Shibuya - Wagyu and Rice Miyoshitei Tabelog ★★★☆☆3.41 Google Rating ★★★☆☆3.4 Personal Rating ★★★★☆4.1 Introduction Located on the 4th floor of Shibuya Mark City, in the central area, "Wagyu and Rice Miyoshitei" is a popular restaurant known for its Hitsumabushi using Wagyu beef instead of eel. There is often a line during lunchtime, so it's best to write your name down and wait patiently. With 30 seats, the turnover rate is quite high. The interior has a calm Japanese atmosphere with only 2-4 person tables. The menu includes three types of dishes: Rib Roast, Aged Harami, and Roast Beef, as well as a set for trying all three. There are also matcha and yuzu menu items available. Order Menu: Wagyu Rib Roast Hitsumabushi (2200 yen) Wagyu Rib Roast Donburi with Corn Tan Soup, Onsen Tamago, Oshinko, condiments, and dashi. Similar to eel Hitsumabushi, the recommendation is to first eat it as is, then with the Onsen Tamago, and finally with condiments and dashi like ochazuke. Starting with the meat as is, the beef with a sweet and rich sauce is cooked to a medium-rare state. It is tender but has a good thickness for a satisfying chew. The second serving with Onsen Tamago goes really well with the rich sauce, making it hard not to finish the rice in one go. The third serving as ochazuke has a perfect dashi flavor. The combination of condiments, dashi, and sweet sauce makes it very easy to eat. In between, the Oshinko and pickled vegetables provide a refreshing break. I mistakenly thought the miso soup was Corn Tan Soup, which felt a bit strong, but it offered a different perspective on the beef. The restaurant had mostly couples and female customers, with many dishes appealing to women due to the visually pleasing presentation and lower fat content.
