The other day, I visited Sooljibe (Sulanjee) Shinjuku branch, a new style of Korean restaurant that focuses on the beauty and health benefits of Korean cuisine, which has the highest vegetable consumption per person in the world. I love it because they have many healthy menu options. I toasted with Makgeolli cocktails and a Mojito at Kuroobi-san. I ordered the signature Chapchae at Sooljibe, which is dyed with beets to give it a red color that increases appetite. The assorted Kimchi platter and Samgyupsal were delightful with plenty of vegetables. The chewy texture of the Jeon was fluffy. The Samgyetang with collagen balls was so tender and delicious. I couldn't resist trying the desserts, especially the medicinal herb parfait and the popular Hotteok with vanilla ice cream and berry sauce at Sooljibe. Ending the meal with delicious sweets added to the overall satisfaction. It was a delightful dining experience.

I felt like eating tteokbokki, so I visited the restaurant (^○^) I ordered cheese tteokbokki! The cheese was stretchy and delicious ✨ It was not a chewy soft tteokbokki, but a chewy one! For the sundubu, you could choose the level of spiciness: mild, medium, or spicy! The timing was just right, the place was not crowded, and I was able to enjoy chatting with my friends comfortably, so it was good. Thank you for the meal!!

After lunch on a holiday, I tried to find a café, but they were all quite crowded, so I ended up using a restaurant this time. I ordered a pomegranate vinegar soda. It was refreshing and perfect for a hot day. I would like to revisit next time for a meal as well.

I found this restaurant very attractive in the restaurant area of Shinjuku Takashimaya, so I decided to eat lunch here. It was almost full during lunchtime, but I was seated right away. It seems that there is a time limit during busy times, but it was not a problem for me as I did not plan to stay long. The set menu was abundant, and all the options seemed good for health and beauty, making it hard to choose. I had the Samgyetang set, and my friend had the Dakdoritang set. Served in a hot pot, the dishes stayed hot until the end. The Samgyetang had a light and gentle soup that was delicious and comforting. I also tried the kale and seafood pajeon from the Dakdoritang set, and it was also delicious. It was nice to try kale pajeon, which was quite unusual. The other menu items also looked very delicious, and I would like to visit again.

I visited the restaurant on Wednesday before 1 pm. I was planning to order the Samgyetang dish separately, but they only had set menus available. I ended up ordering the set menu. The chicken was very tender with good meat separation, and it had a gentle flavor that was easy on the body. It's best to ask for a separate dish for sharing as it stays hot for a long time. While they provide a dish for the bones, I hope they bring back the option to order the dish separately.

At the last minute before closing time, I rushed in and found a great value set that will leave you feeling satisfied. If you're craving Korean food, just head to Takashimaya for a good meal. The Samgyetang seemed to be popular as it was sold out. Ordering a set is highly recommended, although you can also order individual items. The flavors are gentle and not too spicy, which is perfect for those who don't like the strong spiciness of typical Korean dishes. This restaurant is conveniently located near the restrooms and smoking area, making it easy to move around. The drinks also come in generous portions.

I went to a place higher than a shopping arcade for the first time. I looked around and decided to eat at a Korean restaurant, which I haven't done outside of Shin-Okubo in a while. I ordered a mini bossam and bibimbap set to go with my beer. I was a bit disappointed because the menu photo showed yukhoe bibimbap, but there was no yukhoe in it. Nevertheless, the bibimbap was delicious. The bossam wrapped in vegetables was also tasty and went well with the beer. It was the first time I saw perilla leaves in Korean cuisine. The atmosphere was calm after the lunchtime peak, so it's a place I want to remember for leisurely meals.

The atmosphere had a Korean vibe and wasn't particularly stylish, but the service was fast and the food was delicious, so I quite liked it. I ordered the stone pot bibimbap and a menu with cheese on top, but the sweetness of the cheese was much stronger than I expected, so I recommend having it with oi kimchi (cucumber) or something similar.

