Established in 1996, Menya Musashi was a popular ramen shop with long lines. When I visited for the first time, I was overwhelmed by the atmosphere, cleanliness, and the flavorful W-soup ramen with a strong flavor of saury. The soup is a combination of chicken bone and pork bone based "animal-based soup" and a double soup of bonito flakes and dried sardines "seafood-based soup" - a two-soup style, which is the origin of the shop name "Menya Musashi". I ordered the "Musashi La Men (light)" - a harmonious blend of animal-based and seafood-based soup with no off-flavors, making my hands tremble with the thought of dropping the ladle. Even though it had a slight oiliness, the lack of heaviness suggests the use of high-quality ingredients. The noodles were smooth, had a good chewiness, and a high wheat fragrance, harmonizing well with the soup. The trendy rare chashu and perfectly cooked seasoned egg had a gentle flavor that allowed the true taste of the egg to shine through. The melt-in-your-mouth braised pork belly as a side dish provided a satisfying experience. The aroma of Kujo green onions was also wonderful. I was satisfied. It was delicious!! Thank you for the meal!

This is my third time visiting, and the tsukemen is still delicious. You can get up to triple the amount of noodles for free, making it student-friendly. The chashu is especially tasty, and the egg is perfectly runny. I think most guys could easily handle a double portion!

On Friday at 7:30 PM, I visited the shop alone. It was now light rain, but because of the direct hit of the typhoon, it seemed empty. Usually, there are about 5-10 people waiting. I ordered the usual rich ramen with flavored egg and extra pork. The total was 21,690 yen.

Today, I went to "Menya Musashi," just a few minutes' walk from Shinjuku Station. I ordered the extra rich ramen with 3 times the normal amount! (1050 yen) Surprisingly, this shop allows you to increase the amount of noodles for free, up to a maximum of 5 times! My boss tried to challenge the 5 times portion (2nd picture). I definitely want to try that challenge someday! LOL

Around 10 pm, I visited the restaurant alone and found it bustling with customers at the counter. I was torn between ordering tsukemen or ramen, but ended up choosing the most basic ramen set from the ticket machine. It was delicious. The staff was efficient and friendly. The service was relatively fast from ordering to receiving the food. The fact that you can get a free upsize is great.

A famous restaurant in Shinjuku. I used to come here several times when it first opened. It had been decades since then, so I decided to visit again. I didn't know they served tsukemen, so I chose that without hesitation. The flavor was rich and the portion size was just right. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is calm, and even women can dine alone comfortably. There are also many inbound tourists due to the location.

The basic tsukemen here is a bit over 1000 yen, but they offer a significant increase in noodle quantity for free, making it cost-effective for those who like to eat a lot. The ticket machine accepts electronic money, which is convenient. The dipping sauce is a classic fish and pork bone broth, rich and delicious. You can get one free refill of the dipping sauce. The noodles are smooth with a good chewiness, which pairs well with the rich dipping sauce. I ordered the large portion, but it felt like there was actually less noodles than that, maybe it was just my imagination. The braised pork belly was tender and satisfying. If I ever crave tsukemen in Shinjuku, I would definitely visit this place again.

I had tsukemen at Musashi in Ikebukuro, so this time I tried the ra-men here. Ra-men comes in two types: "light" and "rich". Both regular and large sizes are priced at 990 yen. I chose "rich ra-men in large size" at the ticket machine. I bought the ticket and then lined up. There were only two people in line at 9:15 pm. I got seated in about 5 minutes. When I left, there were 8 people in line, so maybe I was lucky. The noodles are thick and chewy, very delicious. The soup is rich in flavor, which goes well with the noodles. I ate it as my last meal when I was already full. I think the impression would be different if I had eaten it on an empty stomach. If it were tsukemen, you wouldn't have to pay extra for up to 1kg of noodles.

