This is a shop run by a husband and wife located about a 1-minute walk from Minami-Asagaya Station on the Marunouchi Line, along Ome Kaido. They have been in business for over 20 years. It's a great place to enjoy lunch or have some light snacks and drinks in the evening. Today, I tried the Lunch B Set which includes tonkotsu ramen and chashu don. They also have mini curry, takana rice, and white rice sets that look delicious. The ramen here looks similar to Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen, but the soup is not as strong in pork bone flavor. It has a mild and light taste, which goes well with the firm thin noodles. The toppings include green onions, wood ear mushrooms, and chashu that is seared just before serving. Red pickled ginger needs to be ordered in advance. Today, I ordered the chashu don, so I didn't get an extra noodle refill, but deciding between getting a rice dish or an extra noodle refill can be a tough choice. The chashu don had plenty of delicious chashu pieces with yuzu pepper adding a nice touch. It was really tasty. Thank you for the meal.

The chashu was delicious. The taste of the chashu had a significant impact on the tonkotsu soup. The soup was not too heavy, but rather light. The noodles were thicker compared to Hakata style. The firmness was not asked for, and there was no sign indicating it, but they came out a bit firm.

The restaurant was listed as closed on Tabelog, but it was actually open! Many shops in Minami Asagaya seem to close early. The ramen shop I wanted to visit was closed though. The noodles weren't really to my liking, but the soup was delicious! The curry had cheap-tasting meat. In terms of hygiene, it felt like a typical ramen shop. It was a bit tough for someone like me who is a germaphobe!

I went to this place because I love tonkotsu ramen! I ordered ramen and gyoza. As I ate, I realized that the portion was surprisingly large for tonkotsu ramen! I didn't even need an extra serving. The gyoza seemed homemade, but I was expecting a bit more flavor punch.

Rare baked wontons and bottled beer are amazing! Baking the wonton skin until it's crispy is impressive. It's just right when you don't want something as filling as dumplings. The tonkotsu ramen is light and I wonder if it has ginger in it? The soup is light and the noodles have a nice chewy texture. There are plenty of wood ear mushrooms, which is great. It was a bit disappointing that there were fewer green onions and wood ear mushrooms than in the photo. But overall, it was delicious. It's perfect for those who like light tonkotsu broth. Another great point is the relaxing and laid-back atmosphere.

I came here because I wanted to eat tonkotsu ramen. First, I'll start with some gyoza and beer. Oh, the gyoza is delicious. The filling with crunchy vegetables is just right. The tonkotsu ramen. It has wood ear mushrooms which is a nice touch. The soup has a slight fermented smell, surprisingly refreshing. Delicious. The crunchy texture of the noodles is great. I'd like to try the soft ones next time. This place is good. I wish it was closer.

In the early afternoon, I suddenly craved Kyushu-style pork bone ramen, so I visited this restaurant. As soon as I entered, I could smell that distinctive pork bone ramen aroma. While many places nowadays offer a cleaner, less pungent version of pork bone ramen, there are times when I just crave the original flavor. I ordered the ramen with a side of pickled vegetables and added a seasoned boiled egg on top. The noodles were not too thin, just the right thickness, and had a smooth texture. When I took a sip of the pork bone soup, the aroma of pork bone hit my nose. I could taste a slight bitterness, perhaps from the soup itself or the toppings. The seasoned boiled egg exceeded my expectations in terms of quality. The pickled vegetables were more oily than spicy, reminiscent of a nostalgic flavor. It was delicious.

Located about a 1-minute walk from Minami-Asagaya Station. The owners, a husband and wife, run the place. They play Western music as background music. There are a few counter seats and tables. We ordered a mixed plate of snacks in medium bottles for 380 yen, seared pork belly for 470 yen, tonkotsu ramen for 700 yen, and an additional topping of wood ear mushrooms for 100 yen. The snack plate included seasoned eggs, bamboo shoots, and Korean seaweed, all for 380 yen, which was fantastic. The eggs were perfectly marinated, and the bamboo shoots were well seasoned. The seared pork belly was grilled on a dedicated charcoal stove, and the thick slices of pork were generously topped with sauce and plenty of two types of green onions. They also offered us some sansho pepper, which surprisingly complemented the dish well. After finishing off with some beer, we ordered the tonkotsu ramen for the finale. Although wood ear mushrooms were already included by default, we noticed others adding extra, so we decided to do the same as we love wood ear mushrooms. The tonkotsu ramen was quite light, contrary to our expectations of a more distinctive flavor given the owner's origins in Kurume. We prefer more unique flavors, so this was a bit disappointing, but the snacks were outstanding. We'll definitely come back. Many other customers were ordering sets like curry or pork belly rice bowls, which also looked delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I don't know how many times I've been there, but it's a tonkotsu ramen shop that I really like. The taste is great. It has a strong pork bone flavor, but it's also light. The balance is just right. It's been around for almost 20 years, so I hope they continue to do well in the future. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely go again.

