I visited this new shop and tried the seasonal cherry blossom soda and the prosciutto and arugula toast. The cherry blossom soda was less sweet than I expected, with the carbonation being the most prominent flavor. It might be better to go for a regular fruit tea instead. My friend who had the fruit tea said it was very delicious. The prosciutto and arugula toast had a decent taste, but it was difficult to eat... We were given a knife and fork, but they couldn't cut through it at all. Since it's not a sandwich but a toast, we ended up having to bite into it, and when we did, the arugula kept falling off... I wish it was a bit easier to eat.

A little while ago, I visited a new Taiwanese tea specialty store called "果茶果酒 (La TREE)" located about a 6-minute walk from Harajuku Station and a 3-minute walk from Meiji-jingumae Station. It's nice to be able to enjoy Taiwanese tea in the midst of the increasing Korean influence in Harajuku. Located right off Meiji Street, near the Takeshita exit signal, it's easy to find as you approach Urahara. On this day, I opted for the Chocolate Toast Strawberry & Chocolate Crunch (650 yen) and the Fruit Cocktail Island Time (1,000 yen) for a light lunch. Although it's a Taiwanese tea specialty store, I'm a loyal fan of alcohol, so I chose that without hesitation. However, with plenty of fruit, I was able to enjoy it like a smoothie. The Chocolate Toast with its crunchy texture and the perfect balance of sweet and sour strawberries is an outstanding dish! The taste is great and the interior of the store is cute, but it seemed like it's not very well-known yet. It was empty throughout my visit. A great place to remember for when you're in need of a cafe refuge.

Harajuku on New Year's Day is surprisingly crowded. Even if you avoid New Year's Day, there are still a lot of people... Feeling tired from the crowds, I went to the super Instagrammable cafe, LaTree Fruit Tea Liquor. When I visited before, the Christmas decorations inside were very cute, but now on the first floor, it's decorated for New Year's. They had a special New Year's limited edition drink called "Lucky Strawberry." I ordered it and went up to the second floor... The spacious area was calm and quiet, completely different from the hustle and bustle outside. Couples and groups of girls were relaxing in the open space. The fruit tea here is made with authentic Taiwanese Sun Moon Lake black tea, and it's filled with lots of strawberries, apples, and nata de coco. On top, there's cheese foam, beautifully cut strawberries that look like flowers, cookies, and gold powder, making it look very luxurious! It felt like a good omen. It was incredibly delicious. You order on the 1st floor and eat on the 2nd floor in the eat-in space. The cafe has a stylish and woody decor. By the way, in the lyrics of Akiko Yano's masterpiece "While Listening to Olivia," it says "Jasmine tea is a sleep-inducing drug," but in reality, tea contains a large amount of caffeine and can actually make you unable to sleep.

The apple chunks in it were delicious. The Strawberry & Choco Crunch Toast had a strong strawberry scent, but it was easy to eat as the bread had a cut in it for easy folding. The combination of strawberry and chocolate was great. A cute cafe with Instagram-worthy toast and tasty drinks, popular among young people.

Depending on the type of drink, you can adjust the sweetness, amount of ice, and add toppings like nata de coco or coffee jelly. This time, I chose no sweetness and less ice! The Honey Fragrant Oolong Tea had a subtly sweet and soft aroma, making it very easy to drink. You can also choose between hot and iced options. I visited on a weekday and it was not crowded, so it might be a hidden gem...?

It was surprisingly quiet on the weekend during the day, considering the location. I was able to relax a lot. The drinks were delicious, so I want to come back again.

It's a great place to drop by for a calm café experience in Harajuku. It's much less crowded than Starbucks.