I went to a ramen shop in Shinjuku! This time, I visited "Soshimeya Musashi". I ordered the "Rich Musashi Tsukemen". It's the first store of the Musashi ramen chain, and it's amazing. Of course, the signature menu item is tsukemen. The wait was exciting! The presentation was great. Musashi ramen never disappoints. The soup is a combination of seafood and animal-based flavors with chicken bones, pork bones, bonito flakes, and dried sardines bursting with umami. The thickness is just right, with a rich and sweet aftertaste. You can even get a refill of the soup once. The noodles are smooth and chewy, finished with a refreshing touch of cold water. The chashu, or braised pork, is outstanding, with the pork slices also well-seasoned and delicious. The seasoned egg gets 2.5 out of 3 stars. As you may know, each Musashi ramen shop has its own unique menu, so please let me know if you have a favorite Musashi shop. Thank you very much!

While visiting Shinjuku, I decided to have lunch in Musashi. I ordered the limited-time cold dipping noodles for the summer. The dipping sauce was refreshing but still had a strong flavor, and it paired well with the thick noodles without feeling lacking in any way. Most customers may be looking for a rich dipping noodle experience, but for those who want to try something different once in a while, I highly recommend this menu.

I have bought collaboration products at the famous historical Musashi convenience store before. This was my first visit and although many people were ordering tsukemen, I decided to go with ramen (light). The place was crowded but the turnover rate was good, and the food was served quickly. The taste was safe and similar to Daikokuya without any strong flavors. The chashu was extremely delicious, thick and well-marinated. If I have the chance, I would like to try the tsukemen as well.

The main store of Menya Musashi located on the west side of Seibu Shinjuku Station in the Shinjuku area. It has been about 15 years since I waited in line for over an hour to eat here, so it was a long-awaited visit. The exterior and interior of the restaurant have a stylish feel, and there are only L-shaped counter seats. Despite visiting during a slightly late lunch hour, the seats were full and there were about 10 people waiting inside, so it seems like the restaurant is still very popular. Looking at the customers, I noticed that there were more foreign tourists than Japanese. First, you purchase a meal ticket at the ticket machine. Perhaps due to the scorching heat outside, most people were eating tsukemen, but I chose the basic "Ra-men (light) for 990 yen". By the way, the extra noodles are free, so it's a good deal. The food is prepared while you wait in line, so it is served immediately after being seated. The double soup with animal and fish broth, which has now become common, was a revelation of deliciousness at the time. The blended soup has a deep richness, but the aftertaste is surprisingly refreshing, making you want to drink it all up. The chewy flat noodles go well with it, and the tender braised pork belly-like chashu and other toppings were delicious, making me feel like it is a refined and high-quality ramen. Depending on the time of day, there may be a long wait, but I recommend it when you want to eat delicious ramen.

Visited after about 10 years. Ordered 3.5 servings of tsukemen as usual. It tasted a bit saltier than I'm used to from the Ikebukuro branch, but adding the soup base balanced it out perfectly. When I tried adding a new type of shichimi spice I've never seen before, it was out of this world. I mean, I was seriously impressed. It's truly amazing how just one condiment can completely change the flavor.

