Yutenji Station has a ramen shop that stays open late, which is great! I bought tickets for the ramen and tsukemen and chose the salt flavor for the ramen this time. The salt ramen was delicious! I'll definitely choose salt ramen again in the future. I used to think salt ramen had a gentle and simple taste, but here it has a strong ginger flavor and is delicious! The noodles are chewy and satisfying. The tsukemen has even more noodles, totaling 300g, and the dipping sauce is rich soy sauce flavor. Next time, I want to try the salt ramen and kama-tama (600 yen) as well.

Today is my second visit. The first time I had soy sauce flavor, so today I tried the salt flavor. The impression is similar to Kitakata ramen. The soup has a strong umami flavor, and the chashu and menma are well-prepared. As someone who enjoys basic ramen, I found it irresistible.

East Yokohama & Nanbu Line Ramen Journey. This time, I went to Yutenji. On a Sunday when my wife went to volunteer at the library, of course, it was a ramen expedition. After much deliberation, I decided on a shop in Yutenji. When I got off the train, there were central and southern ticket gates, and according to Google Maps, the southern gate seemed closer, so I went out that way, but couldn't find the shop. I went back along the tracks, and it turned out the shop was right outside the central gate ^^;. I bought soy sauce ramen at the ticket machine. There was only one customer when I arrived right after opening, and I was seated at the counter facing the wall. A bowl labeled "Uchitate Chuka Soba Izakaya Hachi" arrived with soy sauce ramen. Yes, it seems they make their noodles in-house here. The soup was light, based on chicken, and refreshing. The homemade noodles were thick and chewy. The toppings included pork belly chashu, spinach, and bamboo shoots cut into short cylindrical shapes, which were crunchy. I enjoyed it until the last bite. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Delicious Chinese noodles. A ramen shop right in front of the ticket gate at Yutenji Station. The traditional Chinese noodles are of high quality. The seasoned egg for 150 yen may seem a bit expensive, but it goes well with the soy sauce base. If you order the recommended Negi Chaa-don set, even adults will be quite full.

Just outside the ticket gates of Yutenji Station, there is a shop within the station premises run by Mr. Komiyama, who also operates TETSU ramen. In addition to ramen, they also offer rice dishes and karaage. You can use electronic money such as Pasmo at the ticket machine. You can choose between soy sauce or salt for the Chuka soba and tsukemen, and personally, I preferred the salt. The soup has a complex flavor with a strong umami taste, giving off a mushroom-like vibe. The noodles have a high water content, are thick, and have a unique texture that is firm and delicious. The fried rice has a typical Chinese restaurant feel to it, and it's really good. This time I tried the kama tamago for only 600 yen, which is incredibly cheap. It seems like they are also offering the menu from "Napoleon" in Todoroki University. It only comes with shredded green onions and a raw egg, but the noodles are delicious. Unlike Napoleon, where there are many toppings on the table, here they only provide shiitake vinegar. The focus is really on savoring the noodles. The noodles in the Chuka soba have a bit more chew to them. I think it's a truly authentic ramen shop, but it's not too crowded, so you can get in right away, which is nice. They have many seats, mostly at the counter, but the spacing between seats is wide, making it easy for women to enter.

Visited at 11:40 am on a regular day. No waiting. About 80% of the restaurant was filled, similar to last time. This time, I tried the tsukemen. I ordered the regular size, which is about 300g. I was a bit worried because it was a bit more than I usually eat (around 250g), but I managed to finish it! The noodles were thick and chewy, very delicious. The dipping sauce was larger than I expected, with more soup than I thought. The dipping sauce was not too sour, more like ramen soup. Inside the soup, there were chashu, bamboo shoots, greens, bean sprouts, and green onions. The tsukemen was easy to eat, and before I knew it, I had finished it all. I wonder if they offer soup refills? I didn't ask for a soup refill this time. The chewy noodles were delicious! The noodles are the most important part of tsukemen, after all!

I have been coming to Yutenji often recently. There is a shop inside the station. Even though it was my first time visiting, I ended up ordering the Kama Tamago Ramen. It was delicious, but I wasn't sure what the specialty of this place was, so I thought I should have ordered the recommended dish first. The noodles were delicious! No doubt about it. So I will visit again to ask for recommendations. Thank you for the meal.

The toppings consist of tender pork belly chashu, crunchy extra thick menma, and maybe unnecessary bean sprouts. Perhaps the inclusion of bean sprouts in the soup is meant to add a nostalgic touch, but it feels a bit out of place. It's a bit disappointing considering how delicious the noodles are, but maybe it's just for today.

