However, today is a rare occasion for dining out. Let me introduce a recommended restaurant I found in Shinjuku. It's a bit of a walk from Shinjuku Station, but it only takes about 10 minutes, so it's quick. The restaurant is located underground, so make sure you find it properly. This restaurant has a rating of 3.44 on Tabelog, almost reaching 3.5, making it a great place. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you can feel it. The staff members have such lovely smiles. It's truly heartwarming. First, let's start with some sparkling wine. This raises our expectations for the food. The food is delicious! (Prices are excluding tax) The limited-time menu has just started. Katsuo Carpaccio - 980 yen Prosciutto with fig and balsamic sauce - 980 yen The katsuo is moist and delicious. It feels incredibly fresh. The prosciutto's slight saltiness pairs well with wine! The staff's recommendation is the 9-type oyster platter - 2,980 yen. This is a must-try! They serve oysters grilled, raw, and fried in 9 different ways. The harmony between raw oysters and sea urchin was amazing! The recommended dish to finish off is the Despair Pasta - 1,680 yen. You can choose the level of spiciness, from Mild to Middle to Despair. As it's my first visit, I chose Middle. It's not too spicy, just right. It feels luxurious with plenty of seafood. The soup is incredibly delicious, and if there were bread, I would have dipped it in and finished it. The dessert is the limited-time Chestnut Basque Cheesecake - 680 yen. It's incredibly creamy. The subtle sweetness is perfect. You can feel the autumn season. The wine list here is unique and fun. They compare the taste of the wines to celebrities. I tried Yokohama Ryusei, Naomi Watanabe, Satomi Ishihara, and Gen Hoshino. It makes ordering more enjoyable. While we were there, the restaurant was almost full. It's a popular place. The image of the customers is mostly women. Gentlemen, this is a recommended restaurant for a date.

I ordered fresh oysters, despair pasta, and sea urchin cream pasta. The fresh oysters seemed to have been washed in water after being shucked, but they were not rinsed properly, so the oysters came out sitting in water on their shells. They lacked any ocean flavor and were very watery. The despair pasta was a spicy seafood soup pasta. The soup had too much liquid, so the seafood umami was not noticeable at all and did not mix well with the pasta. All I could taste was the spiciness. The sea urchin cream pasta had almost no sea urchin flavor, and the raw sea urchin topping was bitter.

I went with a friend and the atmosphere inside the restaurant is dim, but the staff is very friendly, which I liked. We chose the all-you-can-drink option and a course for about 4200 yen. It's inexpensive but delicious!! We ate so much that we were stuffed haha The drinks were also good quality, not watered down. Everything we drank was delicious. This was my second visit, and I was very disappointed. My first visit was in April this year, and this time I ordered the oyster Jenga again, just like last time. Last time, with some advice from the staff, I was able to stack up to the maximum of 12 oysters, and they even added an extra one as a service. However, this time the base plate was clearly smaller, and I could only stack up to 6 oysters. While I understand that this item is meant to test the customer's skill and is a fun product, such a big difference in the number of oysters was disappointing and made me feel like it was more of an issue with the dish itself rather than my own skill. As someone who came back based on my experience last time, I honestly felt let down. It would have been nice if they had informed us about any changes in price or content. I understand that there may be reasons like rising ingredient costs, but it was still disappointing. The rice itself was very delicious. I will not be using their services again.

We visited around 13:30 on Sunday. It's great that they have a lunch menu on Sundays too! We ordered the recommended 1500 yen B set and added 500 yen for dishes 9 and 10. Dish 9 had thick slices of salmon with plenty of salmon roe, and dish 10 was an oyster and sea urchin pasta with a deep plate overflowing with rich pasta. There were about 5 oysters on top. The panna cotta dessert was also delicious. I would like to visit for dinner next time!

The drinks were relatively affordable, starting from 550 yen, which was great. I enjoyed dishes like carpaccio and seared salmon bowl, all of which were delicious. The main room we first entered was quite lively with laughter, so the separate room was perfect for us who wanted to have a quiet conversation. We ordered the ham and salami we had been wanting to try. The aroma filled the air and it was amazing. We also had steamed, grilled, and fried oysters, and they were all delicious! The oysters were big and juicy, and the fried ones were perfectly crispy, so tasty! As we were chatting and enjoying our meal, before we knew it, it was already the last order at 10:00. We still wanted to try more dishes, so we ordered the Chicago pizza meat sauce, smoked salmon and avocado, award-winning assorted fried chicken, and a selection of 5 cheeses. Surprisingly, the dishes were served quickly. We thought we had about 30 minutes left, but then a staff member asked us to settle the bill first and reminded us that we needed to leave by 10:15. Shocking fact!! We only had a little over 10 minutes left (sweat). We should have checked the exit time before ordering, but it would have been nice if they had informed us at the time of ordering... (tears) From then on, we desperately tried to finish our meal quickly. Haha. Even while eating, the staff came by every few minutes to check if we were done, and it was quite stressful. We didn't have time to savor the delicious food. We just ate as fast as we could. When we finally left the restaurant a few minutes late at 10:15, we could still hear the lively voices of the customers from the main room. I don't know if we had to leave by 10:15 because we had a reservation, or if they wanted to close the separate room early because there were no other customers, but I wish they could have been a bit more flexible... The food was delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great, but the rushed eating competition at the end was very disappointing.