Founded by Menya Musashi, the famous "Charred Braised Pork Set Meal" limited to 15 servings per day features the signature charred braised pork as the main dish, accompanied by a double soup of pork bone and seafood, rice, seasoned egg, and pickles! This dish was created in response to the request of wanting to enjoy the combination of Menya Musashi's famous tender braised pork with white rice. The braised pork is steamed to remove excess oil, then slowly simmered in a special sweet and savory sauce, resulting in a melt-in-your-mouth texture that pairs perfectly with the rice!! The amount of rice is the same for regular, medium, and large sizes, all at the same price. It was exciting to decide how to enjoy each component of the meal! Among all the ramen shops, this one stood out as a set meal. Everyone seemed to be ramen experts at Menya Musashi. They were pros at getting refills! The kitchen was extremely clean, and the staff members were very energetic!! What a nice feeling in this store♪ I've been to Roppongi before, but I didn't realize this place was right next to the Nishi-Shinjuku-Nanachome Post Office that I often visit! This is the main store of the Musashi group. Menya Musashi has 15 locations in Japan, each offering a different taste experience. "Founded Menya Musashi" opened in June 1998 and is celebrating its 25th year this year. The soup is a double soup made from chicken bones and pork bones as the base "animal-based soup," as well as bonito flakes and dried sardines for the "seafood-based soup." "Ikebukuro Menya Musashi Niten" opened in September 2012. A collaboration of fried food and noodles!! "Okachimachi Menya Musashi Bukotsu" opened in December 2003. Three colors of noodles with different flavors: black, white, and red. "Kichijoji Menya Musashi Koto" opened in February 2005. The one and only Chashu sausage!! "Shibuya Menya Musashi Bukotsu Gaiden" has freshly sliced tender Chashu that is exquisite! "Takadanobaba Menya Musashi Takatora" opened in February 2007. A hearty tsukemen with rich soup. "Kanda Menya Musashi Koyama" opened in February 2009. Koyama's original "grilled Chashu!!" "Akihabara Menya Musashi Bujin" opened in June 2009. Overwhelming presence. "Bujin meat" "Akihabara Menya Musashi Gankou" opened in March 2010. Specialty!! Chashu bacon. "Roppongi Menya Musashi Koshou" opened in September 2011. Taste that inherits the founding spirit. "Ueno Menya Musashi Bukotsu Souden" opened in June 2011. Three colors of tsukemen with different flavors: black, white, and red. "Tamachi Menya Musashi Shibaura Store" opened in May 2014, the second single-brand store. A large store where families can enjoy. "Hamamatsucho Menya Musashi Hamamatsucho Store" opened on September 22, 2016. Pork bone and seafood double soup with large pieces of braised pork. "Menya Musashi Gorindou" Enjoy Menya Musashi's original "knife-cut noodles" to the fullest! Wow! I started writing about what sets each store apart, and I didn't realize there were so many stores, so I tried to stop writing, but I couldn't wahaha Looking at Menya Musashi's Instagram, it seems like each store has a different menu, which looks fun♪ They also have a strong presence internationally, with locations in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, China, Ukraine, Los Angeles, Indonesia, and Seattle! Amazing, right! The owner, Jiro Yatsuki, apparently runs the Tokyo Marathon in just over 3 hours♪ Amazing!! Instagram TikTok@nanayakko https://www.instagram.com/nanayakko/?hl=ja

I always order Musashi Ramen, but recently the braised pork is too greasy and heavy, making it taste too rich. The rare chashu also seems to have a bit of a strange smell. The soup is delicious, so I just want to have a normal, regular ramen (with regular chashu).

About 10 minutes walk from the west exit of Shinjuku Station, there is a ramen and tsukemen restaurant. I purchased a ticket for the special tsukemen at the entrance ticket machine. You can choose from various amounts of noodles. Since it was my first visit, I ordered the medium size (370g). When I sat down, the person next to me was eating a huge bowl of noodles, maybe around 1kg. It was shocking. After a while, my tsukemen arrived. I dipped the noodles in the dipping sauce and took a bite. The flavor was rich, and quite salty. If you find it too salty, you can use the hot water provided on the table. However, you can really taste the seafood flavor. There are two types of chashu, both with tender meat and delicious. I am a male college student and eat an average amount, but after finishing everything, I was about 80% full. If you want to be full or have a big appetite, you can choose a large portion or even more. It's getting hot lately, so eat a lot to build up your strength!

The default version of Musashi tsukemen is actually this light type. It's a clear soup type of dipping sauce. It has a refreshing taste with a hint of acidity and a solid umami flavor. It's garnished with chopped green onions, sliced chashu pork, and bamboo shoots, making it easy to lift the noodles with the soup. The noodles are the usual thick and smooth type with a good chewiness. The braised pork belly has a strong presence and is really impressive. I discovered a set meal where you can have the braised pork belly as a side dish with rice and soup, so I'll try that next time. Thank you for the meal.

