Hong Kong Zanji Tea Restaurant...!! It has opened in Akasaka Mitsuke... how wonderful!! In the past, during the era of LCC boom and when HK Express was thriving... yes, just a few years ago, even someone like me who was poor and had shallow knowledge of Hong Kong could easily afford to go there. However, now it has become a difficult time. The beloved atmosphere of Hong Kong that was once so close to us. And for many Hong Kong enthusiasts, I believe that one of the charms of Hong Kong is the tea restaurants. Cha Chaan Teng... it's like a simple explanation of a café or a small restaurant. I hesitate to explain it to Japanese people, but these tea restaurants scattered throughout the city are one of the irresistible charms of Hong Kong, and I, too, fell in love with Hong Kong because of them. There are many people who have lived in Hong Kong for many years or have visited for many decades, but rather than discussing what the real Hong Kong is like or the history of Hong Kong... I hope that many people can enjoy the goodness and fun of Hong Kong tea restaurants. It opened last month, but for some reason it was not listed on Tabelog, so I, as a lover of Hong Kong, will leave a memo. It is located 2-3 minutes from Akasaka Mitsuke. You can take a leisurely walk around the large shrine and come here slowly, or it's also good to have a drink in Akasaka TBS area and come here. As you walk down a small alley, you will see the sign of the tea restaurant shining brightly in red. Manbo, during the time of infection prevention measures, the business hours are until 19:30 LO on Saturdays and the store closes at 20:00. There are also the characters "粥" at the entrance of the store, so maybe the business hours change in the morning. While being drawn to the porridge, I had already visited other restaurants that day, so I decided to use it for dessert. I sat at a table near the kitchen, where steam was billowing, and the table seats were tightly arranged in a small space typical of a local tea restaurant, which I liked. Furthermore, looking at the floors above this building, the design of the balcony or railing was also cute. I like this kind of place, so I almost thought it would be worth reconsidering if the outdoor unit was displayed on the exterior wall. I was in a state of mind where I could feel "Hong Kong" so much. I sat down at a table near the kitchen, and since there was a little time left until LO, I ordered Hong Kong-style milk tea and shrimp rice noodle rolls, as well as the pineapple bun with plenty of butter. Just looking at the menu made my eyes sparkle and shine, saying "Aahhh! I want to eat this too!!" The pineapple bun from Hong Kong and the simple sandwiches are irresistible. When I first went to Hong Kong, I went to the Kwun Hing Ice Room in Sham Shui Po, and the first thing I ate was a sandwich and macaroni soup... it's a nostalgic feeling. There are also many types of Hong Kong-style French toast. There is Hong Kong-style toast... with peanut butter or condensed milk. There is also Western toast... tears. My friend said he was already full, so he ordered the milk tea with a lot of lemon slices and the egg tart. The rice noodle rolls arrived quickly. This is it... a rice noodle roll that spreads out on an oval plate. Ah, why didn't I come here when I was more hungry. I wanted to try all the varieties. But even though it had been hundreds of years since I had eaten a pineapple bun and a milk tea with condensed milk, I was truly moved to tears, savoring the taste of thick butter and trans fats. I chewed on it and vowed in my heart that after the corona crisis, I would definitely go to Hong Kong. My friend was happy with the Hong Kong-style lemon tea that had a lot of lemon in it, saying that once you drink it, you can't go back to Japanese lemon tea. Oh, I miss it. Beloved Hong Kong style. Even though we are far apart now, I would be truly grateful if they opened one here in Akasaka... In recent years, there have been tea restaurants in Iidabashi, Kichijoji, and a little while ago, there was one a short walk from Shibuya... Each one seemed a bit far from the station to me and I thought it was too far.
