the tantanmen paired perfectly with the elegant and rich soup. The tantanmen was delicious, but the barley rice was exceptional! I can't wait to try the herbal soup next time.

On a regular weekday around 12:30 PM, the restaurant was almost full. I purchased my meal ticket from the ticket machine. I ordered the Rich Chicken White Broth Tantanmen (2 spiciness level) for 1,000 yen and the Beef Tendon Stew for 350 yen. The owner, who was managing both the kitchen and the dining area alone, served the food surprisingly quickly. I didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes. The Beef Tendon Stew was meant to be a topping for the Tantanmen, but it turned out to be a separate dish with a soy sauce-based flavor that was very delicious. The Tantanmen had a mild touch of nuts and sesame, with a light hint of shrimp fragrance. The noodles were thin and straight, similar to Nagahama Ramen. The 2 spiciness level was a bit spicy, so they recommended trying it at 1 spiciness level for those not used to spicy food. Overall, it was a flavor that even Japanese people unfamiliar with spices could enjoy.