■ "Soushimenyamusashi" - Lunch Visit The location of the restaurant "Soushimenyamusashi" is a 3-minute walk from Shinjuku Nishiguchi Station, near Kotakiba Street, a well-known and popular spot. I visited during lunchtime, around 2 pm, after the peak hours, and there was always a line from the ticket machine inside the store to the entrance. However, the turnover of seats was quick, and the staff cleaned up promptly, so I didn't have to wait long to be seated. I purchased a ticket for the "Rich Ajitama Tsukemen" with a medium noodle portion. I was guided to my seat by a friendly staff member. I tried the "Rich Ajitama Tsukemen" dish. It was served in about 6 minutes after ordering, with a beautifully arranged presentation of the dipping noodles. The rich-looking dipping sauce is a double soup made from a base of chicken and pork bone broth ("animal-based soup") combined with bonito flakes and dried sardines ("seafood-based soup"). It has a pleasant aroma and is rich and full of umami, with a thick consistency that coats the noodles well. The noodles are shiny and medium-thick, with a chewy and bouncy texture. Dipping the shiny noodles into the rich sauce was a blissful experience. I kept eating in silence, savoring the deliciousness. The sauce is rich and has a rounded flavor, with a mild aftertaste and a hint of sweetness. The large block of chashu pork was quite tender, with a mellow and slightly sweet taste. I enjoyed the perfectly cooked soft-boiled egg and finished the medium portion (about 370g) of noodles without any difficulty. I also thoroughly enjoyed the soup split. I was very satisfied with the "Rich Ajitama Tsukemen." Next time, I would like to try the "ramen" menu items as well. Thank you for the delicious meal! I went for lunch. I had to wait a bit, but I was seated shortly. I ordered the regular size of the rich Musashi tsukemen. I thought about getting the large size, but I remembered last time I ordered it, the dipping sauce ran out, so I chose the regular size. The taste was as delicious as ever. There was just enough sauce left over, so it was perfect.

I visited Menya Musashi at Shinjuku Nishiguchi. It's about a 4-5 minute walk from the west exit of the station, so it's very convenient! When I tried to push the entrance door, I was surprised to find it was automatic, haha. This time, I visited with a friend, and I ordered the tsukemen while my friend ordered ramen. The price for tsukemen starts at 1040 yen. I ordered a double portion, but you can get up to a triple portion for the same price, which is great for those who want to eat a lot! They accept cashless payments, so I paid with PayPay. You order using a ticket machine. The rice bowls start at 400 yen. I wanted to order just a bowl of rice, but I couldn't find the button for it, so I gave up this time. The restaurant was full when we arrived around 2:30 PM. It seems to be a popular place. The tsukemen has a seafood-based flavor with a strong sweetness. They provide shichimi and yuzu pepper at the table, so you can adjust the sweetness to your liking. Even though it was sweet, I still found it delicious! The staff greets you nicely, but other than that, there wasn't much interaction, so I would rate it 3 stars. You can get one soup refill for the tsukemen. If you're in Shinjuku Nishiguchi, definitely try their seafood-based ramen or tsukemen!

I was in the mood for ramen, but everywhere had long lines. I decided to come here since there was no line. This place was one of the pioneers of the ramen boom. It's been over 10 years since I last visited. There was a line inside the restaurant, but it moved quickly. They seem to have stopped the "one, two, three" call. They seem to be promoting tsukemen, so I ordered the rich flavored egg tsukemen with a medium serving. The soup had a strong seafood flavor with pork bone and chicken, paired with thick noodles. It felt nostalgic. The noodles had a good chewiness. There was a faint scent of yuzu. I used a lot of the paste-like shichimi pepper on the table. The seared chashu was melt-in-your-mouth tender, almost like braised pork. It was delicious. Adding soup to the remaining broth made it comforting.
