The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of a building a little off Takibashi Street. As soon as you get off the elevator, you enter the restaurant where you take off your shoes. Despite being past 7 pm, the place was already bustling with many customers. We were seated at a sunken kotatsu table in the back after making a reservation. The atmosphere was lively and the staff were polite and helpful. We ordered dishes like grilled nodoguro, grilled mackerel, simmered kinmedai, ginnan, hot potato salad, grilled red eggplant, and whole grilled onions. We started with a sashimi platter and sake, followed by various types of sake recommended by the staff. The food was delicious, especially the fresh fish, and the sake selection was impressive. We ended the meal with freshly cooked Koshihikari rice and simmered kinmedai broth. The bill came out to around 7,000 yen per person, which felt like a good deal. Thank you for the meal.

I had a day off work and went to Shinjuku. Met up with a friend who finishes work around evening and we decided to look for a place to eat. I remembered seeing a charcoal grill on Instagram so I checked it again and found a place called Kanshoku Agari. We arrived around 5 pm and there were already a few customers inside, so it seemed like a popular spot. We ordered a glass of beer to start and were recommended to order grilled dishes first as it takes about 40 minutes to cook the rice. We ordered a grilled sea bream and one serving of rice. The rice was cooked beautifully and went perfectly with the dried fish flakes. The sea bream was delicious and the staff kindly removed the bones for us. It was a rare experience to have charcoal grill food and I enjoyed it a lot. Thank you for the meal!

The taste and atmosphere were both excellent! I don't usually drink sake, but it was very delicious. The woman in the middle was cooking rice, and the man was grilling fish, creating a great atmosphere. It was a lot of fun. It seemed like the foreign guests also enjoyed it!

I went to a restaurant called "Kan Agari" with a friend who is working on the same project. This restaurant specializes in robatayaki, where dishes cooked on the grill inside the counter are served to customers using a large ladle-like tool. The interior of the restaurant has a charming Japanese style, and bringing a Vietnamese engineer colleague along is highly appreciated. The appetizer was a luxurious sashimi platter. The restaurant is known for its selection of over 20 types of sake, served at the perfect temperature to complement the dishes. We tried sakes from Niigata and Yamanashi prefectures that evening. The recommended seasonal vegetable dish was a lotus root kimpira, sweet and savory. The corn tempura was surprising with the core still intact. The "Simple Potato Salad" had pickled radish and was delicious. The grilled dishes arrived, starting with the popular "donko shiitake" with a rich umami flavor. The salt-grilled fish, in this case, Ishimochi, was perfectly cooked and paired well with the sake. The whole grilled onion was sweet and tender, enhanced by the sprinkled kombu salt. The wagyu beef tataki was beautifully pink and flavorful. The meal ended with a pot of fragrant Koshihikari rice, served with soy sauce-marinated egg yolk. The atmosphere and the robatayaki system made the dining experience enjoyable. I will definitely ask my friend for more restaurant recommendations in Shinjuku next time I visit Tokyo.

The reason it's not a perfect score is because when I arrived about 7 minutes before my reservation time and took the elevator to the 3rd floor, there were already 4-5 people waiting in front of the store. I couldn't wait in front of the store, so I ended up going back down to the 1st floor in the elevator and waiting until just before opening time to go back up to the 3rd floor. However, all the course dishes were delicious, and the selection of all-you-can-drink sake was satisfying. Especially, the rice from Gunma Prefecture was incredibly sweet and shiny, unlike any I've ever had before. I would come back to this wonderful restaurant just for this rice! Thank you very much!

"I visited this place for dinner. If you want to enjoy fresh fish, this is the place to go! The interior is clean, and the staff is wonderful. They offer a variety of dishes showcasing seasonal fish, all of which are delicious. The sashimi, in particular, is thick and incredibly fresh. The prices are reasonable, and overall satisfaction is high."

