Many people first heard of this famous ramen shop through their cup ramen, which has several locations in and around Tokyo. The first store was opened in Ebisu, and it's quite impressive to think that this is where it all started for Afuri. I visited at night, so there was no line, and I was able to enter smoothly. The restaurant had a high-tech feel with touch panel ticket machines for ordering. Cash is not accepted, only cashless payments like credit cards, QR codes, or transportation IC cards. The interior was stylish with dim lighting, catering to the young crowd in the trendy Ebisu area. I ordered the Yuzu Shio Ramen, which had a tangy saltiness from the abundant yuzu and a rich chicken + kombu + dried fish broth that was so delicious I wanted to drink it all. The noodles, made with buckwheat flour, were firm and the crispiness of the watercress added a nice touch. Afuri gets its name from the central kitchen at the foot of the Tanzawa mountain range, not from Africa. They offer unique options like konjac noodles and cater to vegans, while also focusing on health by adjusting the umami with chicken oil instead of pork fat. They also serve tsukemen and spicy ramen, so I will definitely be coming back.

I ordered the Yuzu Salt Ramen with thin noodles, but it was quite ordinary in taste with no distinctive features. I found it to be a bit pricey. I don't plan on going back. I visited around 5 pm and there were only about 4 people in the restaurant.

I was surprised to see more female customers even though the restaurant only had counter seats. Based on a recommendation from a friend, I tried the Yuzu Tsukemen. It was refreshing and unlike anything I've tasted before. The regular size wasn't enough for me (I have a big appetite), so next time I'll go for the large size. Thank you for the meal.

I had high expectations when I tried the Yuzu-flavored cup ramen, but the yuzu scent was disappointingly weak compared to regular cup ramen. The seared pork slices were only cooked on one side, even though I saw them being seared on both sides at the counter. The quality of the food provided was so low that it left me feeling bewildered.

It was crowded on a late Sunday evening, and the two staff members seemed very busy. The noodles were thin like somen noodles. The chashu was slightly tough. The soup was light and delicious. The chashu rice bowl was great with seaweed and grated radish. ✨

I stopped by a ramen shop that was open late after a night out. There were only a few customers so I was seated quickly. The ramen had a refreshing taste and I finished it quickly. I was a little tipsy so I don't remember the exact taste, but I remember it being delicious. Sorry.

I visited the restaurant after a long time around 2 am and ordered the reliable yuzu salt ramen. The price was a bit higher, but the taste was reliably delicious, and I finished all the light soup!! Also, the chashu was very tender and incredibly tasty!!

In Ebisu, Tokyo, there is a popular menu item called Afuri's Yuzu Shio Ramen and Korochā Meshi cup noodles. Yuzu seems to be Afuri's specialty and it paired well with the salt ramen. The soy sauce ramen that the person next to me was eating also looked delicious, so I want to try it next time. Tokyo is expensive, haha.

Good points: 20th-anniversary commemorative Otsuka-san voice ticket machine, limited ramen that makes you finish the soup completely (even if you usually leave some), the best taste that includes rice in the bowl, high turnover rate, many staff members, diverse menu, air conditioning, open until morning, fully cashless payment.

Around 19:00 on a regular day. I was drawn in because I could get in right away... The yuzu flavor was amazing, and the noodles were thin and firm. It was perfect for a light meal after work! Also, the chashu was delicious.

I visited Ranch with my friends!!! Embarrassingly, I didn't know the name Afuri, but I was surprised to learn that it's also in cup ramen! I was torn between the cold ramen, but decided to go with the hot ramen! The Yuzu Shio Ramen was refreshing and delicious✨.

I visited a ramen shop that was open late at night. It was past 11 PM but there were still a lot of people. The ticket machine had a funny voice which was entertaining. I ordered the soy sauce ramen. The thin noodles were very delicious, and I really liked the rich flavor. I want to try the tsukemen next time. The service was also quick.

Ramen in the morning! After drinking all night, I just had to eat some. It was light and I even finished the soup! The chashu was delicious too. Even women can eat it up easily! By the way, they don't accept cash here. It's cashless with credit cards, transportation IC cards, QR codes, and touch payments.

