I went with a friend. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our drinks because many people arrived at the same time. During the wait, my friend's beer lost its foam. Also, there were no rare cuts of tuna available. However, the staff were friendly and the food was delicious. I would like to visit again on a less busy day.

I visited the second restaurant because I wanted to satisfy my hunger a little bit. I ordered shrimp and cream cheese spring rolls, corn tempura, and sea grapes. They all look good and are carefully made, and taste delicious. I had my favorite guava juice as a drink. The staff was friendly and provided good service, so I would definitely like to visit again.

I went to the restaurant around 13:40 to have lunch. I didn't have a reservation, but there were seats available at the counter and I was seated there. It's a place where you can eat tuna and Okinawan cuisine, and on that day, I ordered a set menu with a choice of mini rice bowls. The mini rice bowls include Negitoro of the eye meat, seared mayo of the cheek meat, famous Ahipoki, red meat and sea grapes, and Okinawan-style raw egg, and you can choose from these 5 types. This time, I ordered the seared mayo of the cheek meat, famous Ahipoki (2nd photo), and Negitoro of the eye meat and Ahipoki (1st photo). Among the ones I ordered, the seared mayo of the cheek meat was the most delicious. It has a texture and oiliness that you might mistake for meat if you didn't know it was tuna. It's not greasy at all and goes very well with mayonnaise. On a different day, I visited around 20:00 in the evening. I called on the same day and was seated immediately without having to wait. They served a starter of tuna mixed with sesame oil, which was well-seasoned and had no unpleasant smell. I also ordered the seared mayo of the cheek meat that I had enjoyed during lunch. It's a must-try. I forgot to take a picture of the menu, but I definitely want to go back to try the assorted tuna. I was also a little curious about the other Okinawan dishes, but since this was just my first stop for the day, I could only order a few dishes. All the dishes were delicious, so I want to go back again. Since it's a place where you take off your shoes and sit at a sunken kotatsu table, it's recommended to wear shoes that are easy to take off and put on, and clothing that is easy to stand and sit in.

We ordered a set of 5 mini bowls! Two college girls shared and ate them, and we were both satisfied and just full enough! The seared pork with mayo, lean tuna, and sea grapes were especially delicious, with just the right amount of searing and not too strong acidity in the mayo. The lean tuna was fatty and the sea grapes were refreshing, really tasty! The egg yolk had a beautiful color, and the wasabi served with soy sauce was not the type that stings your nose, but rather made us impressed with each bite! We don't usually eat high-end sushi, so this level of deliciousness was more than enough for us! The BGM in the restaurant was playing songs that were popular a little while ago, but we don't listen to them anymore, so it was nostalgic and made our conversation lively and fun! 😂

Located just a 2-minute walk from Kyoto City Hall Station, in Kawaramachi Sanjo, you will find Hanari, a cozy izakaya offering rare cuts of tuna and delicious island rice dishes. The restaurant features a variety of seating options including counter seats, sunken kotatsu tables, sofa seats, and loft seating. Their menu includes a selection of tuna cuts such as eye meat, brain, cheek meat, throat meat, lean meat, red meat, and fatty tuna. They also serve fresh sea grapes, island pickles, and salted ponzu sauce for the ears of pig. I met up with my best friend from university and we had a great time at this hidden gem of a restaurant. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy, and I highly recommend this izakaya if you're in Kyoto. We started with Orion beer and then tried the Sanpin-cha mixed with shochu. The tuna platter arrived with a variety of cuts and we enjoyed it with wasabi soy sauce. Sea grapes were crunchy, pig ears were chewy, and island pickles with salt were a perfect match. Everything was delicious and I can't wait to try more items from their menu next time. There are 5 types of mini bowls using tuna, so you can choose 3 or 4 types. This time, I chose the Negitoro bowl and the Ahipoke bowl. For the Ahipoke bowl, you can add Masala sauce for a spicy kick! The Ahipoke bowl had plenty of mozuku seaweed hidden in it and was delicious. The Negitoro bowl was also delicious. The restaurant is the type where you have to take off your shoes.

Even under a state of emergency, this place is open. We were seated in the attic-like room on the second floor. The most delicious and impressive dish was the tuna, especially the toro! It was exquisite. We asked if we could just have the toro, but unfortunately, we couldn't. The shrimp mayo was also light and tasty! We were very satisfied with the Orion beer.

I went to eat Okinawan cuisine because I wanted to. I love island pickles so I ended up eating a lot. The most memorable dish was the restaurant's signature menu item, a platter of assorted sashimi with fresh tuna. I was able to try some rare cuts as well. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The assorted tuna sashimi was interesting because it included rare cuts. The restaurant has a variety of seating options like counter, tables, and private rooms, making it convenient for any occasion. It's located on the 2nd floor of a building, so you might not notice it unless you're looking for it, but it seems to have a lot of regular customers. The staff was friendly and provided great service. We opted for the 5000 yen course, which was very filling, and the all-you-can-drink menu was also satisfying. I would love to come back again!

I visited around 11:30 on a holiday. There were no other customers. - Negitoro Donburi (Minced tuna and green onion over rice) for 980 yen - The negitoro melted in my mouth! It was slightly seared, giving it a nice fishy aroma. - The takuan (pickled daikon radish) and shiso leaf were a good combination. The shiso leaf had a strong, pleasant aroma. - The egg yolk had a melting texture that didn't lose to the negitoro. - Soy sauce for the seafood bowl was provided and it was a sweet soy sauce. The wasabi was also good, not too sharp. - The rice was a bit firm, maybe because they cooled the negitoro to prevent it from cooking. If the rice was a bit softer, it would have been perfect.