It had been about 10 years since my last visit to this place. Unfortunately, they are now closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. I ordered ramen with extra green onions and asked for the noodles to be firm, but they turned out to be quite firm, so I think they use high-hydration noodles. The soup was light and refreshing, with a good depth of flavor. There were no bone fragments at the bottom of the bowl.

This is a restaurant near Minami-Asagaya Station where you can enjoy a typical Kyushu-style tonkotsu ramen along Ome Kaido. The price of the ramen is also reasonable at 700 yen, reflecting Kyushu pricing. You can savor the taste of Kyushu with toppings like green onions, kikurage mushrooms, and pickled ginger. They also offer extra noodle servings, allowing you to fully enjoy the flavors of Kyushu.

When I read the reviews, it seems like it's about Kurume ramen, but even though I have experience working in Kurume, I don't really understand the difference between Hakata ramen and Kurume ramen. I have a vague impression that Kurume ramen is richer, but surprisingly, the soup at Manpuku is somewhat light and not too strong in smell. As I've gotten older, tonkotsu has become a bit tough to handle, but I can easily enjoy this one - it's delicious! The unique aspect is a bit subtle, but as a Hakata (or Kurume?) ramen, it's just delicious. The noodles are the classic thin straight noodles, slightly firm, which is just right. The chashu is only one piece, but it's nicely seared and delicious. Adding chashu to the noodles for an extra 300 yen seems worth it for this taste. The curry is advertised as "homemade" and is quite unique, with a thick consistency but not European-style, with mild spiciness. It's best enjoyed as a set with the ramen, and it's delicious. I found the grilled wonton to be rare, so I ordered it as an addition. It has a nice slightly sticky texture, providing a satisfying taste that makes it clear it's a properly grilled wonton. Overall, I was satisfied with all my orders and could feel the good sense of the owner.

Established in 2001, the long-established "Tonkotsu Ramen Manpuku Honpo" in Asagaya is run by a chef from Kurume. Located near Minami-Asagaya Station on the Marunouchi Line, it is a 7-minute walk from JR Asagaya Station. The menu includes tonkotsu ramen, tsukemen, and tantanmen. During lunchtime, there are also set meals with rice dishes. The small restaurant has a few counter seats and tables, with the chef and his wife running the place. The smell of the "kusamai" tonkotsu fills the air, building anticipation. The "Curry Set Tonkotsu Ramen + Mini Curry" for 850 yen includes ramen with chashu, wood ear mushrooms, and green onions. The curry is light, about the size of a small teacup. The tonkotsu soup is surprisingly light and smooth, lacking the usual thickness and heaviness of tonkotsu broth, but still flavorful with a good balance of saltiness. The noodles have a firm texture, slightly on the rough side, and the chashu is lightly seared beforehand. The generous amount of wood ear mushrooms and green onions is a nice touch. The curry is not thick and heavy, but a light and meaty version without wheat, which is quite tasty. Having tried "Seiyo Ken" at a food event in Kurume, I found the light yet delicious tonkotsu broth here to be similar. While it may not satisfy those looking for a rich and creamy tonkotsu soup, this balanced option is quite rare in Tokyo.

Suddenly felt like eating at Asagaya Hopeken, so I headed towards Asagaya on my bicycle. However, I came across Banpuku Honpo and was drawn in, so I decided to visit. I ordered the A set, which included Tonkotsu ramen and Takana rice bowl with added mushrooms. It arrived in about 1-2 minutes. The soup was rich and delicious! It was so good that I ended up drinking it all without getting a refill. The chashu was tender and just how I like it! Being a big fan of mushrooms, I enjoyed the combination of noodles and mushrooms for their crunchy texture. It was a bit disappointing that there were no free toppings on the table due to COVID-19 measures, but I understand. The staff mentioned that they would provide them if asked, but they seemed busy. The Takana rice bowl was not spicy as I had expected, but it was still tasty. Next time, I would like to try the curry that others have praised. Thank you for the meal.

I've been going to this shop since I first came to Tokyo in 2003. It's been almost 18 years now. The tonkotsu ramen is traditional but has a rich flavor yet refreshing, and best of all, it's not too strong in smell. The tantanmen also looks delicious, so I want to try it next time. The lunch sets are quite a good deal. They are also making efforts for infection prevention, and it might be the best tonkotsu ramen I've had recently. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely go back.

I arrived around 9 pm on a regular day, and the restaurant was empty. I ordered tonkotsu ramen for 700 yen, which was quite cheap. It was served in about 3 minutes, very fast. The tonkotsu ramen looked ordinary, but the real competition was in the toppings. The soup tasted like authentic Hakata ramen, rich yet somehow light. The noodles were slightly thick, which I personally liked as they coated well with the thick soup and mixed well with the generous amount of green onions. I added extra noodles and black garlic, following the Hakata ramen style of making it richer and bolder. The black garlic had a mild spiciness but a great garlic aroma, perfect for adding an extra kick. Overall, it was a winning combination, and I have to give this place a high rating. They have been able to thrive near the station for a long time, and it's a great restaurant.