Less than a 10-minute walk from Shinjuku Station... Nishi-Shinjuku 7-chome is an area that I rarely venture into, but I was invited and decided to visit! The moment I stepped inside the restaurant, I knew it was a good place! The atmosphere is just right! Inside the slightly dimly lit restaurant, you take off your shoes and sit at the sunken kotatsu-style counter. There are many dishes featuring seasonal ingredients that go well with sake, and the reasonable prices were impressive. The appetizer, sashimi, really shows their dedication. The hospitality of the staff was also wonderful. Of course, the grilled dishes were delicious, and the specialty white rice and its accompaniments were exquisite. I couldn't fully enjoy everything in one visit, so I definitely want to come back to this great restaurant. I'm also curious about their group dining options.

On this day, I went drinking with a friend in Shinjuku and we went to a place called KANAGARI for some warm sake. We sat at the counter and started with a toast with beer. We asked the staff for recommendations and enjoyed some appetizers. The sashimi for the appetizer was satisfying. The recommended fish was the grilled nodoguro, which was delicious and fatty. We also had grilled donko shiitake mushrooms, which were a luxurious treat. The freshly cooked Koshihikari rice was recommended to us, and it was shiny and delicious. We dipped it in salt and also ordered some mentaiko to mix in. Ah, being Japanese is great.

I made a reservation for a course with sea urchin included. It was a casual business entertainment, so overall it was good. However, having two boxes of sea urchin for four people for all-you-can-eat didn't work well, as it was difficult to place orders and the service seemed a bit disorganized due to the popularity of the restaurant and lack of staff. Nevertheless, the effort of the staff was evident. Next time, I would like to go with friends who enjoy sake and take it easy. The white rice was incredibly delicious!

First visit. The organizer seemed to have made a reservation online because they liked a photo with lots of sea urchin. In reality, the sea urchin was served in small portions on compact plates, which was disappointing. The dish itself was delicious, but perhaps our expectations were too high? It was a bit misleading.

Two colleagues and I visited this restaurant. The interior has several raised seating areas, with a counter around a hearth, tables, and sunken kotatsu seating. The raised seating areas have many seats, making it great for group gatherings. The food overall was delicious, although some dishes were slightly overcooked or served lukewarm, which was a bit disappointing. However, all the staff members were friendly and provided excellent service, leaving a great impression. My two colleagues were also satisfied, and we had a fun dining experience.

I made a reservation and visited on Saturday afternoon. It is a popular restaurant, so making a reservation is recommended. The water eggplant and young corn from the dashi sashimi platter really got me excited. The water eggplant was very fresh and delicious. It went well with the ginger soy sauce, and also paired nicely with sake. The service was great and it was a fun restaurant. Thank you for the meal! ☺️

The nearest station is Shinjuku Station on the Seibu Shinjuku Line. Located on the 3rd floor of an old building, it takes about 7 minutes on foot. The restaurant specializes in sake served warm and charcoal-grilled dishes. The interior is impressive, with a ninja-like young woman welcoming guests. The atmosphere is reminiscent of Hokkaido or Tohoku. The restaurant has a long L-shaped counter on the right side and a space for group dining on the left. The menu includes a variety of fresh ingredients. I reserved the "Special Course with All-you-can-drink Sake (20 types)" for 5,500 yen. The quality of the sashimi was excellent, and the grilled dishes were delicious. The drink ordering process is unique, done through a QR code and LINE. Grilled fish, such as mackerel, was served with a photo-taking session before being prepared for easy eating. The meal concluded with a pot of freshly cooked Koshihikari rice and pickled vegetables. The quality of the food was impressive for the price. Overall, it is a high-level charcoal-grilled restaurant in Tokyo that I highly recommend.