I went to AFURI in Ebisu. Luckily, I didn't have to wait in line and got in right away. But soon after, groups of 3 and 5 people arrived, and a line started to form. Since it was getting hot, I decided to go with the chilled yuzu salt noodles. It's been a while since I've been to AFURI, and it was delicious. The strong scent of yuzu, slightly firm straight noodles, and refreshing soup. But maybe it was still too early for chilled noodles... It might taste even better in the middle of summer.

I visited after a long time and found that the shop had become completely cashless. Almost all payment methods seem to be accepted. I usually go for the yuzu salt ramen, but today I tried the shiso-flavored plum salt ramen with a flavored egg topping, as I was feeling the heat. The large, slightly sweet and soft plum and shiso leaves paired well with the thin noodles. The white, beautiful chicken chashu and light soup came together elegantly, and it was very delicious. I highly recommend it for the upcoming season.

High-priced but delicious famous restaurant. A 3-minute walk from Ebisu Station. Ebisu Afuri, revisited on a weekday at 1:00. The counter-only restaurant has about 20 seats and is almost full. There are 3 staff members. The interior is stylish and clean with an Ebisu vibe. Yuzu salt ramen for 1290 yen (mild flavor), no large serving option. Rice for 250 yen. Total: 1540 yen. You can choose between clear or mild flavor for the soup. I had the clear flavor last time, so I chose the mild flavor this time. It took about 13 minutes to be served. It's delicious but still gives off a high-priced impression. The mild flavor was better than the clear flavor. The thin noodles are made of whole wheat flour. The char siu is delicious with a crispy aroma. The yuzu fragrance in the mild flavor adds a nice touch to the dish. The rice, which cannot be served in a large portion, was shiny and probably freshly cooked. The impression of being expensive remains, but I felt like I understood the restaurant as a serious ramen place a bit more. As of May 2023, the restaurant has a rating of 3.52 on Tabelog.

Yuzu salt ramen (light) soup is light and gentle on the palate, with yuzu-infused noodles that soak up the flavor with each bite, becoming addictive! When in Ebisu, this ramen shop is a must-visit! And you can't resist ordering the seared chashu bowl too! The tender meat with the light daikon radish topping creates a perfect harmony that is truly satisfying! Thank you for the meal!

- Ordered the wonton ramen for 1,390 yen
- Can choose between soy sauce and salt flavor
- Prices in Tokyo tend to be over 1,000 yen for a regular ramen
- Slightly expensive due to its fame
- Noodles have a nice wheat flavor and are delicious
- Broth is light and easy to eat
- More of a gourmet ramen experience rather than just grabbing a quick bowl

Ebisu Station is about a 5-minute walk away, and the ramen shop is a bit hard to find at first. But once you turn off the main street, it's right there. Inside, there's a long counter and you pay with cashless food tickets. They even have LINE stamps to choose from on the ticket machine. It was quiet when I arrived early for dinner, but it got busier later on. I found out it's a popular chain with multiple locations. The clear soup and carefully selected ingredients made the ramen delicious. The price seemed reasonable too. Thank you for the meal.

I'm happy that I could choose the first African-style ramen, I like the thick noodles! The line was not too long, so I was able to get in quickly, but the aisle was narrow haha. It's fun to watch them make the ramen at the counter. The chashu always looks so delicious and you can tell how greasy it is! The ramen is easy to eat.

The store is beautiful✨, but the staff is a bit clumsy and bumps into others while seating. After being seated for about 7 minutes, the ramen is served. First, I drink the Yuzu-flavored broth, which has a refreshing taste of salt ramen. The noodles are unique with a good chewy texture, and the char siu is deliciously seared. I ordered the wonton as a topping, but it may not be necessary as it was just okay. The char siu rice bowl had meat that was seared very well but surprisingly not hot. It was still tasty though. The rice was not the best quality, but overall the food was delicious. I would recommend it, but the price this time was 2400 yen for ramen and a bowl, which was honestly a bit expensive. However, the Yuzu salt ramen is not something you come across often, so I recommend trying it out.✊