If there are mild air-conditioned cars, I would like there to be strong air-conditioned cars as well. Hello, this is SapiO. I passed by the front of the store several times, but for some reason I felt like trying the unusual Kusau Pork Bone Ramen, so I decided to go in. There was only one customer in the store on a weekday night. The inside of the store is filled with the smell of pork bones. It's kind of rare these days, right? The default pork bone ramen is 700 yen... this pricing is more like ramen you would find at a drinking establishment. Compared to the prices in the original region, it may be a bit high, but saying "Tokyo ramen is expensive!" is not unreasonable. Especially considering that there is a ramen specialty store nearby that offers ramen for 500 yen. Since it's pork bone ramen, it is served quickly. In Nishi-Tokyo, places like Goten emit a strong aroma, so here the pork smell is more of an accent. However, it is quite noticeable. The soup is a classic pork bone broth with added soy sauce seasoning. You can feel the bone powder in the taste. It has a simple flavor, so adding some pork smell to create a unique taste and bring out the addictive quality is a good choice. The noodles are low-hydration thin straight noodles. There is no other option for pairing with Hakata pork bone broth. It seems that they do not provide table toppings like pickled ginger and sesame due to COVID-19 precautions. However, crucially, there is no takana (pickled mustard greens). It's disappointing that there is no takana at this price range... my excitement decreases significantly. Looking at the menu, I noticed an interesting topping called "miso". If I had ordered this and rice, it would have been a perfect combination, but the rice is also close to 200 yen, which is quite expensive. Hmm... the cost performance is a bit lacking after all. I drank about half of the soup and finished my meal. Thank you for the meal.

I was rejected from the restaurant I was planning to visit for my hangover day off, so I ended up at this place that I had never been to before. Inside, the regular customers were having a party from noon, giving the place a nice Chinese restaurant vibe. I ordered ramen with a mini curry. The ramen had a slightly light pork bone soup with a moderate hint of richness, and the garlic and ginger added a nice touch. The noodles were a bit disappointing in flavor. However, the mini curry was a hit. It had just the right balance of sweetness and spiciness, and the depth of flavor from being made with the pork bone soup was excellent. Even as a standalone dish, the curry was really good and worth trying.

Around 3:30 in the afternoon, feeling hungry, I searched for a ramen restaurant and found (まんぷくほんぽ) available. I felt a bit sorry for arriving just in time, but they were still able to accommodate me. There was only one other group of two customers, maybe regulars? I ordered the No.1 pork bone ramen with a mini curry set. The ramen set arrived in about 5 minutes, and at first glance, it looked like a very ordinary pork bone ramen, which left me feeling a bit unsatisfied. I started by tasting the soup, which was surprisingly light and very easy to eat. The thin noodles intertwined with the light soup. Although I didn't specify the firmness of the noodles, they were slightly firm and on the shorter side. The chashu pork only had one slice, and it seemed like it was lightly grilled on a stove, but it lacked the expected richness and tasted a bit like it was pre-made. Overall, the dish lacked a bit of flavor. I added some pepper, raw garlic, and raw ginger from the condiments available, which enhanced the taste just right.

This is a review of a restaurant I happened to visit for lunch when I had some business at the Suginami Ward Office. I was drawn to the tonkotsu ramen on the menu, but I slightly regretted it after smelling the pork bone odor in the restaurant. It wasn't too strong, but the interior was old and run-down, with weak air conditioning, so the atmosphere wasn't great. There were about 7-8 counter seats and two tables for two, with another table for four being used as storage. The service was not unfriendly. Menu: The menu mainly featured tonkotsu ramen, with various set meals such as tonkotsu takana rice, tonkotsu chashu don, and tonkotsu mini curry. They also served shoyu ramen and tantanmen, and even had a dipping tonkotsu ramen with thin noodles. Food: I ordered what I thought was the tonkotsu ramen and takana rice set, but I ended up with the tonkotsu mini curry instead. The service was quite quick. The ramen had a genuine Hakata tonkotsu flavor, not like the trendy tonkotsu ramen, with thin and firm noodles, standard toppings of chashu, green onions, and wood ear mushrooms, and a mild but slightly bitter soup that highlighted the pork bone flavor. The curry was delicious, with a thick and rich consistency and lots of meat. Overall, the curry seemed tastier. The portion size for the ramen and curry set was a bit lacking, and I would have appreciated a free extra noodle option. Maybe that's being too picky? Some people might really enjoy the authentic Hakata tonkotsu flavor, but personally, it wasn't my favorite. The name tonkotsu ramen is quite enticing though. Thank you for the meal.