They offer a variety of dishes such as their specialty whole grilled fish, robatayaki, and other dishes that pair well with sake. They also serve Koshihikari rice cooked in a Nanbu iron pot by the master Giko Mitsumitsu. The restaurant has an impressive selection of over 50 types of sake, carefully selected by a sake sommelier to match the seasonal ingredients. The antique atmosphere with low tables and tatami mats allows you to enjoy a space where you can truly appreciate being Japanese! [Review] The all-you-can-drink 20 types of sake and specialty dish eating course at Kan Agari was truly amazing! While I would love to comment on everything, I'll focus on a few highlights. Firstly, the winner was the "whole grilled fish"! It's impossible for grilled fish cooked over charcoal to not be delicious. The freshness and flavor of the fish, cooked to perfection, was truly outstanding. The runner-up was the "seasonal grilled vegetables"! We were served onions as the seasonal grilled vegetable, and they were incredibly delicious (sweet)! Lastly, the honorable mention goes to the "shiitake mushrooms"! Directly sourced from Tsukiyono Kinoko En, these shiitake mushrooms were exceptional! The moment you bite into them, the overflowing essence of the shiitake is sure to impress anyone! [Course Contents] - Assorted 5 types of fresh fish of the day - Directly sourced shiitake mushrooms from Tsukiyono Kinoko En - Seasonal grilled vegetables - Seasonal specialty dish - Whole grilled fish - Large sweet potato tempura - Koshihikari rice from Minakami, Gunma, cooked by Giko Mitsumitsu - Rice accompaniment of the day - Miso soup Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The food was delicious, but there wasn't anything particularly impressive. The grilled vegetables were good, but it really depends on the quality of the vegetables. The edamame was tasty with a strong flavor. The rice at the end was enjoyable, and it was nice to see the face of the producer, who was a cute old man. The sweetness of the rice stood out, showing it was good quality. The sake had some description, but it wasn't very reliable. The seating was cramped, and there was only one restroom for each gender, which was a bit inconvenient. The interior was dimly lit.

If you love robatayaki, you should definitely try the otoshi and sashimi, which were surprisingly good. The freshness of the sashimi was not perfect, but it was still enjoyable. The donko is a must-try! The simmered dish was delicious, and ordering the clay pot rice is a must. This was my second visit, and I regret not ordering more rice. The service and food at this restaurant were excellent.

***Summary*** ☆Wide variety and high quality of Japanese sake! ☆Filled with people coming after work, creating a great atmosphere! (Foreigners might enjoy it) ☆Certainly delicious Koshihikari white rice, impressed by the simmered golden-eyed snapper! ***Details*** A while ago, this restaurant was introduced in a magazine, boasting delicious Japanese sake, simmered fish, and various other dishes. I managed to secure a reservation and it was about a 10-minute walk from Shinjuku Station West Exit. I found a great restaurant in this area. The simmered golden-eyed snapper I came for had a rich flavor that made me want to suck every last bit off the bones. The recommended white rice at the restaurant takes 30 minutes to cook, but we ordered it early. We thought one serving for each of the three of us would be enough, but it was so delicious that I wanted to eat two servings by myself... It was a weekday, so there were many people coming after work, creating a lively and bustling atmosphere, which I think adds to the charm of this restaurant. I can't wait to go back soon. Such a great place.

A Japanese restaurant belonging to a very popular group. They are particular about their rice and even though it's a drinking spot, they always serve rice. Their dishes, including the classic Donko Shiitake, are all delicious, and they have a wide variety of sake. Every time I go, I discover new sake and dishes, and the staff are extremely friendly, making it a very comfortable place to be.

Visited for dinner. The sashimi appetizer was delicious right from the start. Squid, tuna, scallops, and simmered donko mushrooms. The grilled nodoguro with salt was cooked just right, with a perfect seasoning. It also came with grated daikon, but it's best to eat it as served. The donko mushrooms were grilled upside down, allowing the hot broth to collect in the cap, which you can sip before taking a bite. They were thick, juicy, and really delicious. I couldn't resist asking for seconds. The edamame and potato tempura were also delicious. The highlight was the white rice. Incredibly delicious. They cook the rice from Japan's top farm in a personal pot just for you. Ordering the egg yolk pickles and seaweed miso soup to go with the rice is definitely worth it. It's not often you find white rice this delicious. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again.