The noodles, although slightly thicker than those in tsukemen, paired well with the soup and were delicious. The tender cha-shu pork, crunchy thick menma bamboo shoots, and komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach) were all tasty. The spicy daikon radish added an interesting kick. The negi rice with a sprinkling of pepper, spicy negi (green onions), and chopped cha-shu pork had a perfect balance. I feel like the salt-based soup suits the dish better than soy sauce. I visited Izouhachi, located next to the ticket gate at Yutenji Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line, around 11:30. The restaurant opens at 11:00, so it was easy to get in without waiting too long on a Saturday morning. They make their noodles in-house, so you can enjoy freshly made noodles. I ordered the classic Shio (salt) ramen, which had a chicken and pork-based soup with a complex depth of flavor from dried ingredients and ginger. The highlight was definitely the freshly made noodles, which had a chewy and slightly translucent texture that was incredibly satisfying. There aren't many ramen shops near Yutenji Station, so I recommend this place as a top choice. If you're interested, be sure to check it out!

Next to the ticket gate of Yutenji Station, there is a quiet Chinese noodle shop. I ordered the tsukemen without any toppings. It came with a generous portion and the dipping sauce had plenty of vegetables. It tasted a bit salty, but the noodles were chewy.

I ordered a set of thick curly noodles with salt ramen and half fried rice at this restaurant. I purchased a meal ticket at the ticket machine located on the left side of the entrance, and handed it to the staff. They asked me if I wanted salt or soy sauce, and I chose salt. I really enjoyed the soup of the salt ramen, it was refreshing with a good depth of flavor. The thick curly noodles had a nice chewy texture and smooth surface, making it a top choice for salt ramen in my opinion. The fried rice was also delicious, with a simple and tasty egg flavor. I was happy to discover this restaurant, especially since it's located inside the train station so I didn't get wet even on a rainy day. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal!

In other words, before eating freshly made Chinese soba, I went for Kama-tama. It's like choosing rock when you should choose paper, a free-form way of living, I'll step on the praise and admiration for the kamikaze style. So, I finally arrived at the scene and entered the entrance. Now, "Kama-tama". Yutenji Station, on the rotary side, as soon as you exit the ticket gate and turn right, you'll see this place that you can't help but be drawn into. Ever since they added kama-tama (boiled egg) to their menu, it seems to be more crowded than before. The recent menu looks like this: The basics are shoyu or shio ramen and tsukemen, with a winter limited edition miso ramen still available (as of early April). This is the kama-tama that I tried for the first time at Izouhachi - it's a simple dish made with tsukemen noodles boiled and mixed with a raw egg. You can choose seasoned green onions or spicy green onions as toppings, so I chose the spicy green onions. Some of you may have noticed, but this kama-tama is actually based on the one from Napoleonken near Todai University Station. I really like the table toppings at Izouhachi, such as seasoned kikurage mushrooms, seasoned spicy enoki mushrooms, and minced garlic, so I immediately added some to my bowl. Once you're ready, mix the sauce well with the noodles and the raw egg. The noodles are freshly made and boiled, with a nice aroma and chewy texture, complemented by the crunchy texture of the green onions and the spicy kick. The sweetness of the sauce's back fat also blends well with everything. Delicious! I finally ordered the karaage (fried chicken) set meal without noodles, which I had been curious about for a while. The set meal comes with three large pieces of crispy and juicy karaage, rice, and soup. You can choose from soy sauce, salt, or sweet sauce for the karaage - I chose a mix of all three. The crispy and flavorful karaage went well with mayonnaise, and the sweet sauce was perfect as it is. The rice was also very appetizing. Bon appétit!

There used to be a menu with 2 pieces of fried chicken, and I almost lost when I combined it with the extra large fried rice. I have a good memory, so this time I ordered the extra large fried rice on its own. Pickled ginger is already served on the side, and there are flavor-changing items like "seasoned enoki mushrooms" and "seasoned kikurage mushrooms" on the table, so make sure to use them to keep the meal interesting. Recently, it's not a given that soup comes with fried rice when you order it, but at this restaurant, it does, so you can rest assured. (^o^)

Freshly made Chinese noodles at Irokuya in Yutenji. The weekly set of "Freshly made Chinese noodles (salt)" and "Fried chicken rice" for 1,000 yen. It's been a while since I've been to Irokuya. The hand-made noodles are delicious as always. The fried chicken rice is amazing, although I wish they gave 2 pieces of fried chicken. I fell in love with the Yutenji neighborhood so much that I envy those who live there! Right outside the Yutenji station gates, there is a shop inside the station. I visited for some delicious fried chicken and ramen as the final stop on a drinking spree. The chicken was coated in a sweet and savory soy-based sauce, making the meat juicy and delicious. You can also get it for takeout. The tsukemen had thick, chewy noodles with a strong soy sauce-flavored Chinese noodle soup base. The noodles were incredibly delicious! I was so focused on eating the noodles that I barely touched the soup. The seasoned egg had a gooey yolk that was mouthwatering. I will definitely be revisiting this place!