Recently, I was interested in trying Korean cuisine with lots of vegetables among the high-calorie and Instagrammable trends. So, I went to Mizushinje at Takashimaya. I had Chukumi Samgyeopsal and Oyster Tofu with a Highball, while my family had Takkalmar, Garlic Chives Kimchi, Kale and Seafood Pancake, Abalone Porridge, and assorted side dishes. We were all very satisfied with the delicious Korean dishes full of vegetables, including trendy dishes like Takkalmar and Chukumi. The restaurant has high-backed chairs and spacious table seats with enough distance between front and back seats. It's a restaurant inside a department store, but it's nice that you can enjoy a leisurely meal.

In the early afternoon, after shopping at Takashimaya, I stopped by for lunch. It was a Saturday and most restaurants had long lines of customers waiting, but at Mizusashi, there were relatively few people waiting. I was in the mood for Makgeolli, so I decided to go there. We were seated after waiting for about 10 minutes. My daughter ordered the Bibimbap and seafood pancake set, while I ordered the Sundubu and seafood pancake set, along with Makgeolli. The Sundubu had a rich seafood broth and the perfect level of spiciness, it was very delicious. The seafood pancake had large pieces of seafood, a crispy outer layer, and a chewy inside, also very tasty. The Makgeolli was good too. This was my third visit here, the food is consistently delicious! I would like to visit again soon!

Had lunch with friends from the same industry. We wanted to eat something different from what we have at home, so we came here. We ordered the seafood stew and pancake set. The portions seemed slightly smaller than the menu photo, but it was enough to fill us up. The pancake was delicious, so next time I'll try ordering it on its own.

I had lunch at a Korean restaurant in Takashimaya's restaurant area. They had lunch sets which were a good deal for being inside a department store. I ordered a set with stone bibimbap, bulgogi, kimchi stew, and kimchi pancake to share. It was quick, delicious, good value for money, and I was satisfied. I recommend it for a quick lunch!

Located on the 13th floor of Shinjuku Takashimaya at 5-24-2 Sendagaya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. My mother and I visited on Sunday at 2:25 pm. The clientele consists mainly of families and women. Although I was tempted by the Dakdoritang, I decided to order Samgyetang as I was craving it after a long time. It seems to come as a set with small rice, Cholegi salad with kale and Korean seaweed, and three side dishes. I remember that Samgyetang usually has rice inside the chicken, but my mother will enjoy the small rice. Before that, I tried the black bean Makgeolli, which had a fragrant taste and was delicious. The three side dishes arrived at 2:33 pm, followed by the Samgyetang and others at 2:39 pm. The Samgyetang soup was chicken-based and slightly mild in flavor, but delicious. I enjoyed the Cholegi salad, namul, kimchi, and hijiki while balancing the saltiness. The three-layered pork that my mother ordered was also delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Order: - Tteokguk Set ¥1980 - Samgyetang Set ¥1980 - Kale and Seafood Jeon (pancake) a la carte ¥950 - Domestic Silken Tofu Seafood Sundubu-jjigae ¥1380 - Assorted Homemade Kimchi ¥780 - Sanchu Salad ¥650 It's surprising how few restaurants offer both Tteokguk and Samgyetang together. Here, you can enjoy both! Each set is a single serving size, just right. The Samgyetang set comes with salad, rice, and 3 side dishes, while the Tteokguk set includes Kale Jeon, Chive Kimchi, Abalone Porridge, and 3 side dishes. It's enough to fill you up and provides a balanced and healthy meal. Before coming here, I didn't really think about the difference between Tteokguk and Samgyetang, but I was happy to be able to compare them. In the end, I loved both. Also, the Kale Jeon made with rare kale sourced from a contracted farm was delicious. The texture was chewy, and the combination of crispy vegetables was amazing. This restaurant is family-friendly and also great for solo diners, making it versatile for various occasions. The staff was kind and attentive, leaving a great impression!

I had a simple Korean meal - stone bibimbap, which is perfect for solo diners. I also had sundubu as an extra, but I was too tired to take a picture. For dessert, I had a natsume drink. It was a bit pricey in Shinjuku, but I accepted that.

I visited a Korean restaurant called "Sujae" in Shinjuku Takashimaya Times Square at around 6 pm on a holiday in August 2022. The restaurant was located on the 13th floor and was about 40% full. The atmosphere was nice, with about 70% of the customers being women. I sat alone at a table of a suitable size and ordered the "Sundubu jjigae" for ¥1,040 and a "rice set" for ¥300. The prices seemed a bit high compared to Korean restaurants in Shin-Okubo. First, three side dishes arrived, followed by the Sundubu jjigae and rice. The portion size seemed a bit small. The jjigae was not very spicy, but had a good balance of sweetness and richness, catering to the Japanese palate. The rice was of good quality and had a nice texture. I enjoyed it with the side dishes of dried fish and sesame, white cabbage kimchi, and bean sprout namul. I wished there was a bit more kimchi to go with the jjigae. The balance of ingredients in the jjigae was good, with a slightly sweet taste. Although I felt satisfied after finishing the meal, the portion size was a bit lacking. Overall, "Sujae" is a nice restaurant where you can enjoy high-quality Korean cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere, despite the slightly higher prices.

When I feel like eating Korean food, I often think of Shin-Okubo, but on hot days, I don't feel like going there because there are few cool commercial facilities or maybe because it's recently become so crowded with young people that it feels like Harajuku Takeshita Street. In such times, I prefer Korean restaurants in department stores where I can relax and have a meal, even if the prices are a bit higher. It's cool even when it's crowded. However, I don't like waiting, so I visited with three people on a Sunday at 4:00 PM and we were able to enter immediately. The first photo shows bone-in kalbi and grilled summer vegetables, water kimchi, ginger rice, and four side dishes (from the summer herbal warming menu) for ¥1980. The bone-in kalbi is a dish where the meat is cooked in the kitchen and served. It goes well with the ginger-flavored multigrain rice. It's healthy with plenty of vegetables, including water kimchi. The second photo shows the Korean herbal mini bossam and sundubu jjigae set for ¥1580. The Korean herbal name seems to be named after traditional Chinese medicine. The bossam (boiled pork) and pure tofu have classic flavors. The miso sauce for the bossam was particularly delicious. It has a flavor reminiscent of Kinzanji miso from Wakayama Prefecture, which goes well with the pork and lettuce. By the time we left the restaurant, it was full, and there were several groups waiting outside. It's a popular place. I recommend it when you want to enjoy Korean food in a relaxed atmosphere. While eating seafood sundubu jjigae, I cried as I remembered my mother who is far away. The seafood pure tofu was soaked in the essence of seafood, and it was absolutely delicious. The waiter was strict yet kind like my mother. I wanted to drink Chamisul, but I felt like my mother would scold me, so I refrained today. When I paid the bill, I silently shouted, "Mom!" My heart was yearning to shout out. And once again, a single tear rolled down my cheek. No doubt, I will come back. To meet the wonderful mother again.

The restaurants inside Shinjuku Takashimaya Times Square have a calm and peaceful atmosphere, with some even offering terrace seating surrounded by simple greenery. On this particular weekend day, after taking care of household chores in the morning, I decided to visit one of these restaurants on a whim. I had previously eaten bibimbap in Shibuya, but felt like something was missing, so I wanted to see how it would be here. I arrived a bit later to avoid the lunch rush and had to wait about 15 minutes outside the restaurant. Although I dislike waiting outside a restaurant, I passed the time reading a paperback book. Once inside, I ordered the "stone bibimbap and bossam" set. The bossam, a type of pork belly without much fat, had a nice texture. The stone bibimbap was more refined than the one in Shibuya, but I felt the portion of gochujang and the appetizer were a bit lacking. Nonetheless, I left feeling quite satisfied, especially since I had only eaten yogurt for breakfast and it was already around 2 pm. The restaurant was spacious and had a high ceiling, unlike the smoky atmosphere of a typical Korean barbecue restaurant, which I prefer. After the meal, I leisurely strolled through Shinjuku Gyoen with my wife, lying down on a grassy hill, reading about 100 pages of my book before heading back home. It was just a peaceful way to spend a relaxing holiday.
